Description
Cartwright Governing Board Meeting 05/11/23
A
Good
evening,
everyone
and
welcome
to
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
meeting
for
Thursday
May
11
2023.
Let
the
record
reflect
it
is
5
15
p.m,
and
this
meeting
is
in
order
first
and
foremost,
I'd
like
to
apologize
for
the
wait,
but
it
was
very
nice
to
be
able
to
see
all
of
the
kiddos
playing
before
the
meeting
got
started.
So
that
was
awesome.
A
Our
first
item
this
evening
is
going
to
be
our
call
to
order
in
roll
call.
Let
the
record
reflect
that
we
do
have
governing
board
member
Miss
Lydia
Hernandez
present
in
the
boardroom.
We
also
have
vice
president
Denise
Garcia
in
the
boardroom
and
myself
Marissa
Hernandez
present
item
two
is
our
Pledge
of
Allegiance.
This
evening
we
will
be
led
in
the
Pledge
of
Allegiance
by
The
Glenn
L
down
social
sciences,
Academy
Scholars,
and
when
the
video
starts,
if
everyone
could
please
rise
and
join
us
in
the
Pledge
of
Allegiance
I
guess
we
could
rise.
B
B
A
They
made
that
video
in
Washington
DC
during
their
trip,
and
we
are
very
proud.
Thank
you
item
three
is
Our
Land
acknowledgment,
the
Cartwright
School
District
is
located
on
the
ancestral
homelands
of
the
hohukum
akamal
Autumn
and
Autumn
Druid
people,
ancestors
of
the
Salt
River
Pima,
Maricopa,
Indian,
Community
or
srp-mic.
We
acknowledge
the
rich
oral
history
culture
of
these
communities
and
their
ancestral
ties
to
the
land.
Thank
you.
A
Moving
on
to
item
four
I'd
like
to
make
a
motion
for
approval
of
tonight's
agenda,
as
presented
at
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
meeting
of
Thursday
May
11
2023.
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez.
We
do
have
a
motion
made
by
myself,
Marissa
Hernandez
and
a
second
by
governing
board
member
Miss
Lydia
Hernandez
any
discussion,
wonderful,
Miss,
Lydia
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez!
A
C
Good
evening
Madam
president
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
governing
board
members
and
those
in
the
audience
and
on
YouTube
I'm
honored
to
present
the
Award
of
Excellence
to
a
group
of
students
from
C.W
Harris.
These
are
kids
with
a
good
heart.
The
baseball
team
play
another
school.
They
noticed
that
they
didn't
have
the
team
jerseys.
They
were
really
hard
to
raise
money
and
buy
the
those
special
shorts
but
I'm
gonna.
Let
the
video
speak
for
your
for
itself.
So
please
direct
your
attention
to
to
the
screens.
D
We
had
early
in
the
season,
we
had
a
game,
we
saw
that
they
didn't
have
some
uniforms.
We
some
of
the
guys,
were
asking
how
come
they
didn't.
Have
them
we're
blessed
here
at
Harris
to
have
nice
things
and
they
kind
of
we
kind
of
felt
like
they
needed
to
have
some
uniforms,
and
so
we
had
an
idea.
We
we
did
it
and
the
guys
came
up
and
we're
going
to
present
some
uniforms
to
them
today.
My.
E
B
It
means
a
lot
to
give
back
to
them:
it's
always
nice,
giving
back
to
the
community
it's
it's
where
we
can
have
fun
and
give
back
and
do
a
lot
with
my
team
back
here.
It's
just
nice,
giving
back
to
people
you.
D
Know
we
try
to
run
a
program,
that's
life
beyond
the
the
foul
line
you
know
and
and
trying
to
teach
him
a
little
bit
about
life
and
and
how
how
this
game,
how
you
can
grow
this
game
and
be
a
part
of
it
and
still
be
a
good
citizen
and
do
those
things
that
be
good
people,
and
so
it's
not
just
about
catching
and
throwing
and
hitting
it's
it's
about
giving
them
something
extra
beyond
beyond
baseball.
D
C
So
now
I'm
going
to
present
the
awards.
I
just
want
to
mention
briefly
that
their
principal
Alicia
Gilbert
who's
here
with
us
she's
the
one
who
nominated
the
team.
So
the
award
is
going
to
go
as
I
mentioned.
Your
name.
I
would
like
you
to
please
come
forward
and
to
to
receive
your
award
and
then
stay
here.
C
Thank
you,
we're
gonna
make
sure
he
gets
it.
Giovanni
Casas.
C
And
we
also
have
our
coach
officer,
Brian
Miller
and
Coach
Tim
Gilbert.
C
We
have
another
celebration
video
this
week:
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler,
along
with
John
F
long
principal
Leticia,
Castro
and
other
staff
members
were
able
to
attend
the
Chicanos
Por
La
causa
Esperanza
Worth
to
honor
one
of
our
teachers,
Miss
Perla
podaka
and
here's.
The
video.
F
I
was
born
in
Guadalajara,
Jalisco
Mexico
and
then
I
moved
to
Arizona
when
I
was
11..
I
actually
am
a
Cartwright
student
Borman
for
my
middle
school
and
then
I
graduated
from
Maryville
High
School
I
was
very
lucky.
I
was
an
ell
student,
so
I
didn't
know
English
walking
into
school,
but
I
had
great
teachers
thanks
to
them.
I
felt
very
confident,
very
young,
even
though
I
was
very
shy,
but
I
wanted
to
learn.
English
and
I
wanted
to
be
just
like
everybody
else,
and
so
by
second
grade
I
was
fluent
Reading
Writing.
F
The
whole
thing
I
became
mature
very
early
because
my
mom
was
not
fluent
in
English,
so
I
had
to
be
her
translator
for
school
for
life
for
the
phone
company
for
anywhere.
We
went
around
that
really
matured
me
at
a
very
young
age
and
then
I
didn't
realize.
I
wasn't
born
here.
I
thought
I
was
born
in
the
United
States
I
thought
I
was
born
in
Los
Angeles.
That
really
changed
for
me,
because
I
had
had
this
identity
of
U.S
born
I'm,
not
different
from
anybody,
and
then
there
was
a
big
shift
for
identity.
F
For
me
and
I
didn't
know
where
I
belonged.
It
definitely
shaped
how
I
faced
the
world
for
a
few
years
and
trying
to
fight
figure
out
who
I
was
I
was
actually
a
business
major
right
out
of
college
and
then
9
11
happened,
and
it
was
somewhat
of
a
turning
point
for
me
because
I
looked
at
my
life
and
I
said
really
what
am
I
accomplishing
here
by
then
I
had
been
volunteering
teaching,
adults,
English
and
I
just
really
became
inspired
when
I
had
a
tutor.
G
We
decided
to
nominate
Miss
Apodaca
for
this
recognition
because
she
exemplifies
what
a
great
educator
is.
She
is
a
role
model
for
Latinos,
but
for
all
children.
She
is
that
teacher
that
you
want
every
scholar
to
have
she's
that
teacher
that
you
want
on
your
team
she's
just
that
amazing
educator
and
we're
lucky
that
she's
here
at
John,
F
long
I.
H
Don't
think
I'm
where
I
am
today
without
her
help
and
guidance.
She
was
at
my
high
school
graduation
I
also
invited
her
to
my
college.
Graduation
and
she's
been
a
part
of
it
through
it
all.
Even
through
these
days,
you
know
when
I
I
was
considering
changing
career
a
little
bit,
not
necessarily
in
different
Industries,
but
a
different
position
with
a
different
company.
She
was
still
a
part
of
I
reached
out
immediately.
H
F
F
C
B
C
F
F
C
Yeah,
if
you
can
please
come
back
we're
going
to
take
we're.
Gonna,
have
the
board
and
our
superintendent
take
a
picture
with
you.
It's
only.
A
All
right
moving
on
to
item
D,
which
is
our
call
to
the
public,
we're
going
to
swing
right
past
that
one
we
don't
wait.
Sorry,
we
don't
have
any
right.
Okay,
thank
you
item
e
is
our
consent
agenda
should
I
read
that
this
time
consideration
oh
wait:
I
was
blinded
by
babies.
I'm
sorry
hold
on
our
adopted
rules
of
parliamentary
procedure,
provide
for
a
consent
agenda
listing
several
items
for
approval
of
the
board
by
a
single
motion.
Items
listed
under
the
consent
agenda
have
gone
through
a
review
and
recommendation
process.
A
Documentation
concerning
these
items
has
been
provided
to
all
board
members
and
the
public
in
advance
to
assure
an
extensive
and
thorough
review
items
may
be
removed
from
the
consent
agenda
at
the
request
of
any
board.
Member
with
that
I'd
like
to
make
a
motion
for
approval
of
tonight's
consent
agenda,
as
presented
at
the
Thursday
May
11
2023
cartridge,
Elementary
School
District
regular
governing
board
meeting
do
I
have
a
second.
A
Thank
you
all
right
motion
made
by
myself,
Marissa
Hernandez
second,
by
governing
board
member
Miss
Lydia
Hernandez
any
discussion,
perfect
Miss,
Lydia
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you.
Miss
Hernandez
she
votes
I.
Vice
president
Garcia.
How
do
you
vote
I
vote?
Thank
you.
Miss
Garcia
I
would
as
well
in
the
motion,
carries
unanimously
yay.
We
have
an
approved
consent
agenda
and
the
floor
is
yours.
Dr
Aguilar,
Lawler,.
I
Thank
you
governing
board
president
members
of
the
governing
board
executive
leadership,
team
principals,
honored
guests
and
those
in
the
audience
and
watching
on
YouTube,
so
I'm
not
going
to
make
it
that
easy
for
these
people.
I
want
you
to
come
to
the
front
so
I'd
like
for
you
to
come
over
and
stand
and
we're
going
to
get
a
picture
with
the
two
of
you.
So
we
can
post
it.
I'd
like
to
First
congratulate
Mike
Clark,
who
is
moving
from
Desert
Sands
to
be
the
principal
of
Frank
Davidson
School.
I
A
I
Thank
you
governing
board
president
members
of
the
governing
board
executive
team
principals,
honor
guests
and
those
that
are
watching
on
YouTube
every
year,
the
Arizona
School
Board
Association
submits
priorities
for
our
team
to
recommend
to
our
governing
board
this
year.
The
top
five
priorities
for
selected
for
this
year's
2023
political
agenda
are
as
follows.
I
We
would
like
for
the
governing
board
to
have
the
priorities
in
this
order.
We,
like
the
to
the
legislature
to
revise
the
school
Finance
formula
to
provide
a
stable,
dedicated,
Revenue,
Source,
less
reliant
on
the
general
fund
or
the
annual
legislative
appropriation.
I
Also
that
part
of
number
one
the
second
bullet
would
be.
We
would
like
to
provide
dedicated
School
Capital
funding
consistent
with
the
Constitutional
requirement
of
a
general
and
uniformed
public
school
system,
and
also
under
that
revised
funding
formula.
We
want
to
ensure
the
formula
addresses
the
unique
financial
needs
of
the
schools
serving
students
in
poverty
and
in
Rural
and
remote
remote
schools.
I
I
We'd
also
like
you
to
continue
the
reforming
English
language
learner
models
of
instruction
to
increase
integration
of
English
language
Learners
and
give
schools,
flexibility
and
resources
to
administrate
to
administrate
them
and
we'd
like
to
advocate
for
the
repeal
of
proposition
203
and
replace
it
with
research-based
bilingual
education
and
five.
We
would
like
to
provide
funding
to
individual
districts
to
implement
locally
directed
school
safety
programs,
as
well
as
student,
mental
health
and
well-being
initiatives.
K
Thank
you,
madam
president.
Dr
Lawler
executive
team,
those
in
the
audience
and
those
watching
it
was.
It
went
quick.
K
However,
I
will
share
that
the
governor
had
her
budget.
K
You
know
more
than
ready,
I,
think
there's
we
continue
working
on
what
we
need
to
and
and
nobody
wanted
to
to
stand
up
and
and
really
challenge
because
a
new
governor
and
a
relationship
but
I
think
it's
something
that
needs
to
be
worked
on,
and
so
we're
working
on
that.
A
That
I'd
like
to
make
a
motion
for
approval
to
submit
the
Arizona
School
Board
Association,
on
behalf
of
the
governing
board,
the
presented
top
five,
the
presented
top
five
priorities
and
two
additional
priorities
selected
from
the
2023
political
agenda
for
the
legislative
committee,
consideration
of
the
2024
political
agenda
at
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
meeting
from
Thursday
May
11
2023.
do
I
have
a
second
second.
Thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez.
We
have
a
motion
made
by
myself,
Marissa
Hernandez
and
a
second
by
governing
board
member
Miss
Lydia
Hernandez.
A
A
A
A
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you
Miss
Hernandez,
so
we
do
have
a
motion
made
by
myself,
Marissa
Hernandez
and
a
second
by
Board
member
Miss
Lydia
Hernandez
Miss
Lydia
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Ms
Hernandez.
Vice
president
Garcia.
How
do
you
vote
I
vote?
Thank
you.
Miss
Garcia
I
would
as
well,
and
the
motion
carries
unanimously
yay.
A
N
Thank
you,
madam
president,
members
of
the
board
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler.
Thank
you.
I'll,
be
very
brief.
With
this,
the
you
have
attached
a
recommendation
of
phased
retirees
that
are
certified
personnel
just
real
quickly.
Phased
retirees
is
a
term
used
for
those
who
are
returned
to
work
individuals
who
are
already
participating
in
a
asrs
pension
where
they
were
eligible
for
active
retirement,
but
have
chosen
to
continue
working
and
with
teacher
shortages
and
so
forth.
Those
those
on
this
certified
list.
N
I
do
I
put
this
on
the
action
item,
just
to
speak
with
you
briefly
to
let
you
know
and
kind
of
put
the
employees
in
this
category
on
notice
that
we
will
be
recommending
some
probably
some
fairly
significant
changes
on
how
we
handle
these
employees
in
future
years.
We
we
don't,
have
good
written
guidelines
right
now,
either
in
board
policy
or
board
regulation
related
to
how
we
place
these
individuals
on
salary
schedules,
how
we
treat
them
for
performance
reviews,
lots
of
things
by
state
law.
We
are
not
allowed
to
give
these
individuals
or
the.
B
N
Protections
as
a
certified
teacher
who's
it
not
in
active
retirement,
just
a
normal
teacher,
so
we
just
need
to
tidy
that
up
a
bit.
So
I
wanted
to
give
you
a
heads
up
that
we're
approving
these
under
similar
terms
and
conditions
of
what
we've
done
in
years
past
out
of
fairness
that
we,
you
know,
we
didn't
give
proper
notice
of
some
changes
to
Comba.
We
will
be
forthcoming
with
some
changes
within
probably
the
next
couple
of
board
meetings
as
to
how
we'll
handle
these
in
future
years.
A
Thank
you,
Mr
stratman,
any
questions
from
the
board
perfect.
Thank
you
all
right
with
that,
I'd
like
to
make
a
motion
for
approval
of
the
hiring
of
the
listed
phased
retirement,
certified
employees
and
the
positions
listed
and
under
the
terms
of
employment,
for
face
retirees
at
the
Carter
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
meeting
of
Thursday
May
11
2023.
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez.
We
have
a
motion
made
by
myself,
Marissa
Hernandez
in
a
second
by
governing
board
member
Miss
Lydia
Hernandez
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez.
A
I
So
we've
had
quite
the
last
couple
of
years
with
our
bond
projects,
and
so
we
did
do
this
presentation
with
our
parent
advisory
Council,
who
have
just
celebrated
over
and
over
again
how
happy
they
are
about
all
these
changes
in
our
community.
So
we
asked
Dr
Medrano
to
come
forward
and
share
just
a
little
bit
of
where
we
are
right
now
and
where
we're
going.
O
Of
the
board,
Dr
Aguilar,
Lawler,
executive
team
members
and
everyone
in
attendance
and
watching
via
YouTube
I'm
pleased
to
be
able
to
present
our
progress
on
our
bond
projects.
Up
to
this
point
and
just
give
you
a
status
update
and
just
preface
that
again
with
thanks
to
our
community
for
approving
our
bond,
that's
allowing
us
to
do
so.
Many
great
things
to
really
fortify
our
campuses
and
and
upgrade
all
of
our
safety
infrastructure.
O
This
is
just
where
we
stand
right
now
in
regards
to
our
perimeter,
fencing
upgrades,
sros
and
security
monitors,
what
we're
doing
to
make
sure
that
we
have
a
security
presence
on
our
campuses,
our
Gaggle
technology
solution
and
how
that
is
going
for
us
and
what
we're
looking
at
in
terms
of
expansion
right
now
and
then
our
special
systems
that
all
of
our
campuses,
so
our
fire
alarm
systems,
Intercom,
Security,
Cameras,
everything
that
we're
doing
to
make
sure
that
we're
upgrading
those
to
have
the
best
mass
communication
system
in
case
of
emergencies.
O
So
the
first
couple
of
slides,
you'll
just
see
some
photos
we're
going
to
be
starting
with
the
projects
that
are
already
completed
to
date.
We
have
six
of
our
schools
that
have
the
perimeter
fencing
projects
already
entirely
completed.
So
the
first
of
those
two
that
are
shown
on
this
slide
here
are
for
Flor
Del
Sol,
our
employee
daycare
center
and
also
Peralta,
just
kind
of
as
a
reminder.
We
had
started
with
those
schools
that
had
the
most
obvious
vulnerabilities
in
terms
of
fencing
design
safety
vulnerabilities.
O
So
our
b,
o
and
risk
management
team
got
together.
They
toured
all
of
our
schools,
walked
the
walk,
the
fence
lines
and
kind
of
gave
us
a
prioritized
list
of
where
we
wanted
to
start
so
with
Flor,
Del,
Sol
and
I
forget
what
the
oh
there
we
go
in
Peralta.
You
guys
can
recall
if
you've,
driven
by
those
campuses
Peralta
in
particular
along
Encanto.
O
We
had
a
four
foot
chain:
link
fence
in
front
of
our
first
grade
classrooms
and
around
the
front
office
area,
and
so
what
we
did
there
was
raise-
and
this
was
kind
of
a
common
Trend
that
we're
doing
at
all
of
our
schools
on
the
front-facing
areas.
We're
installing
wrought
iron,
fencing
with
the
picketed
tops
at
least
six
feet
tall,
makes
it
aesthetically
pleasing,
but
also
very
difficult
for
any
outside
person
to
be
able
to
breach
that.
O
So
you
see
the
picture
there
and
then
on
areas
that
are
surrounding
our
playgrounds,
so
not
not
necessarily
on
the
front-facing
areas.
We're
using
chain
link
fencing
at
with
a
privacy
screen
that
the
principals
are
choosing
the
color
to
put
on
that
so
Flor
Del
Sol
has
kind
of
the
the
grayish
color
and
Peralta
has
the
desert
sand
color.
O
And
this
next,
the
next
slide
shows
Starlight
Park
and
Palm
Lane
again
they
shared
similar,
similar
vulnerabilities
as
Peralta
and
from
near
the
front
offices.
The
shorter
fences,
so
we've
resolved
that
issue
by
raising
those
up
with
wrought
iron,
picket
and
picketed
top
fences
and
then
around
the
back
areas.
Again,
the
the
chain
link
fences
with
the
with
the
privacy
screening
and
then
just
to
point
a
little
something
out
with
Palm
Lane.
You
can
see
by
the
basketball
courts.
O
We
kept
the
higher
fence
lines
just
so
that
you
know
none
of
the
basketballs
or
soccer
balls
or
anything
like
that
can
be
kicked
out
under
the
street
and
our
kids
getting
tempted
to
hop
the
fence
and
go
get
them
just
want
to
make
sure
that
everybody's,
taking
all
those
safety
factors
into
consideration.
So
I
want
to
thank
our
principals
also
for
for
those
input
on
those
little
nuances
to
make
sure
we
covered
all
safety
aspects.
O
Okay,
the
next
slide
shows
are
our
next
two
campuses
that
are
entirely
completed,
so
John
F,
long
and
spatalny,
and
then
long
as
you
know,
we'd
had
a
challenge
along
that
back
fence
line
the
eastern
fence
line
and
the
southern
fence
line
and
joining
the
apartments.
Where
we'd
had
a
lot
of.
We
have
had
a
lot
of
issues
with
people
on
the
weekends
cutting
into
the
chain
leak
and
getting
into
the
property
to
play,
and-
and
so
we
did
do
a
little
bit
more
wrought
iron
on
the
John
F
long
campus.
O
Just
to
try
and
guard
against
that,
the
cutting
into
the
fences
and
the
vandalism
more
frequent
vandalism
that
we're
experiencing
there.
O
Our
next
round
of
projects
that
again,
thank
you
guys
for
approving
this
at
our
last
governing
board
meeting
our
next
fencing
projects
that
we're
going
to
start
work
on
over
this
summer
are
going
to
be
the
ones
listed
there
at
the
bottom,
so
Borman
Cartwright,
Davidson,
Estrella,
Heather,
Bray,
tarber
and
tomahawk.
O
Right
now,
we
are
in
the
process
of
working
with
the
vendor
to
give
us
some
revised
designs,
because
we
are
trying
to
incorporate
a
little
bit
more
of
some
aesthetically
nice
chain
link
fence
black
chain
link
fence
with
the
privacy
screen
and
a
mix
of
the
wrought
iron.
So
we
have
asked
the
vendor
to
give
us
a
couple
of
options
for
our
team
to
consider
and
kind
of
pick.
O
One
pick,
the
ones
that
we
think
are
the
best
that
that
provide
the
best
combination
of
a
nice
looking
fencing
project,
but
also
with
the
the
safety
features
that
we're
after
and
then
our
current
project
that
is
underway
right
now
is
taking
place
over
at
Desert
Sands.
O
And
then
there's
a
photo
there
meant
to
put
in
the
last
slide,
but
that's
just
a
little
photo
of
the
work.
That's
beginning
over
at
Desert
Sands,
the
campuses
where
we've
completed
our
walks
with
with
principles
are
the
ones
listed
there.
Actually,
we
also
completed
so
Holiday
Park,
Sunset,
cecc
and
Harris,
and
we
also
completed
our
walks
over
at
Downs,
Castro
and
Pena.
O
Okay,
sros
and
security
monitors
as
Dr
Lawler
had
shared
at
our
last
governing
board
meeting.
We
did
get
the
good
news
that
for
2023-24
there
is
a
commitment
to
providing
school
resource
officers
for
all
schools,
but
the
caveat
and
challenge
being
the
number
of
sros
that
are
available
to
actually
provide
coverage
for
that.
So
with
that
in
mind,
we
still
are
actively
recruiting
for
security
monitors
at
our
campuses
that
are
still
in
need
of
coverage.
O
And
then
our
Gaggle
technology,
Solution,
that's
something
that
is,
has
been
a
really
good
tool
for
us.
We
received
quite
a
bit
of
alerts.
Our
principals
received
quite
a
bit
of
alerts
and
they've
really
been
doing
an
outstanding
job
of
being
responsive
and
making
sure
that
they're
intervening
with
with
our
children
that
are
kind
of
calling
out
for
help
from
some
of
the
content
that
they're
creating
on
their
Google
Documents
or
in
their
emails.
So
they've
there's
been
very
good.
Responsiveness
to
that.
O
We
have,
in
the
within
the
past
couple
of
days
asked
Gaggle
to
expand
the
umbrella
of
what
they're
flagging
of
what
they're
monitoring
to
include
internet
searches
so
go
Guardian.
Does
that
for
us
right
now,
but
it
just
blocks
content
from
coming
through.
Gaggle
does
something
similar,
but
they
all
in
addition
to
blocking
the
content
they
will
also
if
they
find
something
that's
of
concern.
If
a
student
is
searching,
something,
that's
not
appropriate
that
could
suggest
self-harm
harm
to
others
or
threats
to
the
school.
O
They
will
notify
the
points
of
contact
for
the
school
if
they
can't
reach
them.
They'll
notify
District
points
of
contact,
so
Mr
Pina,
Dr,
Perez,
myself
or
Mr
Stevenson,
and
we
are
continuing
to
use
extra
funding
for
that
and
we'll
have
an
expanded
umbrella
of
alerts
now
with
adding
the
monitoring
of
those
internet
searches,
okay,
so
our
special
systems
with
our
bond
funds,
that's
another
area
that
we're
targeting
is
upgrading
all
of
our
our
fire
alarm,
intercom
systems
and
also
our
our
security
camera
systems.
So
right
now
the
status
with
our
fire
alarm
systems.
O
There
are
three
campuses
that
need
a
that
that
are
due
for
a
replacement.
So
we
have.
We
have
an
order
in
place
for
the
system
over
at
Borman,
Desert,
Sands
and
spotani.
So
right
now
we're
expecting
parts
to
come
through
we're
just
keeping
an
eye
on
that,
so
that
we
can
start
getting
that
work
scheduled
as
soon
as
possible.
Each
of
these
systems,
here
they
they're
they're
functional
they've,
been
passing
the
annual
fire
inspections.
O
O
Well,
I
apologize.
This
one
is
a
security
camera
systems
for
our
intercom
systems.
At
our
last
board
meeting
on
April
27th,
there
was
approval
for
all
of
our
schools.
I
think
it
was,
with
the
exception
of
three
that
I've
had
a
recent
intercom
system
upgrade
in
the
last
three
years
and
I
don't
have
those
those
schools
up
right
off
the
top
of
my
head.
The
slide
somehow
didn't
get
onto
this
one
here,
but
so
all
of
our
schools
have.
O
We
do
have
orders
in
for
the
intercom
system
upgrades
so
that
we
have
no
laps
at
all
and
being
being
able
to
communicate
when
we
need
in
an
emergency
situation,
our
security
camera
systems,
one
of
the
foundational
things
that
we
need
to
do
is
upgrade
the
servers
for
the
systems
in
order
to
be
able
to
support
the
installation
of
new
cameras
or
an
expansion
of
cameras
on
on
site
to
have
adequate
coverage.
O
We
need
to
make
sure
that
the
server
that
we
have
is
current,
so
we
do
have
an
order
in
place
for
Server
upgrades
for
all
of
our
schools,
as
are
listed
here
and
again
we're
just
in
contact
with
the
vendor
to
see
when
all
parts
are
available
and
can
be
delivered
to
us.
So
we
can
get
that
these
projects
scheduled.
O
So
we
do
have.
We
will
be
placing
orders
for
the
schools
that
you
see.
There
are
Holiday
Park,
Harris
downs
and
the
Atkinson
gifted
Academy,
and
we
have
been
working
with
Patricia
Lopez
and
our
special
services
department
to
put
together
a
a
list
of
all
furniture
components
that
would
be
most
appropriate
to
meet
the
needs
of
our
children
in
our
of
our
Scholars
and
our
special
programs
so
for
reach
lfi
peer.
O
So
we've
been
getting
a
lot
of
great
input
from
our
teachers
on
that
and
we'll
be
meeting
with
the
vendor
tomorrow,
as
a
matter
of
fact,
so
that
we
can
get
that
order,
finalized
and
line
everything
up
to
get
our
furniture
in
place
quickly
and
then
our
resource
classrooms,
originally
in
the
first
round
of
furniture
deliveries
that
we
did
in
year,
one
of
our
bond
project,
our
resource
classrooms.
At
that
time,
weren't
hadn't
been
covered.
So
we
have
circled
back
in
in
recent
schools.
O
O
We
know
that
that's
always
a
challenge
so
right
now
we
are
actively
seeking
we're
actively
seeking
proposals
to
start
work
at
Castro
and
Pena
to
extend
the
the
the
drop
off
and
and
pick
up
to
extend
the
drop-off
and
pick
up
area
in
front
of
the
schools,
so
we're
working
with
the
architect
right
now
to
get
some
designs
so
that
we
can
start
getting
that
project
scheduled
and
and
get
it
going
this
summer.
O
We
will
also
be
doing
the
same,
we're
starting
to
initiate
requests
for
those
designs
for
Davidson,
Starlight,
Park
long
and
Pena
again,
so
we
can
help
bring
more
cars
off
of
the
street
and
help
with
the
help.
With
that
traffic
flow
of
a
more
efficient
pickup
and
drop
drop
off
system
on
the
campuses,
foreign.
O
View
of
what
we
have
going
on
going
into
this
summer,
lots
of
exciting
projects
really
good
work,
so
we're
really
looking
forward
to
seeing
all
of
this
come
to
fruition
and
continuing
to
to
move
this
forward,
and
so
with
that
I'll
open
it
up
for
any
questions
that
you
might
have.
A
Thank
you,
Dr
Medrano,
any
questions.
I
just
have
one
Dr
Medrano
well
I'll
comment.
First,
if
anyone's
seen
the
fencing,
I'm
sure
everyone
has
it's
amazing
the
privacy
screening,
it
was
really
nice
that
sorry,
fellow
governing
board
members
Dr
Aguilar
Leanne,
aguiler,
executive
team,
everyone
in
the
audience
and
everyone
watching
us
on
YouTube
I-
was
real
bad
about
that.
I
apologize
on
one
of
the
slides
for
the
John
F
long
Elementary
School,
the
wrought
iron.
Does
it
have
a
privacy
screening,
or
does
it
just
look
like
that.
O
Thank
you
for
the
question
president
Hernandez.
It
does
the
it
the
wrought
iron
does
have
privacy
screening
along
the
eastern
fence
line
and
the
southern
fence
line
because
another
one
of
the
concerns
there
was
just
the
people
from
the
outside
peering
in
to
where
the
kids
are
playing.
So
so,
for
that
wrought
iron
segment,
we
did
do
a
privacy
screen
for
our
future
designs,
we're
trying
to
to
Reserve
that
only
for
our
chain
link
fences
just
so
that
we
can
get
the
full
benefit
of
the
Aesthetics
of
the
wrought
iron.
A
That
I
was
just
curious
if
it
was
my
eyes
or
if
we
had
it
and
I
understand
the
reasoning
for
it.
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
to
all
of
the
principals
for
picking
their
own
colors,
because
I
noticed
when
I
went
to
Palm
Lane
that
they
had
Mr
Knight.
Let
me
know
if
I'm
wrong,
they
had
gray
and
at
some
of
the
other
schools
they
have
the
tan
color
and
it
was
nice
to
see
that
one
of
the
schools
had
blue
Starlight
Park.
They
had
blue,
which
was
really
cool.
A
So
it's
nice
that
the
principals
were
allowed
the
opportunity
to
pick
their
own
colors,
that's
nice,
because
then
you
have
like
a
you
know
their
own,
like
School
personality
type
with
the
privacy
screening
and
it's
a
great
use
of
the
chain
link
fencing
without
having
to
get
rid
of
all
of
it
to
replace
it
with
the
the
wrought
iron.
So
it
actually
looks
really
really
nice
I'm
really
proud.
When
I
drive
through
the
neighborhoods
and
I
see
it
it's.
Is
it
also
on
the
NX
or
am
I
wrong
about
that?
O
Madam
president
members
of
the
board
I'm
sorry
I
should
have
been
better
about
that
as
well.
Dr
Aguilar,
Lawler,
executive
team
members,
all
those
in
attendance
and
watching
via
YouTube
that
Annex
right
now,
because
it
already
does
have
wrought
iron
fencing
around
it.
That's
currently,
not
in
our
in
our
current
plans
for
for
perimeter,
fencing
we've
been
prioritizing
the
schools
at
this
time,
but
they
will
benefit
from
what
we're
doing
over
at
sunset.
A
Awesome,
thank
you.
I
just
I
mean
I
live
right.
There
I
should
know
whether
or
not
it
had
it.
Sorry.
Overall,
it
looks
great.
It's
always
nice
to
see
the
changes
in
the
upgrades
in
the
district,
and
especially
when
we
have
more
of
a
collaborative
effect
and
people
can
pick
their
colors
and
that
just
makes
it
feel
much
more
like
a
family
did.
Anyone
else
want
to
make
a
comment.
O
I
President
Hernandez
members
of
the
governing
board
executive
leadership,
team
principals,
those
in
the
audience
and
those
watching
on
YouTube.
The
next
presentation
is
entitled
valuing
employee
feedback
and
moving
forward
together.
I
So
I
wanted
to
share
I'm
sorry,
my
presentation
not
posted
up
there.
I
I
apologize
I
wanted
to
start
with
celebrations.
I,
always
like
to
think
about
some
of
the
positive
things
that
have
happened
with
the
collaborations
with
the
association,
and
the
first
thing
is,
is
that
when
I
became
the
superintendent,
one
of
the
things
I
really
wanted
to
do
is
I
really
wanted
to
hear
teachers
on
campuses
and
have
a
way
to
to
meet
with
them.
I
One
thing
that
was
really
positive
about
the
cat
team
is
that
it
gave
them
immediate
attention
to
issues
and
a
direct
line
to
me
and
my
leadership
team.
So
some
of
the
problems
that
we
solved
over
the
course
of
the
last
few
years
and
most
recently
is
they
said
that
if
we
that
it's
been
very
challenging
to
have
parent-teacher
conferences
with
that
early
release
days,
and
so
that
was
something
they
brought
to
problem
solve,
and
so
that
is
one
of
our
celebrations.
The
governing
board
actually
approved
early
release
days
for
our
two
conferences.
I
They
also
asked
for
40-minute
lunches,
and,
although
that
is
very
difficult,
I
know
for
our
principals
and
our
schools
to
plan.
We
ended
up
providing
40-minute
lunches
for
our
amazing
teachers
and
also
they
have
always
been
a
big
part
in
creating
calendars
for
testing
and
for
our
Friday
professional
development
schedule.
And
again,
that's
just
to
name
a
few
of
the
the
the
concerns
they
bring
up
and
then
the
solutions
that
we
work
together
to
solve.
I
Also
over
the
past
I've
had
ESP
forums
and
that's
our
classified
staff.
They
come
together
and
meet
with
me
once
a
week.
Excuse
me
once
a
month
and
they
they
set
the
agenda
and
we
worked
together
to
give
them
information
or
solve
problems.
Some
of
the
things
that
have
happened
through
our
ESP
forums.
Again,
this
is
just
a
small
list.
Is
we
were
able
to
do
upgrades
in
some
of
the
systems
and
departments
for
increased
efficiency
and
work
productivity?
I
They
gave
valuable
feedback
to
enhance
our
capital
projects
such
as
our
field
upgrades
or
our
custodial
staff
was
instrumental
in
a
lot
of
the
projects
that
needed
to
happen,
and
also
they
wanted
to
do
extra
Duty.
They
wanted
to
do
coaching,
and
so
we
brought
that
concern,
and
now
all
of
our
esps
are
able
to
actually
get
paid
to
do
after
school
activities
and
coaching.
So
again,
those
are
just
a
few
examples
of
some
of
the
celebrations.
I
One
thing
I
wanted
to
call
out
is
that
if
it
wasn't
for
our
our
certified
teachers
and
our
support
staff
coming
together
in
the
cat
teams
of
the
past,
was
during
the
pandemic,
virtual
learning
and
all
of
the
things
I
met
with
I.
Don't
know
if
you
know
this,
but
I
met
with
principals
every
day
for
the
first
several
months,
and
then
we
went
to
three
times
a
week
and
then
two
times
a
week,
and
then
it
was
once
a
week
and
we've
continued
meeting
once
a
week.
I
Thankfully,
it's
post
pandemic,
but
I
met
with
the
teachers
for
I
I,
can't
even
tell
you
how
how
many
times
it
was
ongoing.
How
are
we
going
to
get
through
the
pandemic
together?
How?
What
do
we
need
and
they
were
the
front
line,
and
they
were
just
such
a
valuable
team
to
be
able
to
to
go
to
Virtual
learning
at
a
moment's
notice.
I
One
of
the
first
things
that
the
cat
team
asked
me
an
association
asked
me:
when
I
first
became
a
superintendent
was
they
wanted
to
go
on
a
traditional
teacher,
salary
schedule?
These
are
you
know
that
was
a
very
difficult
task,
but
we
made
that
happen
as
well.
They've
also
been
part
of
hardship,
stipends,
which
I
know
we're
going
to
talk
about
again
today
and
the
past.
It
had
been
very
productive
and
respectful
problem
solving
opportunities
between
myself
and
the
association
and
my
team
again.
I
I
C
And
Twitter
explained
that
I'm
going
to
show
you
a
Univision
video.
There
was
actually
media
here
during
that
time,
but
this
video
is
going
to
give
you
a
different
perspective.
So
I'm
gonna
ask
Christians
to
play
the
first
video,
and
this
is
going
to
take
you
back
to
what
happened
on
Thursday
the
evening
of
Thursday
November
17
2022.
P
C
So
basically,
what
you
see
here
is
just
something
unexpected:
there
was
chaos,
disrespect,
fear
contentions
and
they
claimed
you
know
that
you
know
they
wanted
to
finish
a
contract,
they
feel
like
a
company
was
really
taking
over
and
there
were
many
planes.
So
some
kind
of
agreement
between
the
association
and
the
school
district-
and
that's
one
of
you
know,
is
something
that
you're
going
to
see
in
the
next
video
is
repeated
over
and
over.
Q
C
What
they
were
asking
is
for
them
to
be
supervised
by
themselves.
They
also
stated
that
the
fight
was
not
over,
even
though
these
were
issues
that
were
already
addressed
by
Dr,
Lawler
and
and
the
executive
team
in
and
most
of
the
issues,
if
any
there
were
resolved
in
in
a
timely
manner
and-
and
we
were
in
contact
with
a
lot
of
the
with
most
of
the
employees,
but
here's
the
other
video
that
I
was
actually
talking
to
you
about
previously.
C
C
C
C
C
C
So,
as
you
can
see,
the
governing
board
meeting
was
disrupted
on
Thursday
November,
17
2022
and
their
hostile
environment
cause
like
serious
harm
to
our
work
in
relationship
and
also
also
shattered
Trust.
C
It
was
a
misinformation
campaign,
misinformation
campaign
that
continued
for
weeks
in
affecting
the
relationship
and
and
the
trust
that
we
were
building
with
with
the
employees
and
here's
the
last
cleave
that
that
you're
gonna
see
some
of
the
our
employees
and
members
of
the
association
decided
to
take
the
their
rally
outside,
and
there
were
several
claims
in
I
was
able
to
see
some
of
the
videos
where
you
actually
see
some
of
the
employees
on
top
of
the
tables.
On
top
of
the
furniture.
P
C
So
this
is
where
some
of
the
images
and
what
you
were
able
to
see
here
is
pretty
much.
You
know
what
really
affected
this
relationship,
so
this
is
really
basically
what
happened
and
this
you
know
this
images
pretty
much.
Take
you
back
to
that
evening
of
Thursday
November
1722
22..
It
was
a
situation
that
really
got
everybody
by
surprise.
I
I
It
still
really
bothers
me
to
be
quite
honest
with
you,
because,
prior
to
those
meetings
prior
to
that
meeting,
they
had
come
to
governing
board
meetings
before
again
with
signs
and
so
forth,
but
we
were
meeting
with
them.
I
was
meeting
with
them,
I
was
there
at
meetings
and
my
team
was
there
at
meetings
and
we
were
trying
to
work
through
problems,
but
it
obviously
it
didn't
really
matter.
The
governing
board
meeting
was
disrupted
more
than
once,
not
just
in
November.
There
were
claims
about
agreements
not
being
met.
I
Misinformation
shattered
trust,
the
board
meeting
became
unsafe
and
that's
not
okay
and
as
a
superintendent
I
have
to
protect,
not
all
not
just
the
schools,
but
I
also
have
to
protect
the
governing
board
and
how
we
do
business
here
and
so
again.
I
didn't
want
to
have
to
take
you
back
to
it,
but
unfortunately
we're
still
hearing
like
people
that
don't
understand
what
happened
and
the
story
is
I,
just
don't
like
to
collaborate.
I,
don't
want
to
collaborate.
I
don't
want
to
work
with
people
that
is
not
true.
I
I
have
started
working
with.
We
call
it
the
tat
teacher,
Association
team
and
in
fact
we
have
a
meeting
next
Tuesday
I
love
working
with
our
teachers.
I
I
love
working
with
esps
to
solve
problems
I
have
to
hear
the
concerns
in
order
to
be
able
to
work
through
them
and
make
sure
that
everybody's
working
in
a
district
where
they
feel
safe
and
comfortable
so
I
also
wanted
to
share
the
mean,
confer
policy,
because
that's
also
come
up
as
an
issue
that
somehow
the
governing
board
or
myself
or
my
team
or
the
district
are
not
following
the
meet
and
confer
policy.
So
this
is
our
meet
and
confer
policy
policy
h.
G
A
I'll
save
everybody
at
the
time.
I
can
read
it
out
loud
and
the
eye
strain
policy.
H
meet
and
confer
the
governing
board
composed,
as
the
Julie
constituted
representative
of
the
people
and
as
agent
of
the
state
is
legally
responsible
for
the
conduct
of
public
education
in
the
district.
The
board's
authority
to
make
final
decisions,
as
provided
by
law,
may
not
be
delegated
or
abdicated.
I
I
Oriented
focused
how
we
decided
we're
going
to
do
that
is
they'll,
be
nominated
from
each
School
cider
Department.
The
reason
why
it's
professional
is
it's
not
necessarily
just
teachers,
it
could
be
a
psychologist
at
rrsp.
You
know,
as
someone
certified
of
the
campus,
who
wants
to
be
the
leader
on
the
campus
to
come
to
Pat
meetings
with
me
in
this
group.
The
nominations
must
be
a
member
of
an
association.
I
I
Esp
forums
these
address
are
classified,
staff
are
ESP
site
concerns
again
with
solution.
Oriented
Focus,
these
individuals
being
will
be
also
be
nominated
from
their
school
or
Department.
They
will
be
the
same
member
in
the
past.
It's
been
different
members
coming
and
then
we
send
notes,
and
then
we
have
different
members
coming.
We
thought
that
this
year
this
upcoming
year,
we'd
like
to
try
having
the
same
members
to
go
back
to
their
campuses
to
be
able
to
get
information
and
bring
it
back
more
consistency
when
solving
problems.
I
I
Now,
how
are
we
going
to
do
meet
and
confer
in
the
past?
It
was
in
the
boardroom,
with
YouTube
and
microphones
and
that
team
against
that
team.
We
will
not
be
doing
that
next
year,
but
we
will
be
meeting
conferring
with
representation
on
negotiation,
salary
benefits
and
working
conditions.
We
will
have
for
the
employee
representation,
we'll
have
one
Pat
representative.
We
will
have
one
ESP
representative
and
we
will
have
Association
leadership
Representatives.
I
The
district
office
will
have
one
HR
representative,
one
educational
service,
representative,
one
business
service
representative
and
one
principal
representative,
and
we
have
I
mean
I-
didn't
put
this
in
here,
but
I
meet
with
my
principals
monthly
in
person
and
once
a
week
during
our
can
meetings,
and
so
we
will
continue
that
and
they'll
they're
going
to
tell
me
who
they
want
to
I
know
they're
all
really
excited
about
doing
this,
but
they'll
they'll
they're,
going
to
pick
the
representative
for
that
team
next
year.
I
And,
however,
we
do
meaning
for
the
process
is
to
assure
all
parties
agree
to
the
proposed
negotiations,
salary
benefits
and
working
conditions.
What
I'd
like
to
say
is:
it
would
be
one
of
those
situations
where
you
do
your
thumbs
up.
If
everybody
agrees
moving
forward
or
you
have
thumbs
to
the
side,
it's
not
my
favorite
proposal
or
it's
not
my
favorite,
but
I
can
live
with
it
or
thumbs
down.
I
Employee
handbook
and
the
current
reality
regarding
the
play
handbook
I'm,
going
to
see
if
I'm
going
to
pass
this
discussion
over
to
our
attorney
and
our
Deputy
superintendent
Jeff
strotman,
because
he's
really
called
to
attention
that
our
employee
handbook
that
we
would
usually
put
on
consent
and
we
would
approve
it.
We
never
looked
at
policy
and
policies
only
enacted
by
the
governing
board
through
a
first
and
second
read.
So
we
have
a
lot
of
things
in
the
employee
handbook
that
practices
that
are
not
policy.
I
So
we
have
to
fix
that
so
I
was
going
to
have
I,
don't
know
if
you
want
to
add
anything
with
that.
N
Sure,
thank
you.
Madam
president,
members
of
the
board,
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
I've,
been
preaching
since
I,
came
to
the
district
and
found
out
kind
of
what
the
the
process
was
not
not
as
an
opposition
to
the
process,
but
the
end
result,
which
was
each
spring
and
I
look
at
how
that
was
done
last
year
in
the
early
spring
late
winter.
N
What
was
brought
to
the
board
as
changes
through
the
meet
and
confer
process
which,
if
you
will
recall,
literally,
had
handbook
Provisions
with
scratched
hand,
scratched
notes
and
margins,
just
not
a
good
way
to
do
business
and
tidy
up
if
something
is
important
enough
to
go
through
a
meet
and
confer
process.
N
So
I
have
preached
since
I
I
came
on
board
that
much
of
what
is
currently
in
your
handbook
sections,
what
we
call
an
employee
handbook,
some
actually
referred
to
it
as
the
meet
and
confer
book
it
has
sections
in
there
which
are
employee,
Personnel
procedures.
You
know
what
time
they
get
off,
how
sick
leave's
paid,
how
longevity
is
paid
and
those
things
clearly
should
be,
in
my
opinion,
in
the
policy
manual,
either
as
a
formal
board
policy
or
a
regulation
to
policy.
N
So
what
I
see
what
I
see
consistency
of
is
consistent,
bad
practice,
which
is
you'll,
see
language
in
the
handbook.
That
is
contrary
to
policy
and
the
employees.
Put
a
lot
of
some
of
the
employees,
put
a
lot
of
stake
in
the
handbook,
but
by
law
the
policy
trumps
handbook.
You
can
see
it
in
the
first
or
two
sentence
or
two
of
your
age
policy.
You
cannot
absolve
yourself
of
your
duties
as
board
members
and
let
other
processes
Trump
board
policy.
N
N
We
have
a
section
g
in
the
policy
manual
which
really
covers
most
of
what's
in
your
handbook
and
that's
where
it
should
be
so
I,
don't
know
if
Dr
Dr
Lawler,
if
you
want
me
to
address
anything
else
with
that,
the
other
thing
I
would
say
you
have
section.
One
of
your
handbook
is
a
year
to
year
agreement
between
you
and
the
Cartwright
Education
Association,
and
it
is
basically
what
you
saw
presented
tonight,
a
different
procedure.
N
It
lays
out
a
procedure
as
to
what
was
used
in
the
past
what
the
membership
was
on
the
board
team,
what
the
membership
was
on
the
cea
team
and
those
kinds
of
things.
So,
if
you
were
to
proceed
forward
with
the
recommendations
from
Dr
Lawler,
essentially
section
one
would
not
be
renewed
for
next
year,
we
would
be
implementing
a
new
procedure.
A
K
Thank
you,
madam
president.
Fellow
board,
members,
Dr
Lawler
executive
team,
those
in
the
audience
and
those
watching
I
have
a
few
questions
that
I
wrote
down,
I
hope
I'm
able
to
capture.
So
in
the
slide
that
you
showed
regarding
the
members
of
the
association
that
will
be
included
because
there
was
a
representative
in
this
Pat.
K
Now
my
question
is
and
and
I
think
you
mentioned,
that
it
doesn't
need
to
be
a
member
of
the
association,
but
it's
whoever
is
elected
selected
from
that
site
right.
But
now
my
question
is
it:
let's
say
it's
gonna,
be
anybody,
that's
elected
I,
because
I'm
trying
to
think
there's
cea,
you
know
membership
and
they're
also
the
other
Association
aft.
So
could
it
be
so
as
long
as
they
remember
it?
Does
it
just
says?
Member
or
but
you
said
it
doesn't
need
to
be
a
member.
I
I
It
really
is
up
to
the
governing
board
my
my
thoughts
based
on
some
of
the
current
the
past
discussions
of
the
board.
It
wasn't
we
didn't
say
clearly
whether
it
had
to
be
someone
from
the
cea
or
the
AFT,
but
we
did
feel
for
our
certified
staff.
That
being
a
member
of
the
association
was
important
and
you
know
again
the
governing
board
that
gets
to
make
the
final
decisions
based
on
our
recommendations.
So
really
it
is
up
to
the
governing
board.
K
Just
to
follow
up
to
the
same
question,
because
I
think
you
also
include
Association
leadership,
reps
I,
don't
know
if
it's
in
this
slide
or
the
other,
so
is
it
going
to
be?
Is
that
are
we
talking
about
the
same
position,
one
in
the
same
or
additional.
I
So
when
you
look
at
it's
not
this
slide,
it's
the
it's!
The
actual
meet
income
first
slide
we're
looking
at
the
somebody
from
the
representative,
the
pat
one
person
from
ESP
and
then
up
to
two
Association
leadership
Representatives.
So
there
will
be
okay,
yeah
two.
So
it's
four
total
from
the
employee
group,
okay,.
K
I
think
that
for
me,
because
this
has
been
an
issue
and
on
going
for
many
many
years
and
and
often
questioned
I,
really
didn't
think
I
think
it
was
just
political
honestly
that
it
didn't
matter
what
format
you
had
that
at
the
end
of
the
day
we
ended
up
doing
you
know
going
through
the
same.
You
know
same
issue,
and
so
my
thought
back
then
was,
and
we
did
do
a
a
study.
We
looked
around
at
neighboring
school
districts.
K
You
know
similar
demographics
to
see
what
was
working
of
what
other
schools
were
doing
and
found
that
the
Washington
harp
on
Washington.
Only
because
I
remember
the
struck
me
as
interesting
because
it
was
made
up.
There
were
business.
There
were
partners,
business
partners
similar
to
the
membership
made
up
here
and
I
didn't
hear
of
any
major
issues,
I'm
sure
they
had
their
Lively
discussions
as
well,
but
not
like.
K
Here
we
ended
up
regardless
of
what
changes
were
made
because
there
have
been
throughout
the
years,
but
it
the
issue
Remains,
the
Same
and
I.
Don't
know
if
you
guys
remember
but
I
won't
say
reiterate,
but
I
did
that
at
the
end
of
the
day
it
was
this,
so
we've
been
from
one
extreme
to
the
other
and
I
think
we've
we've
provided
you
know
the
the
experience.
K
I
I
appreciate
that
comment,
and
we
talked
about
this,
my
team
and
the
leadership
from
the
associations
we
talked
about
how
this
upcoming
year
is
going
to
be
that
that
work
in
progress,
but
the
bottom
line
is
mutual
respect
and
collaboration
that
we're
going
to
solve
problems
together
in
a
respectful
Manner,
and
that's
really
the
hopes
of
the
new
way
of
of
working
together.
K
K
The
same
mode
of
operation
has
been
in
place,
something
I
will
always
Advocate
it
against,
and
it
was
honestly
frankly
tired.
It
happens
in
a
lot
of
places.
We've
had
members
up
at
the
at
the
state,
capitol
they're,
not
unions,
but
but
individuals
or
members
of
groups
that
you
know
with
some
interest
that
turn
into
this,
but
you're
right.
There
should
be
Zero
Tolerance,
because
we
have
policies
in
place
and
as
much
as
I
I've
always
been
or
consider
myself.
K
K
I
think
this
is
this
is
great
timing,
because
it's
being
discussed
in
other
places
and
you'll
be
hearing
more
of
this,
because
there
is
a
way
and
I
think
and
going
back
to
some
of
the
prior
conversations
that
we've
had
here
as
as
a
board
and
and
then
going
making
that
transition
going
to
the
state
capitol.
K
There's
a
need
for
discussion
need
I
mean
the
the
the
our
constituents
demanded
groups
demanded
leadership
demands
it
I
mean
that's
what
the
role
and
purpose
is
to
have
that
discussion
to
find
resolve,
and
in
the
absence
of
that
people
don't
feel
included
I
for
whatever
you
know
because
of
a
process,
but
I'm
very
well.
It's
very
well
received
something
different
that
I'm
still
kind
of
walking
through
because
I'm
looking
at
it
but
willing
to
see
what
that
looks
like
and
try
something
else.
So
thank
you
so
much
for
that.
A
Mexico,
would
you
like
to
say
something:
please
approach
the
podium.
L
Foreign
good
evening,
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
board
president
Hernandez
governing
board
members
and
our
esteemed
executive
team.
Everyone
here
in
attendance
and
everyone
online
I
just
wanted
to
come
up
here
to
say
that
I
am
my
body
is
feeling
some
kind
of
way
about,
watching
those
videos
and
I
think
just
reliving
it.
While
it
was
difficult,
is
really
important
to
see
what
the
reality
is
here
and
so.
L
I
appreciate
the
courage
that
this
executive
team
and
our
superintendent
has
had
in
our
governing
board
to
go
through
this
experience
again
to
relive
and
remember
what
happened,
but
also
it
takes
courage
to
want
to
heal
that,
and
it
takes
courage
to
want
to
move
on
and
I
think
that
comes
from
a
core
value.
Right
and
I
want
to
just
acknowledge
that.
L
I
see
that
here
and
I'm
such
I'm
very
honored,
to
be
a
part
of
this
team
and
I'm
very
much
looking
forward
to
moving
on
and
I
hope
that
we
can
do
that
together.
So
I'm
speaking
as
a
representative
of
aft
and
all
of
the
employees
that
we
represent,
and
also
as
someone
who
is
extending
an
olive
branch
to
members
of
the
other
Association
who
want
to
move
forward
with
the
respect
and
dignity
for
each
other
in
this
District.
A
Some
of
us
know
that
the
body
keeps
the
score.
Thank
you
vessel,
Van,
Der,
kolk,
sorry
I
had
to
Google
it.
A
K
There
now
we
have
afd
here
in
the
audience
has
cea
wasn't
here
physically,
but
I
was
on.
I
was
a
via
phone
last
meeting.
Were
they
did
they
attend
the
meeting.
I
Thank
you
for
that
president,
or
not
as
board
member
Lydia
Hernandez
members
of
the
board.
My
team
in
the
discussions
for
this
I
have
been
meeting
regularly
with
the
cea
vice
president
and
it's
been
wonderful
to
work
with,
so
they
they
were
part
of
the
discussions.
I
think
they
were
at
the
last
board
meeting.
Yes,
yes,
they
were
both.
The
vice
president
was
at
the
last
board
meeting.
So
yes
and
part
of
the
teacher
Association
team.
K
You
Dr
Lotter
and
fellow
board
members
I
just
wanted
to
share
that
as
busy
as
we've
been
down
at
the
Capitol
that
you
know,
I've
been
I've
been
getting
receiving.
Some
Communications
I
have
fellow
members
that
have
been
receiving
Communications
in
regards
to
my
participation
and
requests
for
my
participation
in
a
deeper
conversation
and
I
just
wanted
to
share
that.
K
We've
had
well
our
fellow
board
members
no
longer
here
he's
now
a
part
of
an
association,
but
he
had
a
great
opportunity
to
be
a
change
agent.
While
he
was
here
and
and
wasn't
able
to
do
that
so
I
just
wanted
to
clarify.
You
know
that
there's
some
rumors
out
there
that
don't
have
any
basis
there's
been
some
requests,
but
I
just
wanted
to
mention
that,
for
the
record.
A
A
Can
you
clarify
the
point
to
presidential
release
time
for
me
please
and
what
we
will
not
be
doing
next
year.
Thank
you.
Oh.
I
You
have
the
same
question.
Thank
you.
I'm
president
Hernandez
members
of
the
governing
board,
my
team
and
audience
so
the
when
I
first
became
the
superintendent
and
then
cea
president
Dylan
wagala.
He
brought
up
a
proposal
that
the
governing
board
adopted
for
that
upcoming
year
pandemic
happened.
We
continued
that
practice
with
the
other
Michelle
Stevens,
the
ca
president,
and
then
this
year
we
continued
the
practice
with
the
current
cea
president
of
appoint
two.
I
However,
our
legal
here
and
my
and
my
team
we
did
not
actually
I
did
not
actually
bring
that
that
has
to
be
brought
year
to
year
for
governing
board
approval.
It
was
more
of
that
gentleman's
agreement
to
do
it.
It
is
not
part
of
the
plan
moving
forward
to
do
that.
However,
again,
that
is
something
that,
if
the
governing
board
wants
me
to
bring
that
forward,
I'm
I
would
be
I
would
talk
to
my
team
about
whether
or
not
that's
something.
B
A
I
A
M
Thank
you,
madam
president.
Dr
agler
Lawler
fellow
board
members
executive
team.
Everyone
in
the
audience,
as
well
as
online
I,
concur
I
believe
that,
since
that
experience
occurred,
I
believe
that
has
shed
a
lot
of
light
on
whether
or
not
we
will
or
that
we
should
consider
proceeding
with
that
practice.
It
is
not
policy
correct.
That's.
R
M
K
Fellow
board
members
executive
team,
those
in
the
audience
and
those
watching,
I
I-
think
it's
a
really
and
what
I'm
walking
away
with
today
is
that
we're
wanting
to
to
try
a
different
mode
of
operation
and,
like
I,
said
I'm
I'm
looking
forward
to
it,
let's
see
what
you
know.
Maybe
we
could.
K
Trailblaze
in
this
area
as
well,
because
we're
always
you
know
this
is
something
like
a
point
of
contention
and
in
conversations
you
know
about
looking
at
different,
we're
always
looking
for
something
that
works
better
right,
so
I'm
looking
forward
to
to
it
and
I
just
wanted
to
say
I'm
in
nobody's
pocket
by
the
way
to
ask
for
the
record
as
well
before
I
forget
I.
Don't
want
to
forget
that.
Thank
you.
A
To
clarify,
none
of
us
are
thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez,
for
putting
that
out
there
yeah.
It
feels
like
we're
all
in
unanimous
agreement,
we're
good
with
it.
There
will
be
no
more
point
to
presidential
release
time
for
the
foreseeable
feature.
However,
we
do
have
the
opportunity
to
bring
that
back.
A
If
ever
we
so
choose
to
the
more
representation,
the
better
whatever
it
is,
that
we
can
do
to
help
everyone
within
the
district
have
healthy
working
environments,
anything
that
we
can
provide
and
the
more
people
that
are
involved
in
that
the
better,
and
it
sounds
like
from
what
we've
been
doing
over
the
last
couple
of
months.
It
has
been
working
and
we're
very
proud
that
we
are
able
to
move
forward
in
a
new
way,
and
I
too
am
excited
to
see
how
it
goes,
but
so
far
it's
been
nothing
but
great
things.
I
I
So
I'd
like
to
start
with
congratulating
foreign
Starlight,
Park
scholar,
Juan
Edie,
going
Castillo,
he
will
be
graduating
from
Trevor
brown.
High
school
Juan
receives
seven
acceptance,
letters
from
Seven
universities,
including
Princeton,
Yale
and
Stanford,
and
was
awarded
2.5
million
dollars
in
scholarships
yeah
I
want.
We
would
like
so
we're
so
proud
of.
He
is
going
to
be
attending
Stanford,
so
we'll
have
to
keep
an
eye
on
him
and
see
how
he's
doing
so
exciting.
I
Also
very
great
news.
10
of
our
Scholars,
were
selected
with
their
project
citizen
portfolios
to
be
showcased
on
May
10th
was
that
just
this
week
the
scholars
come
from
desert
sand,
Castro
Harris
they
represent
the
work
of
about
300,
8th
graders,
so
10
were
chosen
and
I
want
to
say
thank
you
to
all
the
teachers.
The
principal
Andrea
Barrera,
our
Scholars,
had
to
defend
their
policy
proposals
in
a
hearing
type
format
in
front
of
adult
evaluators.
I
I
was
actually
able
to
see
two
different
proposals
in
action
and
listen
to
the
feedback
of
the
judges.
It
was
absolutely
amazing.
So,
congratulations
to
those
Scholars
as
well
I'd
like
to
say
congratulations
to
miss
Gordon
teacher
from
C.W
Harris
School.
She
was
recognized
for
Teacher
of
the
month
from
the
law,
firm,
Birch
and
craft
cholo.
She
was
given
a
check
and
when
asked
about
what
she
was
going
to
do
with
the
money
she
said,
I
want
to
give
it
back
to
my
school.
I
So
principal
Ally
is
going
to
purchase
a
friendship
bench
for
the
playground
and
they're
going
to
name
it
in
Mrs,
Gordon's
honor.
That's
very
sweet!
Congratulations
to
Tarver,
Elementary,
School,
Ms,
Hurley's,
fourth
grade
classroom
and
Dr
Lentz
third
grade
classroom.
They
received
a
visit
from
howler
the
Arizona
Coyotes
mascot
for
their
reading
accomplishments
way
to
go
Scholars
we're
very
proud
of
your
reading
accomplishments.
I
Recently,
the
Cartwright
Young
artist
award
exhibition
took
place
at
the
end
of
April
and
Scholars
from
every
school
have
their
pieces
featured
all
around
the
training
center.
We
have
such
talented
artists,
and
this
is
because
we
have
the
most
amazing
art
teachers
in
the
district,
I
mean
and
actually
I
would
say
from
anywhere
in
the
state
and
Nation
for
that
matter.
Thank
you.
So
much
for
all
you
do
to
really
impose
art
and
and
the
love
of
Art
in
our
Scholars,
the
Diamondback
jam.
I
Oh
my
goodness,
I'm
still
recovering
from
that
all
the
fifth
grade.
Scholars
in
our
district
have
the
opportunity
to
attend.
This
was
an
sponsored
by
supervisor
Gallardo.
I
He
also
wanted
to
make
sure
in
this
this
opportunity
that
every
fifth
grader
had
to
really
speak
to
about
about
community
service.
That
was
the
really
big
thing.
Is
you
know,
community
service
and
how
important
it
is.
I
would
like
to
thank
all
the
teachers
and
all
the
principals
and
assistant
principals
who
attended
the
game.
I
I
also
like
to
thank
Ryan
Anderson
for
coordinating
the
event.
I
mean
that
was
a
lot
of
work,
our
teachers
and
Alex
Mata
and
the
entire
transportation
department
back
and
forth,
hauling,
1500,
fifth
graders
to
the
ballpark
and
back
and
again
thank
you
to
all
our
teachers
and
our
principals
tosas
and
APS
another
celebration
of
Palm
Lane.
It
was
just
amazing,
Disney's,
The,
Jungle
Book,
they
performed
live
at
Palm
Lane,
but
they
also
performed
live
at
the
Gammage
theater
at
ASU.
I
It
was
absolutely
incredible
and
it's
exciting
to
know
that
Disney's
going
to
give
Palm
Lane
another
year
at
another,
theater
production
and
they're,
going
to
pay
for
all
that
very
exciting
glenel
Downs
social
sciences,
Academy
attended
the
Washington
DC
trip
I,
probably
have
a
lot
more
energy
than
those
individuals
that
did
go
on
that
trip.
Thank
you
board,
president
Victor
Hugo
Andrea
and
all
of
the
the
chaperones
I'm
not
sure,
if
Vivian's
here
right
now,
Vivian,
but
what
an
amazing
opportunity
for
for
our
kids
to
go
every
year.
I
Also,
this
week
a
group
of
glenel
downs,
Scholars,
fifth
graders,
toured
the
Arizona
State
Capitol
and
we're
very
excited
to
be
introduced
by
our
state
representative,
Lydia
Hernandez.
She
actually
spoke
to
them
down
on
the
floor.
They
got
to
ask
questions,
and
then
we
all
went
up
to
the
top
to
watch
and
represented
Hernandez
got
to
introduce
all
of
the
kids.
They
got
to
stand
up
and
when
they
said
the
Pledge
of
Allegiance
it
was
they
stole
the
show.
It
was
amazing.
I
The
kids
all
were
proudly
saying
the
Pledge
and
all
the
legislators
turned
in
looked
up
to
see.
You
know
what
was
going
on
it
was.
It
was
awesome.
I
also
want
to
thank
representative
annalize
Ortiz,
who
started
with
them
at
the
beginning
of
the
day,
I
appreciate
her
her
doing
that
as
well.
It's
just
amazing
to
have
such
great
support
of
our
district
and
the
scholars
behaved
so
well.
They
were
incredible,
so
I
just
had
a
question:
did
they
could
they
hear
us
from
up
there,
because.
I
K
I
Yeah
so
yeah
yeah
it
was
very
fun.
Thank
you.
Another
congratulations
for
Glendale
Downs.
Yesterday
Vivian
Nash
was
selected
as
the
principal
of
the
month
from
Grand
Canyon
University.
It
was
an
amazing
event.
Queen
Vivian
was
literally
crowned.
She
was
shocked,
I,
don't
know
you
guys
know
Vivian
she's.
She
doesn't
get
shocked
at
all.
I
She
was
shocked
and
the
entire
gym
was
full
of
the
school
and
it
was
really
fun
seeing
her
Honor
on
behalf
of
all
the
principals
here,
who
are
just
amazing,
also
huge
shout
out
to
our
PR
department
their
account
there
I,
don't
know
how
you
guys
are
doing
it,
but
you're
at
all
the
events
and
you're
videotaping
and
you're
capturing
everything
and
I
think
you
guys
are
holding
your
head
up
because
you're
exhausted.
So
we
really
do
appreciate
you
being
out
there
and
helping
us
share
in
the
celebrations.
I
Again,
congratulations
to
Perla
abudaka,
who
truly
represents
the
Excellence
in
teaching
and
learning,
and
the
love
for
our
Scholars.
What
a
wonderful
honor
for
her
and
finally,
a
huge
shout
out
just
our
teachers
for
teacher
appreciation
week
and
staff
Appreciation
Week
a
governing
board.
They
loved
the
food
trucks
that
went
to
all
the
schools,
they
felt
the
love,
they
ate
a
lot,
and
we
were
so
happy
about
that,
and
also
thank
you
to
the
principals,
because
I've
seen
all
of
the
things
that
you've
done
all
week
to
honor
your
staff
and
our
amazing
teachers.
A
Thank
you,
Dr
aguiler
Lawler
I've
been
trying
to
keep
up
with
all
of
the
teacher
appreciation
and
the
food
trucks
on
social
media,
but
it's
a
lot
I'm
glad
everyone's
been
enjoying
it
because
we
definitely
appreciate
all
of
you
all
right.
So
moving
on
to
item
eight,
which
is
our
other
information
and
discussion
items,
our
item,
one,
is
the
art
display
for
the
month
of
May.
A
This
is
one
of
my
favorite
things
to
do
all
right,
so
our
first
art
display
is
in
the
back
of
the
boardroom
to
your
right,
and
this
is
from
Holiday
Park.
The
art
teacher
is
Claudia

the
title
of
the
project
is
Aztec

and
these
are
sixth

the

A
The
Aztec

is
a

that
was
made
between
Aztec

in
Mexico,
fifth
and
sixth

Scholars
made
an
artwork
inspired
by
the
Aztec
Sunstone.
They
experimented
with
oil,
pastels
and
they
explored
how
to
create
Harmony.
The
double-headed
serpent
representing
movement
they
put
into
practice
the
use
of
cool
colors
and

Mixed

sorry
I,
should
have
read
this
before
the
meeting.
This
exhibit
features
many
different
grade
levels
and
has
a
mix
of
art
from
two
different
schools.
Our
version
of
3D

art
yum.
Some
of
the
artworks
feature
social
political
messages.
The
students
found
important
to
highlight
in
their
art.
This
is
called
activism.
Art
students
started
the
creative
process
to
design
their
own
art
for
social
change
and
or
just
to
change
a
2d
sketch
into
real
life.
3D
art.
A
A
Our
next
display,
which
is
also
outside
of
the
boardroom,
and
the
glass
cases,
is
colorful
dogs
and
printed
horses.
The
art
teacher
is
Marissa

It
is
second
grade.
Third,
second

Third,
through
fifth

the

and

the

their

they're
over
here
in
the

A
My
apologies
they're
to
my

to
your

in
the
boardroom.
This
is
how
life
happens.
My

the

Inked
their

placed
their

on
the
Inked

and
hand
burnished,
which
means
rubbed
their
papers
evenly
transferring
the
ink.
A
If
you
get
a
chance
after
the
meeting,
take
a
look
at
the
art,
it's
even
more
magnificent
up
close
and
how
the
scholars
were
able
to
achieve
the
different
mediums
within
the
art.
We
have
the
art
back
here
and
then
we
also
have
our
food
displays
out
there,
which
are
kiddos,
worked
really
hard
on,
and
they
look
really
good
one
of
my
favorite
things
to
do
each
month,
I
apologize
Scholars
for
watching
this
one
item
two
is
our
first
reading
for
information
regarding
policy,
jica
student
dress
and
information
on
jica-r
student
dress.
J
Good
evening
Governor
Ward
president
Hernandez
superintendent,
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
governing
board
members
executive
team
and
those
in
attendance.
Our
superintendent
Dr
agler
Lawler,
has
had
the
pleasure
of
working
very
closely
with
a
group
of
our
young
leaders
who
you
are
all
able
to
see
at
the
last
governing
board
meeting.
During
the
study
session,
the
superintendent
scholar
Council
group
has
been
working
diligently
to
propose
address
code
survey
stakeholders
and
make
changes
to
our
current
dress
code.
The
administration
provides
a
first
reading
for
policy.
J
Jica
student
dress
update
is
necessary
in
order
to
update
the
policy
language
as
a
uniform
District.
A
second
reading
will
be
provided
at
the
June
8th
board
meeting.
Therefore,
in
order
to
ensure
consistency
and
more
options
for
Scholars
and
Guardians
and
parents,
the
administration
provides
to
the
board
for
their
information.
The
revision
to
regulation,
j-I-c-a-r
student
dress,
I
was
hoping
I
would
not
cough.
I
was
trying
to
get
to
the
end
student
address
that
were
recommended
by
the
superintendent
scholar,
Council
and
guided
by
results
of
stakeholder
surveys.
J
A
T
T
The
original
idea
was
to
pay
the
retention
stipends
out
of
Esser,
but
what
we
thought
was
most
fair
and
Equitable
to
establish
to
make
sure
that
we
kept
a
current
Staffing
levels
as
best
as
we
could
moving
forward
into
next
year,
so
we're
paying
all
those
overdos
out
of
Esser.
So
that's
bad
news,
but
it's
good
news,
because
your
keeper
paid
you're
going
to
keep
all
of
our
staff
and.
I
Sorry
I
want
to
clarify
board
president
members
of
the
governing
board.
We
are
going
to
be
giving
a
retention,
stipend,
I,
know
she's
too
excited
about
five.
We
are
going
to
be
giving
one.
We
want
to
give
the
maximum
amount
that
we
can.
We
just
don't
know
what
that
is
until
we
come
back
in
August
and
we
plan
on
doing
a
double
payout,
one
in
November
and
one
in
late
April
early
May.
I
A
We're
going
to
go
to
item
four
I
was
just
thinking.
Maybe
we
could
have
made
it
like
opposite,
so
she
didn't
have
to
wait
so
long
item
four
we'll
just
have
to
hold
it
in
a
second
item.
Four
is
our
update
for
the
new
online
registration
for
student
enrollment,
presented
by
Miss
Victoria
Ferrar
and
Victor
Hugo
Rodriguez
foreign.
T
Thank
you
board,
president
members
of
the
governing
board,
Dr
agler
Lawler
members
of
the
executive
team
and
everyone
in
person
in
attendance
and
in
person,
and
online
Dr,
Kathy
Marstons.
It
with
information
system
has
been
working
really
really
hard,
with
her
staff
and
Mr
Hugo's
department
on
getting
the
online
registration
portal
up
and
running
I'm
happy
to
say
that
it's
been
up
and
running
for
new
students
for
a
while,
since
we
had
to
do,
we
know
all
of
CBA.
T
Students
are
enrolling
via
parent
view
and
I
want
to
really
thank
the
the
principles
for
really
reaching
out
to
their
community
and
their
their
parents
and
their
families
to
have
all
of
their
new
registrations
in
parent
view.
I
also
want
to
thank
the
governing
board
for
allowing
us
to
hire
and
create
a
position
for
an
enrollment
coordinator.
That's
really
been
helping
all
the
schools
and
making
sure
we
have
some
sort
of
centralized
process
and
a
one
person
to
go
to
to
answer
questions.
T
The
registration
Center
is
housed
at
Atkinson,
and
that
will
stay
that
way,
even
through
the
four
day
week.
That
person
will
be
housed
at
the
family
center
so
that
way
that
person
can
be
available
five
days
a
week
in
the
coming
year.
We
will
also
open
that
and
make
that
available
for
new
students.
So
that
way
we
can
all
of
the
annual
update
required
forms
like
you
have
to
do
your
parent
contacts.
You
have
to
do
your
medical
information.
You
can
do
all
of
that
for
existing
students
online.
T
And
again,
I
wanted
to
share
that
parent
view.
When
we
first
started
this
process
parent
view
of
registrations
for
parents
were
very,
very
low,
it
was
only
14
of
our
families.
District
White
had
parent
view,
and
some
of
our
schools
have
really
increased,
like
67
percent
registration
in
parent
view,
so
we're
really
doing
a
good
job
of
advocating
that
for
our
families,
that's
what
they
can
get
grades
and
get
attendance.
You
know
attendance
information,
tardy
information,
anything
like
that
they
can
grab
on
online
and
Victor.
You
want
to
take
it
over.
C
Yes,
good
evening,
Madam
president
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
governing
board
members
and
those
in
the
audience
and
on
YouTube
I,
just
want
to
say
that
you
know
ever
since
you
know
I
started
working
for
a
car
ride.
We
had
been
working
hard
to
be
able
to
make
some
changes
to
the
website
to
make
it
easier
for
people
to
navigate.
You
know
the
all
the
information
that
we
have
available
and
now
the
online
enrollment
is
available.
So
we
created
a
little
box.
C
You
know
to
and
created
an
alert,
so
people
can
have
easy
access
to
to
that
website.
So
those
are
some
other
things
that
we're
going
to
continue
working
on
and
we're
working
on.
Creating
some
communication
to
send
out
to
to
our
families
in
the
area
and
that
information
is
also
going
to
be
is
going
to
be
included
on
our
social
media
outlets
and
our
in
our
digital
campaigns
that
are
still
active.
T
Thank
you,
president
Hernandez
members
of
the
governing
board,
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
members
of
the
executive
team
and
everyone
in
attendance
on
Personnel
online.
So
the
way
what
I
wanted
to
do
is
what
like
the
first
one's
gonna,
be
bad
news
and
the
second
ones
will
be
great
news
and
I
was
like.
Oh
man,
I
didn't
get
to
do
the
way
I
wanted
to
do
it,
but
it's
it's
good,
because
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
is
completely
correct.
T
There's
a
lot
and
thank
you.
Thank
you.
Miss
Lydia
Hernandez.
We
have
some
one-time
funds
that
were
that
are
really
intended
for
stipends
that
we
can
pay
out
so
that
I
want
to
say.
I've
got
so
many
celebrations
with
the
budget.
The
AEO
was
waived
ahead
of
time
OMG.
That
was,
we
don't
have
to
wait
till
February
to
figure
out
that
we're
having
to
cut
or
not
cut
we're
not
going
to
have
to
deal
with
that
this
coming
year.
So
that's
a
huge
celebration.
Thank
you!
T
So
much
there's
a
2.92
percent
of
inflation
to
the
base
that
was
part
of
getting
rid
of
results-based
funding.
So
the
results-based
funding
amount
that
that
some
of
our
schools
have
gotten
now
it's
going
to
be
distributed,
distributed
to
all
schools.
T
So
that's
about
a
that's
about
about
two
million
dollars
that
we're
going
to
be
able
to
to
get
and
then
with
three
million
dollars
for
the
one-time
funds.
So
we're
gonna
have
some
money
to
pay
retention
stipends
as
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
said
we
don't
exactly
know
exactly
what
those
amounts
are,
we're
still
going
through
the
contract
or
work
agreement
issuance
process
and
we've
still
got
some
more
work
on
that
to
do
so.
T
My
goal
is
to
provide
an
update
in
August
for
the
amounts
that
we'll
be
able
to
pay
in
the
the
stipends
that
we
would
pay
out
twice
next
year.
So
that
is
excellent
news.
Thank
you
to
the
legislature
and
the
governor
for
waiving
the
AEL
ahead
of
time.
I,
don't
have
to
say
that
word
again
for
the
rest
of
the
year.
T
K
K
It
was
quite
an
experience
because
I
had
not
had
the
opportunity
to
delve
into
at
that
level
and
I
do
want
to
thank
the
governor
because
and
I
was
one
of
the
first
ones.
That
said,
you
know
no,
we
gotta
counter
him.
We
got
a
counter.
We
got
to
stand
up,
strong,
it's
okay,
it's
okay!
To
counter
our
governor,
however,
Governor
started
meeting
with
us
and
and
negotiated
some
asked
for
support
it.
It's
tough!
It's
still!
K
It's
still
controlled
by
a
majority
and
our
caucus
is
a
caucus
was
frankly
being
dismissed.
However,
it
pays
off
I
think
to
to
to
counter,
because
you
can
start,
you
can
open
a
conversation
and
it's
not
soon
enough.
I
think
we've
got
some.
Some
buy-in
I
mean
I.
Dare
I
spoke.
You
know.
I
was
appealing
in
the
best
way
that
I
could
being
professional.
K
They
know
me
we're
getting
to
know
each
other
I've
joined
my
my
colleagues
in
attending
Bible
study
every
week
which,
if
you're
down
there,
you
need
it
I
need
support,
but
it
was
a
great
experience
and
I
think
that
the
given
the
conditions,
the
governor,
heard
us
and
met
with
us
individually
and
asked
you
know.
Is
there
anything
else?
What
can
you
know?
How
can
we
do
understanding
you
know
for
for
now,
but
I
I
feel
like
it
doesn't.
Ael
is
still
there.
Esa's
are
still
there.
K
I
was
sharing
about
the
driver's
license
at
the
end
and
I
had
been
I
said
the
heck,
I'm
gonna,
throw
everything
out
and
what
I
wanted
to
share
with
my
colleagues
is
that
as
a
community
that,
if
you
know
I've,
been
told,
oh,
you
know
you're
you're,
you're
you're,
one
of
those
that
we
want
to
invite
you
to
the
table.
You're,
you're,
good
I,
said
but
I'm
a
direct
reflection
of
my
community.
K
That's
who
we
are
so
I
entertained
the
conversation
about
the
driver's
license,
so
I'm
looking
forward
to
I
got
commitment
to
have
that
conversation,
but
the
governor
was
a
lot
more
exciting,
though
in
others
and
and
other
issues
that
we
had
to
deal
with
and
there's
a
learning
curve
and
I.
Think
for
for
everybody
involved.
But
I
was
so
grateful
this
time
around.
If
you're
not
included,
you
make
yourself
be
included,
and
so
there'll
be
more
to
come
along
those
lines
and
I'm.
A
I
I
President
members
of
the
governing
board
audience
those
watching
on
YouTube
I
just
want
to
let
the
governing
board
know
that
I
did
get
a
request
at
the
last
meeting,
but
it
we
didn't
go
through
the
agenda.
We
are
going
to
be
presenting
on
our
dual
language
program,
so
I
we
won't
be
doing
it
until
August,
but
we're
going
to
be
getting
information
and
videos
from
our
our
Scholars
at
the
schools
so
that
we
can
give
you
an
update.
So
thank
you.
A
Item
I
is
our
announcement
of
future
meeting
date
and
other
routine
information
concerning
the
governing
board.
Really
quick.
This
is
out
of
order
and
I
apologize,
but
I
just
wanted
to
say
thank
you
to
representative
Annelise
Ortiz
for
giving
our
Cartwright
Scholars
a
shout
out
on
the
house
floor
yesterday.
A
So
thank
you
very
much
and
now
our
next
regular
revenue
board
meeting
will
be
held
on
Thursday
June
8
2023
at
five
o'clock
P.M
at
the
Cartwright
School
District
Board
Room
I'd
like
to
make
a
motion
for
adjournment
of
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
regular
meeting
for
Thursday
May
11
2023.
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez.
We
do
have
a
motion
made
by
myself
and
a
second
by
governing
board
member
Miss
Lydia
Hernandez.
A
We
don't
need
any
discussion,
Ms
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote
aye?
Thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez,
vice
president
Garcia.
How
do
you
vote
I
voting?
Thank
you,
Miss
Garcia
Ivory
as
well,
and
guess
what
the
motion
carries
unanimously
and
it
is
7
14
p.m.
This
meeting
is
adjourned.
Another
record
not
as
quick
as
last
one,
but
we
try
be
safe
for
everyone
have
a
safe
trip
home
like
that.
