Description
As school facilities in West Virginia remain closed as part of Governor Justice’s “stay home” order, many parents have questions or concerns about how their children will access online learning, complete assignments or engage with their teachers.
To help those parents with answers, today Cabell County Schools is launching its Connected Classroom project. The goal of this website-based project is to provide families with a central source of information regarding instruction, testing, meal delivery, and social and emotional supports. we
are
truly
on
a
journey
in
uncharted
territory.

we
are
all
in
this
together
and
need

Not
only
are
students
able
to
view
grades
and
updates
from
teachers
on

but
they
will
also
be
able
to
locate
their
distance
learning
assignments.
Our
online
learning
and
grading
platform
Schoology
will
be
housing,
our
distance
learning
assignments
and
additional
resources
that
teachers
have
selected
to
assist
with
those
assignments.

addition
to
those
tasks,
we
have
many
teachers
throughout
the
county,
conducting
live
instruction
conferences
in
order
to
actively
engage
their
students
and
new
skills
and
concepts
or
to
review
prior
material.
We
encourage
our
students
to
stay
updated
daily
on
their
Schoology
accounts
so
that
they
won't
miss
any
of
these
live
instruction
opportunities.
Our
teachers
have
been
dedicated
to
creating
and
maintaining
meaningful
learning
experiences
for
our
students
using
Schoology,
but
we
have
to
remember
that
it
takes
all
of
us
working
together
in
order
to
keep
our
students
learning
and
well
being
as
a
priority.

communication
and
responsible
learning
practices
are
just
three
ways
that
students
and
families
can
aid
teachers
and
schools
and
keeping
the
learning
momentum

their
teachers

or

important

this
time
of
transition
to

learning.

encourage

important

schedule,
students
should
work
independently
to
create
their
own
original
responses
and
products
for
their
courses.
Teachers
will
be
counting
on
students
to
maintain
academic
integrity
so
as
to
keep
all
grading
fair
and

encouraging

learning

and
thoughtful
work.

assignments,
but
they

the

important
skills
being
covered
in
the
online
assignments.
The
distribution
and
collection
of
take-home
packets
are
determined
by
each
school.
