Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
in
many
communities
across
this
province
there
are
individuals
whose
actions
truly
shape
the
landscape.
Peter
alder
was
one
of
those
people,
a
man
who
helped
turn
whistler
and
ski
resorts
across
the
province
into
the
mountain
communities
that
we
enjoy
today.
A
A
Familiar
peter
began
his
career
working
for
commando
on
transmission
lines
and
then
bc,
electric
installing
power
lines
between
the
bridge
river
and
squamish,
and
he
began
his
ski
industry
career
as
general
manager
of
red
mountain
in
rosslyn,
largely
as
a
result
of
his
experience
with
hydro
towers
and
big
cables,
and
as
well
as
quote
his
great
swiss
accent,
unquote
or
so.
The
story
goes.
A
Peter
was
always
involved
in
the
community,
whether
as
a
rotarian
on
the
chamber
of
commerce
or
as
a
mentor
and
a
good
friend
of
many.
He
received
a
lifetime
achievement
award
in
the
whistler
chamber
of
commerce,
excellence
awards
and
the
2019
canada,
west
scariest
association
awarded
peter
the
jimmy
spencer
lifetime
achievement
award
for
outstanding
contributions
to
the
bc
ski
industry,
peter
died
last
july
and
will
sort
be
sorely
missed,
but
his
impact
on
the
industry
and
the
community
will
live
on.
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
