tradition

swearing

sheriff's
deputies
in
front

bocc
upon
completing
their
entry-level
training.

practice
provides
a
venue
for
the
new
deputies,
their
families,
friends,

deputies,

bocc

the

allocate

portion

the
hotel
tax
to
fund
33,

provide
grants

businesses

organizations

pay
the
application
and
permit
fees
required
by
the
county
to
hold
a
special
event
and
to
market
calvert.
County
hb842
was
written
that
the
balance
of
the
collections
be
distributed
to
fund
33
after
the
required
distributions
are
made
to
the
municipalities
for
the
revenue
attributed
to
the
hotel
located
in
the
municipalities
and
a
reasonable
administrative
fee
be
distributed
to
the
general
fund,
which
equals
five
percent
in
fy
2023.

timothy

were
appointed
to
the
calvert
county
ethics
commission,
a
new
business
memo
from
john
norris
on
behalf
of
the
calver
county
ethics
commission
ethics
code,
amendment,
the
calvert
county
ethics
commission,
has
delegated
authority
to
implement
the
local
ethics
code
and
recommended
actions
to
uphold
the
public
trust.
The
ethics
commission
seeks
14
recommended
amendments
to
the
local
ethics
code
required
by
changes
to
state
law
and
some
that
have
been
recommended
by
the
state
ethics
commission.

reviewed
and

amendments
subject

a
future
public
hearing
and
subsequent
bocc

memorandum

education
for
mutual
use
of
facilities,
beginning
in
2017,
the
department
of
parks
and
recreation.
Ccpr
worked
with
the
board
of
education
of
calvert
county
boe
on
a
memorandum
of
understanding
mou
to
formalize
the
mutual
use
of
public
facilities
operated
by
both
the
boe
and
ccpr.

The
mou
expired
august:
31st
2022,
ccpr,
utilizes
indoor
facilities
to
operate
programs
for
community
benefit,
such
as
basketball,
cheerleading
and
wrestling
the
department
also
utilizes,
and
maintains
outdoor
facilities
at
11
locations.
Four
programs
that
provide
community
benefit
such
as
baseball
soccer
and
lacrosse,
the
boe
utilizes,
the
edward
t,
hall
aquatic
center
and
chesapeake
hills.
Golf
course
for
high
school
sports
teams
to
practice
and
hold
competitions.
Ccpr
is
charged
for
use
of
indoor
school
facilities
after
normal
hours
of
operation
to
offset
direct
expenditures.
This
can
range
from
7
000
to
10
000
per
season.

use
of
county
facilities
for
the
boe
include
no
cost
for
use
of
the
edward
t
hall
aquatic
center
and
chesapeake
hills
golf
course
for
high
school
teams.
If
applying
the
reduced
rate.
This
is
an
approximate
annual
loss
and
revenues
of

for
the
edward
t,
hall
aquatic
center
and
10

for
the
chesapeake

recommended
and

bocc
approved
execution
of
the
mou
with
a
new
expiration
date
of

with
the
calvert
county
board
of
education
regarding
shared
use
of
facilities
for
recreation
purposes,

fund
county
bonds.
There
are
several
projects
in
the
fy
23
capital
budget
that
will
be
funded
through
the
sale
of
general
obligation,
bonds,
go
bonds
in
the
event,
funds
are
expended
for
projects
prior
to
the
bond,
sale
or
loan.

resolution
of
intent
to
reimburse
is
required
to
reimburse
the
general
fund
once
the
bonds
have
been
sold.

are
capital
improvement

annual
update
to
the
bocc
topics
discussed
include
addressing
violence
against
women,
recognition
of
women
and
girls,
community
service,
women's
health,
legal
and
legislative
monitoring,
among
others.

the
2022
election,

gayle,
hatfield,
calvert,
county
elections,
administrator,
provided
a
presentation
on
early
vote
sites,
dropboxes
polling
locations,
2018
to
2022,
voter
turnout,
comparisons
and
important
updates
for
the
upcoming
november
election
in
other
calvert
county
local
news.

bocc
announced
the
appointment
of
stephen
perea
as
the
county
government
director
of
the
department
of
technology
services
over
his
21-year
career
peria,
has
overseen
and
implemented
business
technology
change
in
the
government
and
private
sectors.

his
previous
role
as
deputy
director
for
technology
services,
he
was
responsible
for
technology
budgets
and
contracts,
records
management
and
implementing
new
information
technology
policies,
standards
and
training
within
calvert
county
government
pierra
holds
a
master
of
business
administration
degree
in
technology
management
from
national
chiang
chi
university
in
taipei,
taiwan.
He
recently
completed
the
senior
executives
in
state
and
local
government
executive
program
at
the
harvard
university
john
f
kennedy
school
of
government.
He
is
also
a
certified
project
management
professional
and
is
information
technology
infrastructure
library
certified
pump
for
the
bay
2022
contest.

age-friendly
community
initiative
will
work
to
enhance
housing,
public
transportation,
health
services
and
more
that
will
enable
older
adults
to
continue
to
live
in
their
own
home
if
they
choose
with
the
resources
and
support
needed
to
maintain
a
high
quality
of
life.
More
than
22
000
adults
aged
60
and
older
currently
live
in
calvert
county,
which
makes
up
nearly
a
quarter
of
the
county's
total
population.
This
number
is
projected
to
increase
by
over
30
in
the
next
25
years.

kick
off
community
discussion
on
thursday

29th
