very
thankful
for
our
many
blessings
father,
the
City
of
Burlington
is
a
very
special
place,
a
place
where
we
call
home
where
we
interact
with
our
friends
and
our
neighbors
in
a
place
to
experience
all
the
many
opportunities
that
you
have
provided
to
us.

As
we
continue
to
work
to
improve
our
city
and
the
services
we
provide.
We
ask
your
guiding
hand,
we
ask
for
your
wisdom
and
our
decisions
and
we
ask
for
your
continued
blessings
across
this
world
tonight.
There
are
many
dealing
with
tragedy
tonight
we
ask
for
your
grace
and
your
mercy
on
those
specifically
impacted
by
the
earthquake.
Turkey
and
Syria
police
provide
comfort
and
relief
to
those
who
lives
have
been
torn
apart
by
such
a
tragedy.

I
know
this
is
the
North
Carolina
initiative
the
year
of
the
trail
in
the
state
and
we're
proud
to
be
a
part
of
that.
But
I
want
to
talk
a
little
bit
about
Burlington
and
and
their
activity
and
our
trails
and
Greenways
across
the
city.

So
very
well
done,
project
all
done
by
City
employees,
so
very
proud
of
that,
and
we've
got
a
new
bike
and
trail
that
we
put
in
from
Town
and
Country
Nature
Park
to
downtown
Burlington.
So
we're
proud
of
that.
That's
a
couple
of
the
projects
we've
completed
in
the
greenway
plant
and
we're
working
on
others,
so
we're
very
happy
to
have
the
support
of
the
city
council
and
our
citizens.
We
we're
in
the
process
of
doing
our
master
plan.
We've
already
had
a
lot
of
public
input
meetings.

we're
glad
to
have
our
trails
and
we
appreciate
all
the
support
we
get
from
city
council
and
also
other
City
departments
that
help
us
install
these
trails
and
maintain
them
like
Public,
Works
street
department
and
others
that
have
a
big
hand
in
that
engineering,
designing
them
and
so
forth.
So,

of

fellow

employees,

petition

land,
which
are
contiguous
to
current
city
limits,
located
Southwest
of
the
intersection

zero
Bonner
Bridge
Parkway
and
1729
University
Drive.
The
properties
are
combined
approximately
48
acres
in
size
and
consists
of
Alamance
County
tax
identification
numbers,
106,
949
and
107.041.
At
this
time,
we'll
recognize

planning

associated

this

support
a
development
that
was

recommends
the
annexation
as
this
being
contiguous
to
the
existing
City
Limits.

been
advertised
in
accordance
with
the
requirements

staff

seventh
annual
St
Patty's
Day
bash,
hosted
by

Burlington
Recreation

Parks
Department.
During
that
time
of
the
street
closure
request,
the
roads
will
be
filled
with
all
sorts
of
fun
activities
for
the
community
that
will
be
including
dance
performances,
bagpipers,
stilt,
Walkers,
all
sorts
of
fun
stuff
and
going
along
with
that
request
was
on
Front
Street
and
Main
Street.

Typically,
at
our
special
events,
we
are
able
to
have
alcohol
permitted
on
the
historic
Depot
I
call
it
the
courtyard,
the
brick
Courtyard,
and
we
are
requesting
permission
to
extend
those
premises
during
the
duration
of
this
event.

would
like
to
have
alcohol
present
on
the
entire
footprint
of
the
event,
which
includes
Front
Street,
Main
Street,
as
well
as
that
historic
Depot
Courtyard.

I

want
to
bring
up
and
under
and
our
work
session
last
night
and
certainly
tonight
in
the
consent
agenda,
we
established
some
boundaries
with
ACTA
as
far
as
public
transit
in
Burlington
and
I
did
meet
with
Peter
today
and
one
of
our
County
Commissioners
and
we're
committed
to
act
and
supporting
their
programs
and
Peter.
We
appreciate
you
being
here
and
David
just
for
clarification
for
those
that
may
want
to
know.

asking
for
give
us

priority
list
and
there
we
could
tell
they
were
ready
to
go
to
work
and

help
us
out

that

then
last
night
I
mentioned
some
of
the
concerns
that
was
brought
to
my
attention
on
Rainey
Street
and
the
particular
area
over
there
and
some
initiatives
that
I'd
like
to
see
the
city
provide
from
a
standpoint
of
increased
policing.
We
talked
to
Chief
long
about
that
and
then
Public
Works.
We
talked
with
Gary
and
his
staff
about
what
we
could
do
to
help
out.

if
we

sort
of
craft
an
action
plan
and
I
do
want
to
reiterate-
and
chief
you
mentioned
last
night
Burlington
connected-
is
a
great
resource
for
criminal
activity
to
be
sure
that
we're
following
up
with
the
Burlington
connected,
getting
the
information
out
there
and
then
really
celo
sitting
here,
but
Kathy
talked
about
his
commentary
last
night.
If
you
see
something
say
something
that
was
celo's
catchphrase
for
everyone
when
he
was
up
here
and
that's
what
our
community
needs
to
do.

This
is
our
community
and
it
takes
all
of
us
to
reach
out
and
communicate.
I've
met
with
two
individuals
that
live
in
that
area.
It
was
very
informational
and
I,
appreciate
the
dedication
and
concern
from
those
that
live
in
that
area
and
I
think
body
and
as
our
staff.
We
owe
the
level
of
service
that
our
citizens
really
ask
us
for,
and
that's
the
basic
needs
of
cleanliness
and
police
protection
unless
I'm
sure
that
we
can
deliver
that
at
a
high
level
and
I'm
committed
to
it
in
any
way.

need
to
be

really
is
the
public
sometimes
need
to.
Let
us
know
first
because
live
in
those
communities
are
the
first
ones
that
might
see
these
issues,
issues
that
people
fly
and
grow
and
and
really
create
challenges
for
the
neighborhoods
for
people
of
all
ages.

obviously

opportunities
for
people
to
contact
us
with
situations.

evolutions

technology

getting

better

they're
not
getting
cheaper
and
cheaper

very
affordable,

more
information
on
some
technology
that
allows
police
to
respond
immediately
to
the
sound
of
gun
shows
sorry.
