Description
The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
4th Session
42nd Parliament
A
Member
for
study
Guilford,
thank
you
honorable
speaker.
You
cannot
have
Community
without
Unity
it's
right
there.
In
the
word,
there
is
unity
in
our
community
and
there
is
no
better
evidence
of
that
than
the
iftar
the
meal
itin
or
eaten
by
Muslims
during
the
month
of
Ramadan,
immediately
after
Sunset
celebrated
in
the
Surrey
Art
Center
last
Thursday,
several
hundred
people
of
all
faiths
gathered
together
in
one
place,
adherence
of
Judaism
Islam,
Christianity,
Hinduism,
Buddhism
and
Sikhism,
celebrating
with
our
Muslim
sisters
and
brothers.
Simply
by
sharing
a
meal
and
quiet
conversation
in
many
languages.
A
It
is
imperative
for
the
followers
of
the
various
religions
to
join
their
voices
in
calling
for
peace,
tolerance
and
respect
for
the
dignity
and
rights
of
others.
In
Surrey.
These
virtues,
peace,
tolerance
and
respect
are
boldly
and
clearly
on
display.
It
was
uplifting
and
very
moving
to
be
a
small
part
of
this
very
large
Gathering.
A
By
celebrating
diversity,
we
dispel
misconceptions
about
different
cultures,
religions
and
ethnicities
and
promotes
promote
new
ways
of
thinking.
The
science
of
genetics
confirms
that
humans
cannot
be
divided
into
biologically
distinct
sub-categories.
This
is
validated
by
many
decades
of
research.
In
other
words,
race
in
and
of
itself
is
a
social
construct
with
no
biological
base
simply
put,
there
is
only
one
race,
and
that
is
the
human
race.
