Description
The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
2nd Session
42nd Parliament
A
Thank
you
honorable
speaker
today
is
international
museum
day
an
exciting
day
to
note
the
importance
and
contribution
of
small
local
and
large
museums
in
british
columbia
plays
such
an
important
role
in
showcasing
our
history
and
culture
and
providing
fun
and
interesting
education
to
all.
Here
in
british
columbia,
we
have
a
wealth
of
history,
showcased
in
museum,
province-wide
museum
dedicated
to
first
nations,
languages
and
cultures.
Our
province,
complex
biodiversity,
the
story
history
of
gold
rushes,
art
gallery,
is
filled
with
beautiful
artistry
and
local
municipal
museums,
telling
the
tale
of
cities
across
bc.
A
A
Barcelona
is
iconic
landmark
in
colombia's
north.
It
is
an
excellent
sample
of
the
trails
of
the
gold
rush,
a
notable
chapter
in
the
province
history.
The
heritage
town
has
welcomed
hundreds
of
thousands
of
visitors
for
generations
inspiring
and
educating
on
international
museum
day.
I
asked
all
the
members
of
this
house
and
those
listening
at
home
to
support
their
local
museums
and
archives,
especially
since
government
19
has
had
a
tremendous
impact
on
these
important
institutions.
A
Tourists
and
local
sunlight
have
been
unable
to
assess
the
educational
opportunities
provided
by
museums,
and
these
important
revenues
have
been
dramatically
reduced.
Museums
have
been
hit
hard
and
we
must
all
do
our
part
in
ensuring
that
this
vital
museum
survive
and
that
they
are
written
in
white
educate
once
more
when
we
return
to
normal.
Thank
you.
