Description
The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
2nd Session
42nd Parliament
A
Member
for
kootenaised
well,
thank
you,
mr
speaker
june
7th
2019
started
as
an
average
late
spring
day
in
krabert
bc,
but
it
wouldn't
end
this
way.
Mr
speaker
rob
amsing
was
outside
cutting
a
lawn
when
he
smelled
what
he
thought
was
garbage.
When
he
looked
down
the
block,
he
could
see
what
appeared
to
be
a
house
that
was
on
fire.
A
Rob
then
make
made
a
second
selfless
decision
to
go
back
into
the
house
and
round
up
the
dog
and
bring
him
out,
but
this
time
the
house
was
very,
very
intense.
The
fire
was
very
intense.
Rob
then
made
a
third
brave
decision.
He
entered
again
to
see
to
check
and
see
if
anyone
else
was
in
the
home.
By
this
time,
flames
were
shooting
across
the
ceiling.
He
later
said
that
it
was
like
a
scene
out
of
the
movie
backdraft
finding.
No
one
else.
A
Many
valuables
were
lost
that
day,
mr
speaker,
but
if
rob
am
saying
had
not
forced
his
way
into
the
home
when
he
did
the
unthinkable
loss
of
a
beloved
family,
member
and
a
family
pet
would
surely
have
happened.
It
should
be
noted
that,
if
not
for
the
fearless
efforts
of
the
kremberg
professional
firefighters,
local
1253,
the
fire
would
have
surely
gone
a
lot
further
down
the
block
due
to
the
fire's,
intense
heat
and
the
very
high
winds.
That
day,
rob's
amsing
is
a
hero.
