recently
participated
in
a
groundbreaking
ceremony
for
the
aging
hoyt
creek
housing
co-op
in
coquitlam.
I
stood
with
long
time,
hoy
creek,
co-op
residents,
vince,
montgomery
and
bertha
hernandez,
hoyt
creek,
president
natalie
barrett,
and
vice
president
antoinette
swabe,
who
were
very
happy
to
see
this
project.
Finally,
moving
ahead,
the
six-story
132
unit
apartment
building
will
offer
a
mix
of
studio
one
two
and
three-bedroom
rental
homes
that
will
replace
the
co-op's
sixty
town
homes
that
were
recently
demolished.

The
building
will
provide
affordable
homes
for
low
to
middle
income,
individuals
and
families,
enabling
them
to
continue
living
in
coquitlam.
The
community
land
trust
foundation
of
bc
will
operate
the
new
homes
in
partnership
with
hoi
creek
housing
co-op.
The
clt
is
receiving
14
million
dollars
from
the
province
of
british
columbia
and
bc.
Housing
will
provide
funding
to
support
annual
maintenance
and
repairs.

clt
is
a
non-profit
social
purpose,
real
estate
developer
and
asset
steward,
created
by
the
cooperative
housing
federation
of
bc.
They
partner
with
organizations
committed
to
preserving
and
expanding
community-based
housing
to
support
a
wide
range
of
affordable
housing
projects
throughout
british
columbia.
