and

local
important

okay,
it's
time
to

hello,
hello,

good
brisk

today.
This
is

and
it
is
time
to

I
have

B
Recreational
service
MX
Stanley
program
coordinator
with
the
Recreation
services
we
understand
the
holidays,
are
quickly
approaching
and
we're
at
the
beginning
of
the
fall
leaf
season
Leaf
season.
However,
we
want
to
inform
community
about
some
exciting
upcoming
events
and
various
things
about
bookan
County's,
recreational.
C
Services
Welcome
Matt
awesome
just
want
to
point
out
that
intro
is
very
good.
A
B
C
So
U
this
fall,
we've
got
whole
lineup
of
programs.
Events
coming
out
actually
I
want
to
hit
on
one
thing:
U
last
the
weekend
after
Labor
Day,
we
actually
had
our
fall.
C
Lake
Julian
Park.
We
do
that
two
times
a
year
and
we
close
down
Lake
Julian
to
the
public
and
invite
first-time
family
campers
to
come
in
and
camp
in
a
low
lowrisk
environment
in
the
park.
We
provide
them
with
activities
to
do
provide
them
with
dinner
and
breakfast,
and
we
do
that
two
times
a
year.
So
look
out
for
those
next
year
in
early
June
and
late
August.
C
Campfires
out
we
do
burgers
and
hot
dogs
on
the
grill,
and
then
our
friends
at
REI
bring
us
some
sides.
Macaroni
cheese,
baked
beans.
A
C
And
then
for
breakfast
we
just
do
cold
breakfast
milk,
cereal,
yogurt,
fruit,
stuff,
like
that.
A
A
C
Hanging
in
there,
so
all
the
parks
they're
going
to
be
open
from
Dust
to
Dawn,
so
you're
more
than
welcome
to
go
out
there
and
enjoy
them
at
your
leisure.
So
one
of
every
other
week
we
have
this
program
thing.
It's
called
core.
C
Community
outreach,
recreational
experiences
and
those
will
be
in
our
Parks
as
well
as
some
of
our
community
centers
here
in
the
county
and
those
are
just
free
days
from
10:
to
1.
We
come
out
there
with
our
van
our
Sasquatch
van.
B
C
We
have
free
activities
in
the
back
of
the
van
for
kids,
taller
age
and
homeschool
kids
to
interact
with
out
in
the
park
so.
A
C
Was
great
we
had
about
there's
probably
about
45,
to
50
people
there
yeah.
We,
we
brought
some
Strider
bikes
out,
which
are
just
little
bikes
for
toddlers
to
ride.
We
got
helmets
for
them,
and
then
we
had
a
dodgeball
game
and
as
well
as
a
kickball
game
as
well.
A
Okay
and
so
you're
going
to
be
back
at
Sandy,
mush
October
9.
A
Have
a
big
homeschool
Community
a
lot
of
people
may
not
know
that
they
have
a
big
homeschool
community
and
October.
The
11
you'll
be
at
Big
Ivy.
Oh
yeah
and
you'll
be
at
Big
ivy
again
the
23rd
October
and
then
the
25th
you'll
be
at
Bent
Creek,
Community,
Park
and
again
in
November
you're,
going
to
be
back
at
Sandy,
mush,
I'm,
so
glad
they're.
Getting
that
time.
B
A
And
then
November
8th,
you're
back
at
big
Ivy,
Community
Center,
but
the
parks
we
have
the
20th,
which
is
this
week,
September
20th
and
that's
going
to
be
bunan
County
Sports
Park,
the
22nd.
We
have
Charles
D
Owen
Park
in
October,
20
27th.
We
have
Lake
Julian,
that's
correct
all
right,
and
so
how
are
the?
What
would
you
say
is
the
difference
when
you
do
them
at
the
center
and
when
you
do
them
at
the
park.
So.
C
B
C
So,
for
instance,
when
we
went
to
Sandy
mus
yesterday,
they
already
had
a
homeschooled
play
group
out
there.
So
we
just
come
in
and
kind
of
supplement
that
program.
C
C
So
that's
going
to
be
8
8
to
8
pretty
much!
All
of
our
parks
are
closing
around
8:00
right
now
and
as
the
you
know,
as
daylight.
Savings
time
ticks
down
as
the
months
come,
we'll
be
closing
a
little
bit
earlier.
So
just
stay
updated
on
our
website
and
we'll
have
all
our
hours.
C
So
we-
and
this
is
I-
can't
remember
we
doing
this-
we've
been
doing
this
for
a
long
time.
We've
been
doing
some
guided
hikes
during
the
fall,
and
so
we've
got.
We've
got
four
hikes
coming
up,
so
we
already
did
one
last
week
in
September.
That
was
at
one
of
our
Parks
coer
Cove
Nature
Preserve,
and
that
was
a
good
turnout.
We
had
about
six
people
show
up
with
us
and
we
hiked
through
the
trail
did
some.
You
know
interactive.
C
We
have
one
of
our
Rangers
from
Lake,
Julian
and
kind
of
pointing
out
plants
and
stuff
like
that,
and
then
we
have
two
more
coming
up
in
October
I.
Don't
know
the
dates
off
the
top
of
my
head,
but
look
out
for
those,
and
then
we
have
one
more
in
November
and
the
cool
thing
about
these
hikes
is
we
try
to
keep
them
within
bunkham
County,
so
our
residents
don't
have
to
drive
outside
of
the
county
to
enjoy
these
hikes
with
us
and
enjoy
the
leaves
changing.
As
you
all
were
saying,.
B
Okay-
and
we
have
information
here
around
where
some
of
them
hikes,
so
we
had
a
war,
Wilson,
River,
Trail
and
so
that'll,
be
on
Wednesday
October,
the
18th
and
that's
from
10:30
to
2.
Around
12:00
p.m.
registration
ends
on
the
17th.
B
The
other
Trail
was
the
craggie
gardens
Loop
and
that
is
on
Monday
October,
the
30th
and
that's
from
10:30
to
about
1
registration
Clos
on
the
27th
of
October,
and
that
fourth
Trail
was
monre
Loop
and
it
is
the
dates
of
it
is
Wednesday
November
the
15th
from
10:30
to
about
1
p.m.
and
registration
Clos
on
November,
the
14th.
So
those
are
four
three
Trails
cuz
one
already
occurred
last
week,
and
so
we
do
have
three
more
Trails
coming
up
for
people
can
go
out
and
enjoy
the
leag.
A
B
C
B
C
B
B
A
A
A
Wether
appropriate
clothing.
Now
you
know,
and
during
this
time
of
year
you
wake
up
and
in
late
fall,
but
you
you
you
go
to
bed
in
like
Mid
spring,
so
you
know
that
weather
changes,
but
in
the
middle
of
the
day
it
is
summer.
So
you
know.
A
And
wear
protection
people
think
they
can't
get
sunburnt
during
this
time
of
year.
It
happens
so
sunscreen
get
you
some
sunscream,
some
insect
repellent.
You
know
and
we're
not
telling
you
to
put
on
all
the
deep
that
you
can
find
at
the
tractor
store.
But
we
are
saying
be
very
careful.
You
know
know
some
optional
things:
sunglasses,
hats,
binoculars
cameras.
My
thing
I
always
tell
people
if
you're
going
to
be
in
nature,
turn
your
cell
phone
airplane
mode
on.
A
So
you
can
take
pictures
but
you're,
not
bothered
by
you,
know
the
everyday
social,
social
media
and
always
being
able
to
be
contacted
because
it's
a
way
to
unplug
your
brain
correct.
So
you
know
with
fall
coming
and
the
leades
changing
that
process.
C
A
And
and
say
like
a
person
like
me,
who
would
be
extreme
beginner,
I
just
need
to
like
go
to
like
Julian
and
just
walk
around
that
trail.
A
A
A
C
Oh
yeah,
so
we're
super
excited
about
this.
This
is
our
second
year
doing
this
out
at
the
bun
County
training
facility
out
in
Woodfin.
So
this
is
a
day
where
we
just
have
a
lot
of
collaborators
from
the
safety
Emergency
Services
World
come
out
and
just
have
tables
and
have
some
information
ready
for
us,
and
then
we
have
we're
giving
out
helmets.
We
got
a.
C
Will
receive
a
free
bicycle
helmet
and
then
we
will
have
bikes
there
for
you
to
ride.
We'll
have
a
little
bike
safety
route
for
you
to
ride.
B
C
And
then
our
friends
from
Weaverville
fire
department
will
be
out
there
with
their
fire
trucks
and
spraying
spraying
the
water,
and
then
we
will
also
have
a
fire
extinguisher
simulator,
which
seems
pretty
cool
to
me.
So
it's
like
you,
get
a
fire
extinguisher
and
it's
a
TV
screen.
It's
kind
of
like
a
little
video
game
where
you
like
shoot
and
spray
and
get
the
fire
out
and
see
how
how
long
it
takes
you
to
get
there.
C
So
that
is
going
to
be
this
Saturday
actually
September
23rd
9
to
12,
and
we
will
be
out
there
rain
or
shine.
That's
nice
and
you
said.
A
Is
you
know,
I
think
it's
so
important
that
we
we
understand
that
you
know
a
lot
of
us
grew
up.
We
didn't
even
know
what
a
bike
helmet
was.
You
know
in
s
a
but
now
you
know
there
are
so
many
injuries
that
we
that
we
could
have
avoided
as
kids
if
we
would
had
the
safety.
So
this
is
so
important
that
parents
and
grandparents
understand
just
because
we
did
it
as
kids
doesn't
mean
that
we
can
just
be
all
out
here.
You
know
doing
the
same
stuff,
yeah
yeah,
so
we
so
this
Spike
safety.
A
So
everybody
if
you
got
grandkids
they're
hanging
out
with
you
this
weekend
from
9:
to
noon,
going
out
there
to
the
buck,
County
training
facility
and
that's
20,
Cano,
canoe,
Lane,
Woodin,
North,
Carolina,
28804
and
think
he
said
100.
The
first
100
youth
from
ages,
5
to
15,
will
receive
a
free
bicycle
helmet
and
it's
so
important
so
important.
So
what
else
we
got
going
on,
L
I
just
saw
you
pick
up.
Another
flyer.
C
Yeah,
so
we
have
three
kids
fishing
tournaments
a
year
and
we
have
two
out
at
Lake
Julian,
and
then
we
have
one
at
Charles,
the
Owen
Park.
This
is
going
to
be
our
last
kids
fishing
tournament
of
the
year
and
this
going
to
be
at
Lake
Julian
on
October
7th,
from
8
to
12.
It's
going
to
be
ages
from
0
to
15
and
so
coming
out.
We've
got
prizes
in
each
age
group
for
biggest
fish
largest
fish
and
most
fish
caught,
wait,
no
biggest
fish,
smallest
fish
and
most
fish
caught.
C
So
it's
a
really
good
time.
We'll
have
snacks
and
drinks
out
there
for
our
to
enjoy,
and
that
is
$10
for
registration,
which
gets
you
a.
C
Other
two
went
great
I,
unfortunately,
wasn't
at
the
last
one
we
did
at
Lake
J,
but
I
was
at
the
one
at
Owen
Park
and
we
typically
get
between
100
150
kids.
At
these
events,
fishing
wow
yeah.
We
get
some
pretty
big
fish
caught
as
well,
so
so
do
they
keep
the.
C
Fish,
they
get
a
you
get
a
bucket
and
you
go
and
cast
and
you
catch
your
fish
reel
it
in
put
it
in
the
bucket,
bring
it
up
to
us,
we'll
measure
it
and
then
write
all
your.
You
know
credentials
down
name
how
big
the
fish
was,
and
then
you
we
put
the
fish
back
in
the
bucket
you
take
it
back,
put
it
back
in
the
LD.
What
kind
of
fish
we
got
in,
so
we've
got
bass,
catfish,
some
crappy,
some
brim
and
some
other
sort
of
stuff.
Okay,.
A
A
Up
it
would
be
cute
if
you
just
gave
us
bags
of
goldfish,
did
not
expire.
C
So
I
will
say
if
you
want
to
we
do
prizes
at
the
end.
So
if
you
are
looking
to
win
a
prize
there,
you
will
have
to
stay
towards
the
end
of
the
day.
Okay,
so
registration
and
checkin
starts
at
7
and
then
the
event
officially
starts
at
8.
That's
when
we
Sound
the
Horn
for
everybody
to
start
fishing.
C
A
Okay,
that's
pretty
cool
all
right,
but
there
are
boat
options
that
you
can
like
take
especially
like
Julian.
You
all
have
a
boat
tour
want
to
talk
about
that
yeah.
C
That's
true,
so
we
do
pontoon,
butt
rides
and
it's
spefically,
for
you
know
Senior
Living
centers
as
well
as
schools
and
stuff
like
that,
and
so,
if
you
want
more
information
about
that,
give
Lake
Julian
a
call
at
828-6847.
C
C
We
do
have
paddle
boats,
we've
got
paddle
boats
and
John
boats
and
paddle
boats.
You
know,
can
fit
four
people.
You
got
to
use
your
legs,
it's
like
a
bite,
yeah
use
your
legs
and
then
John
buts.
Typically,
people
come
and
rent
those
who
are
looking
to
fish
and
they
bring
trolling
motors,
which
is
just
a
motor
with
a
battery,
because
we
don't
allow
any
gas
Motors
on
the
lake
at
Lake,
Julian,
so
yep.
So.
C
B
B
C
Correct
so
following
this
is
this
is
event
that
we
do
every
year
and
we
just
we
this
year,
I
think
we're
closing
the
park
down
to
traffic
and
just
allowing
people
to
walk
through
and
we'll
have
craft
vendors
food
trucks,
we'll
have
some
fun
activity
zones
and
for
people
to
enjoy
we'll
have
like
a
little
Haunted
Trail,
that's
kind
of
little
misleading,
but
it's
just
like
a
trail
with
we've
got
some
Christmas
lights
that
are
like
Halloween
things,
so
we'll
have
those
up
that
you
can
walk
through.
C
C
That's
true,
that's
very
true
and
then
we'll
have
some
pumpkins
for
sale
that
you
can
paint
and
then
that's
pretty
much.
It.
C
A
C
A
So
it
should
be
a
lot
of
energy
and
that's
at
Lake
Julian,
which
is
37
Lake
Julian,
Road,
ardan,
North,
Carolina
28704.
C
C
C
Here
so
we
we
are
still
trying
to
secure
some
parking
U,
but
typically
we
use
that
SD's
parking
lot,
which
is
further
down
Overlook
Road.
Yes,.
C
B
C
Probably
not
doing
car
pumpkins,
but
you
can
like
paint
the
pumpkin
like
you
did
carve
it.
A
Yeah,
you
have
some
very
like
you
know
that
Michael's
carbon
group,
you
know.
C
A
scarecrow
contest
that
goes
on
with
follen,
so
you
can
sign
up
you
either
an
individual
or
a
group.
You
can
sign
up
to
build
the
Scarecrow
and
put
it
on
display
at
the
park
and
that
I
don't
know
the
exact
dates
on
that,
but
everything's
on
our
website.
If
you
want
to
go
check
it
out
and
then
yeah.
A
A
But
you
know,
then
we
found
out.
It
was
only
three,
but
you
know
it's
not
about
it's
not
about.
You
know
the
competition's
not
having
fun
exactly.
C
That
is
open
to
all
residents.
Yes,
that
is
correct.
Anybody
can
sign
up
I'm,
pretty
sure
it
is
free.
So
you
sign
up
get
your
scarecrow.
There
may
be
a
limit
to
people
how
many
people
can
do
their
scarecrows
I.
Don't
know
that
off
the
top
of
my
head.
Sorry
I
a
come
prepared
with
that,
but
yeah
you
can
sign
up
free,
bring
your
scarecrow
and
then
we'll
vote
the
day
of.
C
A
A
C
C
So
something
that
I
I
really
enjoy
that
we
do
as
a
department
and
I
am
actually
the
local
coordinator
for
Special
Olympics
here
in
bunam
county,
and
so
we
have.
We
have
year
round
Sports
going
so
we've
got
some
fall
Sports
going
on
right
now,
with
Special
Olympics,
we've
got
soccer,
going,
we've
Gotti
starting
actually
soccer
started
practice.
Last
night
we
got
bti
starting
practice
this
week
on
Wednesday
tennis
started
practice
last
week,
and
then
we
also
have
basketball
coming
up
in
November
and
December,
and
then
we're
going
to
look
to
go.
C
Take
some
of
our
athletes
to
a
fall
tournament
which
just
brings
all
of
the
counties
within
North
Carolina
and
to
Charlotte
to
compete
super
fun.
So
if
anyone
would
like
more
information
about
that
special
Olympic
stuff,
you
can
email.
B
C
Which
is
just
my
name:
mac.
Stanley,
buun
county.org,
but
yeah
they're,
they're,
great
athletes,
love
them
all.
B
Was
there
some
new
updates
to
the
sports
park.
C
Yeah,
actually,
we
did
get
some
new
updates
to
the
sports
park,
so
we
just
got
three
newly
turf
fields
out
there.
So,
oh
yeah,
we
got
liked
on
them
and
everything
it's
a
big
show.
It's
great
allows
a
lot
more
playing
hours
on
those
fields
rather
than
natural
grass
and
then
we're
having
some
new
bathroom
facilities
getting
built
out.
There.
A
B
B
I
would
just
say,
probably
the
Halloween,
it's
a
good
family
event
to
go
out
to
and
just
enjoy
the
the
colors
and
kind
of
get
into
that.
What
y'all
call
it
the
cookie
spooky
pun.
So
that's
great
on
that
p.
I.
A
B
A
C
A
Encourage
you
know
community
and
Comm,
you
know,
and
sometimes
we
we
need
to
go
back
to
being
a
kid
and
doing
those
things.
I
know
I
will
be
a
princess
for
every
Halloween
event
this
year,
because
it's
the
only
time
I
can
wear
my
crown
and
nobody's
like
what's
wrong.
A
C
So,
let's
see
here.
B
C
A
C
C
With
man
that's
a
great
question,
so
we're
all
about
Community
enrichment
and
we
feel
that
we
have
tailored
most
of
our
programs.
Events
to
that
Community
enrichment.
So
we
just.
C
Come
out
and
see
what
we're
about
and
see
if
you
can
have
a
little
fun
on
a
weekend,
yeah.
B
B
To
book
cali.org
and
look
under
Parks
and
Recreation
and
you'll
find
out
more
information
about
a
lot
of
the
events
that
we
have
in
and
just
as
we
mentioned
earlier,
the
county
does
have
six
Parks,
seven
river
parks.
We
have
pools
when
it's
the
summertime,
as
well
as
three
soccer
field.
So
it's
a
lot
of
stuff
to
get
out
of
the
house
enjoy
and
do
some
of
that
self-care
and
it's
the
f
season
so
get
up.
We
in
these
beautiful
mountains
so
get
out,
take
a
hike
and
take
a
selfie.
A
Yeah
so
I
know
you
all
are
like
how
is
she
going
to
TI
Us
in
I?
Got
you
so
like
I
always
do
I
like
to
put
a
bowl
on
the
end
of
every
show
that
we
do?
Thank
you
so
much
Mac
and
leard
for
your
your
information,
I
like
to
say
this
right
here
so
often
throughout
the
year
we
are
busy
busy
being
adults
and
doing
our
doing
these
things
and
little
scheduled
things
come
up,
but
these
are
so
many
events
that
you
can
take
advantage
of
in
our
community.
A
So
my
advice
to
all
of
buckham
County
because
we
are
one
bunam
every
day
all
day-
is
to
take
advice
from
the
leaves
and
fall
off
into
out
of
your
comfort
zone
and
into
fun
I
I
adise.
You
I,
advise
you
all
to
show
your
best
colors
and
go
out
there
and
just
lighten
up
the
world
and
lighten
up
your
by
exploring
buckham
County
and
all
we
have
to
offer,
and
until
next
time
you've
been
tapped.
