Description
The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
2nd Session
42nd Parliament
A
Member
for
burnaby
north-
thank
you,
mr
speaker.
More
than
a
thousand
students
are
graduating
this
month
from
burnaby
north
high
schools,
moss
crop
alpha,
burnaby,
central
burnaby
north
and
to
keep
themselves
and
their
community
safe.
They
have
sacrificed
milestones
and
traditions
like
proms,
tournaments
performances
and
grad
ceremonies.
A
A
Your
community
is
proud
of
you.
You
completed
high
school
under
conditions
that
were
at
times
frustrating
confusing,
even
scary,
yet
you
adapted
and
found
creative
ways
to
continue.
Learning
you've
been
isolated
from
your
peers.
Your
sense
of
belonging
has
been
tested
yet
you've
found
other
ways
to
stay
connected.
A
Your
teachers
have
noticed
your
amazing
resiliency
determination
and
perseverance,
and
they
want
you
to
know
that
you
inspire
them.
During
this
pandemic,
you
have
witnessed
either
directly
or
through
media
the
best
and
the
worst
in
human
behavior.
Yet
so
many
of
you
have
responded
with
maturity
and
a
sense
of
social
solidarity.
A
Beyond
your
years,
as
one
parent
told
me,
this
past
year
has
taught
my
kids
to
be
more
patient.
Compassionate
and
understanding
towards
others
and
more
adaptable
to
situations
over
which
they
have
no
control.
In
conclusion,
you
are
coming
of
age
in
an
age
that
poses
an
unprecedented
combination
of
challenges.
