From YouTube: Academies Information
Description
This message from Mr. Cunningham and Mrs. Walters answers some lingering questions students have about scheduling for the new Academies.
A
With
scheduling
Thursday
mr.
Cunningham
and
miss
Walters
decided
to
sit
down
and
talk
about
the
Academy.
Let's
take
a
look
over
the
last
week.
We
brought
you
down
to
the
auditorium
and
we
spoke
to
you
about
academies,
but
of
course
everybody
did
not
receive
all
the
same
information
that
we
want
to
make
sure
we
get
out
to
you.
So
today
we're
just
going
to
talk,
mrs.
Walters
and
myself
about
a
couple
of
things
that
kids
had
questions
about
over
the
last
week.
A
A
A
So
that
is
what
the
Academy
is,
but
that
also
changes
a
little
bit
of
the
structure
of
the
school
instead
of
having
a
principle
that
walks
with
you
throughout
your
years
for
a
grade
level
ii
prince
will
only
be
with
you
from
10th
through
12th
grade,
but
based
on
the
academy
that
you
choose
in
your
ninth
grade
year,
the
same
thing
goes
with
a
counselor,
the
cancers
that
you
have
in
their
ninth
grade
year
and
next
leader
will
have
to
ninth
grade
academy.
Currently,
any
freshman
has
15,
they
will
be
broken
down
differently.
A
You
have
two
counselors
that
will
work
with
oppression
and
one
forget,
so
some
students
will
be
switching
counters
and
some
will
be
switching
pencils
this
coming
year.
That
should
be
that
much
of
a
problem,
all
it
is,
is
switching
the
structure
of
the
administration.
Not
so
much
instruction
of
your
courses
of
courses
are
the
most
important
part
and
that's
what
mrs.
Walters
is
going
to
talk
to
us
about
talking
about
how
it's
going
to
change
your
scheduling
life
so.
B
Basically,
you're
still
going
to
have
your
four
core
classes:
English
math
science
and
social
studies,
and
we
will
help
you
choose
those
based
on
your
previous
year's
classes,
after
that,
when
it
takes
an
elective
classes
and
you're
going
to
have
to
have
four
core
core
classes
that
are
related
to
the
Academy
that
you
choose.
So
if
you
choose
to
health
sciences,
Academy,
definitely
Miami,
you
would
choose
either
a
therapeutic
health
science
which
would
mean
you're
going
into
the
medical
field.
You
could
choose
a
sports
medicine
with
Justin
Ross
or
you
can
choose
the.
B
To
health
and
wellness,
which
lips,
which
would
be
more
like
being
a
fitness
instructor,
and
then
we
will
also
have
the
18
strands
with
my
Academy
there's
also
done
via
fine
arts
and
business
academy,
which
you
take
business,
refine
our
classes
and
we'll
have
a
Human
Services
Academy,
which
will
have
the
JROTC.
It
will
have
the
engineering
strand
and
the
journalism
strand.
Hopefully,
one
of
these
will
suit
your
needs
and
if
not,
there
are
some
academies
at
the
Career
Center
that
you
might
be
interested
in
as
well.
B
You've
gotten
a
book
or
you
should
get
a
book
tomorrow
or
today.
Whichever
way
it
happens
to
get
into
your
hands
and
you're
going
to
get
to
look
through
this
list
to
choose
your
courses
and
then
we're
going
to
meet
with
each
of
you
individually,
either
as
a
library
or
our
office
and
help
you
decide
and
make
these
decisions
great.
This.
B
The
lens
graders
we're
going
to
look
at
the
classes
you've
already
had
and
help
you
try
to
match
that
up
with
an
Academy
in
it.
For
some
reason,
you've
taken
a
little
bit
of
this
and
a
little
bit
of
that.
We
have
something
called
a
liberal
arts
degree
and
we
will
be
able
to
get
you
through
high
school
under
that
degree,
for
10th
graders
it'll
be
the
same
same
situation.
B
We're
going
to
look
at
what
you've
already
had
try
to
help
you
match
it
up
and
you'll
still
have
that
liberal
arts
degree,
but
I
think
you'll
have
enough
time
to
satisfy
one
of
the
other
degrees
that
we're
having
new
and
up-and-coming
for
you.
As
far
as
9th
graders
go,
you
have
to
choose
an
academy
and
we
will
start
getting
you
in
this
class.
So.
A
Every
student,
we
have
a
strain
within
the
academy
and
that
will
start
for
my
critters
next
year.
10Th
graders
should
pick
one
and
should
have
a
class
they've
already
chosen,
that's
going
to
help
work
on
that
strand
and
then
11th
graders
when
opportunity
to
green
bother
them
and
yea
to
another
program.
Thank
you.
Miss
Walters,
as
for
some
students,
still
had
some
questions
they
would
like
to
ask.
A
We
want
to
make
sure
that
all
students
that
have
any
questions
in
the
11th
grade
have
that
opportunity
to
come
down
to
the
wonderfully
for
lecture
hall
and
ask
those
questions.
Were
no
rooms.
Are
the
counselors
and
myself
will
be
available
for
those
students.
We
will
do
the
same
thing
for
10th
graders
this
product,
and
then
we
will
do
the
same
thing
for
freshman
later
next
week
or
get
you
a
date
for
the
next
week.
If
you
share
any
additional
questions
or
your
parents,
please
make
sure
they
contact
us.
Thank
you.
