From YouTube: 2023 Vice Mayor Election
Description
2023 Vice Mayor Nan H. Rich Election and Swearing In
A
B
You
mayor
nice
to
say
that
to
you,
I
would
like
to
place
a
denomination
commissioner
Nan
Rich
to
be
the
next
vice
mayor.
B
She
is
one
of
the
hardest
working
Commissioners
that
we
have.
She
currently
is
chairing
numerous
committees,
the
planning,
Council
I,
coordinated
Council,
the
climate
change
task
force,
the
affordable
housing,
advisory
and
homeless
Continuum
of
Care
board.
For
six
years.
Nan
has
been
a
passionate
and
fierce
Advocate
on
numerous
fronts,
we
think
of
Nan
as
being
the
champion
for
affordable
housing,
but
we
see
her
on
the
front
lines
on
children's
issues
on
workers,
rights
on
women's
issues
and
numerous
environmental
fronts,
all
while
being
our
champion
on
one
of
the
most
important
and
challenging
issue,
affordable
housing.
B
She
has
kept
that
front
and
center
in
this
community
and
that
has
made
us
a
better
Commission,
a
more
responsive
commission
and
a
more
respected
Commission
from
State
Rep
to
state
senator
to
commissioner.
She
has
worked
with
and
for
people
of
all
stripes
and
her
fight
has
been
our
fight
and,
lastly,
I
just
saw
a
picture
of
those
people
put
into
chairmanships
in
the
state
legislature.
I
don't
know.
If
anybody
saw
that
all
white
males
it
wasn't
a
good
look.
B
C
C
A
A
D
D
A
E
Well,
thank
you
so
much.
This
is
very
exciting.
I
want
to
just
say
thank
you
to
my
husband.
He
was
here
swearing
me
in
for
my
commission
seat.
He
was
up
with
me
in
Tallahassee
when
I
was
sworn
in
there
in
the
house
and
in
the
Senate
and
he's
always
with
me
and
I
have
to
say
I'm,
sorry
to
say
that
I'm
I've
got
you
beat
I've
got
you
beat
48
I've
got
60.,
oh,
that's
it
yeah,
okay
and
he's,
as
I
said,
always
there
and
I'm.
E
Sorry
that
my
best
of
my
family
wasn't
here
today,
but
we
had
a
nice
Thanksgiving
celebration,
including
with
my
100
year
old
mother,
who
is
like
not
all
of
her
faculty
she's,
the
most
amazing
person,
I
have
great
genes,
and
so
I
just
want
to
always
thank
my
my
family
for
being
there.
For
me,
I
also
want
to
thank
first
of
all,
congratulate
Michael
on
the
incredible
job
that
he
did
as
mayor
ubiquitous
is
the
word
I
think
about
with
you.
E
You
were
everywhere
in
this
County
and
that's
a
credit
to
you
and
part
of
the
amazing
job
that
you
did.
Thank
you.
So
much
and
of
course,
vice
mayor
at
that
time
was
with
you
and
preparing
himself
for
what
would
come
next,
so
you
are
certainly
well.
We
are.
We
are
100
ready,
so
thank
you.
I
want
to
thank
beam.
E
Fur
he's
been
there
constantly
for
me
to
it's
to
support
me
in
this
effort
to
become
the
vice
mayor
and
and
thank
you
for
your
beautiful
nomination
and
for
all
the
work
that
that
beam
does
on
in
this
community.
But
his
passion
is
is
his
climate
and
climate
change
and,
as
was
mentioned,
we
have
a
big
conference
coming
up
here,
which
is
very
exciting
at
the
convention
center
December,
8th
and
9th
I
hope
everyone
will
will
come.
E
One
of
course
congratulate
my
colleague,
the
new
mayor,
Lamar
Fisher
I
am
really
looking
forward
to
working
with
him.
We
are
going
to
be
a
team
I'm.
This
is
this.
Is
a
team
up
here,
but
I
have
watched
you
since
you
got
on
the
commission
and
I,
just
think
that
some
of
the
things
that
were
said
about
you
in
your
in
the
introduction
of
you,
our
nomination,
are
so
true
about
your
temperament
and
your
ability
to
work
with
people
in
in
this
community.
E
So
look
forward
looking
forward
to
that,
and
I
also
want
to
welcome.
Of
course,
our
two
new
Commissioners
Hazel
Rogers
I've
worked
with
her
in
the
state
legislature
and
Robert
McKenzie,
looking
forward
to
a
good
relationship
with
you,
all
I
know
that
you
will
bring
lots
of
experience.
You
do
bring
lots
of
experience
with
you
from
other
levels
of
government,
which
is
so
important
by
the
way.
E
One
of
the
things
I
do
want
to
say
was
when
I
was
in
the
legislature
and
I
was
I
was
represented
by
a
district
like
everybody
else
when
I
was
in
the
house
when
I
was
in
the
Senate
and
here
and
just
as
you
as
as
everyone
is
here,
you're
represented
from
a
district,
but
when
I
was
in
the
legislature,
I
represented
my
district
I.
Think
very
well,
but
I
also
believe
that
I
was
representing
a
state
when
there
was
a
problem
in
the
child
welfare
system
in
Florida.
E
E
I
want
to
just
say
that
we're
we,
we
came
roaring
back
from
the
pandemic
and
that's
a
big
credit
to
this
community
to
our
to
our
leadership.
Our
staff
leadership
and
you've
heard
just
accolades
about
our
staff.
E
One
thing
that
always
gets
to
me
is
when
our
County
Administrator
just
recently
gave
out
Awards
to
people
that
were
that
work
here,
25
30
35
years,
and
it
just
shows
you
I,
believe
what
kind
of
a
staff
we
have
in
the
commitment
they
have
to
what
they
do
in
our
County
and
I
I
know
we
all
couldn't
do
what
we
do
without
without
you
all,
we
have
an
exceptional
County
and
the
rebound
included.
E
As
you
heard,
the
airport,
the
seaport,
Economic
Development,
tourism
and
I
want
to
say
that
there
are.
There
are
certainly
it's
incredible.
What
we've
done
there
you've
heard
the
unemployment
rate,
but
you
know
there
are
people
that
some
of
our
most
vulnerable
people
in
our
in
our
society
and
in
our
community
that
did
not
benefit
from
the
the
rebound
that
we
had
and
I
know
that
the
mayor
just
mentioned.
E
The
word
collaboration
collaboration
is
something
I
believe
in
a
thousand
percent
I
chair,
the
coordinating
Council
of
Broward,
which
is
a
a
collaboration
of
a
Human
Service
organizations
across
this
County,
our
Hospital
districts,
our
school
board,
our
our
United
Way
2-1-1,
everybody
that
delivers
delivers
any
kind
of
Human
Services
and
we
won
an
award
back
in
2019.
It's
because
we
we
do
we
collaborate.
We
work
together
and
I
know
that
we
will
be
a
team.
We've
always
been
a
team
that
does
that.
E
But
now
I
think
we
have
a
challenge
facing
us
and
it
goes
back
again
to
what
commissioner
first
said
about
affordable
housing
and
homeless,
and
that,
and
especially
in
the
environment
of
today,
we
believe
in
cultural
diversity.
We
believe
in
equity
in
this
County
and
we
believe
in
an
opportunity
for
everybody
to
succeed
and
that's
what
certainly
I
will
focus
on,
as
vice
mayor
and
I.
Just
do
I
want
to
also
mention
thank
my
my
staff.
E
I
have
a
very
special
staff,
my
chief
of
staff
Harrison
Gran
Williams,
and
my
commission
aide
and
my
commission
Aid
Eugenia
Nickatina.
They
are
just
amazing
and
and
you're
right,
commissioner
Rogers
they
do
not
work
40
40
hours
a
week.
They
don't
work
right,
nine
to
five.
They
are
just
incredible
and
so
I
just
want
to
get
a
special
thanks
to
them
and
I
just
looking
forward
to
working
with
all
of
you,
as
we
always
do
as
a
team
to
make
Broward
County
a
better
place
for
everybody
to
live.
