Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
B
For
which
it
stands,
one
nation,
under
god
indivisible
with
liberty
and
justice
for
all,
would
you
bow
for
prayer,
heavenly
father?
We
ask
your
blessings
on
us,
as
we
have
been
called
to
lead
the
city
of
canton
in
which
we
live
work
and
play
help
us
not
to
ask
first.
How
do
we
fix
this?
But
what
do
we
need
to
learn?
How
might
we
need?
What
might
we
do
to
change
and
to
whom
do
we
listen
remind
us
that
no
matter
in
which
area
of
the
city
we
live?
B
Everyone
is
our
neighbor
and
we're
called
to
respect
and
protect
the
least
of
those
among
us.
We
realize
we're
servants
and
it's
our
responsibility
to
serve
the
common
good
of
all
grants,
us
wisdom
and
courage
to
know
and
do
what
is
right.
Good
and
true,
may
we
speak
when
it
is
time
to
speak
out
and
listen
patiently
and
receptively
when
it
is
time
to
listen
and
may
we
always
be
guided
by
your
spirit
of
love.
This
we
pray
in
the
name
of
the
heavenly
father
who
is
sacred
and
holy
amen.
A
C
D
B
A
Promotion,
a
second
all
in
favor,
say
aye,
close
name.
All
members
voted
for
the
motion
this
evening.
We
have
some
special
employee
recognition.
Chief
maryville.
Oh
sorry,
I
just
got
that
email.
So
please.
If.
C
You,
if
you
will
chief
mayorfield,
unfortunately,
cannot
be
with
us
this
evening.
He
had
a
very
important
announcement
wanted
to
recognize
one
of
our
members
that
she
too
could
unfortunately
not
be
be
with
us
today,
but
miss
tanya,
lada,
tanya,
bonilla
she's
been
with
the
city
for
15
years,
and
it's
just
one
more
example
of
all
the
staff
here
that
we've
got.
You
know
tenured
service
with
the
city,
so
we
want
to
recognize
her
in
the
15
years
of
work
that
she's
committed
to
the
city
of
kent.
A
F
F
A
G
A
Yes,
I'm
sorry,
I
guess
we
need
to
open
the
public
hearing
for
public
sorry,
so
we
had
no
one
sign
up
so
to
speak
in
favor
or
against
so
we'll
close
public
hearing.
I'm
sorry
that
was
my
bad.
That's!
Okay,
we'll
open
up
for
council.
G
So
what
I
already
said,
do
you
want
me
to
say
it
again?
I
would
move
to
approve
these
ordinance
changes,
okay,
go
ahead
and.
A
H
A
F
As
the
mayor
stated,
this
is
again
on
the
agenda
as
an
informational
item.
It's
pod
j
for
riverstone,
the
current
approved
uses
for
the
particular
pod
are
commercial
in
office.
This
master
plan
amendment
seeks
to
add
residential
as
an
approved
use
and
also
the
conditional
use
permit
because
they're
looking
to
build
172
townhomes
on
the
project
and,
as
you
stated,
this
will
come
back
before
the
mayor
and
council
on
july.
The
7th
that's
a
public
hearing.
E
This
this
saturday,
from
one
to
five
down
at
the
mill,
there's
going
to
be
a
june
celebration
put
on
by
the
cherokee
county
naacp.
E
I
encourage
everybody,
there
will
be
food,
vendors
and
retailers
should
be
a
big
party.
Building
on
the
juneteenth
celebration
from
last
year.
Appreciate
council
support
for
that.
Yes,.
A
We
have
two
citizens
signed
up
for
public
input.
First
being
mr
zachary
wilson,.
A
I
My
name
is
zachary
wilson,
I'm
over
at
106
generals
place
here
in
canton
over
in
the
river
green
community,
I'm
not
even
sure
if
I'm
in
the
right
spot,
I
was
just
coming
to
you
guys,
hopefully
get
some
support
and
get
some
help.
I
had
a
problem
at
my
house
as
far
as
sewage
backing
up
and
pretty
much
exploding
out
all
my
showers,
my
bathtubs,
my
toilets
everything.
I
The
same
issue
happened.
A
year
ago,
on
april
8th,
we
had
a
plumber
come
out
check.
Everything
out.
We
had
to
the
city,
plumbers
come
out
as
well
and
admit.
Yes,
this
was
our
responsibility.
It's
a
clog
in
the
main
line
that
is
causing
everything
to
shoot
up
through
your
house.
They
cleared
it
out,
they
didn't
scope
out
any
of
the
plumbing
or
anything
like
that
at
the
time
again,
this
april
now,
almost
one
year
later,
the
exact
same
thing
happened
again:
mainline
sewage
exploding
into
my
house.
I
A
J
Good
afternoon,
mr
mayor
members
of
council,
my
name
is
thomas
weaver.
I
reside
at
131
old,
marietta
road
here
in
canton
georgia,
and
please
excuse
me
if
I'm
a
little
winded
or
drained
I've
just
put
in
a
10
hour
shift
entirely
outside
since
5
30.
This
morning,
however,
would
council
be
behooved
to
learn
that
there's
actually
been
a
rash
of
graffiti?
That's
cropped
up
along
the
sunny
side
corridor
of
our
community,
and
this
is
particularly
concerning
to
me.
J
That's
been
located
along
railroad
street
and
it
just
makes
me
stop,
and
I
worry-
and
I
wonder
I
know
the
rules,
but
I
just
I
worry
that
when
the
the
city
wants
to,
I
know
that
we
all
have
to
continue
to
grow
and
be
successful,
and
just
like
council
member
wilson
said
when
joellen
prayed,
we
want
to
be
a
place
where
people
can
live
and
work
and
raise
a
family.
J
I
just
worry,
if
that's
not
commiserate
to
that
goal,
and
I
know
that
not
blaming
council
that
was
located
on
private
property
and
I
get
it.
I
expect
to
see
that
on
maybe
patriot
rail
cars,
the
underpass
some
bridge,
maybe
in
a
very
downtown,
very
urban
metropolis
core,
like
downtown
atlanta
you'd,
expect
to
see
that
there.
J
But
here
that's
strange,
that's
peculiar!
That's
not
the
canton
that
I
know
and
love,
and
I
don't
think
that's
the
canton
that
any
member
of
council
or
the
city
would
want
to
share
with
their
loved
ones
or
their
children
or
their
grandchildren
or
any
member
of
the
audience
rather
not
to
not
to
mention
you
know,
anyone
else
that
has
to
live
in
the
sunny
side,
which
actually,
as
you
know,
is
a
minority
and
they
stand
to
be
more
disproportionately
harmed
because
they
have
to
see
that
stuff
every
day.
J
And
I
just
worry
that
this
is
the
collateral
consequence
of
what
happens
when
we
continue
to
pack
more
people
into
a
smaller
space,
because
with
that
growth
with
that
added
population
comes
those
problems,
and
I
just
want
council
to
please
slow
down
and
for
once,
mash
the
brakes,
not
the
gas
and
and
let's
keep
the
car.
That
is,
the
city
on
the
road
map
to
success
and,
let's
not
just
continue
to
just
grow
in
leaps
and
bounds
and
continue
to
have
more
population
more
just.
J
I
think
that
if
we
want
the
city
to
be
a
place,
that's
special.
I
know
that
none
of
you
ran
for
office
because
you
wanted
canton
to
fail.
You
wanted
canton
to
be
successful
if
you
want
canton
to
stay
that
special
place
to
have
that
southern
town
charm
to
be
the
coolest
community
right,
you
want
that.
Well,
I
do
too.
J
F
Thank
you
again.
As
you
just
stated,
this
is
a
conditional
use
permit
for
an
apartment
complex,
consisting
of
296
units.
There
has
been
much
discussion
on
this
project
as
to
the
ingress
egress
points
and
how
they
would
accommodate
those.
There
was
a
suggestion
that
part
of
that
may
come
from
the
school
board
property.
It's
my
understanding
through
information
received
from
the
applicant
that
they
have
pretty
much.
F
F
The
point
of
entrance
into
the
possible
apartments
and
the
point
of
entry
to
the
school
board
property
will
meet
the
fire
codes
requirement
in
terms
of
distance.
There
has
been
some
discussion
as
to
the
construction
of
the
roadway.
Mr
cool
has
stated
that
it
will
need
to
meet
certain
requirements,
such
as
the
ability
to
accommodate
a
70,
000
pound
vehicle
being
an
all
surface
road
and
those
will
be
addressed
if
this
gets
approved
and
when
they
submit
a
land
disturbance.
F
Permit
course
he
will
review
that
to
make
sure
they're
in
clients,
in
compliance
with
the
ifc,
in
your
list
or
in
the
staff
report.
The
staff
recommends
approval
of
this
application
and
we
had
listed
four
possible
conditions,
and
I
have
come
up
with
a
fifth
one
that
I'd
like
to
read
out
tonight
for
the
record.
F
The
first
one,
the
native
plant
rescue
society
shall
be
allowed
access
to
the
property
prior
to
any
land
disturbance
in
order
to
search
for
and
rescue
any
endangered
plants.
The
owner
developer
shall
contribute
250
dollars
per
unit
to
the
cherokee
county
school
district.
As
noted
in
william
j
c
ring's
letter
dated
april
27,
2022
prior
to
the
issuance
of
a
land
disturbance
permit
a
relocation
plan
for
the
current
residents
shall
be
furnished
to
the
mayor
and
city
council
for
review
and
approval
number
four
a
little
redundant.
F
F
K
A
F
Has
stated
this
is
a
request
to
amend
the
allowed
uses
in
pod
b
of
the
laurel
canyon
development.
Mr
baggio
is
looking
for
permission
or
the
the
ability
to
operate
a
brewery
at
the
laurel
canyon
village
shopping
center.
There
had
been
some
discussion
as
to
some
outdoor
use.
What
the
inside
of
the
property
would
look
like.
Mr
baggio
provided
a
response
to
that
which
I
afforded
to
the
marion
council,
and
that
is
up
tonight
for
a
vote.
H
Mr
green,
I
know
I
asked
a
question
similar
to
this
last
time.
This
brewery
is
slated
to
go
at
the
very
end
unit
where
the
dry
cleaners
was
supposed
supposed
to
be.
Yes,.
F
F
B
H
A
F
As
you
stated,
this
is
two
applications
involving
two
separate
properties
that
are
involved
in
a
single
development,
an
expansion
of
an
existing
development.
There
850
was
filed
first,
it
was
a
rezoning
request
to
go
from
ort
to
ra8,
which
would
allow
the
types
of
developments
that
mr
latimer
has
customarily
done
through
town
during
his
discussion
with
hud
housing
and
urban
development.
They
had
suggested-
or
I
don't
know,
just
use
the
word
strong-armed
into
getting
some
quadplexes
put
in
there
as
part
of
the
development.
F
That
being
the
case
in
order
to
get
the
funding
they
have
submitted
the
conditional
use
permit
because
a
quadplex
is
a
multiple
family
building.
During
the
public
hearing,
we
had
some
concerns
from
some
of
the
neighbors.
Mr
latimer
has
agreed
to
the
fence,
and
the
plantings
he's
also
agreed
to
installing
the
transit
stop
out
on
marietta
road
staff
recommends
approval.
F
All
right,
the
first
recommended
condition
was
the
applicant:
shall
install
a
six-foot
privacy
fence
along
the
southern
property
line,
the
decorative
side
of
the
fence
she'll
face
towards
the
property
line
of
870
marietta
road,
a
row
of
evergreen,
shrubs,
leland,
cypress
or
arborvitae
shall
be
planted
on
the
inside
of
the
privacy
fence.
These
plantings
shall
be
six
foot
in
height
at
time
of
planting
and
shall
be
installed
on
six
foot.
Centers
number
two:
the
owner
developer,
shall
install
one
transit
stop
as
required
by
the
overlay
zone.
Community
standards
ordinance.
A
A
G
Yes,
I've
had
some
questions
come
up
and
just
would
like
some
more
time
to
get
some
more
information
on
this
development
and
I'd
like
to
move
that
we
table
this
proposal
until
our
second
meeting
in
july,
which
is
july.
A
F
All
greene,
mr
mayor,
as
you
stated,
this
is
a
proposal
for
a
124
unit
development
along
dr
john
t,
pettit,
cherokee,
street
and
longview
drive.
The
applicant's
original
intention
was
to
use
low
impact
development
technologies
that
has
come
under
question
as
to
the
feasibility
and
the
practicality
of
using
those
here
on
this
particular
piece
of
property.
F
F
F
The
development
standards
received
on
june
8
2022
from
the
applicant
shall
be
used,
provided
such
standards
are
approved
by
the
applicant
civil
engineer
and
the
city
engineer
of
the
city
of
canton.
Should
these
proposed
development
standards
not
be
approved,
the
owner
developer
shall
adhere
to
the
adopted
development
code
and
standards
of
the
city
of
canton.
F
All
roadways,
storm
water
system,
trails,
etc
shall
be
maintained
by
the
homeowners
association.
The
hoa
shall
be
established
and
recorded
prior
to
the
issuance
of
the
first
building.
Permit
all
interior
roadways
and
alley
shall
be
private.
This
will
be
a
gated
community
and
the
international
fire
coast
you'll
be
adhered
to
again,
number
seven
is
kind
of
redundant,
as
that
has
is
a
given
they.
They
have
to
adhere
to
that.
G
H
H
I
couldn't
hear
you
very
well.
Did
you
mention
if
this
neighborhood
will
be
gated
or
not.
E
I'd
just
like
to
take
a
moment
to
talk
about
this
has
been
a
long
road.
We've
had
this
on
floating
around
for
months
talking
about.
Initially,
there
were
multiple
entrances
on
longview
street
another
on
cherokee
and
the
applicant's
done
a
fine
job
hearing
from
residents
hearing
from
staff
hearing
from
council
and
making
modifications
to
find
something.
E
A
I
agree:
it's
been.
It's
been
a
good
team
effort.
I
think
a
lot
of
give
and
take
on
on
behalf
of
the
developer
a
lot
of
issues.
I
think
the
the
intent
is
to
bring
a
really
high
quality
residential
product
to
to
downtown
canton
and
on
a
piece
of
property
that
has
not
been
utilized
in
the
past,
which
I
think
is
exciting
in
a
lot
of
ways,
and
I
think
the
staff
has
worked
to
make
sure
that
that
quality
would
be
insured.
A
D
Thank
you
mayor,
appreciate
your
words
there.
Mr
carl.
I
agree,
you
know
this
is
a
high
quality
product
and
it's
going
to
be
a
high
quality
product,
and
you
know
the
applicant
definitely
demonstrated
some
flexibility
and
and
willingness
to
work
with
the
city.
I'm
glad
we
landed
where
we
did
in
terms
of
the
design
and
some
of
the
features
that
that
will
encompass
this
property.
D
And
as
conditions
that
mr
green
stated
yes
thank
you
mayor.
Okay,
second,.
M
I'm
asking
for
council's
approval
to
let
the
mayor
sign
a
resolution
to
transfer
three
million
dollars
from
the
splost
fund
to
the
general
fund
for
reimbursement
of
the
purchase
of
at
bluffs
parkway.
If
you'll
recall,
this
is
the
purchase
of
the
324
acres
that
was
cost
just
a
little
over
10
million
dollars
november
2021.
A
A
C
C
You
up
here
no
I'll
I'll
keep
from
going
over
the
the
whole
process.
It's
been
a
lengthy
one.
We
did
an
rfp
got
a
couple
of
proposals
back
at
the
last
meeting.
We
were
very
appreciate.
The
waste
pro's
time
they
came
out,
gave
a
presentation
to
the
staff
and
wanted
to
mention
the
council.
C
We
have
a
contract
we
received
one
earlier
this
week,
but
I
want
the
opportunity
to
review
that
to
have
mr
dyer
review
that
so
what
I
propose
is
I'm
going
to
read
a
motion
here
in
just
a
minute,
I'll
ask
for
council's
consideration,
but
I
will
bring
back
the
contract
after
we've
had
an
opportunity
to
review
it
I'll
bring
that
back
on
july.
7Th
for
a
potential
motion
to
have
mayor.
Sign
proof,
that's!
E
Some
residents
are
going
to
see
their
costs
go
down
with
this
process
and
I
think
that's
a
not
something
that
anybody
expected
at
the
beginning
of
this
project.
So
I
think
I
do
appreciate
everybody's
work
with
this
and
the
hard
work
that
went
into
it.
This
was
mr
ingram's
continued
efforts
to
make
sure
this
is
going
to
be
as
smooth
as
a
transition
as
possible
with
approval
and
for
that
I'll
see.
If
there's
any
other
comments,
but
do
you
mind
coming
back
to
me?
I'm
not
making
a
motion.
A
Well,
I
just
I
just
want
to
what
mr
carlin
said
that
I
think
going
into
this.
We
were
all
very
intimidated
by
the
process,
knowing
what
we
went
through
last
time
and
knowing
what
the
consequences
may
be
for
sanitation
services
and
the
cost
involved,
and
I
think
we're
all
pleasantly
surprised.
With
the
the
proposal
we
got
from
waste
pro.
A
It
will
be
a
transition
to
a
new
provider
and
we've
gone
through
that
before,
even
though
it
was
basically
the
same
provider,
but
we
know
how
that
turned
out.
So
I'm
excited,
I
think
we
have
made
a
good
choice
and,
and,
as
mr
cronin
said,
the
cost
will
go
down
for
some.
It
will
go
up
some
for
some
who
won't
choose
to
recycle
on
an
additional
services,
but
not
nearly
as
much
as
we
anticipated
or
as
much
as
we've
heard
from
other
cities.
So
very
again,
pleasant.
A
Surprise
and
again
I
want
to
thank
mr
carlin
and
miss
wilson
and
mr
waterman
for
serving
with
committee
and
again
mr
ingram
who's
always
got
it
us
right
way
on
on
sanitation
and
is
always
there
to
answer
our
calls
and
citizens
calls
and-
and
there
are
a
lot
of
them
so
so.
Thank
you,
mr
ingram,
so.
B
Would
you
remind
our
public
again
of
the
date
of
the
transition
if
it's
approved.
A
Yes
october,
1st
is
it
that
is
correct.
October
1st
is
the
beginning
of
the
fiscal
year
november
and
there
will
be
a
whole
education
process
and
and
notices
going
out
to
the
public
exactly
how
the
transition
will
be
happening
and
then
what
to
expect.
So
it's
one
reason
that
we
wanted
to
kind
of
prove
the
transition
tonight.
So
we
could,
they
could
go
ahead
and
get
started
on
communicating
that
information.
E
A
We
have
a
motion,
a
second
further
discussion,
all
in
favor
say
aye,
aye
opposed,
nay.
All
members
voted
for
the
motion:
item
g
discussion
and
possible
action
on
the
intergovernment
intergovernmental
agreement
with
development
authority
of
cherokee
county
for
the
expansion
of
corporate
office
opportunities
in
the
bluffs.
C
M
H
That's
okay.
May
I
address
mr
england?
Yes,
since
this
will
be
a
government
action
agreement
between
the
city
and
the
county.
How
will
we
be
restricted
in
their
building
and
landscaping
and
the
businesses
that
go
in
there?
We
learned
with
the
parking
deck
that
when
you
deal
with
a
government
entity
other
than
ourselves.
C
L
L
G
I'd
like
to
move
to
approve
the
intergovernmental
agreement
with
the
development
authority
of
cherokee
county
for
the
expansion
of
corporate
opportunities
in
the
bluffs.
Second,.
A
A
N
N
It
provides
technical
assistance,
team
facilitation,
training
from
experts
and
expert
presenters
consensus
building.
The
outcome
of
this
program
would
be
utilizing
a
local
canton
housing
team
to
participate
in
this
process
and
ultimately
prepare
a
strategic
housing
plan
for
the
city
of.
Can
that
would
be
a
supplement
with
our
housing
needs
assessment.
Our
comprehensive
plan,
our
ongoing
operations,
such
as
the
housing
fund,
what
we're
trying
to
do
with
adus,
affordable
workforce
housing.
That
sort
of
thing
resolution
is
a
part
of
the
requirements
for
the
application,
I'm
working
on
the
application
itself.
N
I
gave
you
a
blank
copy
of
what
all
is
required
with
the
application
there.
The
application
itself
is
due
july
29th,
I'm
working
on
a
letter
of
intent,
which
is
part
of
the
application
process.
The
letter
of
intent
is
due
july
5th,
no
july.
The
8th
the
letter
of
intent
is
a
maximum
of
two
pages
detailing.
Why
can't
wants
to
participate
in
the
program
expected
outcomes,
things
of
that
nature?
I've
been
working
with
the
city
manager
in
regards
to
language
within
that
letter
of
intent,
would
request
city
council
consider
a
proven
resolution
to
smith.
N
The
only
cost
associated
with
this
is.
There
are
two
required
retreats
each
year
during
the
three-year
process,
a
minimum
or,
if
you
will,
they
specify
four
of
the
housing
team
members
must
attend.
Those
two
retreats
estimated
cost
is
maximum
7
500
per
year
to
pay
for
hotels,
travel
things
of
that
nature
associated
with
these
two
day,
retreats
that
are
conducted
all
over
the
state
for
people
that
are
in
the
program.
Now
they
do
have
a
retreat
coming
up
this
fall
september
october
and
it's
going
to
be
in
cartersville.
N
If
we
are
selected,
we
would
begin
with
the
treats
with
their
spring
retreat
in
2023..
A
Great,
thank
you,
mr
patton.
It
sounds
like
an
excellent
program.
Appreciate
your
initiative
on
this.
It's
always
a
good
opportunity
to
collaborate
with
other
cities,
see
what
they're
doing
and
learning
from
them.
So
I
think
it's
a
great
great
idea.
So
any
questions
for
mr
batten.
D
Just
a
comment
and
I'd
like
to
make
a
motion
as
well.
Mr
patton,
I
guess
this
is
the
first
time
I've
seen
your
new
title
in
print
or
the
first
time
I've
paid
attention
to
it.
I
should
say
it
has
a
nice
ring
to
it
housing,
initiatives,
director
and
I'm
really
thrilled
that
that
mr
patton
is
going
to
be
leading
the
efforts
like
this.
You
know
for
the
future.
D
B
A
A
N
Asset
to
the
city,
quite
a
few
things
as
it
relates
to
housing.
On
behalf
of
the
city,
I
will
add
that
if
we
are
selected
to
participate
in
this
program
complete
program,
future
chip
grant
loans
through
georgia
department
of
community
affairs,
we
do
get
some
bonus
points
for
participation
in
this
program.
N
A
Item
b,
discussion
and
possible
action
on
one
source
contract
for
counseling
and
employee
assistance.
I
know
mr
chief
member
what
was
going
to
present
this.
Are
you
going
to
present
this
yeah.
C
Let
me
just
say
something
briefly
mayor
if
I
may,
as
you
mentioned,
unfortunately,
chief
merrifield
couldn't
be
with
us
tonight,
but
he
was
going
to
give
a
little
a
little
summary
a
little
background
information
on
one
source.
Unfortunately,
I
don't
have
that
with
me,
but
he's
going
to
ask
for
a
request
for
approval
of
a
contract
with
one
source,
counseling
and
employee
assistance
services
llc,
to
provide
mental
health
care
to
public
safety
employees
involved
in
critical
incidents.
I
will
note
that
we
have
done
work
with
this
organization.
C
It
adds
just
adds
more
services
and
adds
value
to
what
they're
already
doing,
and
we
would
ask
we'll
ask
for
council's
actions
tonight
it's
only
at
a
cost
of
2
500,
so
we
feel
this
is
very
important
for
the
service
that
our
pd
provides
our
public
safety
individuals.
Thank.
K
Well,
I
think
it's
a
you
know
it's
a
great
idea
and
you
know
we
have
to
make
sure
we
take
care
of
those
who
take
care
of
us.
So
if
there
are
no
other
comments
or
questions,
I'd
like
to
make
a
motion
to
approve
the
one
source
contract
for
counseling
and
employee
assistance.
H
Do
have
one
question,
mr
ingram,
you
said
the
cost
was
twenty
five
hundred
dollars.
Yes,.
O
Yes,
on
on
june
7th
we
received
bids
for
we
replacing
the
flocculators
at
the
water
plant.
We
had
five
bidders,
three
of
them
within
nine
percent
of
each
other,
so
that
that
was
good.
The
low
bidder
was
js,
heron
or
671
thousand.
O
A
And
this
just
clarify
this
will
be
from
the
water
server
fund.
O
Don't
have
to
approve
it
tonight.
I
did
get
a
letter
of
recommendation
from
the
engineer
as
well,
but
okay.
O
L
A
L
Yeah,
this
is
a
change
order
to
the
sewer
project,
there's
a
an
emergency
situation
involving
stabilization
of
slopes,
and
we,
the
work,
needs
to
be
done
immediately
and
we
don't
have
time
to
necessarily
to
acquire
the
easement
rights,
so
strike
asked
that
we
would
hold
them
harmless
from
any
claims
arising
out
of
that.
No
money
involved.
A
O
A
Okay,
we
had
mr
ingram
added
item
e
amendments
for
the
purchase
of
the
jones
building
or
something
to
that
effect.
C
We
were
approached
earlier
this
week,
if,
if
I
can
remind
council
that
the
due
diligence
period
for
the
jones
building
purchase
ends
tuesday
they're
asking
for
a
couple
of
commitment,
letters,
one,
they
need
to
use
the
parking
areas,
the
same
parking
areas
that
we
use
during
the
renovation.
C
C
Number
two
the
commit
the
second
commitment
letter
they're
asking
is
that
we
we
consider
using
some
of
those
tag:
funds
for
some
infrastructure
projects
along
the
north
street
corridor.
There's
a
need
for
some
grease
trip.
Grease
trips,
grease
traps
for
restaurants
in
the
jones
building.
They've
talked
about
having
georgia
power.
Do
some
work
to
try
to
get
the
power
service
into
the
jones
building
underground,
not
overhead,
and
then
we
have
a
sanitation
issue
that
we,
you
know
dealt
with
for
years,
and
so
we
need
to
find
a
solution
to
it.
C
So
the
second
comm
commitment
letter
is
tailored
around
that
the
council
would
be
amen,
amenable
to
use
those
tag,
funds
to
help
in
those
projects.
So
if
I
can
and
get
your
approval
tonight,
I
need
to
get
that
letter
out
to
them
tomorrow,
if
at
all
possible.
Okay.
A
Thank
you,
mr
ingram.
I
know
we
discussed
today
on
the
parking
and
the
timing
of
when
the
construction
would
commence,
and
currently
we
have
a
lot
of
parking
out
commission
with
the
construction
of
the
parking
deck
and
then
the
parking
back
behind
the
new
history
center
is
out
of
commission.
A
I
was
wondering
if
we
could
possibly
ask
them.
I
think
the
construction,
the
construction
of
the
parking
deck
supposed
to
be
wrapped
up
by
september
1st,
maybe
a
little
bit
sooner.
A
C
A
And
then
that
second
thing,
just
just
for
confirmation,
the
the
we
include
the
building
in
the
tab,
because
for
those
very
reasons
for
those
improvements,
but
the
improvements
on
north
street
with
the
grease
traps-
sanitation,
that's
for
all
the
businesses
along
north
street.
On
that
block.
C
A
Which
I
think
you
know
again,
the
tad
would
would
cover,
but
I
know
we've
there's
businesses
on
that
street
we've
had
the
sanitation
issue
for
a
long
time
on
that,
so
hopefully
it'll
give
us.
You
know
initiative
to
to
address
those
problems
for
all
the
businesses
on
north
street.
So.
G
C
G
Then,
with
all
those
terms
that
we
just
discussed,
I
would
move
to
approve
those
two
letters.
K
A
C
C
Last
week,
city
management
had
an
opportunity
to
sit
down
with
other
municipal
leaders
in
cherokee,
as
well
as
the
cherokee
county,
to
discuss
and
have
a
kickoff
of
the
2024
splash
project.
We're
going
to
be
meeting
with
them
again
next
week,
hopefully
to
narrow
down
our
bucket
list
for
lack
of
a
better
way
of
saying
our
bucket
list
projects
on
the
next
2024
splash.
C
The
recent
heat
has
been
placing
a
lot
of
stress
on
the
city
hall's
hvac
system.
Please
remember
that
we
have
budgeted
funds
to
replace
this
system,
so
that
has
kind
of
given
us
a
kick
in
the
pants.
If
you
will
that
we
need
to
get
that
going.
C
In
april
city
issued
an
rfp
for
an
arts
master
plan
that
is
due
next
thursday.
So
we're
really
excited
about
that.
We
appreciate
the
arts
commission
for
their
input
on
that
process
as
well
thursday
june
9th.
The
kenton
theater
welcomed
moviegoers
moviegoers
to
spiderman
no
way
home.
The
event
was
part
of
the
city's
summer
family
movie
series
which
has
different
feature
showings
every
thursday
at
10
a.m
and
2
p.m.
C
Today's
showing
was
reya
and
the
last
dragon,
and
next
week's
is
lady.
In
the
we
appreciate
our
theater
theater
events
and
facilities
director
kristen
for
making
these
events
happen,
and
also
this
weekend,
starting
tomorrow
friday
and
running
through
the
weekend,
the
kent
theater
will
be
hosting
a
cherokee
theater
production
in
the
restroom
at
rosenblooms.
C
I
haven't
seen
that
with
everything
else
going
on.
Please
don't
forget
farmer's
market
this
saturday
morning
from
9
a.m,
to
12
30
p.m,
get
down
there
and
get
your
fruits
and
vegetables
before
the
mayor
beats
you
to
it.
That's
right
june,
18th
at
6
p.m.
Please
join
us
at
edward
river
park
for
the
canton
river
rock
concert
and
festival.
The
celebrity
all-star
band
will
be
rocking
bring
your
launch
lawn
chairs,
coolers,
no
glass,
please
friends
and
your
children.
Don't
forget
your
children.
There
will
be
kids
activities
and
food
trucks
tuesday
june
21st.
C
The
city
is
celebrating
its
newest
mural,
we're
having
a
ribbon
cutting
for
the
wildflower
power
I
didn't
have
did
that
run.
The
ribbon
cutting
will
be
11,
30
a.m,
on
the
corner
of
north
and
lee
street,
getting
ready
for
the
big
july
4th
weekend.
The
next
first
friday
will
be
july
1st
we
will
host
the
emerald
empire,
band
music
will
start
at
6
pm
and
the
july
4th
independence
day.
Celebration
will
be
held
on
saturday
july,
2nd
festivities
begin
at
4
pm,
with
the
parade
through
downtown
and
fireworks
beginning
at
dusk.
C
M
A
I
had
no
counseling
introduced
items
added
to
the
agenda,
just
just
checking,
so
I
just
have
a
couple
of
quick
comments.
Number
one
just
want
to
urge
citizens
to
be
careful
on
the
heat
is
very
hot
out
there
and
you
can
get
in
trouble
very
quickly
solve
it
next
week,
we're
expecting
two
or
three
days
over
100
degrees,
so
just
be
careful,
stay
hydrated
and
take
care
of
yourself
and
check
on.
If
you
have
elderly
neighbors,
please
check
on
them
and
take
care
of
your
pets
as
well.
A
So
another
item
I
want
to
discuss
quickly
and
I'll,
be
addressing
this
further
a
further
statement,
but
we've
had
some
comments
on
the
cherokee
arts
center,
closing,
which
we
all
regret
and
are
sorry
to
hear
that
it's
been
a
big
part
of
our
city.
For
for
a
long
time.
A
A
A
We
asked
them
this
year
when
they
told
us
their
possibility.
They
would
be
closing.
We
asked
them
to
invite
them
to
present
a
proposal
to
the
city
of
how
we
possibly
help
they
added
that
agenda,
that
item
to
the
agenda
and
did
not
show
and
did
not
ask
to
come
back.
A
We
have
created
the
arts
are
very
important
to
this
council.
The
arts
are
very
important
to
the
city
and
to
our
citizens.
Quality
of
life.
We've
created
the
arts
commission.
For
that
very
reason
we
are
taking
it
seriously.
We've
created
invested
in
two
public
murals,
which
are
great
and
just
indication
we're
going-
and
it
was
mentioned
this
evening
by
mr
ingram.
We
are
working
on
a
master
plan
for
the
arts
for
the
city,
so
just
like
our
strategic
roadmap.
A
Once
we
have
an
arts
master
plan
in
place,
we
will
look
at
where
we
want
to
go
with
ours
for
the
city
and
what
the
city
will
be
be.
Investing
in.
You
know
with
our
budget
and
our
taxpayers,
budgets,
floss
funds
or
whatever.
So
I
just
want
to
make
that
clear
that
you
know
the
city
is
public
art
center,
private
non-profit.
So
we
support
the
arts
in
every
possible
form.
A
We
can't
support
as
a
city
a
non-profit
private
nonprofit
organization
and
how
they
choose
to
run
their
organizations,
so
something
that
that
clear,
we
all
are
sad
about.
Their
circumstances
had
a
lot
of
issues
with
their
building,
and
a
lot
of
people
said
why
didn't
you
help
them
fix
the
building?
The
building
is
on
by
the
county
by
cherokee.
County
city
is
not
going
to
invest
our
taxpayers
fund
into
a
county
building.
So
enough
said
so.
