From YouTube: MARCH 3 2021 Statements Niki Sharma
Description
The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
1st Session
42nd Parliament
A
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
I
rise
virtually
today
to
acknowledge
march
as
community
social
services
awareness
month
this
month
is
an
opportunity
for
british
columbians
to
recognize
the
important
work
of
community
social
service
workers
and
to
thank
them
for
their
resilience,
commitment
and
dedication
to
their
role
throughout
the
past
year.
We've
all
struggled
with
the
effects
of
covid19
community
social
service
agencies
have
been
there
to
provide
support
and
assistance.
A
Some
of
you
may
have
used
the
community
social
service
sector,
certainly
most
of
us
know,
of
an
individual
or
family
that
has
turned
to
the
sector
for
help,
whether
it's
a
newcomer
looking
for
language
skill
training
before
starting
a
job
search,
a
woman
looking
for
shelter
to
exit
an
abusive
relationship,
an
at-risk
youth
in
need
of
safe
counseling
services
or
a
senior
looking
for
help
to
access
local
food
bank
community
social
service
workers
are
there
to
provide
help
and
assistance
in
british
columbia.
Over
2
000
agencies
employ
more
than
46
000
individuals.
A
As
we
look
to
building
a
strong
and
inclusive
economic
recovery
and
a
better
future
for
british
columbians,
these
workers
will
continue
to
play
a
vital
role.
I
would
like
to
invite
all
members
to
join
me
and
in
fact,
everyone
in
bc
to
recognize
march
as
community
social
services
awareness
month.
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
