paul
gill
is
no
more
a
labor
and
anti-racism
activist,
john
gill,
sadly
passed
away
on
february,
2nd
2021.
He
was
84
years
old.
He
took
his
last
breath
at
langley
memorial
hospital
surrounded
by
his
family
members,
brown
moved
to
canada
in
1967.
A
and
went
on
to
earn
a
bsw
and
msw
from
ubc.
He
worked
in.
It
worked
in
a
sawmill
in
williams
lake
in
early
days
and
later
served
as
a
social
worker
in
prince
rupert
and
other
parts
of
the
province.
He
moved
to
say
in
1973,
where
he
lived
rest
of
his
life
with
his
family
in
1980.
He
co-founded
the
canadian
farm
workers
union
and
organized
labor
on
forms
working
with
others,
including
with
you,
honorable
speaker,
which
led
to
significant
improvements
in
the
wages
and
working
conditions
of
british
columbians
farm
workers
in
1987.

He
started
progressive
intercultural
community
services,
society
known
as
pix
to
serve
the
multicultural
community
in
bc.
Pix
became
a
premier
community
organization
under
his
leadership
as
the
ceo
from
1987-2017.
A
The
organization
provides
programs
to
newcomers,
operates
two
senior
housing
complex
adult
day
center
and
the
housing
harmony
house
for
women
who
were
victims
of
domestic
abuse,
tran
also
secured
2.5
acres
of
land
in
cloverdale
to
build
a
modern,
long-term
care
home
for
seniors.
The
diversity
village
ron
spent
over
three
decades
fighting
against
racism
and
for
the
rights
of
others,
be
they
farm
workers
facing
unfair
labor
practices,
skilled
immigrant
immigrants
facing
employment
barriers,
seniors
looking
for
affordable
housing
and
women
who
are
victims
of
domestic
abuse.

He
made
enormous
contribution
to
make
british
colombia
a
better
place
for
everyone
for
all
his
efforts,
john
received
the
order
of
bc
and
the
bc
human
rights
award.
Among
many
other
owners.
He
leaves,
mr
speaker
behind
a
powerful
legacy
that
will
inspire
our
new
generation
to
carry
on
the
struggle
to
build
a
better
and
more
inclusive
society.
He
was
a
good
friend
and
a
good
mentor
to
me
during
my
early
days
in
canada
when
I
worked
at
texas
under
his
leadership,
I,
along
with
countless
others,
will
miss
him
dearly
thanks.
