Remember for Surrey green Timbers, Thank You mr. speaker today, I would like to speak about an organization which prides itself in serving the vulnerable and underprivileged for the past decade. Dance legacy has worked tirelessly to help young people living with mental health and addictions, initially through raising funds for other nonprofit organizations and later by providing its own services. Besides serving communities with vital programs like counseling and empowerment, it also provides its participants with housing and life skills training. Their mission, mr.

speaker, is to provide youth who have experienced trauma with effective counseling educational education, vocational and other support. Programming's dance legacy was founded in 2006 in the memory of a kind and giving boy named named, and a boy who was highly sensitive to the needs of others and well-liked by people around him as an older teen like salt, like so many other sexual abuse survivors, he began to self-medicate with hard drugs to elevate his childhood trauma, ultimately trying to recover from his eventual substance, abuse and barely nineteen he relapsed and passed on because of an overdose.

After his passing his finally started a foundation to help other youth who found themselves pitted against the challenges of mental health and addiction, and since then, dance legacy has helped hundreds of youth around the Lower Mainland manage their mental health and recover from substance abuse. Dance legacy is an organization, then that infuses hope in those who know who knock on its doors. Mr. speaker, it infuses hope in families and communities around them.

It is one of the organizations that instills of a faith in humanity and fills our confidence about the future Mr Speaker I would like the house to join me in applauding dance legacy for their determined service to the community and wish them strength for decades to come. Thank you.
