B
I
want
to
announce
that
I
will
not
be
a
candidate
for
Buncombe,
County,
Commission,
Chair
or
any
other
office
next
year.
I
I
will
not
be
I
will
finish
my
term.
My
term
runs
through
December
of
next
year,
but
I
will
not
be
a
candidate
and
I
wanted
people
to
know
this
same
time.
I'm
not
sick,
I'm,
not
mad
I'm,
not
any
any
political
issue
here.
Any
ethic
issue
that
I
know
about
each
one
spend
more
time
with
my
wife,
Charisse
Kent
36
years,
I.
B
Did
you
keep
your
promises?
Did
you
do
what
you
said
you're
going
to
do?
Did
you
meet
your
goals?
Did
you
leave
the
county
and
better
position
than
it
was
before
you
came
and
then
finally
I
think
probably
equally
important
is:
did
you
treat
people
with
respect
and
courtesy
and
dignity
along
the
way.
A
Ghent
reviewed
the
top
ten
achievements
of
the
board
during
his
tenure,
including
enacting
a
steep
slope
ordinance
and
zoning
overlay
for
the
Blue
Ridge
Parkway,
the
construction
of
11
new
schools
permanently
preserving
over
6,000
acres
of
County
farmland,
creation
of
the
first
perpetual
energy
landfill
in
the
country.
A
new
25
million
dollar
led
certified
County
Courthouse,
a
triple
a
bond
rating
creation
of
over
6,000
jobs
and
a
strong
economy,
a
countywide
zoning
and
planning
ordinance
and
the
creation
of
greenways
pools,
libraries
and
community
centers
in
each
part
of
the
county.
We
have
spent.
B
693
million
dollars
for
new
buildings
for
infrastructure
for
making
this
a
better
place,
new
courthouse,
a
new
Animal
Control
Center,
a
new
animal
campus,
we're
going
to
build
a
family
justice
thanks
to
Commissioner,
Holly,
Jones
and
and
others
sheriff
Duncan
will
hear
from
them.
It
we're
going
to
have
a
family
justice
center
that
we're
going
to
get
done.
That
will
be
a
national
model
where
the
register
deeds
office
is
right
now.
But
this
is
how
much
money
we've
put
out
to
make
this
a
better
place
to
live.
B
We
have.
We
have
libraries
in
every
district.
We
have
swimming
pools
in
every
different.
We
have
community
places
in
every
district.
Every
commissioner
voted
to
build
to
allocate
over
50
million
dollars
toward
to
new
city
schools.
Out
of
the
general
fund.
It
was
competitive
with
everything
else.
We
did
it
I'm
mighty,
proud
of
that
one
Commissioner
can't
do
a
thing,
but
you've
had
Commissioner
Sobel
young
Stanley,
kiver,
Ramsey,
Peterson,
Bailey,
Jones
King.
In
the
past
you
got
Jones
again
thank
God.
You
got
frost,
Newman,
Belcher
de
Bruin,
fryer
now
and
together.
