Description
The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
3rd Session
42nd Parliament
A
Member
for
Richmond
North
Center,
thank
you,
Mr
Speaker,
I
rise
today
to
acknowledge
and
celebrate
Diwali,
also
known
as
a
celebration
of
lights.
We
joined
Hindu,
Jane,
Sikh
and
Buddhist
communities
across
British,
Columbia
symbolizing,
the
Triumph
of
light
over
Darkness
through
Diwali.
Another
related
celebrations,
such
as
banditra
Divas,
while
those
joyous
days
may
be
celebrated
differently.
It
is
time
to
appreciate
the
light
around
us,
see,
friends,
family
and
loved
ones,
Dance,
Play
and
fist,
while
supporting
those
in
need.
A
I
would
also
like
to
remind
British
Colombian
to
celebrate
safely
and
per
the
regulation
wherever
they
are,
especially
regarding
potentially
dangerous
displays
such
as
fireworks.
We
are
fortunate
to
live
somewhere
with
as
much
light
as
British
Columbia.
Besides
the
gorgeous
Landscapes
nature
and
architecture
that
the
sun
shines
brightly
on
us.
Our
light
and
grow
also
confirm
that
diversity
and
inclusiveness
we
enjoy
and
nurture
in
BC
Diwali
reminds
us
of
the
many
cultures,
Traditions,
religions
and
ethnicity.
A
There
are
so
much
more
vibrancy
to
our
Province
cities
across
BC
are
hosting
events
to
Market
Diwali,
including
in
my
consistency
back
in
Richmond
I,
encourage
all
of
you
to
join
our
local
celebrations
in
the
spirit
of
togetherness
and
light
on
behalf
of
the
official
position.
I
wish
every
one
of
us
who
celebrate
the
Festival
of
Lights
a
happy
and
healthy
Diwali.
Thank
you.
Mr
Speaker.
