From YouTube: On the Road: Superintendent's Shadowing Program
Description
Superintendent Ryan Saxe wanted to see what the daily experience was like for students and teachers in the school district, so he asked for volunteers willing to allow him to shadow them. The response was overwhelming, so the Superintendent spent a week going "back to school" and learning from these inspiring individuals. It was a great experience for all! #MyCabellSchools #LoveMyWVSchool

I
know
that
you're
trying
to
go
out
in
every
school
and
I
wanted
you
to
see
what
it
was
like
to
work
with,
like
twenty,
eight
sixth
graders
and
twenty
eighth,
seventh
graders.
It's
it's
a
bit
much,
but
it's
always
intense
fun.
We
have
a
good
time.
We
learn
a
lot.
We
laugh
a
lot
it's
pretty
loud,
but
it's
it's
still
a
lot
of
learning
going
on
and.
C
A
We're
now
at
Milton
Elementary,
where
I'm
ready
to
start
my
day.
You
know
it's
been
a
while,
since
I've
been
an
elementary
student,
so
I'm
really
excited
today.
It's
a
shadow,
an
elementary
student
to
get
a
new
perspective
as
to
what
it's
like
to
be
an
elementary
student
here
in
Cabell
County
I'm
ready
to
get
started.
D
A
D
A
Yeah
and
hoo
hoo,
one
with
math
facts:
yeah
you
did,
you
won
yeah
I
was
impressed.
We
did
a
great
job
yeah,
you
know.
One
of
the
things
I
noticed
in
here
in
your
class
is:
is
that
all
the
students,
all
your
classmates
they're
working
so
hard
and
they
were
very
respectful
of
each
other
and
it
seemed
like
almost
your
fourth
grade
class
was
kind
of
like
a
family.
How
you
describe
it
yeah.
B
A
B
A
B
How
things
run
you
know
here
at
Cal,
Mellon
I
understand
you
know
with
superintendent.
You
do
stay
pretty
well
caught
up
with
stuff,
but
it
gives
us
a
really
good
perspective
on
how
things
are
here
at
the
school
yeah
just
anywhere
from
transitioning
classes,
so
how
we
do
things
in
the
classroom.
What.
B
A
A
So
Kaitlyn
we
have
ended
the
day
and
you
were
the
last
student
that
I
got
to
shadow
which
I'm
going
to
say
some
kind
of
awesome
day.
Today
it
was
really
cool
being
able
to
go
to
your
career
literacy
course
and
then
band
I
got
to
play
the
trumpet
again.
It
was
awesome.
Tell
me:
why
did
you
apply
to
have
me
shadow
you
today,
I
applied.
E
A
A
A
After
a
week-long
of
shadowing
students
and
teachers
throughout
Cavill,
County
I
can
truly
tell
you
that
this
experience
has
been
remarkable
and
has
really
been
a
very
rewarding
experience
that
I'm
going
to
carry
with
me
for
a
long
time.
This
fresh
perspective
of
what
it's
like
to
be
a
faculty
member
or
a
student
here
in
Carroll
County,
is
something
that
I'm
going
to
use
as
we
continue
to
make
decisions
that
are
in
the
best
interest
of
our
schools,
our
students
and
our
employees
from
strategic
planning
to
everyday
decisions.
A
Being
able
to
have
this
fresh
perspective
is
something
that
is
extremely
valuable
and
I.
Look
forward
to
making
this
something
that
I
try
to
do
on
a
consistent
annual
basis,
so
that
I
can
connect
with
the
people,
the
students
and
the
teachers
that
are
making
such
an
impact
in
our
schools
every
single
day.
Thank
you.
