bocc
proclaimed
October
2022
as
domestic
violence,
Awareness
Month
in
Calvert
County,
and
is
working
with
the
commission
for
women
and
Center
for
change
to
end
domestic
violence
in
Calvert.
County
Domestic
Violence
is
the
second
most
prevalent
crime
in
Calvert
County,
in
partnership
with
the
State's
Attorney's
office
and
the
Calvert
County
Courts.
The
commission
for
women
in
the
center
for
change
is
sponsoring
a
domestic
violence,
Awareness
Month
event
on
October
24
2022.

bocc
urges
all
citizens
to
actively
support
efforts
to
end
domestic
violence
and
prevent
harm
to
all
who
live
within
our
communities.
Cyber
security
Awareness
Month
recognition,
the
bocc
proclaimed
October
2022
as
cyber
security,
Awareness
Month
in
Calvert
County.
The
theme
this
year
is
see
yourself
in
cyber.
The
bocc
recognizes
that
it
has
a
vital
role
in
identifying
and
protecting
its
citizens
against
cyber
security
threats,
which
may
have
a
significant
impact
on
our
individual
and
Collective
safety.

Appointments,
William
Rector
was
appointed
and
Joshua
Underwood
was
reappointed
to
the
Sheriff's
Office
Pension
Plan
Board
of
Trustees
and
new
business
department
of
Planning
and
Zoning
historic
preservation,
tax
credit
cases
for
Patuxent
manner.
Patuxent
Manor
was
designated
at
Calvert
County
historic
district
by
the
bocc
Via,
a
county
resolution
in
1974
the
first
property
in
the
county
to
receive
this
designation.
Calvert
County
offers
a
25
percent
tax
credit
for
eligible
restoration
work
done
on
structures
located
within
designated
historic
districts
or
designated
as
historic
landmarks
by
the
county
or
municipalities.

Departments
of
Technology,
Services,
TS,
finance
and
budget
and
human
resources
are
currently
in
the
process
of
implementing
workday
a
new
financial
and
human
resources
management
application,
which
will
help
streamline
processes
for
County
employees
and
save
as
much
as
seven
percent
for
Calvert
County
once
implemented.
Workday
is
a
One-Stop
shop
for
employee
data,
compensation,
recruiting
training
and
finance
information.

timeline
for
deploying
workday
needs
to
be
extended
to
allow
for
the
addition
of
the
Sheriff's,
Office
and
Marine
Museum
processes
to
be
added
to
the
workday
application,
the
revisiting
of
financial
design
decisions
and
changes
in
integration
services
to
maximize
the
benefit
of
the
Project
Extension
out
of
scope
activities,
including
adaptive
insights,
workday,
recruiting
post-production,
Support,
Services,
electronic
tax
filing
and
forms
have
been
added
at
a
minimal
cost.
This
will
extend
the
project
from
the
original
date
of
January
27
2023
to
May
19
2023.

Department
of
Planning
and
Zoning
proposed
Chapter
3
of
the
Calvert
County
code,
adequate
public
facilities,
ordinance
the
department
of
Planning
and
Zoning
proposed
an
expansion
of
the
adequate
public
facilities,
ordinance
APF
within
the
2019
comprehensive
plan
in
1988.
The
county
adopted
APF
regulations
to
help
ensure
schools
and
Roads
would
be
able
to
accommodate
growth.
Apfs
only
include
schools
and
Roads
within
the
current
APF
ordinance.

department
of
Planning
and
Zoning
proposed
a
work
session
with
the
Planning
Commission.
Following
the
review
and
discussion
of
the
proposed
expansion
to
the
comprehensive
plan.
The
proposed
expansion
of
the
APF
within
the
comp
plan
would
include
an
expansion
and
funding
for
water
and
sewer
storm
water
management,
Solid,
Waste
and
Recycling
fire
rescue,
EMS,
Services
law
enforcement

and

each
new

thresholds

regulations.

discussion,
the
bocc
postponed
a
work
session
with
the
Planning
Commission
and
is
scheduling.

review
of
these
proposed
APF
expansions
Department
of
Planning
and
Zoning
Community
rating
system
annual
recertification
as
part
of
the
ongoing
efforts
to
participate
in
the
Federal
Emergency
Management
agencies,
FEMA
Community
rating
system
program,
CRS,
the
department
of
Planning
and
Zoning
is
completing
Calvert
County's
annual
CRS
recertification
FEMA
approved
the
County's
participation
in
the
CRS
program
in
January
2015,
with
an
effective
date
of
May
1st
2015.
Property
Owners,
located
within
the
100-year
floodplain,
receive
an
annual
10
discount
on
their
insurance
premiums
under
the
CRS
program.

As
part
of
the
annual
recertification
process,
the
department
of
Planning
and
Zoning
must
certify
that
it
is
continuing
to
participate
in
the
CRS
program
in
the
same
or
higher
capacity
as
presented
to
FEMA.
At
the
time
of
the
CRS
program,
application
staff
recommended
and
the
bocc
renewed.
The
annual
report
and
CRS
annual
recertification
Office
of
the
County
Administrator
Broadband
cable
build
out
memorandum
of
understanding
with
Comcast
in
August
2021,
the
bocc
removed
the
customer
contribution
and
cost
sharing
requirement
between
the
customer
and
Comcast

justice
program

collaboration
between
the
Calvert
County
Public
Schools,

School
criminal
justice
program

Corrections
Bureau
Community
Supervision
unit.
This
collaboration
is
an
effort
to
involve
the
County's
High
School
aged
youth
in
the
criminal
justice
system,
building
future
careers
and
exposing
them
to
resources.

know
exist.

will
also
assist
incarcerated
adults
awaiting
trial
or
sentenced
in
the
county
to
become
contributing
members
of
the
community.

will
help
them
maintain
employment,

abstinent

involvement
in
the
criminal
justice
system.

grant
would

provide

necessary
funds
to

a
non-profit
organization
affiliated
with
the
housing
authority
of
Calvert
County
and
is
designated
by

bocc

work
with

community
to
further
the
development
of
affordable
housing
options.

transfer

from

those

to

funding
would
increase
over
the

five
years
with

of
that
