Proposed
budget
for
the
2023-2024
school
year
is
99
million,
seven
hundred
and
twenty
five
thousand
thirty
seven
dollars,
which
incorporates
a
2.87
budget
to
budget
increase.
Our
district
goal
is
to
continue
to
provide
a
high
quality,
Byram
Hills
education
in
a
fiscally
responsible
way
reflect
by
our
AAA
Moody's
rating,
a
distinction
granted
to
only
a
handful
of
school
districts.
Our
proposed
school
budget
supports
all
programs
that
promote
students.
B
A
Byram
Hills
budget,
as
separated
by
component,
shows
that
73.1
percent
of
the
budget
is
allocated
for
programs,
15.1
percent
for
Capital
and
11.8
percent
for
administrative
expenses.
Our
estimated
revenue
for
the
proposed
budget
illustrates
that
88
percent
of
funding
is
derived
from
real
property
taxes.
A
The
remainder
of
our
revenue
is
comprised
of
state
aid
at
five
percent
pilot
payments
in
lieu
of
taxes
at
two
percent
are
fund
balance
appropriation
at
four
percent
and
other
revenue
of
one
percent.
By
going
to
our
website,
you
can
stream
our
recent
board
meeting
budget
sessions
where
we
discuss
each
of
these
components
in
much
more
detail.
A
Our
estimated
tax
rates
for
23.24
are
based
on
the
changes
in
assessed
value
in
each
of
the
four
towns
that
make
up
the
Byram
Hill
School
District,
the
increase
or
decrease
in
the
tax
rates
is
per
one
thousand
dollars
of
assessed
value.
The
next
slide
focuses
on
our
tax
rate,
percentage
change
from
2015
to
2024,
showing
the
different
tax
rate
percentage
increases
or
decreases
for
each
town
that
contributes
to
the
Byram
Hill
School
District.
A
B
A
Our
district
enrollment
continues
to
change
with
demographers
telling
us
that
from
now
on,
we
are
going
to
continue
to
see
an
increase
in
enrollment.
This
is
part
of
the
reason
why
the
district
is
proposing
a
1.93
percent
tax
levy
increase,
as
enrollment
has
been
increasing.
Staffing
has
also
increased
right
now,
for
example,
we're
expecting
10
sections
of
kindergarten
again,
as
opposed
to
the
seven
or
eight
sections
we
have
seen
in
the
last
decade.
A
The
administration's
proposed
budget
continues
the
vision
for
our
children.
My
predecessors
have
said
that
every
k-11
student
will
have
the
opportunities
afforded
our
graduating
seniors.
I
say
that
every
student
k-11
will
have
even
more
opportunities
afforded
to
them
than
our
graduating
seniors.
Our
programs
are
The
Benchmark
for
Byram
Hill
success.
B
On
our
website,
please
take
a
look
at
the
curriculum
and
instruction
tab,
an
academic
Department
tabs
to
see
how
departments
have
played
a
role
in
the
development
of
the
children
of
this
school
district.
In
summary,
careful
consideration
was
given
to
continue
responsible
funding
for
those
programs
that
set
our
children
and
our
school
district
apart.
Please
remember
the
budget
vote
and
Board
of
Education

16
2023
polls

Middle
School
from
