all

my
retirement
after

the

the
court
system
in

over
40
years,
that's
been
the

half
of
my
life
and
believe
me,
it's
been

best

nothing.
I've
enjoyed
better
than
serving
the
people.
This
County
Register
of
Deeds
I,
have
enjoyed
the
work,
but
we're
at
the
office
would
stay
in
good
hands.

My
replacement
I've
got
two
years
left
on
this
term,
but
my
replacement
will
come
within
the
next
30
days
from
the
jaded
committee
of
the
party
which
I
belong
to,
which
is
Democrat
Party
fill
out
that
term
I
want
to
thank
so
many
people
here.
It
would
take
me
the
rest
of
the
evening,
but
Joanne
Morgan
is
the
my
assistant.
He
will
be,
as
I
understand
it,
be
running
the
show
until
my
replacement
comes
along
the
next
30
days.

deserves
all
kinds
of
bells
and
whistles
and
awards
putting
up
with
me
for
37
years.
Not
many
people
feel
throughout
my
wife
survived
it.
Somehow.
One
of
them
thanked
me
some
my
family
of
year.
I
won't
take
time
to
call
all
of
them,
but
for
this
occasion
I
just
want
expressed
all
of
you
the
gratitude
that
I
have
what
just
party
in
this
county,
miss
county
government
nip
them
in
my
family
and
I've
made
more
friends
that
here
than
files
on
the
TV
trying
to
act
out.

I've
got
friends
that
I've
see
occasionally
now
that
I've
seen
40
years
ago,
we'll
come
and
tell
me
more
about
myself
to
not
know
some
of
that's
good,
some
others
not,
but
my
wife's,
not
your
verse
afternoon,
she's
not
feeling
well
but
she's.
Taking
this
good.
That's
what
she
dealt
me.
My
children
seem
to
put
their
stamp
of
approval
on
it.
I'm
not
go
up
just
drive
up
somewhere
I'm
gonna
stay
active
in
the
Democrat
Party.

Our
whole
nation
runs
on
politics.
That's
what
ever
we
make
out
of
it
and
I'm
gonna
spend
some
time
with
my
family.

some
things
that
I
hope,
they're
able
to
you
know
I've
had
a
few
health
issues
lately,
but
nothing
severe
and
that's
not
the
reason
I'm
to
die.
I've
got
the
time
and
it's
time
to
move
on.

first,
we
all
going
to
take
a
deep
breath.
It's
a
big
day,
honor
such
an
incredible
public
servant
as
lauded
abrel
he's
he's
on
a
lot
of
birth
certificates.

name
is,
and
he
has
he's
made

wheels
of
this
government
turned
smoothly
and
quickly
for
the
people
of
buncombe
county,
and
you
just
can't
ask
for
a
better
public
servant,
so
we'll
all
kind
of
take
a
deep
breath
and
think
about
what
this
means
to
us
as
citizens
of
buncombe
county
first.

far
as
replacement
goes,
the
next
step
is
for
within
30
days,
the
executive
committee
of
the
Buncombe
County
Democratic
Party,
will
meet
and
select
somebody
who
will
run
or
we'll
select
somebody
to
try
to
replace
and
I
can't
replace
them,
but
serve
out
this
term
for
these
next
two
years,
and
then
somebody
will
run
in
the
next
election
cycle.

I've
got
to
say
about
all
the
rule,
as
he's
one
of
the
first
people
that
I
went
and
talked
with
when
I
decided,
I
was
going
to
run
for
sheriff
and
he's
been
a
great
Council
and
a
great
man.

great
person
to
look
up
to
the
thing
that
sticks
out
most
to
me
about
all
of
the
rule
is,
if
you've
ever
heard,
auto
talk
about
the
favorite
part
of
his
job.

know
what
he's
all
about,
and
it's
about
helping
people
here
at
this
courthouse:
he'll
talk
about
being
register
of
deeds
and
dealing
with
the
other
register
of
deeds
and
hanging
out
with
them
and
doing
those
things.
But
the
main
thing
that
he
talks
about
is
being
able
to
serve
people
who
come
in
and
out
of
this
courthouse
auto,
we
voted
we're
going
to
miss
you.

into

breakfast

Tunnel
Road,
and
there
were
all
these
folks
there
and
I
had
a
big
stack

pancakes
and
just
starting
to
dig
into
it,
and
mr.
de
Bruin
stood
up
and
he
said
miss
Peterson
and
I
said
yes,
he
said
we
have
decided
and
that
you
know
that's
scary.
When
you
look
around
at
all,
the
democratic
elected
officials
are
in
the
room.

going
to
run
for
County,
Commission
I,
said
freestyle,
go
out
in
the
hall
and
talk
about
that.
Just
a

We
came
back
and
I
said
yes,
but
I
couldn't
eat
another
bite
of
those
pancakes
because
it
scared
me
to
death,
but
that's
the
kind
of
influence
that
this
gentleman
has
on
people
I
just.

I
think
about
other
several
words
come
to
mind.
The
first
one
is
humble:
auto
came
from
humble
beginnings,
I
didn't
have
a
lot
of
formal
education
came
to
this
courthouse
and
he
has
one
of
those
progressive
rest
for
deeds.
Office
in
the
state
had
gone
from.
Writing
deeds
and
entries
by
hand
to
you
can
access
it
online.
There
he's
been
one
of
the
leaders
in
our
state
for
many
years,
bringing
that
about,
and
that
was
under
his
leadership.
Public
servant
I've
been
here
many
times
when
weekends
I
see
autos
car
in
the
parking
lot.
I
He
was
also
here
working
helped
a
lot
of
people
as
you've
heard
from
other
folks.
You
would
never
know
it.
He
never
took
credit
for
it.
He
wanted
to
help
people
you
want
to
help
poor
people.
We
want
to
help
the
little
people
who
come
up
here
in
this
courthouse
and
have
to
navigate
a
maze
of
agencies
of
bureaucracies
and
trying
to
deal
with
all
the
people
he's
also
the
fount
of
all
knowledge
of
things,
political
and
historical
for
the
past
40
or
50
years
in
our
county.

kind
of
person
that
when
you
have
a
problem,
he
go
talk
to
him
and
he
will
tell
you
the
things
that
you
need
to
consider
and
he
cares
about
the
people
of
this
County
more
than
anyone
that
I
can
ever
imagine.

mean
he
takes
every
day
comes
in
here,
worries
about
the
people
who
come
in
here

love
you

death,
we're
going
to

believe
you
didn't
tell
us
before
today
that
you're
going
to
do
this,
but
we're
