The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
2nd Session
42nd Parliament
A
Member
for
port
moody.
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
If
you
were
to
walk
by
the
art
center
in
port
moody
today,
you
might
see
a
little
bit
more
than
art.
You
might
see
kale
or
lettuce
growing
on
the
front
lawn
and
you
might
ask
why
are
there
vegetables
growing
on
the
front
lawn
of
the
art
center?
But
at
least
one
of
my
constituents
is
asking:
why
not?
A
That
constituent
is
lori
grail
and
she
helped
create
this
demonstration
garden
in
this
high
profile
location,
so
that
we
can
all
think
a
little
bit
more
about
the
places
where
we
can
grow
food
back
in
2013.
She
helped
to
organize
over
50
garden
plots
on
the
grounds
of
the
port
moody
police
station
and
in
these
gardens
a
community
has
come
together
and
been
cultivated
alongside
the
plants
and
vegetables.

A
A
So
if
you've
been
thinking
about
growing
some
food,
but
you
don't
have
a
garden
of
your
own,
you
might
want
to
think
about
putting
your
name
on
the
wait
list
or
attend
one
of
the
many
gardening
workshops
that
are
being
held
throughout
the
summer
on
topics
from
edible
flower,
flower
gardens
to
composting

our

together
in
our
community
gardens.
Thank
you.
