Description
The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
1st Session
42nd Parliament
A
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
Today
I
rise
to
lend
my
support
to
a
group
of
men
and
women
that
put
their
lives
at
risk
on
a
daily
basis
like
all
of
our
frontline
workers.
These
people
do
not
have
the
option
of
working
from
home
in
care.
We
chill
cotton,
where
floods
and
fires
create
enough
challenges
without
the
pandemic.
We
are
talking
about
a
group
of
people
that
run
toward
danger,
while
most
of
us
would
rather
run
from
it.
A
Unfortunately,
mr
speaker,
a
considerable
amount
of
criminal
activity
is
conducted
by
repeat
offenders
that
are
well
known
to
our
police
department
and
despite
reoccurring,
release
of
so
many
prolific
offenders
in
our
communities
and
the
staggering
amount
of
theft
and
proper
property
damage.
These
individuals
inflict
our
rcmp
detachments
have
remained
undeterred.
A
We
have
seen
a
courage
of
our
nurses,
paramedics,
search
and
rescue
and
many
other
frontline
workers
during
this
pandemic,
but
in
this
instance
I
wanted
to
take
a
few
minutes
this
afternoon
to
thank
our
rcmp
members
for
all
that
they
do.
In
caribou
chilton
we
have
two
of
the
most
committed
leaders
in
inspector
jeff,
pelley
and
williams,
lake
and
staff
sergeant
sven
nielsen
in
100
mile
house.
Together
they
lead
a
very
dynamic
group
of
officers
to
protect
us
daily.
