Description
The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
3rd Session
42nd Parliament
A
Member
for
abbotsford
salt-
well,
thank
you
very
much,
mr
speaker.
The
abbotsford
air
show
is
in
full
this
august
5th,
6th
and
7th
after
two
years
of
restricted
and
reduced
events,
bc
residents
are
are
excited,
are
excited
to
witness
everything
this
showcase
has
to
offer
in
its
full
capacity.
The
abbotsford
air
show
is
not
only
an
important
piece
of
abbotsford
history,
but
of
bc's
history
as
well.
The
first
air
show
was
held
in
1960,
attracting
about
fifteen
thousand
spectators
and
went
on
to
become
the
biggest
air
show
in
canada
by
1965.
A
So
today
I
would
like
to
urge
everyone
to
block
off
august
5th
the
7th
on
their
calendars
and
attend
this
historic
event.
That
is
such
a
huge
part
of
bc's
history,
especially
the
first
day
of
the
show,
mr
speaker
friday.
The
twilight
show
from
3
to
10
p.m.
It's
chock
full
of
events.
You
don't
want
to
miss
such
as
the
hot
air
balloon
glow.
The
drone
light
show
the
fireworks
finale.
A
I
was
there
myself
last
year,
mr
speaker
and
the
twilight
show
and
got
to
experience,
pilots
that
sent
off
fireworks
from
their
planes
while
doing
aerobatic
displays
and
there's
nothing
like
watching
the
afterburners
of
an
f-18.
When
you
take
a
look
at
mount
baker.
As
his
backdrop,
it's
truly
amazing
bc
has
had
a
tough
year,
mr
in
mr
speaker
and
abbotsford
has
had
more
than
its
fair
share
of
negative
events,
but
this
is
something
all
british
colombians
can
come
together
and
enjoy
from
ground
displays
to
high-flying
aerials.
