Today.
I
want
to
acknowledge
that
I'm
speaking
to
you
from
the
traditional
territories
of
the
guangan
people,
the
songes
and
the
esquimalt
first
nations,
the
university
of
the
fraser
valley
that
has
a
long
history
in
my
writing,
has
recently
announced
a
new
direction
for
the
mission
campus
james
mandigo,
ufv,
provost
and
vice
president
academic
states
that
the
center
will
be
a
great
example
of
ufv
and
missions,
unified
commitment
to
transforming
lives
and
building
community.

The
center
will
house
the
teacher
education
department
offering
both
bachelor
and
masters
of
education
programs.
In
addition,
the
center
will
also
provide
opportunities
for
programming
in
the
areas
of
early
childhood
education,
school
and
community
support,
worker,
upgrading,
dual
credit
and
continuing
education.
The
mission
campus
will
be
aptly
renamed.
A
Ufv
president
joanne
mclean
phoned
me
before
the
announcement
was
made
and
the
excitement
was
palpable
in
her
voice.
The
move
is
huge
for
us
in
mission.
In
fact,
it's
a
perfect
fit
both
my
colleague,
the
member
for
maple
ridge
mission
and
myself
are
very
happy
to
share
this
news.
