purpose

option

center

Prince
Frederick
wastewater
treatment
plant
number
one
in
Prince
Frederick,
an
environmental
phase.

One
study
was
conducted
and
determined
that
the
property
meets
satisfactory
standards
during
the
study
period.
No
obstacles
to
the
future
use
of
the
property
as
a
County
government
property
have
been
discovered.
Staff
recommended
the
bocc
move
forward
with
purchasing
these
properties.
The
agreed
sale
price
is
two
million
one
hundred
and
eighteen
thousand
dollars
a
fifty
thousand
dollar
deposit
is
given
when
the
option
agreement
is
signed.

Funding
is
currently
available
in
the
account
after
a
public
hearing
staff
recommended
and
the
bocc
exercise
the
purchase
option
and
authorize
the
board
president
to
sign
the
purchase
and
sale
agreement.

informed

funding

Northern
Middle
School
planning,

Point
Middle
School
HVAC
systemic
Phase,

replacement
in
the
Mary
Harrison
Center
partial
re-roofing,
Mutual
Elementary
School,
well
replacement
system,
priority
34,
for
which
Calvert
County
government
has
already
committed
100
of
the
local
allocation
requested
for
FY
22
and
Sunderland
Elementary
School
HVAC
systemic
design.
Priority
five
have
been
added
to
the
state
CIP
request
as
new
projects.

boe's
recommended
budget
for
the
fy24
capital
Improvement
plan
is
six
million

297,
which
is
an
increase
of
approximately
1.3
million
from
the
FY
23
CIP
request.
The
local
County
share
of
the
request
is
2
million
two
hundred
and
twenty
six
thousand
and
forty
dollars,
while
the
requested
State
share
is
four
million.
Seven
hundred
and
twenty
three
thousand
two
hundred
and
fifty
Seven
dollars.
The
boes
CIP
budget
typically
includes
financial
support
from
both
the
local
and
state
levels.

local
support
is
funded
by
debt
and
excise
tax,
while
the
state
support
is
listed
under
grants,
slash
other
staff
recommended
and
the
boc
CC
agreed
to
sign
the
revised
IAC
letter
of
support
for
the
boe's
fy24

Construction
program,
Department
of
Community
Resources,
repeal
and
reenact
Social
Services
resolution
38-93
in
October
1993.
The
bocc
adopted
resolution
38-93
pertaining
to
the
creation
of
procedures
for
the
appointment,
evaluation
and
removal
of
a
Calvert
County
Board
of
Social
Services
director.

The
resolution
outlines
specific
procedures
that
have
changed
as
a
result
of
guidance
from
the
Department
of
Human
Services
DHS
staff
and
after
reviewing
section
3-501
of
the
Human
Services
article
of
the
annotated
code
of
Maryland
at
its
January
19
2023
meeting
the
Calvert
County
Social
Services
Advisory
board
ssab
approved
the
following
key
changes
to
reflect
the
updated
resolution
and
Exhibits
the
structure
and
composition
of
the
SS

b.
It
proved
as
the
duties
and
tenure
of
its
members
were
added.
Social
Services,
director
recruitment
is
done
online
now,
rather
than
through
a
search
committee.

Social
Services
director
evaluation
process
was
updated
to
reflect
state
code
requirements
and
the
DHS
current
procedures
designating
and
acting
or
interim
director
was
added
as
an
option.
Following
a
removal.
The
bocc
authorized,
the
repeal
of
resolution
38-93
and
the
reenactment
of
an
updated
resolution
with
amendments
recommended
by
the
social
services
Advisory
Board
and
approved
for
legal
sufficiency,
Department
of
Economic
Development
tourism,
development,
incentive
fund
guidelines
and
application,
ordinance
36-22
established
a
tourism
development
incentive
Fund
in
Calvert
County
and
requires
revenue
from
the
County's
Accommodations
Tax
to
be
distributed
into
that
fund.

According
to
the
previously
approved
ordinance,
the
tourism
development
incentive
fund
shall
be
distributed
as
follows.
Five
percent
to
the
County's
general
fund
for
administration
of
the
Accommodations
Tax
monthly,
to
municipalities
in
the
county,
revenues
from
accommodations
and
each
town
and
up
to
20
percent
of
the
remainder
will
be
available
to
businesses
and
organizations
wishing
to
hold
a
special
event
in
the
county
to
assist
in
payment
of
application.

Permit
and
support
service
fees
required
by
the
county
to
hold
a
special
event
in
the
county
and
remaining
funds
will
be
utilized
to
Market
Calvert
County
to
encourage
tourism
and
engage
potential
visitors.
A
twenty
five
thousand
dollar
Grant
may
be
awarded
per
organization
per
fiscal
year
to
businesses
and
organizations
for
County
services
rendered
in
support
of
a
valid
and
complete
Calvert
County
Special
Event
permit
application
subject
to
the
availability
of
funds.
The
approved
award
amount
will
be
transferred
directly
from
the
Department
of
Economic
Development
to
Calvert
county
Support.

requested
staff,
reallocated
American
Rescue
plan
act,
funding
to
support
software
acceleration
in
FY
23
and
began
the
implementation
of
educational
resources
for
residential
and
Commercial
customers
to
increase
awareness
and
transparency
over
the
past
month.
Dpw
has
worked
with
a
consultant
and
multiple
County
departments
to
prepare
an
updated
rate
study,
public
education
resources
and
to
improve
the
County's
water
in
sewage
billing
software,
where
a
rate
study
began
on
February
2023
and
will
provide
information
on
the
rate
structure
and
rates
based
on
water
usage.
The
rate
study
is
a
10-week
process.

Communications
and
media
relations
began
the
creation
of
educational
videos
which
are
scheduled
for
release
this
spring
technology.
Services
began
work
on
enhanced
billing
software.
This
is
estimated
to
be
an
18-month
process.
The
informational
update
by
the
Department
of
Public
Works
is
part
of
an
ongoing
directive
by
the
bocc
to
share
developments
surrounding
the
creation
of
a
new
resolution
to
replace
resolution
32-16.
