Description
The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
3rd Session
42nd Parliament
A
Member
for
kamloops
north
thompson-
thank
you,
mr
speaker,
tomorrow
evening
will
be
an
exciting
another
chapter
in
the
sporting
history
of
kamloops,
and
although
many
in
this
chamber
are
probably
thinking
I'm
talking
about
the
kamloops
blazers
in
game,
seven
in
the
western
conference
final
last
bc-
team
surviving-
I
might
add,
mr
speaker,
against
seattle.
A
It
is
not
the
blazers
that
I
am
talking
about.
Instead,
as
only
canada's
tournament
capital
could
do
in
kamloops,
we
have
another
exciting
event.
That's
been
scheduled
for
quite
some
time
and
delayed
because
of
covid
for
a
year
tomorrow,
night
will
be
the
inaugural
game
for
our
new
west
coast
league
baseball
team,
the
kamloops
north
paws
playing
out
of
norbrock
stadium
in
my
in
my
riding,
it's
the
jewel
of
of
kamloops
and
sports
facilities,
but
it's
also
been
referred
to
as
what
would
be
considered
one
of
the
better
aaa
parks
in
north
america
as
well.
A
So
we're
looking
forward
to
a
very
exciting
season
of
the
north
paws.
We
know
that
ticket
sales
have
been
going
very
well.
We
hope
the
fans
will
be
able
to
find
their
way
to
both
events
tomorrow,
but
certainly
in
the
coming
days
as
it's
a
three-game
home
stand
to
start
off
their
season,
they're
joined
by
the
kelowna
falcons
and
the
nymo
night
owls,
as
well,
of
course,
in
a
league
that
the
victoria
harbor
cats
have
been
a
part
of
for
quite
some
time.
A
So
it's
great
to
see
that
victoria
will
still
have
a
stadium
to
play
in
mr
speaker
and
not
a
dog
park
I'll
just
throw
that
out
there
as
a
baseball
fan,
but
the
north
paws
have
been
a
long
time
coming.
A
The
ownership
group
had
been
trying
for
several
years
to
pull
together
a
team
in
kamloops,
so
it's
great
to
see
that
their
years
of
hard
work
and
dedication
and
not
walking
away
from
the
dream
of
bringing
forward
high
level,
essentially
division,
one
u.s
division,
one
level,
caliber
baseball,
two
camels
from
the
surrounding
region
is
going
ahead.
There
is,
as
my
understanding
is,
the
four
bc
teams.
The
mayors
have
a
joint
cup
that
they
will
now
be
playing
for
this
year.
