overview.

go

it
briefly.
Thanks

our
audience

won't
go
through
all
the
background,
but
if
you
recall
in
2011,
the
state
did
a
major
overhaul
of
the
teacher
evaluation
process
and
there
were
several
changes
since
then.
I
won't
go
through
all
of
that
background
right
now,
but
I
want
to
give
you
an
overview
of
our
system
and
what
you're
going
to
be
agreeing
to
tonight.

There
weren't
many
changes,
but
we
because
of
the
last
contract
negotiation
with
the
bhta.
We
had
to
revise
our
annual
professional
performance
review,
which
is
the
teacher
evaluation
of
the
principal
evaluation
process.
We
were
still
writing
on
the
2016
regulations
and
until
we
renegotiated
our
contract,
we
didn't
have
to
update
it
to
a
lineup
of
the
2019
regulations,
but
there
were
some
changes
in
that.
So
to
just
give
you
an
overview
again,
so
you
recall,
the
evaluation
system
has
two
parts
to
it
on
evaluating
both
teachers
and
principals.

What
we
agreed
to
with
the
teachers
and
with
the
principals,
not
a
lot
of
changes
or
so
I'll
point
out
where
there
were
changes
from
the
last
appr
that
you
agreed
to
so
for
our
teachers,
I'll
start
with
teachers.
We
have
the
probationary
teachers
receive
three
formal
observations.
That's
like
a
clinical
observation
process
which
starts
with
the
pre-observation
conference,
the
observation
of
a
post
observation
conference
and
one
unannounced
observation.
These
are
minimum.
There
could
be
more
that
occur
and
I
can
tell
you
that
we
are
in
probation.

Is
temporary
because
for
the
independent
observation
you
remember,
we
do
the
waiver
process,
so
we
don't
do
that
anymore,
so
we
don't
have
administrators
traveling
to
other
buildings
and
spending
so
much
time
out
of
the
buildings.

a
post
covid
response
that
we
had
where
we
wanted
to
keep
our
administrators
in
the
building.
We
still
feel
like
that's
the
best
approach.
Every
year
we
can
apply
for
that
waiver
and.

On
structures
that
we've
already
had
for
a
long
time
in
Byram
Hills,
that's
for
probationary
teachers.
They
do
a
portfolio
project
after
every
observation
they
get.
They
reflect
on
that
observation
using
the
rubric
that
we
use
for
Teacher
performance.
That's
Charlotte,
danielson's,
River.
It's
a
state
approved
rubric,
so
teachers
have
to
write
and
reflect
on
the
observation
information
they
get
from
their
teachers
relative
to
the
elements
of
the
rubric.

System
for
about
25
years
now,
I
think
teachers
have
been
doing
a
portfolio
professional
growth
plans
for
principles,
it's
very
similar,
except
we
call
it
school
visits
instead
of
observations
and
it's
the
same
type
of
process.
It's
the
combination
of
school
business
and
student
performance
that
link
to
the
principal
score.
We
did
not
change
anything
in
this
aspect
of
the
observations.
School
visits
for
principals,
it's
the
same
number
of
observations
as
it
was
previously.
What
do
you
observed
like
a
faculty
meeting?
Yeah
I'll
show

that

So
that's
what
we're
basing
the
input
model
on
is
using
these
five
elements
of
their
approved
rubric,
which
talks
about
the
environment
or
the
culture
it
talks
about
the
alignment
of
their
goals
to
the
district
Mission,
their
strategic
planning.
So
what
are
the
plans?
They
have
a
place
to
achieve
their
goals,
their
ability
to
take
action.
Mobilize
people
monitor
their
progress
toward
the
vision
and
then
evaluating
their
own
progress.
So
there's
a
rubric
that
we
evaluate
those
five
criteria
and
that
comprises
the
input
model
and
that's
how
the
second
half
of
their
evaluation
gets
scored.

So
when
I
was
looking
at
this
model,
the
principles
input
model
which
is
now
approved
by
the
state
since
2019
they've
been
allowing
it
I
was
working
with
a
reviewer
on
our
plan
and
they
told
me
on
the
first
school
in
New
York
to
do
the
input
model
really
so
I
was
sort
of
a
test
case,
so
they
were
giving
me
a
hard
time
on
a
few
things
and
I
actually
wrote
back
to
them
and
pointed
out
in
their
q
a
one
that
I
thought.
They
were
wrong
and
said.

Letting
the
teacher
take
action,
so
they
can
work
on
their
own
improvement
with
the
coaching
of
their
principals
and
chairs
and
directors,
as
opposed
to
the
end
of
the
year.
We're
going
to
look
at
a
test
score,
see
how
kids
do
and
then
we
will
assign
you
a
score
based
on
that
that
just
a
model
never
really
worked,
and
it
didn't.
The
data
across
the
state
was
that
it
really
did
not
have
any
impact.
Yeah.
I
So
that
in
the
growth
models
and
all
that
were
just
garbage
environment
out,
but
yet
when
you
think
about,
like
the
massive
amount
of
data
that
you
do
have-
and
it's
not
one
data
point
by
any
strength
exactly,
but
you
have
Regents,
you
have
APS
you
have
grades.
You
have
portfolios
of
work
like
how
do
you
sort
of
get
your
arms
around
using
some
of
that
data
for
this
process?
Even
if
it's
not
for
your
life,
because
it's
not
necessarily
formula
but
still
to
inform
how
we
improve.

Yeah,
so
the
rubrics
behind
this
there
are
rubrics
that
the
portfolio
and
that
the
portfolio
project
and
the
professional
growth
plans
are
rated
that
we
rate
the
teachers
using
a
word
grip
that
we
created
in
that
rubric.
It
has
elements
for
reflecting
on
on
your
professional
practice
relative
to
seeing
improve
student
results.
So
it's
a
matter
of
the
teacher
and
the
administrator
looking
at
what
they
agree
on
is
valuable
information
to
look
at,
and
if
the
teachers
are
doing
that,
then
we
write
them
accordingly
on
that
element
of
the
rubric.

just
going
to
call
the
order
of
that
public
hearing
to
solicit
comments
from
the
public
in
regards
to
the
volunteer,
firefighters
and
influence
workers.
Tax
exemption
of
the
school
district
will
provide
this
tax
exemption
to
the
again
volunteer
firefighters
and
ambulance
workers
for
a
10
reduction
in
their
assessed
value
of
the
property.
In
order
to
qualify
for
this
exemption,
you
must
be.
You
must
serve
in
the
same
community
in
which
you
live
to
be
a
firefighter
or
ambulance.

Worker
again
must
be
your
primary
residence
and
you
need
to
have
a
minimum
service
requirement
of
five
years,
and
so
the
exemption
will
stay
active
as
long
as
you
serve
in
that
capacity.

due
to
that
position.

materials

supplies
will

in
contractual
services

budget
line

rent
the
stadium
light.
So
if
we
have
any
contracts
with

vendors,
that's
in
that
budget
line
and
BOCES
services
with
a
two
percent
standard
increase
for
game
officials
and
the
services
that
we
received
from
Southern
Westchester
BOCES,
the
budgets
of
the
budget
will
continue
to
support.

I
mentioned
a
few
minutes
ago,
66
different
athletic
teams,
grades
7
through
12,
and
within
that
budget
we
have
22
different
sports,
a
hundred
coaching
positions.
If
we
were
to
fill
every
position
that
we
we
have
budgeted
and
it
includes
a
full-time
athletic
trainer
as
well
and
before
the
for
the
Middle
School
tell
you
where
we
are
right
now.
You
know
coming
out
of
the
last
two
school
years
where
numbers
were
down
due
to
the
pandemic.
Our
numbers
are
now
on
the
rise
and
I'm
really
excited
about
the
numbers.

This
year
for
the
Middle
School
for
the
eligible
7th
and
8th
graders
that
participate
in
the
dysplastic
Athletics
at
HCC,
we
have
46
of
the
students,
participate
in
the
fall
25
in
the
winter,
and
36
percent
are
participating
this
spring.
That
includes
the
inter-scholastic
programs
that
we
offer
and
any
intramural
programs
that
we
offer
at
the
high
school.
We
we're
also
adding
numbers
to
the
programs
and
the
students
are
coming
out
for
the
programs.
We
have
42
percent
students
participating
grades
9
through
12
in
the
fall
consistent
with
the
Middle
School.

our

addition

program

added
for
flag
football
for
the
girls
it's
well
received
and
we're
also
ordered
offering
the
same
program
at
the
middle
school

HCC

Girls,
flag

and
boys
volleyball

two
programs
in
our
state

showing

fastest
growth
and

have
a
balance
of

Reserve
property
loss

was
created
four
years
ago.

two
are

tandem

is
for
Employees
Retirement
Systems,

pretty

anybody,
that's

teacher
