state
of
Maryland
has
recognized
the
month
of
April
as
Maryland
archeology
month.
Celebrating
the
importance
of
archeology
by
understanding
the
stories
of
our
past
through
artifacts
left
behind.
It
is
essential
to
celebrate
contrab
abusions
made
for
thousands
of
years
by
those
who
preceded
us,
especially
those
otherwise
forgotten
in
the
texts
of
History.

month
is

April
19th,
the
bocc
voted
and
approved
the
vale
house,
historic
district
designation,
Department
of
Planning
and
Zoning
proposed
expansion
of
Calvert
County's
rural
Legacy
areas.
The
bocc
requested
to
reconvene
the
original
transferable
development
right
TDR
committee
established
in
2015
to
review
the
County's
preservation
efforts
in
the
TDR
program
and
make
recommendations
for
bocc
consideration.
Calvert
County
currently
operates
under
a
public-private
partnership
agreement
with
the
southern
Maryland
resource
conservation
and
development
board,
RC
Andy
to
administer
the
rural
Legacy
program.

The
rla
expansion
proposal
was
included
as
part
of
the
FY
23
rural
Legacy
program,
Grant
application
submitted
to
the
Maryland
Department
of
Natural
Resources
for
review
and
approval
by
rcnd
on
behalf
of
the
county
with
bocc
approval.
The
rla
expansion
proposal
received
approval
from
the
Maryland
Board
of
Public
Works
on
October
8
2022.

The
bocc
expressed
its
wishes
to
enhance
transparency.
On
numerous
occasions.
It
has
been
recommended
that
the
board
consider
the
adoption
of
local
policies
and
procedures
to
implement
the
Maryland
Public
Information
Act
mpia,
to
educate
the
public
on
local
government
operations
and
available
resources
without
unduly
burdening
the
county
taxpayers
in
October
2022.
The
bocc
directed
that
a
public
survey
and
solicitation
of
input
from
stakeholders
be
performed
before
seeking
approval
to
advertise
for
a
public
Hearing
in
coordination
with
Communications
and
media
relations.
A
Public
input
was
sought
and
Direct
Communications
were
sent
to
the
Calvert
County
chapter
of
League
of
Women
Voters,
the
public
Justice
Center,
the
Center
for
Public
Integrity,
the
ACLU
Maryland
and
the
mddc
Press
Association.
A
public
survey
was
published
on
the
County
website
and
closed
on
February
and
13
2023..
A
No
substantive
comments
or
feedback
have
been
received
after
public
hearing
and
discussion
staff
recommended
and
the
boc
see
approved,
emotion
to
record,
approve,
adopt
and
enact
the
provisions
as
a
new
chapter,
96
of
the
county
code,
Department
of
Finance
and
budget
public
hearing
board
of
education,
budget
adjustment,
Plum
Point
Elementary,
the
FY
23
capital
budget,
Bill,
SB,
291
appropriated
237
million
dollars
to
be
distributed
to
specified
local
education
agencies
for
school
construction
projects
selected
by
County
governments.
Allocations
to
selected
projects
will
be
made
as
block
grants
and
a
local
match
is
not
required.

Department
of
Finance
and
budget
and
the
Boe
requested
approval
from
the
boccc
to
apply
for
the
above
mentioned
Grant
in
the
amount
of
161
696
dollars.
The
funding
will
be
allocated
to
the
primary
playground
replacement
project
at
Plum,
Point
Elementary
School
and
must
be
encumbered
in
FY
23
upon
approval
of
the
grant
The
Plum
Point
Elementary
School
primary
playground.

Department
of
Human
Resources
amendment
to
chapter
86
personnel,
Calvert,
County
code,
K9
Handler
pay
to
compensate
handlers
for
care
and
maintenance
of
their
dog
during
normal
work
hours,
Department
of
Planning
and
Zoning.
Seventy
five
thousand
dollar
Grant
application
for
non-title
water
monitoring,
all
consent
items
were
adopted
as
presented.

input
to
identify
issues.
Women
are
facing

for
