Mr
Speaker
I
have
two
favorite
days
in
the
legislature
each
year
for
one
being
mining
day,
the
second
one
being
Wildlife
day,
which
happens
to
be
tomorrow,
lots
of
things
we
can
celebrate
about
Wildlife
the
diversity
in
this
province,
but
sadly
we're
seeing
a
rapid
decline
in
our
Wildlife
populations
from
from
every
corner
of
the
province.
There's
lots
of
there's
lots
of
factors
to
this.
A
There's
disease
movie
virus
for
the
sheep
and
goat
populations,
chronic
wasting
disease
from
populations,
but
also
land
use,
industry,
habitat
loss,
climate
change
and
predation,
which
is
a
major
contributor
and
needs
to
be
seriously
managed.
We
need
science-based
decision
making
and
up-to-date
data
collection.
We
need
local,
First,
Nation
and
local
stakeholder
input
on
how
we
manage
our
populations.
We
need
legislation
that
puts
Wildlife
first.

We've
seen
some
great
private
members
bill
as
well
from
the
member
the
green
party
that
he
just
reintroduced
a
wildlife
Amendment
act
to
restore
bear
denim
in
in
in
trees
and
stumps
to
protect
those
those
habitats
that
we
most
desperately
need
to
retain
our
Wildlife
populations,
but
for
today,
I
just
want
to
celebrate
Wildlife
day
respect
and
and
celebrate
the
diversity
of
our
Province
and
our
Wildlife
populations,
and
to
make
tomorrow
a
great
day
for
all
wildlife
and
British
Columbia.
