Description
The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
5th Session
41st Parliament
A
After
some
very
brief
introductions
and
mercifully
no
speeches
from
politicians,
the
culinary
feast
began
now
here's
some
color
commentary
on
the
evening
as
if
you
were
there,
the
Colombo
Lodge
staff
begin
the
procession
of
food.
You
can
be
excused
for
having
a
small
portion
of
antipasto
consisting
of
stuffed
portobello,
mushrooms
and
rice
balls
stuffed
with
mozzarella
and
beef.
A
The
mixed
green
salad
with
apples
and
cranberry
is
good,
so
have
some,
but
only
a
little,
and
mostly
so
that
when
your
mom
asks
you
later,
you
can
confirm
that
you
did
indeed
eat
some
greens
with
your
dinner.
Next
up
is
the
the
penne
with
ragu,
and
it's
very
good.
It's
a
tradition
at
the
Colombo
watch
only
rookies
eat
any
of
the
bread
that
is
offered.
Then
the
madness
truly
begins.
Filet
mignon,
wrapped
in
bacon
of
course,
followed
by
the
biggest
juiciest
beef
ribs,
you've
ever
seen.
A
A
A
speaker,
all
of
this
is
organized
by
the
unstoppable
Doug
Houghton,
a
longtime
rancher
who
lives
in
Knutsford
BC
after
graduating,
from
college
Doug
took
a
job
in
Caleb's
at
the
local
John
Deere
dealership,
selling
farm
equipment
join
dear
Doug
is
how
he's
known
back
at
home.
You
won't
meet
a
person
with
a
more
gregarious,
laugh,
a
deeper
loyalty
to
family
friends
and
community
and
a
bigger
heart
than
John,
dear
Doug
Haddon
and
our
committee.
A
community
is
the
better
for
having
him
in
it.
