B
Good
evening,
Madam
president
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
governing
board
members
executive
team
and
those
in
the
audience
and
on
YouTube
this
evening,
we're
going
to
honor
JJ
Watt
foundation
for
their
contributions
to
one
of
our
schools
Unfortunately.
They
couldn't
be
here
with
us,
but
they
do
appreciate
the
award
but
who's
JK.
What
Foundation
we
have
this
video,
let's
find
out
more
about
who
they
are
and
what
they
do
for
the
community.
D
Middle
school
kids
are
very
impressionable.
You
know
when
I
went
through
my
time
back
in
middle
school,
I
feel,
like
that's
kind
of
the
time,
where
you're
getting
old
enough
to
understand
your
life
decisions
a
little
bit
and
you're
also
picking
the
path
that
you're
going
to
go
on
through
high
school
and
through
life.

We
also
have
Janae
Britton.
She
is
our
principal
of
Estrella
Middle
School,
which
is
the
one
that
got
the
the
Grant
from
Jay
Justin
watts,
and
she
is
our
representative
for
the
principals
this
evening.
Thank
you
for
being
here.
A
F
Emmahari
good
evening
governing
board
president
Hernandez
superintendent,
Dr
IXL
Lawler
governing
board
members
executive
team
and
audience
tonight.
We
do
have
the
pleasure
of
introducing
our
scholar
advisory
Council.
Our
superintendent
has
been
having
monthly
meetings
with
these
student
leaders.
One
topic
on
their
mind
was
the
student
dress
code.
Our
scholar,
Advisory
Group,
is
here
tonight
to
present
a
dress
code
proposal
along
with
some
survey
results
from
our
staff
and
our
parents,
but
before
they
begin,
our
superintendent
has
a
few
words.
G
H
L
M
N
O
Governing
board
president
members
of
the
governing
board
audience
executive
team
principals
and
our
special
guests
here
this
evening.
I
am
so
proud
to
be
sitting
here
alongside
these
amazing
future
current
leaders
and
Future
Leaders
future
adult
leaders.
We
they
have
been
on
this
mission
to
problem
solve
and
improve
their
schools
and
our
district
over
the
course
since
last
September,
and
they
have
met
monthly
but
they've
actually
met
and
principals
can
tell
you
more
than
monthly.
They
had
a
list
and
they're
always
they're
all
saying.
O
Yes,
they
have
a
list
and
they
have
a
list
of
items
that
they
really
do
want
to
focus
on
and
improve.
That
list
includes
things
like
what
we're
going
to
talk
tonight,
the
dress
code,
but
they
want
to
solve
other
problems
like
the
bullying
problem
and
some
of
the
other
things
that
come
up
on
a
school
in
school,
often
and
so
their
voice
matters.
The
principles
I
know
have
learned
so
much
from
this
process,
just
as
I
have,
and
our
parents
as
well
and
I
know
our
teachers
too.
M
I
H
We
want
you
to
know
that
our
Solar
solar
update
the
address
code
at
every
school
in
the
Cartwright
district
for
each
Academic
Year,
starting
from
2023
to
20484
and
the
years
to
come,
to
ensure
on
consistency
and
more
individual
styles
with
options
here
are
the
who?
What
where,
when?
Why
of
our
proposal.
G
I
Moving
away
from
just
shirts
with
collars,
we
wanted
to
allow
plain
shirts
with
or
without
collars.
We
also
did
not
believe
that
v-necks
should
be
allowed.
We
also
want
some
flexibility
to
wear
tank
tops
during
free
dress
on
day,
but
these
will
be
addressed
in
Slide
11..
The
picture
on
the
top
are
left,
but
the
bomb
wants
our
violation
of
dress
code.
J
We
have,
we
wanted
different
color
scarves
to
be
allowed
and
we
also
wanted
to
include
jean
skirts
and
pleated
skirts.
We
agreed
that
skirts
did
not
be
shorter
than
two
to
three
inches
above
the
knee,
and
we
also
want
to
see
long
swords
approved
and
we
agree.
The
skirts
may
not
be
worn
on
PE
there
or
class
and,
after
all,
skirts
have
been
a
part
of
the
school
uniform
for
a
very
long
time.
G
N
We
all
believe
sweatpants
should
be
allowed
any
time
of
the
year
during
school.
We
are
in
school
for
about
seven
hours
a
day
and
all
students
want
to
feel
as
comfortable
during
that
period
of
time.
Sweatpants
are
comfortable
and
appropriate
for
school.
The
colors
that
we
want
to
allow
are
dark,
blue
and
black.
K
M
Crop
tops
and
tank
tops
are
very
fashionable
these
days,
which
is
why
many
students,
particularly
the
ladies,
would
want
to
wear
them
being
able
to
wear
crop
tops
and
tank
tops,
was
a
change
we
wish.
We
could
have
seen
for
our
dress
code,
but
as
you'll
see
in
future
slides
our
parents
and
teachers
did
not
approve
of
them
being
born
for
school.
M
The
rules
we
have
established
were
tank,
tops
and
crop
tops
should
be
allowed
on
free
dress,
down
day,
crank
tops
and
crop
tops
would
have
been
no
longer
than
one
to
two
inches
above
the
stomach,
and
they
were
not
to
be
used
as
uniforms.
This
would
have
only
applied
to
middle
school,
as
we
did
not
want
to
see
our
young
children
wearing
such
uniform
and
students
would
have
had
to
change
for
PE.
H
L
We
begin
my
meeting
weekly
to
create
a
proposal.
Once
the
proposal
was
completed.
We
presented
it
to
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler.
Then
we
begin
to
create
a
survey
to
be
sent
to
the
parents
and
to
the
teachers
we
sent
out
surveys
in
email
and
all
parents
also
received
surveys
on
Class
Dojo.
It
was
also
presented
at
the
parent
advisory
Council.
We
recently
reviewed
the
results
and
would
like
to
share
these
results
with
you.
L
G
N
As
you
can
see
by
the
survey
results,
we
do
not
get
all
the
changes
we
hoped
for,
but
this
was
a
great
learning
experience
for
all
of
us
and
we
appreciate
that
our
superintendent
took
the
time
to
meet
with
us
so
that
we
could
propose
some
changes
that
did
get
voted
for.
We
look
forward
to
see
what
the
future
scholar
group
will
come
up
with
next
year.
M
Thank
you
so
much
for
your
time.
At
this
moment,
we
would
like
to
take
the
time
to
answer
any
questions.
Anyone
has.
A
P
Go
ahead,
miss
you!
Thank
you.
Madam
president.
Fellow
board,
members,
Dr
Lawler
executive
team,
those
in
the
audience
and
our
special
guests
I
was
able
to
see
this
presentation
at
the
parent
advisory
meeting,
so
I
kind
of
got
A
Sneak
Peek
into
this,
which
is
a
little
nice
I,
really
appreciate
the
effort
that
you
all
put
into
this
I.
P
Think
for
myself
personally,
outside
of
being
a
board
member
I'm
somebody
who's
strongly
for
being
a
little
bit
more
relaxed
when
it
comes
to
dress
code,
just
knowing
the
the
personal
experience
growing
up
in
the
district
of
you
know
the
uniforms,
and
sometimes
the
bullying
that
comes
from
that
I
did
have
a
couple
of
questions
in
your
guys's
personal
experience.
What
is
the
process
that
happens
when
you
violate
dress
code.
G
J
Personal
experience,
oh
sorry,
when
students
at
the
rollage
Castro
Academy
get
dress
coded,
they
usually
just
give
them
a
pass
and
they
go
to
the
nurse's
office
and
they
just
sell
them
hey.
This
is
not
allowed
in
our
dress
code,
so
you
need
to
change.
They
give
them
clothes
from
the
nurses
and
then,
until,
like
almost
the
end
of
the
day,
they
go
back,
get
their
clothes
back
and
yeah.
They
go
and
change
for.
What's
not
appropriate.
P
Okay,
thank
you.
The
other
question
that
I
have
is
when
I
don't
know,
if,
personally
for
any
of
you,
but
maybe
in
your
experience
with
you,
know
other
classmates,
what
is
your
experience
as
to
what
the
responses
are
from
staff
when
they
say
that
you're
out
of
dress
code,
if
there's
a
debate
that
goes
back
and
forth
between
you
know
you
guys
and
and
the
staff,
what
is
typically,
what
is
the
typical
response
that
they
have
as
to
your
dress
code,
violation.
I
In
my
personal
experience,
most
times
they
most
times
my
friends
just
like
Let
It
Go,
like
they
made
that
they're
in
the
wrong,
but
sometimes
like
they
fight
it
like
they.
Sometimes
they
just
wear
like
red
shirts
like
there's
a
random
red
chair.
We
would
call
it
and
they
still
get
dress
coded.
So
so
sometimes
that's
why
they
that's
why
they
debate
for
that
so
yeah.
P
I
I
would
like
to
hear
from
any
of
you,
ladies
here,
your
experience
as
far
as
like
things
being
too
short
or
being
a
little
bit
too
revealing
in
your
in
your
opinions,.
K
In
my
personal
experience,
so
it's
something
that
has
happened
like
that.
I
was
asked
to
zip
up
my
jacket
because
my
shirt
was
a
little
too
low
and
I
ended
up
I,
just
I
zipped
up
my
jacket,
but
in
my
opinion,
I
didn't
believe
that
my
shirt
was
that
low,
but
to
the
teacher
it
was
and
I
wasn't
gonna
make
a
big
old
fuss
or
a
scene,
so
I
just
it
up,
but
I
would
have
liked
to
talk
to
her
about
it.
As
of
why
she
thought
it
was
slow.
P
Okay,
thank
you.
I
asked
this
question
because
I
know
that,
in
my
experience
and
having
conversation
with
other
board
members
across
the
valley,
because
you
could
I
think
you
guys
are
the
first
students
or
Scholars
to
bring
this
up
to
the
board.
But
I.
Don't
think
this
is
a
new
conversation
for
school
districts.
I
know,
Phoenix
Union
is
has
already
been
very
relaxed
on
their
dress
code.
P
So
I
mostly
asked
this
because
I
know
that
sometimes
it
can
be
a
little
uncomfortable
when
people
say
things
as
far
as
like.
Well,
it's
very
distracting
and
to
other
people's
learning,
and
so
I
just
wanted
to
know
and
your
guys's
experience
if
that's
happening,
if
you
guys
are
filling
in
that
in
that
way,
I
think
where
I
think
it's
great,
that
you
guys
did
the
surveys
and
I'm
not
going
against
what
the
principles
and
what
your
parents
are
saying.
P
You
know
I
think
at
the
end
of
the
day,
Mom
and
Dad
say
you
can't
leave
the
house
with
something
that's
pretty
much,
how
it's
gonna
go
so
I
I
do
agree
with
that,
but
I
think
right.
We're
having
conversations
about
social,
emotional
learning
and
we're
we're
getting
really
in
depth
about
how
we're
approaching
our
feelings,
other
people's
feelings
and
how
to
have
conversations
appropriately
with
people
and
how
not
to
cross
boundaries
and
I
just
wanted
to
see
like
what
that
response
is
I.
P
Guess
in
our
district
compared
to
you
know
some
high
school
students
right
like
they
feel
very
uncomfortable
when
people
tell
them
you're
out
of
dress
code,
violation
for
X
Y
and
Z
and
I
really
just
wanted
to
hear.
If
that's
the
experience
that
you
guys
have.
M
M
But
I
was
hearing
from
a
lot
of
the
students
in
my
school
was
that
the
school
uniform
policy
that
we
currently
have
is
to
wear
collars
and
to
wear
a
certain
type
of
colors
according
to
our
school
right
and
most
of
the
time,
a
lot
of
the
students
would
argue
that
well
high
school
students
don't
get
to
don't
have
to
wear
all
of
that.
So
why
should
we
and
they're
much
older
than
we
are?
As
you
said,
the
Phoenix
Union
has
much
more
relaxed
policies
about
this.
P
Thank
you,
I
I
really
really
appreciate
you
all.
Bringing
this
to
the
board.
I
think
it
was
my
first
year
as
a
board
member
a
few
months
in
and
we
had
we're
having
a
conversation
about
dress
code
so
personally
like
coming
in
as
a
new
board
member-
and
you
know,
you're
learning
the
ropes
it's
very
different
on
this
side
of
than
it
is
on
that
side.
So
it's
it's
all
it's!
It's
almost
are
you
for
me
as
a
board
member
right
and
maybe
for
some
other
board
members?
P
Are
we
having
the
correct
conversations
right?
Are
these?
Are
these
a
conversations
that
are
actually
impactful?
Is
it
what
are
Scholars,
what
our
families
right,
what
our
Administration
and
staff
want
so
I
just
I
just
appreciate
the
fact
that
you
guys
are
bringing
this
to
our
attention,
because
I
think
we
are
having
this
we've
been
having
this
conversation
and
it's
it's
nice
to
know
that
you
guys
are
also
kind
of
there
with
us.
So
thank
you.
Q
Thank
you,
madam
president.
Dr
Lawler
executive
team,
those
in
the
audience
and
those
watching
and
are.
Is
it
Scholars,
Council
I
wanted
to
ask
about
your
experience
in
arriving.
You
know
all
the
work
that
you
did.
You
know
you
asked
the
parent,
you
did
the
surveys
you
did
and
then
you
came
up
with
some
recommendations
of
what
you
would
like
and
then
you
had
some
challenges
and
maybe
even
perspective
from
school
or
parents
or
whatever.
How?
How
do
you
feel
about
the
experience?
Is
it
an
easy.
H
So
for
my
experience
overall
I
think
it's
even
though
we
didn't
get
everything
we
wanted.
I
think
this
is
an
experience
that
I
really
enjoy,
because
not
only
are
we
getting
to
express
how
we
feel
about
certain
topics
and
everything
like
that,
but
make
students
feel
like
they're
being
heard
and
everything
like
that,
because
you
know
sometimes
you
can
get
dress
coded
or
like
you
might
violate
a
rule
and
stuff
like
that,
and
you
may
think
it's
fine
and
everything
like
that.
H
So
you
try
to
like
argue
about
it,
and
sometimes
you
can
get
out
of
place
and
stuff
like
that.
But
overall,
just
knowing
that
we're
being
heard
and
listened
to
is
a
great
thing
to
have.
Even
if
people
don't
agree,
it's
a
better
learning
experience
for
us.
So
we
know
how
to
better
compact,
different
ideas
and
different
opinions.
J
Adding
on
to
what
Ariana
said,
I
think
it
was
a
great
learning
experience
for
all
of
us.
It
brought
us
together
because
when
we
first
met
we
were,
we
didn't
know
each
other
and
we
used
our
skills
and
we
worked
a
lot
as
a
team.
J
We
worked
hard
for
teamwork
and,
like
Ariana
said,
I
feel
like
it's
great,
that
our
voices
are
being
heard
because
we
are
Scholars,
and
maybe
we
won't
be
here
next
year,
but
we
want
to
make
sure
that
the
next
future
Scholars
will
have
a
great
year
in
this
district
will
have
all
that.
They
need
to
feel
comfortable
all
that
they
need
to
feel
good
to
have
that
learning
experience
and
to
grow
into
the
leaders
that
they
will
be
continuing
on
their
life
and
I.
J
Q
M
We
said
we
had
to,
as
she
said
we
had
to.
We
often
disagreed
on
something,
but
we
all
worked
together
and
we
asked
oh,
why
did
you
disagree
on
this
and
what
would
you
like
to
do
instead,
and
you
know
we
all
work
together
as
a
team
to
be
able
to
create
this
presentation.
We
all
made
sure
that
everyone
was
included
even
if
they
didn't
attend
the
meeting.
We
made
sure
that
their
name
was
included.
We
made
sure
that
everyone
was
a
part
of
this,
because
we
all
are
a
part
of
this
Council
together.
L
I
would
like
to
elaborate,
as
they
all
said,
this
was
all
a
great
learning
experience
and
well
having
our
discussions
and
disagreeing
is
also
part
of
making
decisions
and
as
we're
going
to
get
older,
I
believe
that
this
skill
is
really
going
to
impact
our
lives
and
how
we
see
the
word
the
world
further
on
with
hunting
on
how
to
make
things
right
with
other
people
how
to
agree
and
how
to
properly
disagree
with
others
and
just
overall.
This
whole
experience
is
such
a
great
learning
learning
one.
Thank
you.
A
Those
were
great
questions.
Ladies
Miss
Garcia,
do
you
have
any
questions
or
okay
go
right
ahead.
R
R
J
I
believe
that
a
great
way
to
do
so
is
to
tell
others
so
our
friends,
so
our
peers
among
us
that
they
have
the
power
to
speak,
they
can
speak
of
and
if
they
have
anything,
they
want
to
say
anything
they
want.
They
wish
to
change.
They
can
always
wake
up
because
they
have
that
voice.
They
were
gifted
talents
for
a
reason
and
that
maybe
they're
not
up
here
with
us,
but
they
can
still
do
things.
M
We
were
all
chosen
to
be
a
part
of
the
student
council
because
we
were
all
seen
as
leaders,
and
we
know
that
there
are
other
leaders
out
there
and
that
they
will
make
a
future
change.
That
will
impact
a
lot
of
future
Generations,
as
we
hopefully
will,
and
all
of
us
are
honestly
really
hoping
that
the
people
that
come
after
us
will
do
the
same
and
be
able
to
work
together.
The
team
to
make
a
change
that
will
get
approved.
P
Madam
president,
while
you
remember
your
question,
can
I
ask
another
one:
go
yes,
go
ahead,
give
you
a
minute
there!
Thank
you,
madam
president.
Phillip
board
members
Dr
Lawler
executive
team,
those
in
the
audience
and
on
online
when
you
all
were
surveying.
What
was
the
process?
How
did
you
select
a
specific
amount
of
parents
and
staff,
or
was
it
open
to
everyone
and
I
know
I
know
you
all,
did
it
through
class
jojo
as
well
for
your
parents?
But
what
was
the
I
guess?
P
I
There
is
no
Capital,
it
was
all
the
parents
and
all
the
teachers
who
who
were
able
to
participate
and
who
wanted
to
participate
in
like
want
to
have
their
voice
heard
and
everything
we
we
increased
it
by
having
like
more
more
variety
like
just
not
by
email,
but
also
by
Class
Dojo
and,
like
other
things,
so
yeah.
N
Just
like
he
said,
we
didn't
have
a
certain
amount
of
people
that
we
wanted
to
include
or
not
include.
We
wanted
to
get
everyone's
opinion
and
not
feel
and
not
make
anyone
feel
like
they
weren't
being
heard,
because
they
couldn't
participate
and
well.
P
Yeah
I
think
I
asked
that,
because
I
know
in
the
past,
as
a
board,
we've
asked
for
the
surveys
to
be
more
extensive
as
far
as
how
we're
reaching
out
to
parents,
because
I
think
in
the
past,
sometimes
only
certain
amount
of
parents
would
respond.
Oops
or
respond
to
our
surveys
and
I
know
that
this
was
led
by
you
all.
P
So
I
wanted
to
know
how
your
guys's
process
was
compared
to
how
we
make
sure
that
we're
being
you
know,
are
doing
our
due
diligence
and
making
sure
that
that
information
is
getting
set
out
to
not
just
maybe
100
parents,
but
to
all
parents
right.
So
I
was
just
curious
as
to
like
the
process,
since
you
all
were
working
with
with
the
executive
team
on
this
as
well.
So.
M
I
believe
that
one
thing
we
might
have
done
a
little
bit
differently,
we
could
have
done
a
little
bit
differently
was
say
that
the
most
of
this
would
have
applied
to
middle
schoolers.
As
I
said,
we
didn't
want
to
see
little
kids
wearing
tank
tops
and
crop
tops
as
it
isn't
appropriate
for
them,
and
we
did
not
say
that
it
was
oh,
it
would
only
apply
to
middle
school
and
that
I
believe
really
had
an
effect
on
why
it
didn't
get
approved
or
why
some
things
did
get
approved.
So
I
believe
that
is
a
mistake.
P
A
Thank
you,
and
so
with
that
you
were
I,
mean
it's
nice
to
see
how
you're
looking
back
at
what
you
could
have
done,
maybe
and
modified
it,
but
it
also
gives
you
an
opportunity
to
see
how
it
works
in
reality,
you
can't
always
know
everything
ahead
of
time
and
so
by
looking
back,
you
can
kind
of
look
at
okay.
We
can
tweak
it
here
and
you
know
in
future
events
such
as
this
or
committees
like
this,
that
you
are
in
in
the
future.
You
can
always
take
that
knowledge
with
you
as
well.
A
So
that's
great
I'm
going
to
ask
my
questions
really
quick
and
then
I'll
ask
if
the
representatives
have
any
questions
or
actually
do
you
have
any
questions?
Raise
your
hands
comment,
questions,
okay,
go
ahead,
Miss,
peretta
and
then,
if
anyone
else
does
just
kind
of
do
this
and
I'll
be
keep
trying.
S
S
My
questions
today,
I
have
maybe
a
couple
clarifying
questions
and
then
maybe
just
some
ideas
from
you
that
I'd
like
to
hear
about
in
terms
of
next
steps
or
just
some
feedback
that
you
have
given
your
scholarly
experiences
and
I'll.
Try
to
keep
these
brief
so
with
the
tank
tops
it
sounded
like.
Yes,
you
wanted
tank
tops
for
Middle
School
Scholars,
but
the
surveys
showed
that
that's
not
something
that
we
would
have
and
the
tank
tops
you
were
asking
for
would
only
be
for
dress
down
days.
Correct.
S
Okay,
oh,
go
ahead,
honest
I'm!
Sorry
I
was
just
like
yeah,
so
thank
you
so
then
so
I
guess
I'm
wondering
I'm
I'm
apologize
that
I
didn't
catch
this
so
you're
like
using
the
serving
information.
We're,
not
gonna,
go
with
tank
tops
on
dress
down
days
or
we
are
no.
M
S
Thank
you
for
that
really
clear
reflection
too.
The
other
clarifying
question
I
think
I
heard
is
that
it
sounds
like
you
were
advocating
for
Crocs
at
school
and
it
sounds
like
the
stakeholder
said.
Yes,
Crocs
would
be
fine,
the
only
caveat
there
would
be
that
they
would
not
be
allowed
in
PE.
S
So
maybe
this
question
is
a
little
bit
outside
of
the
scope
of
what
you're
covering
here
with
changing
the
policy,
but
just
wanting
to
know
from
your
perspective,
what
would
be
a
fair
remedy
for
a
scholar
who
continually
does
not
remember
to
bring
appropriate
shoes
to
PE
and
can
continually
not
participate?
Do
you
have
an
idea
of
how
we
would
remedy
that.
H
H
I
think
with
Crocs
it's
interesting
what
they
are.
They
have
a
sports
one
and
everything
like
that.
Yeah
I
see
a
lot
of
people
using
sports
mode.
All
the
time,
NP
and
stuff
like
that,
but
I
think
to
like
remedy
people
just
coming
with
clocks
all
the
time
and
not
being
able
to
participate.
I
think
there
should
be
like
maybe
a
reminder
or
something
or
maybe
some
like
extra
pair
of
like
shoes
or
something
to
like
help.
H
Those
students
and
yeah
like
maybe
put
out
a
reminder
or
have
like
extra
shoes
for
them,
because
we
don't
want
people
to
per
not
participate
in
PE
me
personally.
I
love
PE,
so
if
I
messed
up
like
that,
I
would
always
try
to
bring
extra
shoes
or
like
try
to
get
a
reminder
every
once
in
a
while.
You
know
so
like
because
if
you
don't
have
a
reminder
of
course,
you're
not
gonna.
Remember
so.
Having
like
that
little
reminder
every
once
in
a
while
would
really
be
helpful
to
some
people.
K
I
am
not
gonna
lie
I,
if
I'm
being
completely
honest,
I,
wear
Crocs
to
PE,
sometimes,
and
it's
yeah
in
sports
mode,
I,
just
most
of
the
time.
I
participate
in
different
activities
that
are
still
physical,
but
they
don't
like
my
wouldn't
fall
off
or
anything
like
that.
Like
our
PE
teacher,
he
lets
us
play
volleyball
just
with
a
regular
volleyball.
K
He
lets
us
do
that
and
it
it's
a
good
activity
for
us
to
do
with
Crocs,
because
we
don't
have
to
move
around
that
much
if
we're
just
hitting
it
to
each
other,
so
I
think
having
other
activities
for
students
to
do
if
they
do
forget
their
normal
shoes
at
home.
That
would
be
a
great
idea.
M
M
I
believe
that
having
extra
activities
for
students
that
do
have
cracks
may
not
be
the
best
idea,
as
they
might
bring
Crocs
every
day
and
just
disrespect
the
rules
that
we
put
and
I
believe
that,
instead
of
having
that,
then
we
should
probably
let
them
sit
out
for
that
one
day,
if
not
the
whole
time
the
marriage
is
for
like
about
five
minutes
or
something
just
to.
Let
them
remind
them
that
oh
Crocs
are
not
allowed
in
PE
and
I
shouldn't
do
this.
O
Thank
you,
Miss
pereiro,
just
want
to
know,
that's
a
just
an
example
of
the
wonderful
discourse
that
happens.
You
know
it's
not
always
agreed,
but
we
learn
so
much
from
the.
S
Discussions
I
just
love,
hearing
your
ideas
and
based
on
your
experience
as
Scholars,
and
what
sounds
fair
to
you
and
as
as
scholar,
leaders,
it
really
means
a
lot
to
me
to
hear
about
your
proposed
solutions
for
the
problems
and
maybe
one
more
question
and
I
I
apologize
if
it's
taking
a
long
time
but
for
sagging
pants.
Another
thing
that
came
up
yes
sacking
pants
are
not
appropriate
right
and
it
might
be
difficult
to
have
these
conversations.
S
Sometimes,
what
do
you
think
is
an
appropriate
consequence,
a
fair
consequence,
a
conversation,
how
we
shape
that
with
sagging
pants.
Do
we
know
anything
about
the
motivations
Why
students
are
doing
it?
Can
we
address
it
in
a
holistic
and
grounded
way.
I
Consequences
the
first
time
it
could
be
like
a
small
warning.
You
know
second
time
like
maybe
like,
like
a
bigger
warning,
maybe
like
a
small
write-up.
Third,
it
could
be
like
a
like
a
slip
like
I,
don't
know
what
they're
called
but
like
a
slip
and
like
like,
if
you've
done
it
multiple
times.
That's
where
you
go
to
princess
awesome,
obviously,
and
you
get
like,
like
you,
get
informed
of
like
how
that
could
be
abandoned
on
that
and
how
like
that,
could
be
inappropriate
to
people
and
all
that.
G
For
my
opinion,
I
think
that
they
should
also
be
dress
coded,
like
they
just
called
us
the
girls,
because
it's
not
really
fair
and
most
of
the
guys
most
of
the
boys.
They
don't
listen
when
they
tell
them
to
pull
the
pants
up
just
later
on,
don't
put
them
back
down,
but
it's
not
fair
if
they
don't
get
dress
coded.
S
J
You
so
I
have
to
agree,
but
Natalie,
because
most
of
the
time
the
boys
at
our
schools
will
always
just
be
like.
Oh
it's,
fine,
it's
whatever
they
don't
listen,
so
a
concert
is
like
Natalie
said:
would
either
have
to
be
dress
coded
or
they
will
have
to
be
informed.
Their
parents
would
have
to
be
informed
because
they
can't
just
continue
to
violate
the
rules
that
have
been
established
for
a
reason
if
it's
outside
of
school,
that's
their
life
in
that
time,
but
in
school
grounds.
J
J
L
L
Yes,
but
I
would
I
would
like.
I
would
like
to
agree
that
it
is
very
inappropriate
and
that
there
are
rules
for
a
reason.
I
think
that
we
should
take
it
a
step
further
and
inform
the
parents
that
their
kids
are
doing
this.
So
they
know
that
hey
this
isn't
right.
Our
kids
shouldn't
be
doing
this
because
we're
on
school
grounds,
it's
not
appropriate
and
I.
Think
I
think
we
should
just
just
have
more.
L
We
should
communicate
more
with
the
children's
parents
at
school,
so
they're,
more
aware
and
more
involved
in
their
kids
lives
at
school
and
yeah
I.
Just
think
communication
all
is
really
important
when
you're
trying
to
maintain
a
relationship
of
scholar,
student
and
principals
of
schools,
alike,
wow.
R
M
What's
it
called
as
student
violation
dress
code
and
then,
after
that
we
could
get
in
contact
with
their
parents.
I,
don't
think
we
should
immediately
go
to
parents
as
they
might
be
like.
Oh,
they
don't
care
about
what
I
think
or
whatever.
Even
though
you
know
it
is
kind
of
gross.
S
A
P
I
would
say,
ladies
I
completely
agree
with
you,
but
I
think
when
we're
having
right,
you
guys
are
trying
to
bring
these
to
your
peers.
I.
Think
when
you
have
this
conversation
with
the
boys,
we
should
definitely
keep
in
mind
that
it
comes
back
around
and
I
know
we
deal
with
it
right
like
as
women.
P
We
have
to
deal
with
the
consequences
of
how
we
approach
ourselves
and
everything
so
I
know
you
already
get
it,
but
I
think
I
would
say
that
my
partner
has
this
argument
with
me
all
the
time
about
his
saggy
pants,
because
I
don't
agree,
but
he
has
the
same
argument
with
me
about
my
crop
tops.
So
I
would
say,
keep
the
keep
that
in
mind
as
you're
having
the
conversation
with
these
boys
that
it'll
be
the
same
way
for
any
dress
code,
violation
that
you
all
have.
U
U
So
governing
board
members.
Thank
you,
president
Hernandez
Dr,
Leon,
Lawler,
executive
team
and
student
or
nope,
not
student
council,
sorry,
scholar,
counselor,
so,
first
of
all,
I
do
want
to
say
amazing
presentation.
I
was
thoroughly
impressed.
Whoever
your
teachers
are
I
congratulate
them
very
well
spoken.
So
a
couple
of
things
I
just
want
to
say.
U
U
I
do
serve
also
on
the
the
safe
committee
and
I
think
in
terms
of
next
steps.
Andrea
Barrera
also
mentioned
this
in
terms
of
next
steps.
I
think
it
would
be
very
interesting
to
hear
your
point
of
view
for
the
behavior
Matrix.
U
What
that
would
look
like
in
terms
of
if
this
does
consistently
come
up
again.
What
that
would
look
like
one
of
the
things
that
I
was
thinking
about
was
the
gibbets
I
believe
they're
called
for
the
crop,
the
Crocs?
What,
if
that
keeps
happening
and
they're
inappropriate,
because
I've
seen
those
I
I'm,
I'm
young,
okay,
I
once
upon
a
time,
I
wore
Crocs
okay.
So
what
would
happen
if
that
continued
to
happen?
Okay
the
sports
mode
for
PE?
U
That
happened
right
so
I
would
like
your
opinion
on
that.
What
does
that
look
like
if
that
makes
sense,
I
could
by
all
means
cut
me
off.
J
Sorry,
I
believe
that
if
a
student
keeps
using
their
compounds
or
privileges
in
an
appropriate
way,
their
privilege
would
have
to
be
taken
away
because
we
have
established
the
rules
and
we
can
give
them
warnings.
But
if
those
warnings
continue
to
love
and
they
do
not
change
their
behavior,
they're
gonna
have
to
take.
J
For
example,
the
student
wears
caught
dogs
to
like
every
single
day
to
be
like
we
discussed,
and
this
not
change
the
behavior,
then
they're
just
gonna
have
to
lose
it
because
they're
not
gonna,
be
able
to
break
the
rules
every
single
day
just
because
they
want
to
and
I
feel
like.
It
only
applies
if
they
have
been
given
warnings,
they
have
been
being
given
so
many
opportunities.
Yet
they
don't
want
to
listen
so
they're,
just
gonna
have
to
deal
with
the
consequences.
N
V
N
The
teacher
did
bring
that
to
his
attention
and
he
never
bought
them
again.
So
I
feel
like
a
warning
for
the
first
time
and
if
they
do
keep
bringing
them
I
think
that
they
should
be
like
she
said,
taking
the
privilege
of
wearing
them
because
well
they
don't.
If
they're
not
gonna,
respect
the
rules,
they
don't
deserve
to
have
the
Privileges
to
wear
them
in
school.
M
O
So
Miss
Jesse
here
we
do
have
one
more
meeting
in
May.
It
is
it's
going
to
be
in
person.
I
will
add
the
behavior
Matrix
on
that
agenda
and
I
will
have
our
eighth
grade
scholar
Council
review.
It.
U
I,
thank
you
so
again,
amazing
presentation
overall,
so
I
appreciate
I
appreciate
all
of
you
so
again.
Thank
you
and
I
know:
parents
love
consistency
and,
at
the
end
of
the
day,
as
an
educator
in
the
district,
I
don't
really
care
what
you're
wearing
I
mean.
Of
course
it
has
to
be
appropriate,
but
at
the
end
of
the
day,
all
I
care
about
is
your
academics
and
learning
so
I
appreciate
the
amount
of
time
and
effort
that
you
put
into
this
so
overall
well
done.
E
Manapresent
superintendent,
Dr
Aguilar,
Lawler
members
of
the
governing
board
executive
team
and
all
members
in
attendance,
and
especially
the
scholar,
Council
I,
can
honestly
say
and
I
speak
for
our
lovely
principles
as
well.
Behind
us,
you
guys,
are
you
just
make
us
so
proud?
Our
hearts
are
so
full
listening
to
you
and
really,
when
we
talk
about
learning,
I
mean
you
know
the
surface
deep
in
transfer
and
what
you've
done
with
project
Citizen
and
learning
about
policy
and
taking
that
and
then
actually
executing
that
right
here.
It's
amazing.
E
We
know
how
many
hours
you
guys
have
given
to
this,
and
we
are
just
nothing
but
impressed,
and
so
thank
you
for
representing
the
Middle
School
8th
graders
of
a
Cartwright
School
Districts.
We
are
so
impressed
and
so
honored
that
you
are
our
representation.
E
Brian
knows,
I
am
a
big
dress
code
person,
I
love,
dress
code,
especially
being
next
to
the
park
and
Trevor
Brown.
It
kind
of
helps
us
identify
who's,
ours
and
who's.
Not,
however,
I
do
think
that
sometimes
we
get
in
the
weeds
and
as
staff
members
and
like
she
just
said,
we
want
you
at
school.
We
want
you
to
learn,
we
do
want
you
comfortable
and
I.
Don't
really
have
a
question.
E
I
just
wanted
to
celebrate
all
the
work
and
then
miss
hotigi
and
Dr
Aguila
for
working
with
this,
this
wonderful
group
of
Scholars
to
help
them
understand
the
whole
process.
So
thank
you
and
we're
very
proud
of
you.
Thank
you.
W
I've
only
done
this
once
before.
Thank
you
for
having
me
Madam
president
Dr
Lawler
governing
board
members
executive
team,
audience
the
superintendent
scholar,
Council
I.
Don't
really
have
a
question.
I
just
wanted
to
have
to
say
that
when
we
were
presented
with
the
survey
of
what
it
is
that
you
were
wanting
to
do
at
the
PAC
meeting,
we
were
as
parents
we
were
so
impressed
and
so
proud
of
all
of
the
work
that
you
have
done
as
Scholars.
W
We
want.
We
are
very
proud
of
you
for
standing
up
to
make
a
change
for
something
that
you
believe
in.
It
is
because
of
this
initiative,
encourage
that
you
have
been
able
to
make
a
change
for
the
future
students
of
Cartwright.
Not
only
does
this
affect
the
students,
but
these
changes
affect
the
parents
that
have
Financial
challenges.
W
These
changes
personally
affect
me
and
my
family,
and
so
for
me,
I
want
to
say
thank
you,
I
want
to
say.
After
seeing
your
presentation,
you
guys
have
done
an
amazing
amazing
job,
I'm,
seriously,
seriously
impressed
with
everything
that
you
have
done
and
I
see
nothing
but
just
a
bright
future.
For
all
of
you.
Thank
you
thanks.
N
W
M
W
That's
a
good
question:
I
would
say
if
that
had
been
more
clear
on
the
survey
than
I,
would
imagine
that
your
responses
would
have
been
different.
T
Q
Madam
president,
could
I
have
their
contact
information,
so
I
can
share
some
of
the
decisions
that
I
have
to
make
that
maybe.
A
I
can
bounce
off
of
them,
we'll
just
call
them
back
for
future
meetings
lost
my
train
of
thought
again:
I'm,
sorry,
Miss,
Angela
Harris
is
our
parent
advisory
council
president.
So
Madam
president,
thank
you
for
being
here
this
evening
and
Madam
vice
president.
Thank
you
as
well
great
great
job.
Taking
that
opportunity
to
ask
the
follow-up
question
as
well,
so
that
was
that
was
a
great
opportunity.
I'm
gonna
hold
my
questions.
I
can
always
send
them
later
through
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler.
A
A
A
It's
the
reason
that
we're
here
and
so
I
know
it
gives
me
chills
to
sit
here
and
watch
you
and
be
so
eloquent,
and
sometimes
maybe
ask
you
to
you
know,
be
my
little
speaker
in
the
ear
so
that
you
can
tell
me
how
to
say
things
as
well.
As
you
I
know,
your
parents
are
extremely
proud,
but
I
just
want
you
to
know
that
we're
extremely
proud.
A
It's
like
we
have
our
own
kids
up
here
and
we're
watching
them,
and
it's
just
an
incredible
moment:
I'm
honored
and
humbled
to
be
a
part
of
this
and
you've
been
incredible
at
you
know
your
civil
discourse
and
you
know
going
through
the
process
and
your
disagreements
and
yet
still
being
able
to
produce
the
results
and
I
know
that
it
took
you
a
really
really
really
long
time.
A
M
Just
wanted
to
thank
everyone
that
is
here
today
this
evening.
Thank
you,
everyone
for
all
of
your
comments,
your
questions
and
your
concerns.
This
will
definitely
help
us
for
future
reference
and
will
give
us
something
to
think
about,
and
it
means
the
world
to
us
that
everyone
is
here
listening
to
us
speak.
Thank
you.
J
And
everyone
else,
because
you
guys,
chose
us
for
this
position
and
if
it
weren't
for
you
I
mean
we
probably
wouldn't
be
here.
You
gave
us
this
opportunity
to
help
each
other
and
to
be
part
of
this
and
to
speak
our
mind
and
to
hopefully
make
changes
with
changes
that
are
better
I
want
to
thank
everybody
for
being
here,
like
mother,
said
for
listening
to
us
for
considering
our
ideas
and
for
always
being
so
supportive
for
always
being
amazing.
Thank
you
for
all,
because
it's
really
I
think
I
can
speak
for
all
of
us.
J
A
Foreign,
thank
you
so
much
for
being
here.
We
all
we
all
wanted
to
have
a
student,
a
scholar
on
the
diocese
and
I
know
you
were
one
of
them.
So
thank
you
for
coming
back
and
now
we
have
eight,
which
just
goes
to
show
the
level
of
collaboration
and
inclusion
that
we
have
here
in
Cartwright.
We
have
our
Representatives
out
here.
We
now
have
eight
Scholars,
our
superintendent
scholar
Council
here
on
the
dice
running
our
meeting
for
us,
which
is
incredible
dreams,
come
true.
A
Bucket
list
checked
off
check,
and
the
last
thing
I'd
like
to
do
is,
if
you
would,
if
our
parents
that
are
here
this
evening,
if
you
could
please
stand
and
Guardians
parents
and
Guardians,
if
you
could
please
stand,
we
want
to
thank
you
so
much.
A
Please
be
proud
of
yourselves,
these
are
your
children
and
we
may
feel
like
there
are
children
but
they're
your
children
and
with
your
guidance
and
your
love
and
all
of
the
experiences
that
you've
provided
them.
These
are
them
and
we
are
extremely
proud,
so
I
know
that
you
all
your
hearts,
are
probably
about
to
blow
out
of
your
chest
just
with
pride
and
thank
you
so
much
for
being
here
this
evening,
and
we
can't
do
this
without
you.
Thank.
O
O
A
We're
going
to
have
the
scholars
in
the
board,
take
pictures
during
the
break
and
then
we'll
have
the
parents
and
Guardians
and,
and
then,
if
parents
and
Guardians
want
to
take
a
picture,
you
can
do
that
as
well.
A
Ready,
okay
and
it
is
606
pm
and
we
are
going
to
take
a
break
so
that
we
can
allow
time
for
the
Paparazzi.
Thank
you
and
it's
606.
A
A
We
are
back
in
session
at
6,
24
pm
and
we
are
on
item
F,
which
is
our
call
to
the
public.
Do
we
have?
Ladies?
Do
we
have
any
call
to
public
this
evening
all
right
with
that
we're
going
to
freeze
right
on
past
that
one
move
to
item
G,
which
is
our
consent
agenda
and
I,
would
like
to
make
a
motion
to
approve
tonight's
consent
agenda,
as
presented
at
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
study
session
study
session,
followed
by
regular
meeting
with
executive
session
of
Thursday
April
13
2023.
A
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez.
We
do
have
a
motion
made
by
myself,
Marissa
Hernandez
and
a
second
by
governing
board
member
Ms
Lydia
Hernandez
any
discussion
all
right.
We
are
going
to
do
our
roll
call
vote
governing
board
member
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez,
governing
board
member
abathia.
How
do
you
vote
hi
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
abathia.
Vice
president
Garcia.
How
do
you
vote
hi
vodai?
Thank
you.
Miss
Garcia
Ivory
as
well,
and
the
motion
carries
unanimously.
A
O
Thank
you
board,
president
members
of
the
governing
board
special
guest
executive
leadership,
team
audience
principals
and
those
watching
on
YouTube.
We
have
some
some
congratulations
in
order.
What
I'd
like
for
you
to
do
when
I
call
your
name
is
you
have
to
come
up
and
you
have
to
stand
here
and
we're
going
to
take
your
pictures
after
everybody
with
the
whole
group,
so
I
would
like
to
say:
congratulations
to
Patrick
masura
he's
going
to
be
the
new
assistant
principal
at
CW
Harris.
O
A
We
do
not
have
any
action
items
this
evening
for
item
H,
so
we're
going
to
Breeze
past
that
one
as
well
and
we're
going
to
go
on
to
item
I,
which
is
our
report
summary
current
event.
Everyone
drive
safe,
please,
which
is
presented
by
your
superintendent,
Dr
Leanne
Aguilar
Lawler.
Thank
you.
O
It's
so
wonderful,
seeing
the
families
come
to
celebrate
good
evening.
Madam
president
members
of
the
governing
board
executive
leadership,
team,
special
guests
principals
and
those
in
the
audience
and
those
watching
on
YouTube
tonight,
I
asked
Dr
Medrano
and
Alex
Mata,
our
District
Operations
superintendent
and
transportation
director
to
provide
us
an
update.
X
So
our
topics
that
will
be
providing
an
update
on
this
evening
is
going
to
be
where
our
current
status
is
on
seat
belts
and
our
buses.
Also.
What
accident
procedures
that
we
follow?
Should
we
run
into
an
accident
situation
during
our
routes
or
on
field
trips,
and
then
also
where
we're
at
with
our
new
micro
birds
that
were
in
possession
of
and
how
we're
able
to
to
use
those
it's
very
exciting
and
also
our
electric
bus
initiative,
just
where
we
stand
right
now?
X
What
opportunity,
with
opportunities
that
we're,
keeping
our
eyes
on
and
currently
pursuing
and
then
with
kind
of
paired,
with
the
new
micro
birds
and
just
buses
overall
field
trip
opportunities
that
we've
been
able
to
provide
throughout
the
year
and
then
what
our
current
Staffing
levels
look
like.
Y
Hello
president
Hernandez
governing
board
executive
team,
hello,
Alex,
Mata,
director
of
Transportation
cardi,
School,
District
and
shorts.
Okay,
so
just
want
to
give
you
a
rundown
on
our
accident
procedures
and
just
but
I
want
to
give
you
some
information
on
accidents.
You
know
there's
three
types
of
accidents
that
we
deal
with
when
other
motorists
are
involved,
we
get
I
call
it
clipped
quite
often
when
we're
driving
the
mirrors
are
out
people
and-
and
you
notice,
you'll
notice
after
I
say
this
more.
Y
When
you
look
tonight,
you'll
see
people
swerving
more
as
they're
checking
their
cell
phones
and
as
you're
sitting
on
the
bus
and
you're
way
up
high.
You
see
a
whole
different
perspective
when
you're
driving
down
the
street,
so
we
get
clipped
quite
a
bit
and
there's
procedures
in
place.
If
they
stop,
we
pull
over
if
et
cetera,
et
cetera.
We
check
for
damage,
but
it's
when
other
Motors
are
involved.
Y
Those
those
happen
quite
not
as
often
as
I'm
saying,
but
then
we
have
the
hit
and
runs
and
the
accidents
we
have
pedestrian
accidents.
Thankfully,
since
I've
been
here,
I'm
none,
that's
when
you
know
people
cross
in
front
of
a
bus
too
closely.
They
don't.
You
know
they're
walking
on
the
side
of
the
bus
they
trip,
they
fall.
I
put
10
feet
there
on,
because
it
is
in
our
standards
that
we
do
tell
the
students.
Y
When
we
start
the
year
when
we
go
over
the
rules
with
the
students,
you
want
to
cross
10
feet
in
front
10
feet
in
back
and,
as
you
drive
around,
you
may
see
some
buses
that
have
like
an
arm
in
the
front.
Some
city
buses
have
them
when
they
put
out
the
stop
sign
it
comes
out,
and
that
is
to
stop
people
from
walking
directly
in
front
of
a
bus,
because
when
you
drop
students
at
the
stop,
you
must
put
the
brake
and
neutral
and
then
open
the
door.
Y
But
at
the
same
time
you
know
the
10
feet
rule
so
just
thought
I'd
share
that
with
you.
Then
we
have
bus
failures.
You
know,
unfortunately,
a
transmission
goes
out,
a
steering
column
goes
out
and
we
sort
to
the
right
sort
of
to
the
left
haven't
dealt
with
anything
like
that
since
I've
been
here.
Luckily,
then,
we
also
have
an
accident
versus
an
incident
accidents
when
there's
property
damage
injury
to
a
person
damage
to
the
bus
that
makes
it
unsafe.
Y
If
you
know
we
get
dented,
we
get
hit,
we
get
dented
as
long
as
it
doesn't
do
anything
to
the
buses
actual
operational,
safe,
operational
status.
Then
we
can
go
ahead
and
use
it.
If
it's
paint
comes
off,
we
we
must
repaint
it.
It
has
to
really
have
to
be
as
yellow
as
possible.
Okay,
then,
the
incident
it's
just
when
there's
no
damage
or
minor
damage
to
the
bonus
which
is
the
clipping.
You
know
you
hit
a
mirror,
the
mirror
just
turns,
and
then
we
stop
pull
over
check
it
assess
and
we'll
keep
going.
Y
Well,
I,
guess,
not.
Okay,
sorry,
all
right,
my
apologies
I
will
make
sure
that
I
get
a
copy
of
our
accident
procedures.
It's
detailed
in
our
handbook.
It's
on
the
procedures.
The
bus
driver
follows
step.
One
and
I'll
go
off.
My
memory
basically
assess
the
situation,
make
sure
the
students
are
safe,
step
two
make
sure.
Y
If
you
know
we
need
to
call
9-1-1
or
not,
they
call
dispatch
after
they
assess
the
safety
of
the
students,
because
we
don't
want
to
waste
time
calling
in
dispatch
hey
I've
been
at
this
accident
when
they
could
be
calling
9-1-1
to
get
them
there.
If
there's
any
any
serious
injuries
on
an
accident
haven't
had
anything
like
that
been
lucky
so
after
that
they
call
dispatch.
Y
Y
If
there's
students
on
board
police
are
called
no
matter
what
they
need
to
clear
the
bus
to
make
sure
that
there's
no
injuries
to
the
students
and
they'll
determine
if
you
have
you
know,
they'll
ask
the
kids:
how
are
you
doing
and
they'll
clear
the
bus
and
and
we'll
move
on?
If
there's
no
students
on
the
bus,
then
it's
more
handled
it's
handled
more.
Like
a
accident,
you
can
exchange
information.
We
still
do
call
the
police
and
they'll.
Y
Let
us
know
if
we
come
out
or
not
so
some
of
the
accidents
we
have
and
just
let
you
know
we
live
in
Maryville
High
saturation
of
people
I
think
it
was
like
200
000
people
live
in
this
Square.
You
know
the
place
we
we
love
and
and
so
daily
radio
checks.
With
on
the
on
the
2A
radios
watch
you
driving.
We
give
updates
as
much
as
possible
if
a
driver
sees
an
accident
they'll.
Let
us
know
hey,
there's
an
accident
here
here:
cross
streets
of
void
the
area.
Y
If
you
can,
will
you
know
a
construction,
we
try
to
avoid
construction
as
much
as
possible,
but
with
this
weather,
construction
picks
up.
Quite
a
bit,
so
safety
is
our
priority.
We
make
sure
the
students
are
safe,
secure.
We
once
that's
dealt
with
I'm.
Sorry,
we
go
back
to
dispatch,
they'll
start
contacting
parents
to,
let
them
know
what's
happened,
but
the
first
thing
you
never
forgot
the
most
important
thing.
We
do
contact
District
right
away
to
to
let
you
know.
B
Y
Just
happens,
it's
a
good
thing,
it's
a
good
thing,
so
that's
pretty
much
our
accident
procedures.
In
a
nutshell,
you
know
we
make
sure
that
the
the
they
grab
the
belt
cutter
to
if
they
need
to
cut
seat
belts
off,
there's
a
belt
cut
on
each
bus
in
case
any
Cuts
you've
also
take
kids
off
the
bus.
They
do
not
remove
students
from
the
bus
unless
it's
cleared
by
police
myself.
Y
Another
administrator
one
of
our
trainers,
bus
trainers,
but
we
do
take
them
out
of
the
path
of
danger,
an
example
here
on
59th
and
the
Indian
school
we
had
a
hit
and
run
and
they
were
in
a
big
major
traffic
way.
So
we
had
to
pull
them
off
to
this
area
in
a
safer
area.
So
that's
what
happened.
So
that's
right
with
that.
Y
Next
slide.
Please.
Y
So
we're
going
to
talk
about
seat
belts
again,
I
I
brought
my
I
brought
this
to
a
board
meeting
last
year.
You
know
and
just
real
quick,
real
quick
review.
I'm
currently
seat
belts
are
not
required
on
buses.
It's
a
local
decision
which
the
school
board
it's
a
safe
decision,
which
we
we
currently
do.
Y
We
have
just
a
quick
FYI.
We
have
51
buses
in
the
yard,
that's
what
we
call
it
the
yard.
We
have
six
not
eligible
for
you,
so
they're
in
the
back
corner,
they're,
just
phased
out,
they're
old,
the
engines
are
done.
We
need
to
get
them
auctioned
off
or
trade
it
in
and
we're
into
the
process
of
that
right.
Now,
we're
working
with
a
company
to
do
that.
Y
So
if
you
see
some
parked
in
the
back
they're,
not
usable
and
every
year,
buses
need
to
pass
an
Arizona
Department
of
Public
Safety
inspection,
every
school
district,
every
bus
and
we
go
through
the
process
and
if
they
down
a
bus
and
say
this
bus
is
not
usable
anymore.
That's
it
where
we
can't
argue
that,
and
they
will
come
back
and
say
you
need
this
or
you
need
yellow
paint.
You
need
to
update
the
reflective
tape.
You
know
you
need
better
headlights
they
under
over,
they
break
it
down
and
so
they'll.
Y
Let
us
know
if
they
down
of
us
they'll
give
us
the
day
to
fix
it
and
if
we
don't
get
it
fixed
within
that
day,
they
go
on
another
district
and
it
might
be
a
month
or
so
before
they
could
come
back
and
clear
it.
So
we
have
a
good
record,
our
shop,
our
shop
mechanics
they're
on
top
of
it,
and
they
do
a
really
really
good
job
at
that.
Y
What
do
you
do
so
right
now
we
have
37,
buses
have
seat
belts,
10
buses
are
not
seat,
belted
eight
are
not
able,
they
were
not
in
I,
don't
know
if
you
recall
they
weren't
purchased
with
the
ability
to
have
seat
belts
installed,
it's
just
the
reality
of
it.
Major
modification
required
and
I.
Think
at
the
time
we
we
thought
it
best
not
to
pull
up
the
floor
and
put
frames
that
weren't
actually
built
for
that
bus.
Y
We
ran
into
a
few
problems
with
two
buses,
because
the
frames
the
way
I
understood
it
and
it
makes
sense
to
me
a
frame
made
for
the
same
bus
in
Missouri
versus
the
same
frame
made
in
you
know:
Virginia
just
don't
match
exactly
on
the
floor
holes
it's
just
they're
the
same,
but
they're
just
a
little
off
I,
don't
know
so.
Y
At
this
time
we
chose
not
to
drill
any
holes.
So
that's
where
we're
at
and
I
did
mention
to
this
I
mentioned
this
last
time.
Some
of
the
newer
buses,
if
not
all
the
newer
buses,
don't
have
seat
belts,
they
weren't
ordered
with
them.
Okay,
but
they
are
safe.
The
DPS
inspector
had
a
big
hour
discussion
with
him
about
seat
belts
in
he
says
the
safest
place
to
be
on
anywhere
is
a
school
bus.
Come.
Let
me
get
the
word
out.
Y
Compartmentalization
of
the
students
like
an
egg
like
an
egg
carton
like
an
egg
carton,
okay.
So
any
questions
on
that
real,
quick.
Y
Right
all
right
next
slide,
all
right
micro,
Birds,
nine
ordered
since
I
put
this
in
place,
we've
gotten
one
more.
So
we
have
seven
that
have
come
in
to
drive
a
micro
bird.
You
don't
need
a
CDL.
We
have
a
training
program
in
place,
a
teacher.
We
have
15
people
actually
17
people
that
have
completed
the
training.
The
training
program,
I'm
gonna,
assume,
if
we
click
that
link,
it
won't
come
up
again.
Sorry
but
I
know
this
one.
Basically
I'm
a
teacher
I
want
to
drive
the
micro
bird.
Y
I
want
to
dry
the
micro
bird
I
send
an
email
of
interest.
This
was
sent
to
all
the
sites
they
come
in
on
a
Friday.
They
take
a
non-department
of
Transportation
drug
screening
and
they
do
that
once
that
comes
in,
we
they
go
on
to
Vector.
They
complete
the
15
passenger
van
safety
and
defensive
driving
modules,
which
are
pretty
informative
and
then,
at
that
point,
they'll
come
back.
Y
They'll
turn
those
in
they'll
come
back
and
they'll
sit
with
one
of
our
driver,
Trainers
for
about
an
hour
and
they'll
drive
around,
and
those
things
drive
very
nicely
very
nicely.
Y
Some
some
of
the
thing
recent
uses-
and
this
is
pretty
exciting.
Desert
Sands-
took
a
two
to
a
cheerleading
competition.
That's
the
picture.
They
said
that
they
just
wanted
more.
Flexibility,
didn't
want
to
worry
about
a
bus
and
and
worked
out
well.
Y
Castro
has
taken
some
students
to
volunteer
volunteering
opportunities
on
the
weekend
and
you
know
we
meet
them
out
there
at
the
yard
we
get
on
the
bus,
make
sure
it's
gassed
up
and
off
they
go
and
then,
when
they
come
back,
they
put
the
keys
in
the
Dropbox
and
send
a
courtesy
text
to
me.
Let
me
know
that
they're
safe
and
sound,
and
then
it's
just
start
over
mix
Barrera.
Y
Y
The
Harris
wake
up
has
done
some
state
capital
visits
as
well
Borman.
This
is
this
is
awesome.
Borman
originally
had
two
assigned
to
them,
so
they
could
drive
their
students
to
a
nearby
Field
to
practice
because
of
the
upgrades
they're
doing
there
and
one
day
one
of
the
coaches
is
like.
Can
we
just
drive
ourselves
to
games
because
these
things
are
really
easy
to
drive
and
they
we
haven't
heard
from
them,
so
they
they?
Y
We
fill
up
the
tanks
with
gas
but
other
than
that
they're
they're,
rocking
and
rolling.
So
so
it's
really
cool
and
then
also
too
we'll
use
it
for
some
art,
Club
transportation,
for
some
students
as
well.
So
that's
the
update
on
the
micro
Birds
they're
all
coming
in
any
day.
We
should
have
the
other
two
and
and
yeah
they're
really
nice,
and
if
you
want
next
time,
just
let
me
know
I'll
bring
one
out
I'll
park
it
outside.
You
take
a
look
very
nice,
very
nice.
X
All
right,
thank
you,
Mr
Mata,
so
where,
where
we
stand
currently
with
our
electric
bus
initiative,
just
to
give
a
little
a
brief
recap
of
of
where
we,
where
we
have
been
last
summer
last
year.
At
this
time
there
was
a
rebate
opportunity
that
was
released
by
the
Environmental
Protection
agency's
clean
School
Bus
program,
and
they
had
some
criteria.
Priority
criteria
for
districts
to
be
able
to
apply,
and
basically
the
way
the
rebate
program
worked.
X
Is
that
if
you
did
that
you,
you
could
make
your
application
and
that
your
name
would
be
put
in
for
basically
for
a
random
drawing,
and
if
you
met
certain
certain
priority
criteria,
you
had
increased
odds
of
being
possibly
being
selected.
X
Our
district
did
meet
one
of
the
priority
criteria
considered
to
be
at
after
per
the
epa's
definition,
a
higher
need
District,
but
there
was
an
overwhelming
response
throughout
the
country,
even
after
the
fact
that
the
federal
government
I
believe
doubled
the
amount
that
was
going
to
be
available
for
electric
bus
Awards
and
even
even
with
increasing
that
funding
amount.
There
was
still
such
an
overwhelming
whelming
response
that
our
district
was
put
on
a
waiting
list
and
we
still,
we
still
remain
on
that
waiting
list,
we're
check.
X
We
continue
to
check
on
it
and
so
right
now,
where
we're
at
with
the
clean.
So
at
the
time
we
had
submitted
for
seven
of
our
diesel
buses
to
be
replaced
with
with
an
electric
bus.
X
The
approximate
amount
of
what
we
had
submitted
for
was
about
two
point
close
to
2.8
million
dollars,
and
so
at
this
point
we
continue
to
look
at
the
clean,
School
Bus
program
website
as
to
when
either
the
next
rebate
or
Grant
opportunity
is
going
to
become
open
so
that
we
can
start
to
work
together
with
our
Brand's
writer,
Mr
Coppinger
and
Mr
stratman's
been
working
with
us
so
that
we
can
make
sure
that
we
get
out
and
get
out
on
that
early
when
the
opportunity
becomes
available.
X
Is
there
a
possibility
of
us
being
able
to
share
some
spaces,
share
some
Chargers
in
that
spaces
and
kind
of
Leverage.
Our
ability
to
have
a
wider
coverage
of
electric
buses
throughout
the
throughout
the
Maryvale
community,
so
Phoenix
Union
has
a
has
expressed
some
interest
to
us
in
in
partnering.
Together
on
that,
those
conversations
are
ongoing
and
Mr
koffinger
is
hard
at
work
in
filling
out
that
Grant
application
that
we
were
looking
to
submit
here
in
early
May.
X
So
we're
hoping
that
that
will
bear
some
fruit
and
provide
us
with
some
funds
to
be
able
to
provide
some
infrastructure
for
for
the
electric
buses
so
that
we
have
a
place
to
plug
them
in
and
and
get
creative
on.
Expanding
our,
not
just
our
school
bus
fleet,
but
possibly
even
our
white
fleets
to
some
Electric
all
right.
Any
questions
on
that.
X
Y
Okay,
so
as
of
the
100th
day,
we
had
driven
28
000
miles
and
that
included
field
trips,
Sports
and
activities
as
a
415
we've
driven
988
trips
in
total,
yeah
they're
we're
working
and
We've
also
been
able
to
and
we're
lucky
when
we
do
this,
it's
a
big
sense
of
Pride
within
the
department.
When
we
do
the
welcome
back
assemblies,
it's
a
high
stress
point,
but
when
people
especially
are
the
transportation
staff,
the
drivers
see
the
big
line
of
buses
and
it's
it's
pretty.
It's
pretty
cool.
Y
Looking
and
and
we're
lucky
to
have
a
staff
to
sizes,
sizable
staff
that
that
can
support
that
when
the
the
field
trip
new
system
came
out
when
I
got
into
the
transportation
department,
when
I
went
in,
they
were,
they
were
pulling
about
six
trips
per
day
and
it's
not
as
easy.
As
you
know,
I
thought,
I
thought
and
I'll
use
myself
as
hey.
Well,
we
have
30
buses.
Why
can't
we
do
30
a
day?
You
know
it
just
doesn't
work
that
way.
Y
There's
so
many
variables
to
account
for
buses
go
down
drivers,
you
know,
have
a
have
families.
You
know
they
have
things.
They
have
to
do
as
well,
then
we
have
routes
running
constantly
during
the
day,
so
those
drivers
are
driving.
So
we
have
30
buses.
We
might
not
have
30
drivers
to
drive
those
buses.
Y
Y
So
because
if
a
bus
goes
down,
we
have
a
bus
to
back
it
up
and
and
that's
where
at
so
and
it's
very
positive
for
the
Department.
They
took
it
as
a
challenge
and
and
they're
very,
very
professional,
they're,
professional
drivers
and
and
they're
very
good
at
their
jobs
side.
Note
with
this
hole
and
where
I'm
gonna
go
at
right.
Now,
where
we
go
you're
developing
great
drivers,
because
we've
developed
our
drivers,
I
say
most
of
our
staff
are
developed
locally
they've
been
monitors
at
a
site.
Y
They've
worked
in
the
cafeteria
and
through
a
friend,
hey
come
try
to
be
a
transportation
monitor.
Then
they
go
to
a
driver
and
then
a
van
driver.
Then
they
go
into
bus
driving
in
or
bus
monitoring,
bus
driving,
so
I'd,
say
about
9
of
our
staff
are
homegrown
and
the
people
that
we
do
have
that
have
come
out
on
great
people
as
well
that
have
come
into
the
Cartwright
District
with
their
experiences.
Y
It
just
kind
of
works,
so
they're
working
together
and
this
whole
system
is
really
helping
local
driving
when
they
get
their
kids
to
and
from
school
the
locations,
the
biosphere
on
Lake
Pleasant,
the
zero
waste
facility,
which
is
out
passenger
Valley
and
the
I-10
The
Wildlife
World
Zoo
we've
done
ASU
Symphony
performances
all
over
it's
it's
about.
Y
You
know
the
drivers
come
in,
they
get
their
it's
a
trip
sheet
with
the
information
where
they're
picking
up
what
time
they're,
picking
up
how
many
they're
picking
up
where
they're
going
it's
it's
it's
it's
exciting
it
is
they
all
fight
for
and
I
should
have
put
it
up
there.
Everybody
loves
to
go
to
tomachov,
Farms
I,
don't
know
if
anyone's
been
they
they
love
it.
Y
Y
I
can
put
it
I
want
to
put
some
fun
on
that,
because
it
is
an
adventure
for
the
kids
and
if
you
ever
want
to
know
how
the
trips
are
going
just
grab
the
bus
driver
because
they
hear
everything
when
they're,
driving
back
and
and
you'd
be
surprised
what
you
hear
at
a
bus,
so
I've
experienced
it
myself.
So
that's
on
the
field
trips,
any
questions
on
the
field,
trips,
no.
A
T
R
T
V
T
R
A
A
You
Miss
Garcia
I,
actually
do
have
a
question
really
quick:
Mr,
Mata,
Dr,
aguiler
Lawler
fellow
members
of
the
board.
Sorry
because
I
didn't
do
it
earlier,
our
cabinet,
distinguished
guests
and
everyone
in
attendance
and
watching
us
on
YouTube,
where
it
said,
as
per
as
required
for
the
six
spur
day
to
14
per
day.
A
Y
And
we'll
see
yes,
but
comfortably
yeah
and
we'll
sit
and
we'll
look,
and
if
you
know
it's
something
not
too
far,
we
can
push
it
even
further
if
we
need
to.
But
you
know
the
thing
that
we
that
would
just
it's
really
hard
on
on
the
drivers
too.
They
if
their
bus
goes
down-
and
it
hasn't
happened
to
me
but
I've
heard
it
passed
you
due
to
Mechanical
failure.
They
feel
bad
for
the
kids
because
they
really
care
about
kids.
They.
A
Happens
to
city
buses
too,
and
just
real
quick
I
just
wanted
to
point
out
that
I
believe
on
the
house
floor.
That's
our
baby.
The
Cartwright
baby
is
there.
Is
that
the
cart
rate
baby
in
that
picture
yeah
we
only
have
one
official
Cartwright
baby
I
had
to
blow
it
up
in
the
little
picture
right
there.
It's
Ricky
and
the
baby,
so
I
just
wanted
to
point
out
that
even
our
Cartwright
baby
made
it
to
the
field
trip.
B
Y
I'm
I'm
gonna
try
to
jump
drive
one
of
those
trips
one
day,
I've
never
been
in
there.
I
want
to
go
in
there.
So
all
right,
cool
next
slide.
Please
so
Staffing
we'll
talk
about
Staffing,
real,
quick
on
the
cart
and
I'll.
Just
read
it
because
I
when
I
wrote
it,
it
just
felt
right
to
write
it.
This
way,
the
Cartwright
School
District
is
committed
to
top
quality
student
transportation
during
the
school
day
for
extracurricular
activities
and
field
trip
opportunities.
Y
The
commitment
by
District
leadership
has
allowed
for
enough
on
Personnel
to
function
at
a
high
level,
because
this
is
high
level
functioning.
Currently,
Cartwright
transportation
department
maintains
a
staff
of
76
Personnel.
Our
primary
mission
is
to
transport
Scholars
safely
to
and
from
school
we
support
daily
routes
to
and
from
school
athletic
activities.
We
have
eight
schools
that
participate
in
the
league
and
three
seasons:
10
games,
each
so
half
are
away.
So
it's
it's
a
lot
of
driving
in
the
evening.
Y
Some
of
the
games
will
go
until
eight
o'clock
at
night,
they're,
pretty
pretty
intense
activities
for
the
Arts
field,
trips,
Boys
and
Girls,
Club
programs,
wake
up
clubs
and
various
requirements
from
departments
as
as
we
can.
So
that's
that's
our
goal.
That's
our
mission!
Y
Right
now
we
have
30
bus
drivers
that
are
CDL
certified
to
drive
or
certificated
to
drive
the
big
yellow
buses,
and
then
we
also
with
that
have
two
part-time
drivers.
We
have
two
positions
like
one
is
a
city
driver
who,
on
the
off
time,
will
come
in
and
drive
first
in
the
mornings
and
yeah,
so
he
does
that
we
have
two
trainers
and
that
they
drive
and
then
by
DPS
Arizona's
DPS
standards.
Y
They
maintain
training
and
safety
requirements
that
we
have
to
do
every
year
like
we
have
to
do
refresher
courses,
we
have
to
send
updates
to
the
DPS
to
Department
of
Public
Safety
in
terms
of
our
fire.
Drills
two-year
per
bus
driver
is
required
to
maintain
your
certificate.
Y
There's
just
so
many.
You
know
random.
You
know
drug
screenings
that
we
have
to
do,
there's
just
so
many
things,
so
they
they
are
very,
very
important
to
the
department
and
then
also
to
be
a
trainer.
You
have
to
be
certified
through
the
Department
of
Public
Safety.
They
have
to
certify
you
there's
a
requirement.
There's
a
length
time
you've
been
driving.
Then
you
have
to
pass
a
test.
It's
it's.
A
certificated,
a
driver
in
general
is
a
certificated
position.
Y
We
have
one
fueler
who
I
ask
every
day.
How
are
we
doing?
How
are
we
doing?
You
know
we?
We
have
a
night,
we
have
a
bigger
tank
than
most
districts
fuel
tank
to
to
store
on
fuel,
so
it
helps,
but
with
the
costs
it's
just.
How
are
we
doing?
Do
we
order
and
do
we
have
to
order
and
I
I
I'm
I'm
very
blessed
to
have
her
her
support?
Y
She
drives,
she
supports
fueling
and
then
she
also
make
sure
that
assures
that
we
have
enough
cleaning
and
safety
supplies
for
our
vehicles,
because
it
is
also
part
of
the
azdps
standards
that
the
vehicles
we
kept
clean
and
so
that's
big.
We
have
four
people
in
the
shop.
That's
the
mechanics
and
that's
I,
call
it
the
shop.
Three
of
them
are
certified
to
drive
buses
and
they
do
back
us
up
quite
a
bit.
R
Y
Running
and
they
drive
as
needed
and
they're
really
good
at
their
job.
Actually
very
good,
like
we
have
a
small
engines,
small
engine
mechanic
who
next
year
we're
going
to
find
a
way
I
have
to
find
a
way
to
monitor
how
much
money
he
saves
our
district
because
he
repairs
so
much
of
our
of
our
small
Machinery.
Y
Instead
of
buying
new,
buy,
new
and
and
so
I
have
to
find
a
way
because
it's
a
lot
of
money,
and
so
we
have
five
dispatchers
five
work
in
the
dispatch
office
that
includes
myself
and
for
others,
two
of
us
are
CDL
on
drivers
as
well,
so
we
can
drive
the
buses
up
in
the
dispatch.
We
do
the
routing
the
bus
coverage
if
a
driver's
out
who's
going
to
cover
that
route,
Etc
and
then
answer
the
phone
customer
service
as
much
as
possible.
Y
As
best
we
can.
It's
some
days
are
real
low,
low,
even
kill,
and
some
days
like
today
just
happens.
You
know
just
kind
of
wild
days,
but
but
but
when
we
get
through
them,
we
we
appreciate,
on
each
other
and
and
the
experience
we
have
eight
van
drivers.
Y
They
transport
mckinney-vento
students
and
then
we
have
19
bus
monitors
and
what
they
do
is
they
support
the
the
support
on
of
students
of
just
students
on
buses.
You
know,
if
any
needs
they
have,
so
we
assign
them.
So
that's
19.
N
P
Board
members
Dr
Lawler
executive
team,
those
in
attendance-
thank
you
for
the
presentation.
I
actually
have
a
couple
questions,
not
necessarily
on
Staffing,
but
just
overall
with
Transportation
I
know
that
you
talked
about
that.
You
know
there's
continuous
trainings
and
certifications
requirements
throughout
the
state
that
we
have
to
like
uphold,
and
you
know,
but
as
far
as
like
when
a
new
bus
driver
or
somebody
is
coming
in
how
extensive
is
the
training
that
we
give
as
a
district
or
how
does
that
process
work
for
them?
Okay,.
Y
So
I'm
a
driver
that
wants
to
come
into
Cartwright
from
another
District.
If
I
have
a
valid
CDL
with
the
bus
and
a
passenger
and
an
air
brake
certificate,
it's
like
endorsements
on
your
CDL.
Then
we
hire
you,
but
then
you
have
to
transfer
your
CDL
from
one
entity
to
the
other,
but
we
interview
them
as
we'd
interview
anybody
for
a
job.
We
bring
them
in.
We
speak
with
them.
Y
We
don't
let
them
know
everybody.
They
know
how
valuable
they
are.
The
CDL
certificate
is,
is
go
it's
it's
hard
to
it's
difficult.
It's
not
easy
to.
A
J
Y
Know
then
you
know
so
we
interview
them.
Let
them
know
we
get
with
HR.
We
do
we
do
the
due
diligence
on
that
end.
The
reference
checks
make
sure
that
that's
all
you
know,
okay
and
then
the
trainers
will
meet
with
them
and
talk
to
them
and
then
the
biggest
thing
is
the
reference
come
from
where
they're
coming
from
and
then
the
interview,
because
our
interview
is
about
buses,
it's
about
driving,
it's
about
pre-tripping,
a
bus,
post,
tripping
a
bus.
Y
You
know
what
are
some
scenarios
we
throw
at
you
if
this
happens
on
the
road
with
some
students.
So
then,
at
that
point,
if
we
decide
that
they'd
be
a
fit
for
our
department,
we
offer
them
the
position
and
then
they
transfer
their
certificate.
They
come
in
for
three
days
when
they
come,
we
make
sure
that
they
ride
with
the
trainer
before
we
actually
put
them
on
a
route
and
the
trainer
puts
them
on
a
bus
and
just
as
a
and
some
of
them
get
a
little
boy.
Y
P
Then
it's
the
same.
Basically,
it's
the
same
thing
when
somebody
knew
was
coming
in.
They
get
that,
like
all
those
extensive
details,
as
far
as
like
the
CDL
and
all
of
those
other
certificates,
but
then
it's
they
spend
that
time
with
the
trainer
in
order
to.
P
Yeah,
well
more
more
so
of
when
somebody
is
I,
guess
more
of
just
what
is
our
practice
and
training
and
making
sure
that
our
drivers
are
knowing
what
like?
What?
How
they're
supposed
to
be
driving
the.
Y
Bus
okay,
I
understand
yeah
every
year
as
a
requirement
for
the
Department
of
Public
Safety,
there's
a
refresher
course.
Every
year
that
we
have
to
put
out,
it's
laid
out,
I'll
get
I'll,
get
that
for
you
and
anything
else.
We
want
to
add
on
it.
You
know.
T
Y
There's
Basics
that
we
have
to
cover
every
year
and
it's
you
know
busy,
that's
how
to
do
them.
Agility
testing,
you
know
just
basic
safety,
don't
you
know
turn
ratios.
Y
You
know
just
reminding
us
of
things.
We,
you
know
I'll,
stop
at
the
railroad
tracks,
it's
a
refresher
course
and
then
anything
else
we
want
to
add
on
to
it,
and
there
are
a
few
things
this
year,
we'll
be
adding
on.
We
want
the
monitors
to
we
found
out
through
a
recent
training
that
our
monitors
can
help
support
the
drivers,
a
little
more
we're
going
to
put
that
in
play.
P
Y
P
I
asked
this
because
I
I
mean
I've
never
had
to
file
a
report.
P
I
feel
I
would
feel
very
bad
honestly
I
have
a
bus
driver
hit
and
then
they
hit
a
board
member
and
just
the
feeling
that
they
would
have
on
that.
I
I
always
think,
like
I
really
hope
that
doesn't
put
pressure
on
them.
They
see
us
driving
around
or
something
but
they're
I
feel
like
in
the
beginning
of
the
school
year.
There's
a
lot
more
like
oops
got
hit
by
bus.
Actually,
the
beginning
of
last
year,
I
was
pulling
out
of
my
driveway,
and
a
bus
was
coming.
P
One
of
our
buses
was
coming
down.
The
the
the
road
a
little
too
fast,
but
I
noticed
that
that's
a
lot
of
like
beginning
of
the
year
kind
of
stuff
I've
noticed
it.
P
Y
One
of
the
things
that
I
found
when
I
came
into
the
department
is
people
were
very
focused
and
it's
the
way
it
should
be
on
time.
You
know
getting
their.
Z
Y
And
when
I
came
in
I
was
like
well,
we
need
to
do
it
safely
as
well,
and
you
know
I'd
rather
than
be
three
or
four
minutes
late
than
you
know
not
getting
there
safe,
so
I
I
understand
and
our
buses
are
GPS
Tagged.
So
you
know
if,
in
the
future,
just
the
client
can
say
I
can
know
exactly
how
fast
you're
going
right
by
our
house.
So
yeah.
Y
To
see
each
other,
no,
it's
okay,
yeah
and
one
of
the
things
I
I've
been
preaching
or
just
saying:
hey.
If
we're
gonna
have
any
type
of
arguments
or
disagreements,
let
it
be
about
buses,
maybe
about
the
craft.
You
know
about
about
our
job
and
and
it's
taken
I
think
because
people
do
and
it's
not
personal,
it's
about
safety,
it's
about
getting
the
kids
they're
safe.
So
that's
where
I'm
at
I.
P
Would
say,
I
don't
know
if
this
was
have
come
for
you
or
from
Dr
Medrano,
but
if
we
can
get
just
some
sort
of
data
that
shows
I,
guess
the
from
our
school
districts
compared
to
like
surrounding
school
districts,
of
like
the
accidents
reports
and
like
where
we're
at
in
comparison
with
other
districts
around
just
because
from
working
in
other
school
districts.
I
know
that,
like
I've
I've
seen
those
those
accidents
and
just
hearing
talk
within
the
district.
Y
I
can
I
can
look
into
that
I,
don't
know
if
immediate
District
information
is
available,
but
I'll
look
to
see
I
know,
there's
information
like
Nationwide,
the
State
of
Arizona,
maybe
but
I
can
tell
you
that
every
time
there's
any
type
of
accident
and
even
incidents,
we
sent
a
detailed
report
to
DPS
and
they
document
it
and
I,
don't
know
what
they
do
with
it
in
terms
of
how
they
track
it.
M
Y
Have
one
of
the
trainers
call
in
and
see
if
they
can
do
that.
Y
X
Hi,
thank
you
very
much.
Mr
Mata
Madam
president
members
of
the
board,
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
executive
team
members.
Everyone
in
the
audience
thank
you
for
hearing
our
Updates
this
evening
regarding
transportation,
I
just
wanted
to
Echo
Miss
Garcia's,
compliments
to
Mr
Mata
and
our
transportation
Team.
All
of
our
wonderful
drivers
monitors
mechanics
all
the
behind
the
scenes,
work
that
they
do
to
make
sure
that
we
can
take
for
granted
that
our
kids
are
getting
wonderful
transportation
services.
X
A
Very
grateful
to
have
everyone
there
and
I.
Don't
know
that
Jesse's
still
here,
but
I
do
remember
calling
and
how
happy
he
was
to
answer
the
phone.
So
love
Jesse,
he's
awesome
and
that's
at
like
5
30
in
the
morning
by
the
way
so
tell
everyone.
Thank
you
so
much.
We
definitely
appreciate
what
they
do
and
keeping
our
Scholars
safe
and
getting
them
to
those
field
trips
and
back
and
forth
from
school
and
doing
it
safely.
Absolutely.
O
Thank
you
Governor
report,
president
members
of
the
governing
board
executive
leadership,
team
principals,
those
in
the
audience
and
those
watching
on
YouTube.
You
know
I
have
to
talk
about
our
celebrations
and
we
have
a
lot
today,
which
is
a
great
thing.
So
I
just
wanted
to
say:
congratulations
to
all
of
our
new
administrators
I'm
very
happy
about
that.
I
look
forward
to
them
starting
next
school
year.
Congratulations
to
Eric
Alvarez
from
the
social
sciences
Academy.
O
He
recently
applied
a
very
large
application
process
to
a
PhD
program
at
ASU
and
he
was
actually
offered
a
full
package
to
to
get
his
PhD
in
learning
literacies
and
the
Technologies
program.
We're
very
excited
for
him,
but
also
excited
Vivian,
is
that
he
still
will
come
and
work
for
us
part-time
next
year,
so
he'll
still
be
here.
So
that's
great.
O
Also,
congratulations
to
Estrella
teacher
Miss,
natia
Clifford.
She
was
selected
to
be
a
lead
judge
for
the
senior
division,
Earth
and
environmental
category
for
the
Arizona
Science
and
Engineering
Fair,
which
took
place
in
March.
So
congratulations
to
her
also
more
good
news
from
Australia
teachers.
Martin
Finch
worked
with
the
actual
Vans.
You
know
the
Van
shoes
in
order
for
our
Scholars
to
design
their
own
shoes.
I
hope
you
saw
it.
This
was
amazing.
The
opportunity
was
given
to
the
wake-up
Club
students
and
from
Estonia
and
Cartwright,
and
the
big
reveal.
O
Also
from
Estrella
Sarah
Andrade
Sarah
Andrei
received
a
nomination
and
was
selected
by
the
Suntec
concretes
to
be
celebrated.
She
was
surprised
this
month
by
the
company
with
gifts
for
her
in
her
classroom
and
all
of
the
kids
and
it's
unknown
to
who
recommended
her.
However,
the
person
it
did
gave
the
following
statement
and
Janae
and
her
team
couldn't
agree
more.
The
teacher
loves
her
Scholars.
She
has
an
amazing
relationship
with
each
and
every
one
of
them.
O
O
Thank
you
to
the
Ronald
McDonald
House
for
donating
10,
new
children's
bicycles
to
the
Cartwright
School
District.
I
also
wanted
to
say
that
the
Cartwright
music
showcase
took
place
in
March,
where
we
had
an
opportunity
to
see
districts
find
his
band
and
strings
Scholars
perform.
The
event
was
a
huge
success
in
our
Scholars.
If
you
were
there,
which
most
of
your
principals
were
are
so
talented.
Thank
you
also
to
all
of
our
music
and
instrumental
teachers.
This
wouldn't
happen
without
your
dedication.
O
I
want
to
thank
the
scholars
and
sunset
leadership
team
for
you
giving
back
to
the
community
what
an
awesome
opportunity
we
recently
held
a
retirement
dinner
to
celebrate
our
Cartwright
retirees
I,
want
to
say
thank
you
for
all
of
our
retirees,
you're,
all
amazing
and
a
special
thank
you
to
the
public
relations
team
for
your
hard
work
and
organizing
this
Wonder
event,
and
thank
you
to
all
the
governing
board
members
that
were
there
to
honor
our
retirees.
It
was
a
lot
of
fun.
O
O
So
Meredith
gave
me
the
great
news:
I
know
there's
more
to
come.
The
other
thing,
too,
is
that
all
of
you
that
have
written
the
grants,
the
safety
grants
we
just
have
to
make
sure
we
can
find
Phoenix
police
officers
to
fill
these
roles.
So
that's
a
good
news
and
then
you
know
we
just
want
you
all
to
know
that.
So
that
concludes
my
update.
I
thought
it
was
a
great
celebration.
So
thank
you.
A
Congratulations
to
everyone.
Thank
you,
quick
shout
out
to
Mr
Alvarez
you'll
be
missed,
but
you'll
be
here
at
halftime.
So
thank
you
for
that
and
congratulations
we're
proud
of
all
the
rest
of
you
that
won
awards
and
accolades.
That
was
awesome
with
that.
We
are
going
to
move
on
to
our
item
J,
which
is
our
other
information
and
discussion
items
item.
One
is
our
notice
of
pending
rezoning
actions,
City
of
Phoenix,
sorry,
Dash
City
of
Phoenix,
presented
by
Miss
Victoria
Ferrar.
V
Good
evening
board
president
members
of
the
governing
board,
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
members
of
the
executive
team
and
cabinet,
and
everyone
in
attendance
in
person,
those
watching
online
first
I,
have
to
say
Lisa
excuse
my
poor
drawing.
V
That's
that's
my
attempt
at
drawing
a
circle
around
an
area
using
a
mouse,
so
yeah.
So
this
past
few
weeks
we
received
two
rezoning
requests.
Now,
obviously
you
know
the
school
district
doesn't
approve
rezoning
requests,
but
we
are
asked,
since
we
are
a
government
agency
within
the
area
to
you
know,
to
review
the
plan
and
you
know,
submit
any
comments
or
you
know
approve
our
support.
Shall
I
say
so.
V
I
have
specifically
asked
the
the
contractor
whether
or
not
there
would
be
age
restricted
or
you
know,
low
family
or
lower
income
family
housing,
and
they
have
not
got
back
gotten
back
to
me
on
that
they
want
to
do
a
zoom
call.
So
I
said
we
can
do
that
next
week,
so,
basically,
where
we
can
plant
for
about
a
hundred
and
I'm
sorry
25
students
out
of
112
units,
if
that
that's
just
kind
of
a
statistical
analysis
on
that,
so
the
black
circle,
my
poor
little
black
circle,
that's
the
area
that
is
Inc.
V
Is
that
we're
discussing
that's
the
area
that
the
City
of
Phoenix
is
being
asked
to
rezone
and
the
little
red
hot
mess
of
a
circle
is
where
the
other
way
is.
So
sorry,
I
did
my
best
next
slide.
Please,
and
this
is
the
the
previous
rezoning
request
we
received.
This-
is
the
81st
Avenue
which
really
doesn't
exist
in
that
field.
As
of
yet
and
McDowell
again,
the
black
square
is
where
those
65
units
these
would
be
more
of
a
town,
home
style
and
in
that
red,
circle-ish.
V
Correct
and
the
red
circle
issues
where
Pena
and
Castro
is
so.
This
would
be
within
their
boundary
now
this
is
a
65
units,
so
it's
a
much
smaller
development,
but
the
reason
why
I
wanted
to
make
sure
that
we
informed
the
board
is
because
when
we
did,
the
demographic
study
I
had
one
done
a
couple
years
ago
and
then
that
we
requested
to
be
updated
again
in
November.
These
projects
were
not
on
that
plan,
so
these
are
new.
These
were
not
accounted
for,
so
you
know.
V
Hopefully
we,
if
there's
children
living
in
that
area
they
would
attend.
Our
schools
would
certainly
have
to
work
with
public
relations
to
make
sure
we
do
a
really
good
marketing
plan
for
those
new
construction
projects
and
if
you
just
kind
of
take
a
a
look
at
this
map,
you
see
a
lot
of
fields
there.
A
lot
of
Farmland
I,
don't
suspect
that
Farmland
will
stay
as
farmland
for
very
long
the
same,
maybe
in
the
fun
day.
A
Thank
you,
Ms
Ferrara
I
do
have
a
question
on
75th,
Avenue
and
Camelback,
but
that's
your
black
circle.
Yes,
we've
all
been
there.
So
no
shame
that's
right
across
from
the
Dairy
Queen.
Yes,.
A
Geographically,
okay
and
then
one
question
about
not
this
but
sort
of
rezoning.
The
apartment
complex
that
just
opened
across
from
Cartwright
L
on
the
west
side
of
approximately
59th,
just
south
of
did
that
bring
us
any
Scholars
or
we
do.
We
know.
V
That's
a
great
question:
I
do
have
access
to
the
maps.
I
actually
see
how
many
of
Scholars
that
attend
that
that
I
can
look
into
that
and
send
that
to
you
pretty
quickly.
A
Sorry
sidebar,
not
on
the
agenda.
Thank
you
any
other
questions
from
the
governing
board.
All
right,
wonderful,
looking
forward
to
updates.
Thank
you!
Miss
fryer,
all
right
item:
two
is
our
Borman
ground,
baking
ground
breaking
ceremony,
and
this
one
is
presented
by
Dr
Medrano.
A
X
The
board
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler,
executive
team
members,
special
guest
and
all
everyone
in
attendance
and
on
YouTube.
We
are
excited
to
announce
that
this
coming
Monday
I'll
sorry
got
my
months
wrong.
This
coming
Monday
April
the
17th
at
9
00
a.m.
We
will
be
having
a
groundbreaking
ceremony
to
introduce
the
new
Borman
administration
building,
that's
going
to
be
located
in
front
of
the
current
and
near
the
solar
parking.
The
solar
panel
parking
lot
now
just
just
directly
to
the
north
of
the
cafeteria,
so
we're
hoping
that
you
can
join
us.
X
We
have
some
be
a
very
exciting
event
and
we
we
just
look
forward
to
being
able
to
celebrate
this
milestone
for
more
Manila,
Frank,
Mormon
elementary
school
and
maybe
also
get
a
glance
at
the
some
of
some
of
the
work
from
a
distance.
That's
being
done
on
the
track
and
field
facility
right
now
as
well.
So
that
again
will
be
this
coming.
Monday
and
the
event.
The
festivities
will
begin
at
nine
o'clock
a.m.
So
we
hope
to
see
you
there.
O
So
far,
it's
worked
very
well
to
be
able
to
meet
with
teachers
on
all
campuses
that
are
part
of
some
Association.
We
feel
that
it's
really
important
when
we
make
decisions
to
have,
as
you
saw
Scholars
I
meet
with
principals
I,
have
ESP
forums
not
having
a
group
of
certified
teachers
to
solve
problems
is
very
challenging,
and
so
at
this
point
we
are
sort
of
doing
a
trial
basis
with
the
teacher
Association
team.
We
had
our
first
meeting
last
a
couple
weeks
ago
and
we
have
another
meeting
coming
up.
O
It's
gone
very
well,
I,
don't
know
if
you'd
like
to
comment
on
it
and
if
you
have
any
questions
about
legality
and
anything
like
that.
Well,
I
am
so
blessed
because
we
have
an
attorney
on
staff.
So
we
can
have
him
answer
so
with
that.
If
there
are
any
questions
or
comments.
A
Oh
yeah,
sorry,
thank
you.
Thank
you
did
either
of
you
want
to
come
up
and
say
something
Jessie's
like
Andrea
will
do
it
if
you'd
like
to
come
up
just
you
know,
let
me
know
thank
you.
S
Thank
you
so
much
Madam
president
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler,
our
esteemed
governing
board
members
and
our
executive
team
and
our
audience
here
today
and
online
I
would
like
to
thank
you
so
much
for
the
update
and
I
do
agree
that
our
collaboration
with
the
teacher
Association
team
has
been
successful
so
far.
S
They're
there
definitely
seems
to
be
mutual
respect
between
the
groups
and
I.
Do
think
that
this
cup,
this
collaboration
is
just
going
well
so
far,
so
I
really
appreciate
having
a
seat
at
the
table
being
a
part
of
the
teacher,
Association
team
and
again,
like
I,
told
the
students
earlier
who
were
here.
S
A
good
leader
follows
and
that's
why
I
love
that
you
have
a
teacher
Association
team
that
you
rely
on
to
help
to
make
decisions
in
the
district,
and
that
is
something
that
is
modeled
by
other
districts
of
Phoenix
L,
just
one
monthly
meetings
with
their
super
attendant
as
part
of
their
meet
and
confer.
So
this
is
something
that
our
district
has
modeled
for
the
rest
of
Phoenix
area.
S
U
Maybe
I
just
wanted
to
speak
quietly
governing
board
I
appreciate
being
invited
up,
so
I
just
want
to
say
you
know.
Obviously
my
heart
lies
with
cea,
but
again
just
to
kind
of
pair
it.
What
Andrea
was
saying
at
the
end
of
the
day,
all
I
really
care
about
is
member
representation
and
negotiations.
So
I
appreciate
just
as
Andrea
does
being
invited
to
be
here
today
and
get
that
representation
back
so
I.
Thank
all
of
you
for
this
opportunity.
So
thank
you.
P
Thank
you,
madam
president.
Fellow
board,
members
Dr
Lawler
executive
team.
Those
are
the
attendants.
P
I
from
let
me
just
say
from
the
conversation
that
I
did
have
with
someone
was
not
anybody
within
the
cart
right
staff
community.
So
just
want
to
make
that
very
clear
for
before
what
I
say,
but
from
the
conversation
that
I
had
with
this
person
was
just
trying
to
understand
the
what
aft
rate
is
I'm.
Oh
my
God,
the
acronym
right
aft
aea,
cea,
the
dynamic
of
all
of
that
I'm
on
from
what
I've
been
told,
is
that
we
can't
have
both
in
the
district
or
like
within
school
districts.
P
So,
typically,
a
lot
of
school
districts
have
one
or
the
other,
so
I
mean
not
to
say
that
we're
we
are
picking
one
or
the
other
right.
We
haven't
come
to
a
decision
on
any
of
that,
but
what
Mr
stratman?
What
would
like
the
legal
aspect
of
that
be
if
we
were
to
come
into
a
situation
between
both
of
those
parties
because
I
know
with
cea?
It's
it's
directed
under
aea.
P
Aft
is
not
really
it's
a
national
like
organization
right
it
just
roughly
like
it's.
It's
a
national
school
teacher
Association
in
Arizona,
okay,
okay,
Arizona,
overall,
okay.
So
what
would
be
like
the
legal
part
of
like
having
both
of
them,
if
they're
not
agreeing
that
we
should
have
both
of
them
in
our
district.
Z
You
know
I'm
I'm
I'm
glad
to
answer
a
couple
of
general
questions
on
this,
but
you
do
have
a
right
as
a
board
to
receive
legal
advice
and
executive
session.
I
will
remind
you
of
some
of
the
Dynamics
we've
experienced
here
over
the
past
few
months
and
some
of
the
advice
I
give
you.
You
should
probably
receive
behind
closed
doors
But.
Z
A
Thank
you,
Mr
Chapman,
Miss,
peretta,
I'm
gonna
hold
my
yes
come
on
up.
S
Hey
president
Hernandez
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
governing
board
members
and
our
executive
team.
Yes,
that
that's
an
excellent
question.
T
S
You
know
we
have
done
some
research
on
this
and
there
is
something
called
to
your
question
Mississippi
about
whether
two
unions
can
be
it
can
co-exist
in
a
district
and
it's
called
a
dual
representation.
So
it'd
be
a
dual
representation
model.
Both
both
Unions
would
have
a
seat
at
the
negotiations
table.
If
the
district
so
chose
to
go
in
that
way,
and
it
would,
the
representation
would
be
on
a
per
capita
basis.
S
So
that
would
mean
that
we
would
have
as
many
members
at
the
table
as
but
where
we
would
represent
a
ratio
of
of
the
members
that
we
have
in
the
in
each
of
our
respective
unions,
and
so
it
is
a
model.
It
has
existed
for
a
very
long
time
and
other
districts
do
have
a
dual
representation
model.
S
Mr
stratman
is
Right
absolutely
that
this
is
a
right
to
work.
State
8,
however,
many
districts
in
the
in
Arizona
have
elected
to
put
into
policy
that
they
will
have
a
a
negotiated
agreement
with
a
a
union
or
another
or
both.
So
there
are
all
of
these
options.
They
do
depend
right,
you're
not
legally
mandated
to
work
with
a
union,
but
it
does
seem
to
be
that
this
is
the
value
that
we
have
at
Cartwright,
and
so
it
depends
on
all
of
you
and
what
you
would
like
to
do.
S
So
there
are
many
ways
to
look
at
it.
But,
yes,
dual
representation
is
absolutely
a
thing
and
we
would
never
want
to
take
representation
from
other
union
members.
We
believe
in
every
worker
has
dignity
and
every
worker
has
a
right
to
be
represented
by
a
union,
and
so
we
and
we
believe
in
and
being
inclusive
and
developing
a
relationship
where
we
can
work
together
to
achieve
the
greater
good
for
our
Scholars
and
their
families.
A
Thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez
and
then
back
to
miss
with
you.
P
Thank
you.
Sorry,
I
just
wanted
I
just
wanted
to
to
state
that
most
of
the
reason
why
I
have
this
question
is
because
I
don't
want
us
to
get
into
a
pickled
situation
that
we've
we've
had
in
the
past,
so
I,
it's
more
to
make
sure
that
any
steps
that
we
do
take
like
we,
you
know
we're
just
dotting
our
T's
and
crossing
our
eyes,
no
crossing
our
teeth
and
dotting
Americans.
There
we
go.
I
was
like
that.
Doesn't
sound
right.
P
So
yeah
it's
it's
more
just
to
make
sure
that,
like
whatever
whatever
we
do,
do
in
the
future
right,
whether
we
do
Society
to
stay
with
cea
or
go
with
aft
or
do
a
dual
representation.
I
want
to
make
sure
that
we're
not
getting
into
any
other
I
know
Mr
stratman's
like
yes,
let's
not
do
that
so
and
I
don't
want
to
have
to
continuously
go
into
executive
session,
to
figure
out
the
legality
of
all
of
these
things
when
we
could
prevent
it.
So
that's
more
of
why
I
asked
this
question
yeah.
A
And
it's
a
great
question:
Missy:
before
making
any
move,
we
did
consult
with
our
board
attorney,
just
to
be
sure
that
we
were
doing
the
correct
things.
I
do
appreciate
the
question.
Thank
you.
Miss
Hernandez.
Q
Much
thank
you.
A
Madam
president
fellow
board,
members
Dr
Lawler
executive
team,
those
in
the
audience
and
those
watching.
This
is
something
that
I've
been
asking.
You
know
openly
and
publicly
in
terms
of
how
you
know
what
would
be
the
best
model
and
that
was
kind
of
confronted
with
you.
AA
Q
Trying
to
do
away
with
with
unions
not
at
all
I
was
looking
for
a
model
that
could
serve
as
a
form
of
communication
with
the
organization
because
I
certainly
validate
it.
There's
a
need
for
that,
especially
you
know,
for
you
know
for
our
employees,
but
you
know
time
and
time
again.
Over
the
years
we've
had
so
many
issues
I'm
stemming
from
that
to
me.
It's
just
comes
around
when
you
know
we're
discussing
funding
which
is
kind
of
every
every
year,
right
certain
time
of
the
year
and
budgets.
Q
But
can
you
tell
us
more
I'm,
familiar
someone
familiar
with
the
American
Federation
of
teachers
and
I
understand
that
at
the
national
level
there
there
are
two
major
two
major
organizations
or
unions
of
teachers
at
the
national
level
and
I
understand
that
aft
is
much
much
Nationwide,
much
larger
as
well
as
neas
they're,
the
largest
educational
associations,
but
I
was
doing
some
research
just
to
to
know
more
just
so
that
I
could
be
know
a
little
bit
more
delve,
a
little
bit
more
deeper
into
it.
Q
But
my
understanding
is
see
that,
while
Nea
at
the
national
level,
it
tends
to
be
the
more
Professional
Organization
while
the
Nat,
the
American
Federation
of
teachers,
is
more
of
the
Union
type
for
the
employees,
I
mean,
but
both
just
as
large
Nationwide,
although
we
you
know,
don't,
have
them
as
large.
Here
doesn't
mean
they're
not
around,
and
so
could
you
tell
us
a
difference,
maybe
at
the
local
level
of
what
that
would
you
know
what
would
be
that
difference.
S
Absolutely
that's
a
wonderful
question:
our
governing
board,
president
Dr,
regular
Lawler
superintendent
governing
board
members
and
our
executive
team.
Everyone
here,
wonderful
question:
Miss
Hernandez!
Thank
you
so
much
for
asking
that,
in
my
experience,
the
difference
between
what
what
aea
membership
looks
like
in
Arizona
and
aft
membership
looks
like
in
Arizona
to
me.
The
big
differences
are
that,
while
aea
is
the
largest
Association
and
Union
in
Arizona,
they
have
a
very
centralized
and
top-heavy
structure,
in
contrast
to
aft,
which
is
a
little
bit
more
delocal
decentralized.
S
And
so
you
have
smaller
pockets
of
very
committed
people
at
various
schools.
So,
for
example,
they
still
function
in
a
very
similar
way.
But
what
you
would
see
at
the
at
the
worker
level
is
that
because
aft
does
not
have
a
strong
central
structure
like
we
don't
pay
rent
for
a
giant
building.
You
know
we
don't
pay
for
like
like
a
lot
of
Staff.
S
You
know
all
the
time,
not
all
the
time
we
don't
have
a
centralized
structure
with
a
lot
of
Staff
in
a
building
and
everything
that
the
dues
are
actually
much
lower,
but
we
offer
the
same
amount
of
support,
and
so
what
educators
are
looking
for
is
because
we
work
with
people
in
education.
We
have
access
to,
for
example,
a
legal
support.
We
have
access
to
professional
development,
we
have
access
to
discounts
and
resources
free
college
right.
S
So
those
are
the
things
that
you
can
access
through
any
union
membership,
whether
it's
aea
or
aft,
but
the
with
aft
it's
going
to
cost
less
than
half
of
what
aea
costs,
and
so
because
it's
a
it's
a
more
decentralized
structure
from
what
I
have
seen
the
locals
have
more
power,
and
so
we
are
not
beholden
to
a
strong
central
structure.
We're
battling
all
of
these
politics.
I,
don't
know
how
that
would
change
moving
forward.
S
But
from
what
I
understand
aft,
you
know,
for
example,
in
Michigan,
is
super
strong
and
in
other
locations,
so
it
it
doesn't
mean
that
that
they
don't
have
the
experience
of
organizing
whole
states.
S
But
what
it
does
mean
is
that,
because
we
have
more
autonomy
and
are
not
controlled
by
a
central
local
that
we
get
to,
you
know
practice
our
Democratic
beliefs
and
be
able
to
work
together
to
solve
problems,
and
we
can
create
our
own
Charter
and
we
decide
who
what
when
and
where
with
our
bodies,
and
so
that's
what
we,
what
I
think
is
really
important
about
aft.
S
The
other
thing,
too,
is
that
aft
seems
to
be
a
space
politically
and
intellectually,
where
many
different
viewpoints
are
welcomed
and
that's
really
important
when
you're
trying
to
solve
big
problems
right
is
the
is
the
ability
to
have
civil
discourse
both
within
your
union
and
and
when
your
organization
is
interacting
with
other
groups,
so
those
are
kind
of
some
of
the
main
differences
that
I
have
seen.
Does
that
help
answer
the
question.
Q
Yes,
it
does
to
me
it's
as
I
think
about
this
I.
Don't
I,
don't
see
it
as
a
as
a
limitation
or
as
a
conflict
in
bringing
you
know,
you're,
bringing
more
more
representation
and
options
into
the
fold
at
the
end
of
the
day.
It's
it's
still
Union
and
and
the
work
in
general
is
there
to
be
support.
You
know
for
our
staff,
you
know
our
certified
staff,
and
can
you
tell
me
a
little
bit
more
now
that
I
touched
on
that
regarding
classified
staff
under
FTA.
S
So
what
class
aft
is
a
wall-to-wall
union,
so
we
do
also
welcome,
classified
and
certified
staff
to
join,
and
so
anybody
from
the
bus
driver,
the
cafeteria
worker,
to
the
teacher
to
the
to
the
paraprofessional.
Anybody
who
works
at
a
school
district
can
be
a
member
of
aft
and
be
supported
by
the
structure
and
we're
also
very
much
welcome
community
members
to
join.
Q
Looking
forward
to
it,
I'm
looking
forward
to
it
to
see
as
somebody
that
has
been
here
for
many
many
years
and
has
seen
the
same
issues
arise,
arise
over
and
over
and
over
and
just
looking
for
other
options
and
I
think
I
mentioned,
and
we
did
a.
We
did
a
study
a
few
years
back
and
found
that
I
know
that
the
Washington
School
Washington
Elementary
School
District,
does
not
have
a
union
per
se,
but
has
a
group
of
business
Community,
Support
supporters
that
that
are
engaged?
Q
You
know
with
the
district
at
a
much
diff.
You
know
it's
different,
but
different
level.
That
was
also
something
I
was
interested
in
looking
into
it,
but
I'm
glad
you
know
that
you're
here
and
look
forward
to
see
how
we
can
work
together
and
what
you
know
what
this
means
in
terms
of
best
offerings
for
for
our
staff
in
terms
of
support.
Thank
you.
A
U
U
It
I
really
do
appreciate
this,
so
I
appreciate
all
the
comments
and
I
know.
Andrea
brought
this
forward
and
I
don't
want
to
bring
up
the
legality
issue,
but
I
just
have
one
question,
because
my
heart
does
lie
in
the
cea.
A
We
haven't
made
a
decision,
but
what
we
would
be
doing
is
just
allowing
another
form
of
membership.
Yeah.
T
O
A
That's
just
discussion:
okay,
yeah,
it's
just
allowing
another
inclusive
option
for
people
who
maybe
prefer
something
else,
because
like
Miss
Hernandez
was
saying
the
more
people
the
merrier
I
mean
we
have
our
Representatives
now
something
we
never
had
before.
2019
we
had
our
student
on
the
diets.
Today
we
had
eight,
which
was
awesome
so
like
having
more
voices
that
can
be
heard
and
actually
work
towards
Solutions
and
compromise.
A
That's
what's
most
important,
that's
what's
most
important
yeah,
so
the
more
the
merrier,
but
no
decisions
have
been
made,
no
elimination
just
no
putting
the
floor.
Okay!
Thank
you.
I
appreciate
it.
Thank
you
all
right
and
with
that.
Thank
you,
ladies
for
your
input
this
evening,
really
appreciate
it.
We're
going
to
move
on
to
item
four,
which
is
our
update
on
the
National
School
Board
Association
conference,
and
this
one
is
being
presented
by
mesopathia.
P
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
Madam
president.
Fellow
board,
members
Dr
Lawler
executive
team,
those
in
attendance,
yes,
I,
had
the
opportunity
to
attend,
attend
the
nsba
conference
in
Orlando
Florida.
P
My
first
experience
just
getting
off
the
plane.
I
immediately
wanted
to
come
back
because
it
was
so
humid
and
I
was
not
a
fan
and
unfortunately,
I
forgot.
My
inhaler
I
immediately
was
just
like.
This
is
not
okay.
On
top
of
missing
my
baby,
the
entire
time
so
that
was
I
would
say,
was
a
very
challenging
trip
personally,
but
overall
the
I
mean
for
for
those
of
you
who
have
attended
the
the
conferences.
They're
amazing.
They
always
have
amazing
guest
speakers.
P
I
do
not
watch
the
show,
but
there's
there
was
a
everybody.
There
was
like
in
love
with
it,
but
one
of
our
guest
speakers
was
from
a
show
that
oh
gosh,
no,
you
know
what
I
don't
even
know
for
that.
It's
it's!
It
reminds
me
of
the
office,
but
I
can't
remember
the
name
of
the
of
the
show,
but
they
they
it's
about
a
school
district
or
in
a
school
and
in
this
principal
yes,
I
have
it
Elementary
there
we
go.
P
I
was
okay,
yeah
I
I,
don't
watch
that
kind
of
TV
I
do
but
I
don't
so,
but
everybody
was
just
sitting
there
just
like
glued
onto
her
the
entire
time.
So
it
was
really
nice
to
hear
her
speak
and
and
the
experience
of
being
on
that
show
and
playing
the
role
of
an
administrator
and
the
things
that
I
mean
I
was
just
like.
They
showed
clips
of
the
of
the
show
and
I
was
sitting
here.
Probably
yeah.
That's
definitely
what
goes
on
in
schools.
P
So
it's
very
very
interesting
because
I
know
the
the
my
mom
being
a
teacher.
I
know
the
life
of
what
really
y'all
really
deal
with.
So
it
was
very
interesting,
but
I
would
say
that
our
name
is
definitely
getting
around
to
people
in
Arizona.
It's
a
lot
of
people
were
like
this
is
exciting.
P
You
guys
are
moving
to
a
four
day
week,
so
I
actually
got
a
lot
of
people
that
were
very
curious
as
to
how
that
works,
and
they
didn't
know
that
our
Scholars
were
already
on
a
4-day
week,
so
that
was
nice
to
be
able
to
kind
of
brag
about
that.
We're
kind
of
already
doing
it.
Just
you
know,
implementing
it
a
little
deeper,
so
that
was
very
nice
and
I
was
able
to
get
in
contact
with
somebody
who
works
with
the
save
the
music
program.
P
Typically,
this
program
brings
in
funding
Federal
grant
funding
for
school
districts
that
don't
have
music
programs,
so
I'm,
trying
to
figure
out
how
we
can
still
get
some
money
or
some
instruments
or
music.
They
provide
a
lot
of
services
but
I'm,
trying
to
figure
out
how
we
can
do
it
since
we
already
have
a
department,
so
that's
kind
of
for
me
what
I,
what
I
went
and
before
I
even
got
to
the
conference
I
was
like
I
need
to
get
to
that
Booth,
because
I
want
to
figure
out
how
to
spend.
P
This
has
been
a
goal
of
mine
personally
to
tackle
on
for
our
for
our
district,
and
so
it
was
really
nice
to
even
have
go
to
the
to
the
band
festival
and
see
like
that.
All
of
these
kids
are
so
engaged
and
just
I
mean
Downs
man.
Y'all
y'all
have
an
amazing
director.
That's
there
are
some
two
trumpet
players
that
scared
my
baby,
so
bad,
but
it's
okay,
I'm
not
mad
at
it
at
all.
P
So
it
was
really
nice
to
be
able
to
to
talk
about
like
that.
Our
our
district
does
have
that
and
it
is
starting
to
thrive
again
so
trying
to
figure
out
how
we
can
bring
in
those
funds
for
it.
So
yeah
it
was
a.
It
was
a.
It
was
a
really
nice
experience,
but
I
am
glad
to
be
out
of
Florida.
It
was
way
too
hot
and
I
got
sunburned
and
not
a
fan
so
might
not
be
attending
any
of
the
conferences
in
Florida
again.
A
Thank
you
for
attending
msabathia.
It's
definitely
a
humid
place.
I
learned
that
in
December,
even
it's
very
humid
there,
not
good
for
bangs.
A
Thank
you
for
sharing
everything
that
you
learned
and
now
maybe
I'll
watch
the
show
you.
P
There
was
like
a
just
a
little
clip-it
of
an
episode
and
I
was
like.
That
is
hilarious.
It's
definitely
true.
Just
some
of
the
you
know
the
conversations
that
happen,
and
you
know
the
teacher
lounge
and
everything,
and
just
you
know
the
funniness
that
happens.
It's
it's
a
real
thing.
So.
A
Thank
you
with
that.
We
are
going
to
move
on
with
item
five,
which
is
our
request
for
future
agenda
items
as
information
and
discussion
at
a
future
governing
board
meeting.
Does
anyone
have
a
request-
all
right?
Wonderful,
no
requests
this
evening,
so
we
are
going
to
move
on
to
item
K.
That
is
our
executive
session.
A
So,
okay
with
that,
I
am
going
to
make
a
motion
that
the
governing
board
sorry
that
the
governing
board
vote
to
go
into
the
executive
session,
which
will
not
be
open
to
the
public
pursuant
to
Arizona,
revised
Statute,
38-431.03,
A1
and
Arizona
revised
statute
38-431.0183
for
yes
for
discussion,
consideration
of
the
superintendent
performance
pay
for
April
2023
at
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
study
session
regular
meeting
executive
session
for
Thursday
April
13th
2023
do
I
have
a
second,
oh
and
sorry.
A
No,
oh
I'm.
Sorry,
the
gardening
board
may
vote.
We
are
making
a
motion.
Let
me
just
redo
that
the
governing
board
is
going
I'm,
making
a
motion
to
vote
to
go
into
the
executive
session,
which
will
not
be
open
to
the
public
pursuant
to
Arizona,
revised
Statute
38-431.03
A1
and
Arizona,
revised
Statute
38-431.03
A3
for
discussion,
consideration
of
the
superintendent
evaluation,
April,
2023,
superintendent,
performance,
pay
and
contractual
terms
at
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
study
session.
A
Regular
meeting
executive
session
say
that
three
times
fast
for
Thursday
April
13
2023
now
do
I
have
a
second
second.
Thank
you
motion
made
by
myself,
Miss
Hernandez
and
a
second
by
vice
president
Garcia
will
do
roll
call
vote
Miss,
Lydia
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez
Mississippi
governing
board
member.
How
do
you
vote
I
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
Garcia!
Vice
president,
how
do
you
vote
aye?
Thank
you.
I
vote
as
well
motion
carries
unanimously.
Let
the
record
reflect
it
is
7
47
p.m.
A
We
are
going
to
close
the
regular
session
move
into
executive
session.
Everybody
at
the
moment.
You've
been
waiting
for
have
a
fabulous
evening.
Drive
safe.
Take
the
cookies,
please
maybe
grab
a
bottle
of
water
and
get
home
and
have
a
wonderful
weekend.
A
A
Welcome
back
everyone,
let
the
record
reflected
it's
10,
17
p.m,
and
we
are
back
in
our
regular
session
foreign.
So
we
are
on
item
l
item.
One
under
item
L
is
the
approval
of
the
April
2023
superintendent
performance.
Pay.
I
would
like
to
make
a
motion
for
approval
of
the
April
2023
superintendent
performance
pay
at
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
study
session,
followed
by
regular
meeting
with
executive
session
for
Thursday
April
13
2023
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you.
A
Would
you
have
a
motion
made
by
myself
and
we
have
a
second
by
Miss
Garcia
vice
president
and
we'll?
Do
our
roll
call
vote?
Ms
Hernandez?
How
would
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote
I
vote?
Thank
you.
Miss
you
miss
Garcia.
How
do
you
vote
aye?
Thank
you.
Miss
Garcia
Ivory,
as
well
in
the
motion,
carries
unanimously
yay
item.
One
has
been
approved
all
right
so
moving
on
to
item
two,
which
is
our
approval
of
superintendent,
contract,
Amendment
and
modification
of
superintendent
contractual
terms.
A
I
would
like
to
make
a
motion
for
approval
of
the
superintendent
contract,
Amendment
and
modification
of
super
superintendent
contractual
terms
based
on
the
terms
of
agreement
in
our
executive
session
this
evening
at
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
notice.
Sorry,
a
study
session,
followed
by
a
regular
meeting
with
executive
session
for
Thursday
April
13
2023,
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you
this
time.
The
second
is
going
to
go
to
Ms
Hernandez
governing
board
member
motion
was
made
by
myself
Marissa
Hernandez
and
we
will
go
into
our
vocal
vote.
Miss
Hernandez.
P
A
O
Madam
president
members
of
the
bar
executive
team
and
those,
if
you,
if
you're,
not
asleep,
watching
out
there
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
to
the
governing
board,
you
have
very
high
expectations,
and,
and
that's
so
it's
it's
the
reason
why,
together
all
of
our
team
can
do
what
we
do
for
the
district
so
continue
to
have
those
high
expectations
for
me
as
your
superintendent
and
any
future
ones
coming,
because
that's
the
only
reason
we
will
have
great
great
futures
for
our
scholars
in
our
community.
So
thank
you.
A
Lawler
with
that,
we
will
move
on
to
item
M,
which
is
our
executive
session
item,
one.
The
the
governing
board
may
vote
to
go
into
executive
session,
which
will
not
be
open
to
the
public
pursuant
to
Arizona,
revised
Statute
38-431.03
A1
for
discussion
concerning
a
level
4
employee
grievance.
Regarding
longevity,
the
employee
has
requested
public
discussion
of
this
item
in
the
public
meeting,
and
so
we
will
not
be
going
into
executive
session.
Z
So
this
is
a
little
bit
of
a
quirk
in
our
normal
procedure
of
going
into
executive
session
when
you
have
Personnel
items
statutorily
the
employee
impact
that
is
given
notice
ahead
of
the
meeting
and
has
the
option
to
request
that
the
discussion
happened
in
public,
so
the
employee
has
exercised
her
right
to
do
that.
So
we
will
have
this
discussion
here
in
the
open
meeting.
It
will
be
broadcast
just
like
the
public
meeting,
but
procedurally
it's
as
if
we're
behind
those
closed
doors
discussing
this
item,
so
I
would
just
treat
it
like.
Z
We
normally
do
when
we,
when
we
discuss
executive
session
items,
those
things
that
we
would
keep
confidential
to
protect
the
employee
she
has
waived.
You
know
that
confidentiality
requests
so
with
that
I'll
explain
to
you
what
we
have
we
have.
This
is
before
you
and
our
employee
grievance
process.
Z
So
we
have
a
regulation
and
a
board
policy
that
addresses
how
employees
who
feel
they've
been
aggrieved
can
bring
a
formal
grievance
level.
One
of
that
process
is
always
an
informal
conference.
Lots
of
grievances
never
make
it
to
a
written
grievance
and
it's
I'm
not
judging
that
this
one's
here,
that's
the
employee's
right,
but
I'm,
just
explaining
the
process
so
level.
One
is
an
informal
conference
with
the
immediate
supervisor.
In
this
particular
case.
Z
That
happened
to
be
me
because
it's
an
employee
within
my
department
at
the
conference
and
the
grievance
was
denied
in
that
informal
conference.
The
employee
then
requested
level
two
which
is
in
writing
and
I'll,
show
you
the
documents
in
a
minute.
If
I'll
just
explain
the
process,
though
level
two
is
in
writing,
the
employee
puts
it
in
writing
to
the
immediate
supervisor
and
the
immediate
supervisor
responds
in
writing
a
nurse
time
frames
and
so
forth.
Z
Employee
put
her
request
in
writing,
which
you'll
see
is
part
of
the
documentation
and
attached
and
at
level
two.
It
was
denied
as
well.
The
the
grievance
request,
essentially
what
the
employee
is
requesting
is
that
should
be
considered
eligible
to
receive
the
early
longevity
payment.
That
was
a
one-time
program
that
we
did
last
year.
We
have
a
longevity
program
that
is
for
has
been
around
for
a
while.
It's
for
employees
who
reach
a
25-year
Mark.
Z
They
can
participate
in
that
longevity
program,
but
last
year
in
an
attempt
to
kind
of
sort
of
wipe
the
books
clean
and
start
a
new
and
potentially
modify
that
program.
It
was
recommended
in
the
board
accepted
the
recommendation
to
do
a
one-time
payout
at
an
earlier.
You
know
employees
who
had
not
yet
quite
reached
25
years.
Z
One
of
the
conditions
of
that
program
is
that
the
employee
have
continuous
employment,
not
have
any
break
in
service
and
so
the
employee.
In
this
case
she
does
not
deny
that
she
had
a
break
in
service.
She
thinks
that
the
break
in
service
should
be
excusable
and
that
you
should
consider
her
as
being
eligible,
so
that
helps
provide
a
little
bit
of
context
to
what
the
issue
is.
Z
The
level
two
again
back
to
the
level
two
that
came
to
me,
I
denied,
because
it
just
clearly
from
black
and
white,
looks
to
me.
There
was
a
break
in
service,
so
it
was
kind
of
black
and
white.
The
reason
I
denied
it.
She
then
flower,
written
request,
as
the
next
part
of
the
procedure
is
level
three.
It
goes
to
the
superintendent,
the
super,
and
that
goes
in
writing
as
well.
Z
Z
Your
options
tonight
are
number
one.
You
can
act
on
the
written
materials
alone,
what
she
has
filed
as
documentation.
You
know
what
her
things
were
in
writing.
She
there's
some
supporting
documents.
She
gave
some
Communications
she
received
from
the
HR
department,
some
other
things,
so
you
can
make
a
decision
tonight
either
to
approve
the
aggrieved
person's
requests,
which
would
be
approving
her
to
receive
the
longevity
payment.
Z
Z
So
you
can
schedule
a
hearing
if
you
want
to
that,
would
be
at
a
future
board
date
to
actually
hear
some
argument
from
the
employee
for
me
as
to
what
should
happen
and
then
the
fourth
option,
which
I
would
not
recommend,
but
you
do
have
a
fourth
option
and
that's
to
not
act
at
all.
You
can
just
not
take
action
if
you
decide
to
do
that.
The
employee
has
a
right
to
arbitration.
Z
If
you
would
not
take
action
and
the
way
the
reason
I
say
not
not
I,
don't
recommend
that
I
just
think
personally,
good
practices
for
you
to
to
be
a
board
who
makes
decisions,
and
you
know
end
it
one
way
or
another.
Whatever
your
decision
is,
and
so
your
decision,
if
you
do
make
a
decision,
is
final.
The
policy
says
that
pretty
clear,
so
what
you
have
before
you
in
your
board,
docs
agenda
are
several
attachments
and
again
I.
Don't
want
to
make
presentation
about
what
each
one
of
those
are.
Z
That's
what
a
hearing
would
be
for,
but
what
you
see
there
is
her
written
request
and
the
responses
to
her
were
pretty
much
done
in
email
and
that's
fine.
It's
in
writing.
So
you'll
see
her
original
email,
there's
kind
of
an
email
dialogue.
You
can
see.
She
has
one
lengthy
email,
that's
her
kind
of
written
explanation
as
to
why
she
thinks
she
should
receive
payment.
Z
You'll,
see
my
reply
to
her
saying
no,
it's
denied
for
this
reason,
and
so
you'll
see
that
dialogue.
That's
in
the
first
attachment.
That's
I
think
it's
labeled
level,
two
review
or
something
there.
Okay,
we
got
it.
Z
And
I
apologize
the
procedure,
you
know
I'm
not
going
too
much
I'm
Not
tooting,
my
own
horn
here,
but
I've
made
arguments
before
the
Indiana
Supreme,
Court
and
I
struggled
with.
How
does
how
to
give
this
to
you
in
a
way
that
makes
sense
that
the
the
procedures
kind
of
got
my
hands
tied
a
little
bit
about
what
I'm
able
to
tell
you
and
give
you
tonight.
So
you
also
see
the
level
three
review,
which
was
the
superintendent
review,
which
is
you
know?
Z
Basically,
her
email
request:
hey
my
I'm
still
requesting
the
same
thing
and
you'll
see
the
response
from
the
superintendent
and
says
no,
it's
still
denied,
and
then
she
also
had
attached
like
I,
said
some
supporting
documents
to
her
original
request.
That
came
to
me,
which
included
some
handbook.
Language
I,
think
help
me.
Z
If
I
get
it
wrong
here
that
it
wasn't
from
her
communication,
she
had
with
Ed
Murphy,
yes,
I,
couldn't
think
of
Dr
Murphy's
name
he's
got
a
communication
with
Ed
Murphy
when
she
left
you'll
see
an
attachment
that
is
directly
from
her
personnel
file,
which
is
essentially,
it
shows
that
she
had
a
break
of
employment
for
approximately
16
or
17
months
is
how
long
she
was
away
from
work
before
she
came
back
and
then
there
you
also
see
attached
your
board
action
to
approve
this
program,
and
that
was
about
part
of
the
meet
and
confer
approval
process
from
January
of
2022
looks
like
so.
Z
Z
You'll
also
see
an
attachment,
because
there
wasn't.
There
were
some
issues
that
weren't
quite
clear
in
that
meet
and
confer.
We
had
an
outside
legal
counsel,
come
in
Susan
Siegel
to
help
provide
Clarity.
So
you
adopted
a
resolution
to
help
provide
clarity
as
to
who
was
eligible
for
the
program
or
not
so
you'll
see
that
attached
and
I
think
that's
about
it.
The
policies
are
attached
there
as
well
the
procedure
for
agreements.
Z
So
with
that
again
my
hands
are
tied
a
little
bit
here.
I
I
could
ask
I,
could
answer
procedural
questions
and
so
forth,
but
kind
of
getting
into
too
much
would
be.
You
know,
conducting
a
hearing
and
so
forth,
which
is
supposed
to
happen
at
a
future
date.
Z
A
Q
And
not
relative
to
this,
but
a
comment:
it
is
in
a
way,
but
has
nothing
to
do
with
this
with
this
situation,
but
when
I
first
served
at
the
state
capitol,
there
was
a
bill,
a
very
important
bill
and
the
the
room
was
packed
and
it
was
about
the
up.
You
know
being
I.
Don't
remember,
it
was
I
was
supported
by
unions,
and
the
question
was
whether
Personnel
issues
should
be
discussed
out
in
open
public
India
in
place
on
the
agenda
or
done
in
executive
session.
Q
To
wish
I
mean
you
could
have
slapped
me
around,
because
I
thought
well.
Mine
always
wants
it
to
be
aired
because
that's
been
my
experience.
I
just
wanted
to
preface
for
the
record,
but
yet
we're
here
once
again,
so
we're
in
discussion
or
questions
and
just
for
clarification.
I
want
to
make
sure
that
I
understand
this.
So
Jeff
you
were
you
you've
reviewed
it.
You
responded,
then
it
went
to
Dr
Lawler,
you
reviewed
it.
You
responded,
and
so
this
is
a
just
a
higher
level.
Z
Personal
to
our
policy
on
how
you
go
through
the
grievance
process
and
she's
followed
the
policy
as
to
how
to
make
those
requests
and
the
right
timing
on
doing
it
and
so
forth.
So
it's
and.
Q
The
reason
I
this
is
close
to
me
and
I
remember,
is
because
I
got
several
calls
during
that
time
and
I
had
to
that.
In
fact,
that's
one,
probably
one
of
the
second,
maybe
two
times
that
I
talked
to
staff
so
that
they
could
explain
it
to
me,
so
that
and
I
could
I
could
explain
it
to
the
to
the
employees
at
the
cafeteria.
You
know
because
there
was
a
deadline
and
it
had
to
explain
and
we
didn't
have
all
the
information.
Q
However,
we
we
had
a
deadline
and
you
made
a
what
do
you
call
it?
This
is
the
right
term
of
payout,
one
time
and
that
happened
and
took
place
and
because
of
that
I
don't
have
any
more
questions
but
I'm
ready
to
make
a
recommendation.
Z
I
mean
you
I
would
not
make
a
formal
motion
yet
again.
Remember
we're
in
executive
session
still
it's
in
public.
We
are
not
to
the
action
item
and
I,
don't
know
if
other
board
members
have
questions
or
discussion
before
you
know.
A
I
just
wanted
to
make
one
point
of
clarification
that
the
longevity
program
itself
in
the
teacher
handbook
is
completely
separate
from
the
resignation
and
subsequent
rehiring
section,
and
that's
very
purposeful,
and
the
other
thing
is
that,
although
we
didn't
clear
up
the
language
to
say,
continuous
and
include
even
the
further
clarification
of
no
break-in
service
in
2022
2023,
when
we
cleaned
up
the
language,
it
still
should
be
25
years
of
continuous
service.
Because
that's
how
longevity
programs,
work
and
I
just
wanted
to
bring
that
up.
Z
Madam
president
and
board
member,
her
name
does
like
I.
Don't
want
to
quash
your
it's
hard
because
we're
you
know.
You
are
welcome
to
explain
to
your
fellow
board
members
where
you
stand
on
this,
like
we
would
behind
closed
doors
to
let
them
know.
This
is
how
I
feel
about
it.
So
you
know
if,
if
you
want
to
do
that,
you
can't
I'm
not
telling
you
to,
but
quite.
Q
Like
you
yeah
only
because,
like
I
said
it
was
I,
had
to
explain
it
to
to
a
group
of
employees
and
that
I
reached
out
I
wanted
to
make
sure,
because
we
I
knew
we
had
had
some
issues,
but
moving
forward
I
found
out
reaching
out
to
you
know,
found
myself
reaching
out
to
staff
and
making
sure
that
they
understood
it
because
they
spoke
Spanish,
and
because
of
that,
if
we
do
that,
if
we
were
to
do
this
and
approve
this
today,
it
would
only
be
fair
to
have
to
do
it
to
every
single
employee
that
we
paid
out
and
bring
them
up
to.
Q
You
know
bring
them
current.
If
you've
already
made
a
decision,
it's
been
through
the
process.
I'm
inclined
to
support
that.
R
Keep
it
I
just
think
that
was
actually
a
good
point,
because
that
would
be
across
the
board
and
what's
fair,
for
one
is
fair
for
all.
P
T
P
It's
more
I
guess
it's
more
to
like
kind
of
piggyback
off
of
what
my
fellow
board
members
were
saying,
but
like
have,
we
I
mean.
Obviously
this
is
the
first
that
were
you
know
that
I'm
experiencing
this
with
with
longevity.
This
is
the
first
meeting
that
I've
had
on
this
in
a
on
an
issue
like
this,
but
have
we
had
any
like
right,
we're
saying
that
it's
fair
to
keep
it
across
the
board
as
far
as
like
other
people
that
are
like
asking
asking
for
this
grievance
is?
P
Z
I
think
I
can
respond.
Factually
we've
had
a
few
people
who
approached
us
after
this
program
went
to
make
similar
I'm,
not
going
to
say
the
same
yeah
claim
but
were
denied.
For
the
same
reason.
Z
There
was
not
continuous
employment
that
there
was
a
break
in
service,
and
so
yes,
there
are
a
few
others
that
have
been
told
no
with
similar
facts,
not
the
same
facts
and.
P
I
don't
want
to
you
know.
I
know,
there's
been
some
other
executive
sessions
that
we've
had
regarding
longevity,
so
I
don't
want
to
speak
too
much
out
of
out
of
that,
but
we've
gone
in
and
talked
about
it
and
then
we've
gone
back
in
and
changed
language,
or
is
that
something
I'm
thinking
of
something
completely
different?.
A
P
P
I
guess
my
comment
to
that,
then,
is
you
know
if
we've,
if
we've
changed
it
to
where
it's
appropriate
to
you
know
to
to
people
getting
the
appropriate
I?
Guess
you
know,
funds
from
the
longevity,
then
I
think
that
you
know
it's
only
fair
to
be
fair
across
the
board.
Just
like
the
rest
of
the
board
is
saying,
but
I
really
just
wanted
to
make
sure
that
my
mental
timeline
was
correct
before
even
saying
that
really
so.
R
Q
And
with
all
due
respect
to
my
fellow
board,
members,
superintendent
and
our
well
with
your
title,
I'm
trying
to
think.
K
Q
Don't
want
to
say
you're
an
attorney
because
you're
you're
here,
but
but
in
your
position
in
your
position,
you
made
a
decision
and
Dr
Lawler.
Our
chief
administrator
has
made
a
decision
and
based
on
recent
conversations,
then
you
know
I
am
in
support
of
that.
A
Okay,
Miss
Hernandez
and
just
to
clarify
a
question
that
Mr
bethia
asked.
This
is
the
only
longevity
grievance
that
has
come
to
the
board
yeah
and
it's
not
really
about
it
is
about
fairness,
but
in
the
sense
of
consistency
that
we're
being
consistent
with
everyone
in
the
district
and
I
feel
like
that's,
where
we
gain
our
trust
and
when
we've
been
gaining
trust
over
the
last.
Where
are
we
at
23.
A
the
last
four
years
working
really
hard
to
build
that
trust
again,
and
we
do
that
through
being
consistent
with
everyone
and
I
feel
like
our
our
Cartwright
Community
appreciates
that,
and
so,
while
we
can't
give
everyone
everything
that
they
want,
I
I
do
see
where
people
would
either
be
upset
if
we
did
it
for
one
but
not
for
all
or
where
that
wouldn't
be.
What
we
like
our
ideology
as
a
board
in
our
culture
and
climate,
so
I
too
would
support
that
as
well.
A
Do
we
have
any
other
discussion,
or
were
we
ready
to
end
the
executive
session
thumbs
all
right,
so
we
are
going
to
end
our
executive
session.
Let
the
record
reflect
our
executive
session
in
the
public.
It
is
10
43
that
we
are
ending
the
executive
session
portion
and
moving
back
into
our
regular
session.
A
All
right
forget
it:
we
must
have
just
hit
10
43..
Let
the
record
reflect
we're
back
in
our
regular
session.
It
is
still
10
43
pm
and
we
are
going
to
move
on
to.
Thank
you,
everyone
for
the
open
conversation
which
is
our
you
know
what
let
me
get
out
of
the
paper
agenda
and
use
the
real
one.
Z
You're
in
in
one
and
just
procedurally
as
a
reminder,
the
way,
the
action
the
way
the
agenda
is
stated,
it's
you'll
make
a
motion
for
one
of
those
four,
but
not
all.
If
that
makes
sense
what
I'm
saying
yeah.
Z
A
Okay,
so
I
would
like
to
make
a
motion
for
item
one
denial
of
the
grievance
request,
based
on
the
written
documentation
presented
at
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
study
session
with
regular
meeting
and
executive
session
for
Thursday
April
13
2023
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez.
We
have
a
motion
made
by
myself,
Mr
Hernandez
and
a
second
by
governing
board
member
Miss
Lydia
Hernandez,
and
we
will
do
our
roll
call
vote
governing
board
member
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote
hi?
Thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez
mesopathia
governing
board
member.
A
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
savithia
and
vice
president
Garcia.
How
do
you
vote
I
vote?
Thank
you.
Miss
Garcia
Ivory,
as
well
in
the
motion,
carries
unanimously
with
that.
We
are
going
to
move
on
to
our
item
o,
which
is
announcement
of
future
meeting
date
and
other
routine
information
concerning
the
governing
board.
A
The
next
regular
governing
board
meeting
will
be
held
on
Thursday
April
27
2023
at
five
o'clock
P.M
at
the
cartridge,
School
District
boardroom
item
p
is
adjournment
and
I
would
like
to
make
a
motion
for
adjournment
of
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
study
session
with
regular
meeting
with
executive
session
for
Thursday
April
13
2023
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez.
We
do
have
a
motion
made
by
myself,
Marissa
Hernandez
and
a
second
by
governing
board
member
Miss
Lydia
Hernandez.
A
A
Vice
president
Garcia,
how
do
you
vote
aye?
Thank
you.
Miss
Garcia
I
bought
as
well
on
the
motion,
courage
unanimously,
yay,
let
the
record
reflect
that
it
is
10,
46
p.m,
and
this
meeting
is
adjourned.
