Description
The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
2nd Session
42nd Parliament
A
A
People
are
active
in
every
corner
of
the
province,
from
hiking
to
ski
touring,
to
mountaineering
to
white
water.
Kayaking
we've
seen
a
dramatic
increase
in
people
getting
out
onto
the
land
in
the
sea
to
sky
where
access
is,
but
a
short
drive
from
the
lower
mainland
visitor
numbers
have
ballooned
in
the
back
country,
and
it's
not
unreasonable
to
anticipate
this
growth.
Trajectory
will
only
continue.
A
These
volumes
have
highlighted
another
lesson.
A
lack
of
regard
for
the
true
nature
of
personal
responsibility,
while
out
in
the
on
the
landscape.
Take
only
photographs
and
leave
only
footprints
seems
a
maxim
from
the
past.
Be
prepared
for.
Self-Rescue
is
another
adage
that
needs
more
emphasis
in
the
sea
to
sky
and
indeed
across
the
province.
Search
and
rescue
teams
are
in
place,
albeit
often
overburdened
rescue
and
retrieval
is
costly
both
in
dollars,
but
even
more
in
time.
A
A
Trouble
may
arrive,
and
tsar
may
back
you
up,
but
personal
responsibility
dictates
the
importance
of
having
a
plan
to
help
yourself
trip
planning,
training
to
obtaining
the
knowledge
and
skills
you
may
need
and
taking
the
essential
gear
with
you
and
your
crew
are
just
the
basics.
Mr
speaker
know
your
limits
and
stay
within.
It
is
true
for
more
than
just
gaming.
A
great
place
to
start
is
visit
adventuresmart.ca
and
leave
a
plan
as
your
first
stop
to
being
prepared.
