Brimbank Mayor, Cr Jasmine Nguyen provides an update for the community on Council's federal election priorities, the Brimbank Writers and Readers Festival and more.
A
A
We've
been
calling
on
the
state
and
federal
treasures
to
fund
the
hundreds
of
millions
of
dollars
needed
for
the
sunshine
precinct
super
hub
and
albion
station
upgrades
as
part
of
this
project
in
their
upcoming
budgets.
Now
with
an
election
coming,
our
focus
is
on
making
sure
that
the
feds
do
their
bet,
so
we're
calling
on
prime
minister
morrison
and
all
parties
and
candidates
contesting
the
election
to
pledge
commitments
to
build
brimbank
better
together.
Our
community
needs
federal
funding
and
support
for
a
range
of
community
priorities.
A
These
include
fixing
the
colder
freeway
uplifting,
the
sunshine
precinct
and
redeveloping
sunshine
albion
stations,
because
because
look
at
that,
we
need
an
upgrade
recovering
from
kovid
helping
young
people
get
good
jobs.
Significant
increases
in
mental
health
funding,
community
support
as
melbourne
airport
grows
and
addressing
climate
change
in
a
meaningful
way,
lend
your
support
to
our
federal
election.

By
the
way,
the
brim
bank,
riders
and
readers
festival
is
on
from
the
17th
to
the
26th
of
march.
We've
got
a
great
lineup
of
events
planned
both
online
and
in
person.
First
of
all,
there's
no
cost
to
attend,
but
bookings
are
essential.
You
can
book
through
the
bringback
library's
website.
Broombank
is
planning
to
move
to
a
new
4-bin
waste
and
recycling
collection
service
next
year.
It
will
help
boost
recycling
and
reduce
rubbish
going
to
landfill.
Soon,
we'll
be
asking
for
your
views
on
the
proposed
service
model.
Please
have
your
say.
A
As
always,
vaccination
remains
an
important
tool
against
cobra
19..
We
now
need
three
covered
vaccine
doses
to
be
considered
up
to
date
with
our
shots.
A
third
boosted
dose
prevents
lots
of
protection
against
cobra
19
and
means
that
we
continue
to
protect
our
community
check
coronavirus.big.gov.iu
for
information
on
where
to
get
your
third
dose
stay
safe
and
be
kind
to
each
other.
