Description
On March 7th and 8th we had some special guests at IAA… the Drum Daddies! The Drum Daddies is made up of Speech (Arrested Development), Manas Itene (Michael Franti and Spearhead), and local social justice activist James Ehlers. Every student was provided the opportunity to drum alongside these international rockstars and the joy and music was infectious.

was
so
awesome
special
to
have
two
world-class
musicians,
manus
and
speech
here
to
play
with
the
kids
and
they
didn't
seem
like
they
were
above
it
at
all.
They
were
right
in
with
with
it
with
the
kids
the
whole
time
they
were
very
humble
and
incredible
musicians.
At
the
same
time,
every
class
was
engaged
the
whole
time
lots
of
smiles.

The
students
in
my
class
had
such
a
great
experience
going
into
the
music
room
and
meeting
speech
from
arrested,
development
and
manas
from
michael
franti
and
spearhead.
They
were
lovely,
engaging
so
excited
to
meet
the
children
and
the
children
had
a
blast.
They
ended
up
doing
all
sorts
of
drumming
and
we
even
listened
to
an
iaa
song
created
on
the
spot.
That
speech
made
up,
they
thoroughly
enjoyed
it
and
it
was
awesome.
