Description
The Aquatic Center had its official ribbon cutting on Jan. 25 with Commission Chair Brownie Newman and Commissioners Joe Belcher, Amanda Edwards, and Al Whitesides representing the entire Board of Commissioners. “This is a project that has been talked about for a long time… so we’re really excited to see it come online after many years of being discussed,” noted Newman. “It’s going to serve our community well for many years to come.

is
the
direct

of
a
commitment
fulfilled
by
the
Buncombe

and
that
commitment
represented
six
and
a
quarter
million
dollars
to

Behalf

we

this
exciting

talked
about
in

for
many
years.
One
evening
at
one
of
our

we
really
heard
from
the
community
and
from
a
lot
of
the

in

exactly
how
important
this
is
and
that
it

forward.
We
had
I
think
about
a
hundred
kids

other
supporters
of
this

come
to
the

and
speak
firsthand
about
the
