Description
In State of Care, our annual report on the state of health and social care in England, we found that a positive organisational culture and continuous staff development have a real impact on the quality of care.
Home Instead West Lancashire and Chorley is a home care service based in Ormskirk. Our inspectors rated it outstanding after we carried out an inspection in July 2014.
A
Home
Instead
Senior
Care
is
a
uk-based
business
with
about
160
branches
across
the
country
and
they
have
the
same
values
and
ethos
that
must
happen,
gail
starting
out
with
which
is
delivering
high
quality
care.
Really,
the
inspection
was
a
culmination
of
what
we
did
already.
It
was
a
matter
of
getting
the
CQC
know
what
our
values
are,
but.
B
B
My
benchmark,
particularly
around
the
recruitment,
has
always
been,
could
I
let
that
person
look
after
my
mom
and
dad
and
that's
from
the
medical
basis
from
how
we
start
our
recruitment
process,
because
in
terms
of
training,
we
can
offer
training
programs
that
I
can't
put
compassion
and
I
can't
put
those
qualities
into
somebody
that
needs
to
be
there
right
from
the
beginning.
My.
C
Name
is
Amy
Rowley
I
work
for
Home
Instead
as
a
caregiver,
so
what
I
find
really
special
about
Home
Instead
is
the
time
that
you
get
to
spend
with
the
people
that
you
look
after
and
I'm
really
lucky,
because
everybody
I
look
afters,
lovely
and
if
you
try
and
match
you
up
with
somebody
that
that
you'll
get
on
with
and
know
that
they
all
get
on
with
you
as
well.
Well,.
D
I
had
collapsed,
all
much
and
I
had
to
go
into
hospital
and
from
there
I
had
gone
into
a
care
home,
and
it
wasn't
intention,
but
I
came
out
to
have
you
know
care
coming
to
the
house,
the
for
been
good,
a
miss
that
a
lot
been
special
she's
been
an
absolute
treasure
to
me,
because
she
does
everything
for
me
and
she's
very
light-hearted,
about
everything.
Does
she
ever
has
complete?
She
just
comes,
and
our
great
spare
actually
gives
you
a
lift
to
woodchucks
a
bit
things
so.
B
I've
always
approached
our
inspection
process
really
positively,
because
I
see
it
as
a
real
opportunity
for
us
to
learn
further.
Our
rating
was
outstanding,
which
we
was
absolutely
delighted
and
I
felt
it
a
real
honor
for
the
for
the
caregiver
staff,
who
have
helped
to
enable
us
to
get
that
rating,
and
it's
a
real
testament
to
the
commitment
and
the
hard
work
that
they'd
go
out
there
and
do
every
single
day
for
our
clients
and
for
their
families.
B
A
Is
no
sort
of
silver
bullet
as
to
what
we
do
doing
the
sort
of
person
sent
a
care
plan
to
make
sure
that
everything
meets
the
individuals
service
needs
their
actual
needs,
and
it's
all
about
ensuring
that
the
carer
can
deliver
the
best
possible
care.
Is
a
team
approach
and
that's
what's
important
of
getting
an
outstanding.
A
E
Mum
was
cared
for
by
Home
Instead
for
about
eighteen
months
over
the
last
three
years,
a
couple
of
times
in
the
past.
Before
we
came
to
work
with
Home
Instead,
she
had
had
care
provision
which
hadn't
met
her
needs
for
the
various
reasons,
I
think
the
experience
from
the
start,
Robertson
Gail,
came
to
see
my
mum
in
the
care
home
one
Sunday
afternoon.
The
fact
they
both
came
was
very
encouraging
and,
to
be
honest,
they
were
interviewed
by
my
mum.
She
was
he
really
pushed
on
them
to
see
what
care
she
would
get.
E
B
Vision
for
the
future
or
the
future
landscape
will
be
that
health
and
social
care
colleagues
hold
quality
at
this
very
center
of
all
that
they
deliver,
but
equally
in
terms
of
commissioning
that
its
hold
at
the
centre
so
that
they
are
commissioning
services
that
they
would
for
the
loved
one.
That's
built
on
quality
as
the
the
structure.
