the
last

years
have
not
been
normal

programs
for
adults
in
our
community
since
1982
their
house
on
east
hearst
avenue
has
a
welcoming
home-like
environment
that
moves
adults
from
isolation
to
connection
with
laughter,
compassion
and
encouragement.

house
serves
more
than
100
adults
each
month
through
their
day
programs
and
community
outreach,
along
with
providing
more
than
3
300
meals
per
year.
Clients
do
not
need
a
referral
or
a
formal
diagnosis
to
participate.
They
can
simply
walk
in
and
get
one-on-one
support
or
join
in
more
than
the
25
group
programs
offered.

first
house
will
continue
to
provide
mental
health
services
and
the
soon
to
be
open
forward
recovery
center
at
129
alberni
highway.
This
new
center
will
be
one
of
the
first
of
its
kind
in
canada
because
they
offer
services
that
are
completely
free.
They
are
led
by
people
with
lived
recovery
experience
and
they
honor
the
multiple
pathways
to
recovery.
