hilliard
clare,
a
keepsake
of
prince
george,
and
that
he
was
born
in
1929
hilliard,
moved
to
prince
george,
with
his
parents
in
1930
to
live
in
the
cache
with
other
railroad
families.
Hilliard
was
a
mason
and
served
in
the
shriners.

his
youth,
hilliard
was
a
hockey
goalie
and
a
longtime
director
of
the
prince
george
mohawk's
hockey
club.
He
received
the
prestigious
centennial
medal
in
1967
for
his
community
service
and
was
citizen
of
the
year
in
1991.,
while
hilliard's
dream
was
to
go
to
law
school.
There
was
no
money
for
continuing
education
at
that
time,
so
he
went
to
work
full-time
at
the
iconic
northern
hardware
store
and
there
he
stayed
for
decades
more
than
70
years.
In
fact,
during
his
career
he
drove
the
delivery
truck
repaired
bicycles
and
eventually
moved
into
the
office.
