A
Ultimately,
though,
we
are
dealing
with
a
global
pandemic
and
must
do
everything
in
our
power
to
meet
the
individual
needs
of
our
children,
while
keeping
them
as
well
as
all
the
other
members
of
our
school
community,
safe
and
healthy.
As
a
school
district,
we
have
been
working
for
months
to
prepare
for
a
return
to
learning
that
will
meet
the
needs
of
all
students.
While
I
know
we
all
have
hope
to
conduct
school
in
person
for
as
many
students
as
possible.
We
also
understand
the
reality
of
our
situation.
A
Besides,
getting
the
knowledge
and
skills
that
will
support
them
for
a
lifetime,
attending
school
provides
students
with
nutritious
meals,
service
for
special
needs,
students
and
social
and
emotional
support
that
encourage
personal
growth.
One
caring
adult
can
truly
make
all
the
difference
in
the
life
of
a
child
that
connection
potentially
has
the
greatest
impact.
If
those
are
adults
are
able
to
interact
with
our
students
in
person,
capital
county
schools
is
ready
and
fully
prepared
to
meet
the
learning
needs
of
all
our
students.
A
We
have
made
an
extensive
investment
in
technology
so
that
every
student
will
receive
a
device
and
their
learning
can
continue,
no
matter
the
model
or
color
code
under
which
we
must
operate
for
in-person
instruction.
We
have
conducted
extensive
staff
development
for
all
employees
on
how
to
properly
social
distance
students
and
what
protocols
must
be
followed
to
minimize
the
spread
of
covet
19..
A
We
have
purchased
hand,
sanitizing
stations
and
advanced
covet,
19
cleaning
devices
for
our
school
buildings
and
our
school
buses,
as
well
as
we've,
also
hired
additional
custodians
to
conduct
frequent
cleaning
throughout
the
day.
We've
ensured
every
school
has
a
trained
school
nurse
to
monitor
illnesses
and
have
employed
a
chief
health
officer
to
act
as
a
liaison
between
local
state
and
federal
health
officials.
A
Through
the
planned
use
of
blended
and
virtual
learning
models,
we
have
greatly
reduced
the
number
of
students
in
our
building
each
day,
so
we
may
be
able
to
better
implement
social
distancing
and
face
covering
guidelines.
Today
we
are
releasing
two
new
tools
on
our
district
website
to
better
assist
our
school
year
ahead.
The
first
is
a
coven
19
case
tracker
for
schools,
so
that
we
can
better
inform
our
community
parents
and
school
staff.
A
If
there
are
positive
cases
at
our
schools,
we
are
also
unveiling
a
tool
for
reporting
concerns
with
district
covet
19
safety
protocols
and
procedures,
so
that
we
can
quickly
address
any
issues.
These
new
tools
will
promote
transparency
and
allow
us
to
respond
quickly
to
the
challenges
we
must
face
together
in
the
new
year.
It
is
during
times
of
great
challenge
that
we
often
find
out
who
we
are
at
our
core
capital
county
schools
at
its
heart
is
all
about
children.
A
Our
caring,
professional
and
service
employees
want
to
see
their
students
grow
into
happy
healthy
adults
and
are
dedicated
to
doing
everything
possible
to
see
they
remain
safe.
We
know
there
will
be
challenges,
however,
as
a
school
district
and
a
community,
we
in
capital
county,
don't
focus
on
barriers
to
our
challenges.
We
see
opportunities,
we
understand,
we
can
transform
long-held
views
of
schools
and
the
role
of
teachers,
students
and
parents
as
a
community.
We
can
make
significant
changes
that
result
in
better
outcomes
for
our
students
and
better
resources
for
our
teachers.
A
Some
of
the
opportunities
we
are
already
embracing
include
an
increased
emphasis
on
personalized
learning,
refinement
of
how
we
assess
student
learning,
increased
utilization
of
digital
platforms
that
improve
communication
between
teachers,
students
and
parents,
and
a
renewed
focus
on
inequities
like
access
to
technology
devices
and
internet
service
working
together,
our
teachers
and
service
personnel
have
continued
to
meet
the
needs
of
more
than
twelve
thousand
capital
county
students.
A
A
A
You're
the
ones
that
are
going
to
make
a
child
know
that
they
are
loved
you're,
the
ones
who
are
going
to
tell
a
fellow
colleague
it's
going
to
be
okay,
you're
going
to
be
the
one
that
truly
makes
a
difference.
While
the
new
school
year
will
be
unusual,
one
thing
has
not
changed:
it's
our
passion
for
creating
world-class
learning
experiences
for
our
children,
so
they
like
many
generations
of
students
before
them,
can
strive
to
be
awesome.
