Description
The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
5th Session
41st Parliament
A
Very
green
Timbers,
Thank
You
mr.
speaker,
this
spring
has
over
19
to
Colden
BC.
The
word
changed
before
our
eyes.
The
amount
of
new
information
shared
with
us
during
the
early
days
of
pandemic
was
at
times
overwhelming.
We
began
to
be
asked
to
social
distance
to
stay
at
home
and
watch
overhangs.
Often,
a
new
announcements
came
every
day
about
how
communities,
governments
and
everyone
else
was
working
to
slow
the
spread
of
covert
19.
A
In
order
to
start
addressing
the
pandemic,
we
needed
to
begin
to
understand
it
and
in
my
home
city
of
serene
understanding
the
pandemic,
it's
something
we
could
not
have
done
without
the
tireless
work
of
our
local
media.
Surrey
is
one
of
the
most
diverse
cities
in
all
of
Canada,
and
our
local
media
reflects
the
great
diversity
whether
it's
vibrant
network
of
local
Punjabi
radio
stations,
our
local
papers,
that
publish
in
a
multitude
of
languages
all
over
dedicated
multi-cut
multicultural
TV
stations
since
the
pandemic.
They
gained
these
media
outlets.
A
Big
and
small
have
been
working
tirelessly
to
share
public
health
information
to
audiences
in
Surrey,
as
we
try
to
make
sense
of
how
to
keep
our
families,
our
communities
and
ourselves
safe
about
local
radio
stations,
newspapers
and
TV
stations
work
around
the
clock
to
bring
important
information
to
over
communities.
These
outlets
became
yet
another
group
of
essential
workers
delivering
important
information
to
the
community
in
multiple
languages.
A
I
want
to
look
at
nice
series,
media
house
hosts
journalists,
producers
and
staff
for
the
incredible
contributions
they
have
made
to
Surrey
during
this
pandemic
to
every
local
station
and
paper
and
city
that
has
stepped
up.
Thank
you
for
everything
you
have
done
and
for
everything
you
continue
to
do
to
help
our
community
stay
informed
and
stay
safe
during
these
challenging
times.
Thank
you.
