Description
The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
3rd Session
42nd Parliament
A
A
There
are
so
many
more
stories
like
these,
but
let
me
conclude
by
saying
this:
family
doctors
are
often
one's
first
point
of
contact
with
the
health
care
system.
They
diagnose
and
treat
illnesses
and
injury.
They
promote
disease
prevention.
They
advocate
on
behalf
of
their
patients.
They
understand
the
social
determinants
of
health
that
are
often
unique
to
one's
personal
circumstances.
A
They
treat
the
whole
person,
but
our
health
care
system
that
I
grew
up
with,
and
so
many
of
us
take
for
granted
is
broken
too
many
british
columbians
don't
have
a
family
doctor,
they
don't
resi,
receive
the
longitudinal
care
that
saves
lives
and
improves
the
quality
of
lives
to
all
family
doctors.
We
hear
your
pain
and
your
struggles
together.
We
can
improve
the
system
so
that
you
can
continue
to
provide
the
longitudinal
care
you
signed
on,
for.
Thank
you.
