I wanted to just welcome everybody here. This has been four long years in the making for those of.

A

You who have been around this lot that long with us we originally had a different rv. We.

A

Ran into some technical difficulties, we were able to procure a new rv and we were looking.

A

Forward to getting this on the road and out into our community a little bit about the history of.

A

Why we're doing this? A lot of our services are centrally located in our county and transportation.

A

Is a major issue to you know in my prior life I did behavioral health and one of the uh pieces of.

A

Information that we use to procure the vehicle was that we have areas in our community where there.

A

Are no providers or services at all? Typically, the hampstead manchester area, the tawny town area.

A

um And mount airy, which somewhere in carroll and some are not in carroll so but we're looking to.

A

Target those areas to ensure that people have equal access to care and that you know we know.

A

That if people have the excess and the ability to get to it, um you know we can change our community.

A

Okay, everybody should have access to medical care and resources, regardless of where they.

A

Live or their socioeconomic status, we want everybody to have a fair and just opportunity.

A

To prevent, find and get treatment and our principles in this endeavor will use the.

A

Three p's people place and partnerships and of our partners are here today and I'd like.

A

To recognize them, we have carroll hospital is here today with us, our county fire ems is.

A

Here with us today, our fire emergency- I mean our emergency manager- is here with us today.

A

um A lot of my staff from the health department are here with us today. Oh yes, um our bureau of.

A

Aging and disabilities is here with us today, and I thank everybody for coming to share in this.

A

um We're going to be going out into the community and trying to get feedback.

A

From the areas right now, we are we've secured three areas: um tony town.

A

Union bridge and the sykesville area, as well as an area in hampstead manchester and we're.

A

Going to be going out into those communities we're going to try to get feedback, as we start.

A

To roll out the services we've identified and get feedback on what they need, we're going to be using.

A

Our partnership with our hospital to look for opportunities to do educational programming and.

A

To partner on resources that they have available, that you know our services, that we don't provide.

A

We're not looking to develop new services, we're looking to find out what the needs are and find.

A

Out what partners or what community services are available to meet those needs, and we will.

A

Be partnering with those individuals to make that happen. So look for us in the future to be having.

A

Some town halls in those areas to be looking for citizens to come out and tell us what their.

A

Needs are and what they would like educational programming on in their areas and we'll be out.

A

And on the road with our health on wheels, we're very happy that this day has finally come and.

A

I'm going to introduce um dr nilesh colin and arium up here as our secretary of our deputy.

A

Secretary for public health, I should not be the person good morning. Everyone and thank you, sue.

It's great to be here, as you mentioned, I'm nalesh, kalyana ramen, I'm, the deputy secretary of public.

B

Health for the maryland department of health- uh and it's really great to be out here with you. This.

B

Morning um I know that a lot of work and a lot of people have contributed to the work to bring this.

B

Mobile mobile clinic help on wheels to fruition. I was talking to sue this morning and it's taken.

B

About four years, which is actually about how long it takes so, it wasn't surprised to hear that.

B

I know through the efforts of all of you, county leadership, good meeting you.

B

Commissioner, gordon our hospital leadership staff at the health department to bring this.

B

To fruition- and the thing that I think is most important is that when we talk about.

B

Improving health for all, when we talk about bringing care to people, this is what it looks.

B

Like to do that right, when we talk about, we want to achieve health equity and make sure everybody.

B

Has the chance to live their best lives? Well, what are we doing about that? To make it easier to make.

B

It a part of people's lives, not something they have to do on the side or separately. This is that.

B

And it takes a lot of work behind the scenes. It takes a lot of effort and then.

B

Take frankly takes a lot of resources, both time and money, to make that happen.

B

But the result is those small victories that happen in communities throughout the county.

B

Where residents are able to get the services that they need? And I know that that the health.

B

Department ensue have looked at and talked to residents to ask them. Where do you want us to be.

B

And what do you need us to do for you, and so some of the services like naloxone, like oral.

B

Health oral health, including oral cancer screening, smoking, cessation, sti screening.

B

And others are going to be brought out to the community where it's needed the most.

B

And that to me is a victory, and that, for us, as a state, is what we want to continue to do continue.

B

To support and continue to improve people's lives, and so thank you. Thank you for having.

B

Me but more importantly, thank you for doing this for the residents of your county, this is what's.

B

Going to make a difference, and so with that I'll turn it back over to you soon, [applause].

I'd like to invite commissioner gordon up to say a few words [applause].

First and foremost, as I've said countless times, one of the big things about carroll county is.

C

We work together, and it's very obviously seeing this morning between county the health department.

C

The state of maryland and all of you that are here, I think it's wonderful- that we have the.

C

Ability to collaborate and do what we do so well, which is look out for our community and everyone.

C

That we serve, I think this is going to be an incredible addition. I agree very much so that.

C

This is going to be a wonderful opportunity for us to reach people that may not have that.

C

Access sometimes, as we know, there are challenges in our community, and I think this is going to be.

C

An absolutely wonderful option that we're going to have to include and provide additional health.

C

Care options for those in our community, and I just want to say thank you for coming out this morning,.
