Namaste and welcome to champlain elementary school welcome to kindergarten.

Let's take a walk, so my name is joe restagini and I am the principal of champlain elementary school and right now we started off in the parking lot where many of you will be dropped off in the morning and we're going to walk back and take a look at the space where we actually meet our classrooms in the morning and get picked up in the afternoon over here.

A

You'll see, kids are doing pe right now, that's charbonneau field and pe happens for kids twice a week, so you get to get outside and play some organized games and it's really fun.

A

Each week, you're going to have specials classes, unified arts classes that are going to include pe, which is physical, education, you're, also going to have music you'll, also have an art, class and you'll also do library which, in library class, you learn a lot about tons of different books, but you also get the chance to do some technology time.

A

So, if you don't know how to use an ipad or a chromebook or if you're, not 60 words, a minute typer you'll get to be there by the time you get to be second or third grade coming to the back of the school, you can see, we've got a great playground and our playground has swing, sets and slides, and all the things that you want to play when you get time during recess recess is a really important time during recess.

You learn, turn taking and how to share with friends and some really important skills that, if you're not perfect at it.

Okay, in the first day of kindergarten, that's okay, because that's part of what we do in kindergarten as we learn those important skills, all right, we're in the back of the school I'm gonna swing around now and you'll see that we've got one two three hey: we got three doors and each one of these doors leads to one of our kindergarten classes in august, when we get together underneath the tent over on charbonneau field, we'll tell you which classroom door that you're going to meet for the first day of school, but for now I just want to say thanks for joining us welcome to kindergarten.

Hey good afternoon, friends of champlain, I am here with chase and lily, and today we are here to talk about the really important things that you need to know when you're going to become a kindergartner at champlain elementary.

Stop it's really important that you practice your abcs.

And have good manners like please and thank you another.

Amazing thing is that school lunch is always an amazing surprise.

And another thing is that you get to pick out a new book from our library every week.

If you ever get hurt go to mr kelly kelly's office, the nurse.

The great thing is, the only thing you need to show up with on the first day is a backpack and a smile teachers will have all of your school supplies for you here.

Don't worry about making new friends there's a lot of interesting people here at champlain elementary.

There's a bathroom in your classroom and all the bathrooms all over the school.

A

Recess is a lot of fun, be safe, be kind and do your best, and the last thing is discovery time. All kindergarten classrooms have discovery time, which is where you get to play with all sorts of really interesting things and share and take turns with new friends, and that is one of our favorite times in kindergarten. Discovery time go discover.

Hi, my name is miss v and I am a kindergarten teacher here at champlain elementary school I've been a kindergarten teacher for about five years now and my most favorite thing about teaching kindergarten is being able to meet new students every year and seeing them grow to become readers and writers, mathematicians scientists, explorers engineers.

I can't wait to meet you guys in the fall and get to learn more about you.

Hi everyone, my name, is miss bella vance and I'm one of the kindergarten teachers here at champlain. uh We can't wait to meet you in august. Kindergarten is just the best year. My favorite part of kindergarten would have to be all the time we get to spend outside. Exploring the playground, champlain woods, the gardens we are going to have the best year. We will see you in august and have a wonderful summer.
