hearing
regarding
the
adopted
budget
for
school
year,
2223

mr
derek
etheridge,
our
director
of
business
services,
actually
officially
effective
tomorrow,
yay.
He
is
going
to
provide
the
presentation
on
the
adopted
budget
that
the
board
will
be
asked
to
approve
tonight.

This
is
the
like
ms
farrar,
said
the
budget
and
tax
overview
for
our
fiscal
year.
2023.

do
know
that
I
am
standing

You

a
lot
of
people's
four
day
weekend,
at
least
some
even
more
extended.
So
I
plan
to
draw
this
out
as
long
as
possible.

The
district,
additional
assistance
or
capital
fund
is
used
for
school
buses,
vehicles,
furniture
and
equipment,
building
facility,
repair,
instructional
aids
and
technology
hardware
and
software,
and
our
anticipated
amount
for
fy
23
is
about
20.6
million
dollars
again
an
increase
over
last
year,
and
this
is
a
slide
to
show
the
three
year
budget
comparison.
So
you
can
see
total.
We
were
looking
at
about
107
million
for
fy,
2021
fy22
was
about
116
and
we
take
a
jump
or
we
expect
to
take
a
jump
in
fy
23
about
134.5
million
dollars.

What
I
will
say-
and
I
do
want
to
comment
on
this-
is
that
when
we
look
at
overall,
the
increase
to
the
base
was
about
eight
point,
eight
percent,
but
they
reduced
kind
of
what
was
called
the
teacher
compensation
piece
which
reduced
it
by
about
a
quarter
of
a
percent
and
why
that's
important
is
because
the
the
schools
that
did
not
qualify
for
that
were
the
the
charter
schools.

So
just
something
that
I
wanted
to
point
out.
We
also
did
assume
a
small
reduction
in
adm.
As
we
know,
over
the
past
years,
our
adm
has
been
decreasing
not
as
rapidly,
though
so,
hopefully,
we're
hoping
to
make
that
up.
But
we
know
through
our
studies,
that
we
are
expected
to
continue
to
see
a
little
bit
of
a
downturn.

So
now,
let's
talk
a
little
bit
about
our
taxes
and
the
tax
overview.
So
as
the
county
and
state
levy
taxes
we're
looking
at
three
different
components
to
that,
so
the
first
one
is
the
statewide
assessed
evaluation.
So
the
the
state
takes
a
look
at
all
of
the
assessed
values
across
the
state.
Then
they
take
a
look
at
well.
How
much
do
we
need
for
our
programs
and
mind
you?
Education
is
not
the
only
program
that
taxes
go
to,
so
they
take
a
look
at
across
all
programs.
What
is
the
demand?

What
do
we
need
to
collect
from
those
properties
and
that's
what
helps
create
that
tax
rate?
We
also
for
the
district,
as
we
levy
taxes
for
adjacent
ways,
so
taking
a
little
bit
more
look
into
component,
one,
the
statewide
change
of
the
assessed
value.
This
is
not
determined
yet
for
2022
that
comes
out
in
august
finalized
in
about
october.

What's
important
to
note
on
this
slide
because
I
myself
was
confused
when
I
first
became
a
homeowner
homeowner
several
years
ago,
is
that
when
we
talk
about
assessed
value,
we're
not
talking
about
cash
value,
and
so
that's
important
because,
as
the
community
members
are
taking
a
look
at
their,
you
know,
if
we
say
it's
going
to
be
a
a
levy
of
twenty
dollars
for
every
hundred
thousand,
they
look
on
zillow
and
they
say.
Oh,
my
gosh,
my
home
is
worth
four
hundred
thousand.
So
that's
a
hundred
and
that's
not
true.

E
Important
to
note
here
is
that
we
are
a
state
aid
district.
So
that
means
that
about
94
percent
of
our
m
on
capital
revenues
come
directly
from
the
state,
so
in
other
districts
that
might
have
higher
property
values
they
collect
most
of
their
their
budget.
If
you
will,
from
the
their
local
property
taxes
we
get
most
of
ours
from
the
state.
E
And
then
the
third
component
to
the
tax
levy
is
the
adjacent
ways
and
and,
as
you
guys
know,
the
adjacent
ways
really
funds
kind
of
some
of
the
offs
off-site
things.
So
like
parking
lots
going
into
parking,
lots
and
schools-
and
I
know
that
we've
had
several
conversations
at
board
meetings
about
sometimes
some
of
our
schools
and
they're
getting
better.
I
know
we've
we've
done
a
lot
of
work
with
it,
but
we
still
need
some
adjacent
waste
funding
to
continue
to
support
some
of
those.

And
so,
when
we
take
a
look
at
the
secondary
tax
rate,
two
keep
in
mind
that
the
primary
tax
rate
is
kind
of.
What's
used,
goes
to
the
state
or
the
county
to
goes
into
kind
of
the
general
pool,
and
then
that's
disseminated
to
different
districts
and
different
programs,
whereas,
as
we
take
a
look
at
the
secondary
tax
rate,
that
is
just
for
our
district.
So
that
is
that
funds,
our
bonds
and
that
funds
our
budget
overrides.

And
so
finally,
a
couple
of
important
points
regarding
the
budget
and
taxes,
so
the
state
determines
the
maintenance
and
operations
and
capital
budget
limits,
so
they
take
a
look
at
base
amounts
and
they
have
some
multipliers
depending
upon
your
subgroups
of
students
and
things
like
that.
To
give
us
what
our
budget
is.

The
district
again
determines
the
amount
to
be
collected
or
retained
for
adjacent
ways
and
the
bonds
and
overrides,
which
is
what
that
adjacent
ways.
Tax
levy
funds
are
subject
to
voter
approval,
and
then
this
is
why
I
said
what
I
said
before
about,
even
though
our
budget
went
up,
and
we
are
very
excited
that
our
budget
went
up
and
that
we,
we
saw
a
lot
of
influx
of
money
to
the
state.

I
know
that
really
the
only
the
legislature,
because
it's
in
the
constitution,
this
ael
has
to
be
voter
approved,
and
so
you
know
we,
the
legislator
can
put
it
on
the
ballot
and
things
like
that,
but
the
only
only
thing
they
can
do
without
voter
approval
is
just
override
it
for
that
year
and
they
can't
they
can't
up
it.
They
can't
do
anything
to
just
override
it
for
that
year,
so
we
just
we
want
to
make
sure
that
we
we
were
hoping
that
they
were
going
to
deal
with
that
issue.

know
this
session,
but
it
didn't.
We
heard
there
could
be
a
possible
special
session
held
to
address
this
issue,
but
still
it
is
definitely
still
a
concern
for
us
going
into
next
year,
and
so
what
happens
now?
So
we
asked
the
governing
board
today
tonight
to
approve
the
adopted
budget
for
fy23
by
july
15th.

Our
staff
will
send
that
adopted
budget
to
ade,
as
well
as
a
maricopa
county
school
superintendent,
and
we
will
post
it
on
the
district
website
as
well.
The
auditor
general
will
issue
final
budget
forms,
so
one
thing
I
forgot
to
mention
is
that,
as
we
created
these
forums-
and
I
talked
about
the
assumptions
that
we
made,
it
was
because
when
we
by
statute,
we
have
to
adopt
budgets
by
a
certain
time
and
the
legislature
still
had
not
passed
the
budget
yet
so
we
were
kind
of
going
on
some
of
our
best
guesses
turns
out.

It
actually
turned
out
to
be,
I
think,
pretty
a
pretty
good
guess
that
we
did,
but
until
we
get
the
budget,
the
final
forms
and
plug
all
the
numbers
in
and
things
like
that,
we
won't
see
the
exact
numbers
but
doing
some
just
kind
of
general
calculations.
I
think
we
were
pretty
close
on
this
one
and
then
finally,
it
will
be
required.
Now
that
we
have
the
final
forms
the
actual
budget
has
been
passed.
We
will
be
required
to
issue
that
first
budget
revision
in
the
fall
of
2022.

drafting
and
inking
a
single
coloring
book
page,
which
is
compiled
into
a
complete
coloring
book
and
sold
at
the
pbis
school
store.
This
project
is
designed
to
teach
scholars
about
the
drafting
and
inking
process
used
by
professional
artists
in
the
comic
book
industry.
Since
the
early
20th
century,
the
process
can
be
broken
down
into
four
parts:
sketchbook
practice
drafting
inking
and
reproduction
sketchbook
practice.
First
scholars
are
assigned
a
picture
of
a
rock
star
which
they
then
reproduce
in
their
own
individual
sketchbooks.

Once
they
have
practiced
drawing
the
rock
stars,
they
will
fill
out
the
rest
of
the
page
with
a
zentangle
pattern.
This
allows
them
to
develop
their
composition
and
explore
designs
drafting
once
they
are
finished
practicing
in
their
sketchbooks
scholars
receive
their
final
draft
paper
as
well
as
a
special
non-photo
blue
colored
pencil.

special
property
of
the
colored
pencil
allows
the
artist
to
make
and
correct
drafting
mistakes
even
on
their
final
draft.

So
scholars
can
draft
with
confidence
that
a
mistake
does
not
mean
a
ruined
project
inking
once
the
draft
is
complete,
the
artist
exchanges,
their
non-photo
blue
for
a
fountain
pen
or
micron
pen,
after
being
taught
how
to
correctly
use
their
respective
pens,
they
use
their
inking
tool
to
draw
their
final
lines
for
the
page.
On
top
of
their
draft
lines,.

Ignoring
any
lines
on
the
draft
that
they
don't
like
reproduction
after
inking,
a
black
and
white
photocopy,
is
made
of
the
artwork
any
non-photo
blue
marks,
which
were
present
in
the
draft,
are
not
seen
by
the
scanner

not
reproduced
by
the
copier.
The
resulting
image
is
then
compiled
with
the
others
and
published
into
a
spiral
bound
book.
The
book
is,
then
reproduced
and
sold
as
a
coloring
book
at
cartwright's
cougar
store,
the
standards
taught
are

the
description
is
personal
mosaic
scholars,
selected
items
that
revealed
personal
reference
or
ideas
to
feature
in
a
glass
mosaic.

slab
ceramic
base
was
shaped
and
fired
and
then
glazed
on
the
side.

personal
items
were
attached.
Then
small
pieces
of
glass
tessaray
were
placed
around
the
personal
items.

mosaic
is
a
little.

mosaic

a
puzzle
in
that
scholars
select
and
fit
the
glass
pieces
around
the
personal
objects,
leaving
a
consistent
space
between
each
piece
after
drying.
Overnight
grout
was
applied
by
pushing
it
into
the
spaces
between
the
glass,
then
carefully,
wiping
off
the
excess
grout
with
the
damp
sponge
rinsing
and
lightly
wiping
to
remove
grout
from
their
objects
and
the
glass
while
leaving
an
even
layer
that
would
hold
the
mosaic
pieces
together
after
cleaning
the
residue
from
the
glass
a
wire
was
attached
for
hanging.

also
have
rotation,
linoleum
print
scholars.
First,
looked
at
persian,
tile
designs
to
get
inspiration
for
a
rotation
linoleum
print
they
would
design.
They
then
created
their
own
motif
using
organic
or
geometric
lines
and
shapes.
This
individual
motif
would
be
rotated
around
a
central
point,
so
the
motif
was
drawn
out
to
ensure
it
would
fit
to
ensure
it
would
fit
together
and
create
a
fluid
design.
The
motif
was
then
transferred
onto
a
linoleum
plate
and
the
image
was
carved,
creating
either
a
positive
or
negative
design.

an
artist
proof
printed
to
check
for
completeness
scholars
lightly,
marked
their
paper
with
a
horizontal
and
vertical
line
to
align
their
plate
for
each
print.
The
plate
was
then
inked
in
the
selected
color
and
rotated
after
each
successive
print
scholars
were
able
to
experiment
with
various
paper
and
ink
color
combinations,
creating
a
variety
of
different
effects.
The
final
print
was
titled
and
signed
by
each
artist.

the

each
grade

grade
scholars
created
sean
michael
basquat,
inspired
cardboard
stages
with
symbols.
They
felt
represented
their
theme
after
viewing
a
documentary
on
the
artist's
life
and
thought
process.
Scholars
created
a
masterwork
recreation
on
paper,
then
transferred
it
to
the
3d
form
wow.
For
anyone
who
hasn't
had
a
chance
to
take
a
look
at
the
artwork,
I'm
sure
it
definitely
gives
you
a
different
perspective.
Now
it
is
one
of
our
favorite
things
here
in
the
boardroom
and
leading
us
into
the
meetings
every
evening
when
we
have
them,
it's
not
every
single
night.

meeting

week

half

so
we
have
good
representation

a
group
of
teachers.

have

representation
from
transportation,
our
sros
a
wide
variety

stakeholders,
just
to
get
make
sure
we
get
as
many
good
ideas
as
we
can
from

variety
of
different
perspectives,
and
so
in
our
first
two
meetings.

far,
we've

some
good
progress
and
really
have
focused
on
looking
at
safety
and
security
from
a
variety
of
angles.

them,
that's
really
been
emphasized.

importance
of

scholars
feeling
connected
to
a
trusted
adult
on
campus
so
continuing
to
work
with
our
priority
of
social,
emotional
learning

we're
creating
the
conditions
for
our
scholars
to
feel
that
they
have
somebody
to
go
to
when
they're
at
school
and
just
increasing
the
odds
that
you
know
they'll
feel
comfortable
sharing
if
there's
any
types
of
disturbing
information
that
or
rumors
that
might
be
floating
around
out
there?

That
could
affect
the
individual
or
entire
campus
safety
of
our
students
and
staff.
So
we
know
that
that's
an
area
that
we
want
to
continue
to
emphasize
and
continue
to
to
provide
training
in
as
we
move
into
the
new
year
and

really
continue
to
place
a
great
emphasis
on
the
importance
of
social
emotional
learning
and
that
our
students
feel
connected.

to
that,
we've
really
been
talking
a
lot
about
the
notion
of
layers
of
safety
and
security.
So
one
of
our
participants
within
our
group
is
with
the
trust,
who
comes
with
a
lot
of
expertise
and
has
shared
with
us

notion

layers
of
security
and
also
within
our
team,
determining
as
we're
talking
about
our
different
safety
and
security
measures.

are
the
things
that
are
most
that
are
most
critical
that
are
most
essential
and
then
those
that
are
desired
and
just
really
prior
to
continuing
to
engage
our
task
force
to
prioritize.

do
we
want
to
start

down

to
continue
to

develop

that
over
time
we're
creating
the
most
secure
environments

scholars
and
our

areas
that
we
picked
out
as
a
team
that
we
thought

start
immediately
and
we
started
to
do
some
of
these
things
within
summer
school
and
and
will
be
part
of
the
recommendations
that
we
that
we
bring
as
we
continue

meet

a

a
task
force,
are
being
very
consistent
and
vigilant
about
those
day-to-day
security
measures
and
safety
measures
that
are
already
in
place.

that
can
be
real
easy
to
just
kind
of
take
for
granted,
especially
pre-order
times
you
know,
but
since
then
it's
really
caused
us
to
take
a
step
back
and
rightfully
so
to
examine
how
consistent
we're
being
with
these.

measures

are
already
in
place,
so
that
includes
you
know
all
of
our
staff
members
having
sick
security,
badges
or
a
means
of
identifying
themselves,
so
that
everybody
on
campus
knows
that
the
people
who
are
there
have
have
legitimate
business
for
being
there
that
all
of
our
visitors
who
come
in
are
signing
in
and
signing
out.

includes
all
of
us,
whether
we're
administrators
or
vendors,
whoever
it
might
be,
but
that
we're
constantly
that
we're
always
following
those
practices
that
we're
expecting
everybody
else
to
follow,
so
that
we
do
have
an
accounting

everybody.

coming

our
campuses,
also
during
summer
school.
We

started
to
require
that,
after
arrival
times,
you
know
once
the
traffic
had
settled
a
little
bit
and
scholars
had
time
to
get
into
their
classrooms
was
having
our
visitors
having
our
office
to
our
front
office
doors.

Locked
visitors
would
ring
the
doorbell
to
get
in
and
then
our
office
staff
would
confirm
the
reason
for,
for
individuals
being
there
still
in
the
spirit
of
customer
service,
that's
their
one,
the
same
we
could
still
be
secure
and
also
provide
great
customer
service
and
then
admitting
people
once
we
can
once
we've
confirmed.
You
know
that
they're
that
they
have
a
business
for
being
here.
So
we
that's.

What
are
some
solutions
that
we
can
do
there
to
make
it
less
accessible
for
somebody
to
come
on
to
campus
in
a
crisis
situation,
so
we're
looking
at
door,
locking
mechanisms
to
put
in
place
so
that,
in
the
event
of
a
crisis
situation
or
active
shooter
situation,
it's
something
that
the
door,
locking
mechanisms
will
be
very
user
friendly
and
easy
to
do
so
that
it
that
reduces
the
amount
of
of
thinking
that
that
a
teacher
or
staff
member
in
a
crisis
situation
might
have
to
deal
with
because
the
way
things
happen
and
develop
so
quickly.

In
addition
to
the
physical,
physical
security,
additional
physical
security
ideas
are
working
on
our
new
office
projects
that
we're
currently
working
on
borman.
As
an
example
is
just
looking
at
the
designs
up
front
to
make
sure
that
we
put
in
place
security
features
that
will
keep
the
front
office,
lobbies
secure
and
also
making
access
to
the
greater
campus
more
difficult.

So
as
we're
working
with
our
architects
who
have
experience
and
and
really
securing
front
office
environments
they're
applying
those
best
practices
to
our
new
designs,
and
even
as
we
continue
to
talk
about
how
we
want
to
utilize
our
bond
funds
for
future
projects,
retrofitting
some
of
our
older
offices
could
be
a
part
of
that
discussion.

to
add
some
additional
safety
features
beyond
physical
security
considerations.

have
begun
that
process
with
summer
school
staff
who
all
received
the
avoid
deny
defend
training
that
had
been
brought
to
our
parent

advisory
committee
and
also
here
to
our
governing
board,
so
that
a
percentage
of
our

teachers

staff
have
had
that
training
upon
return.
We
will
do
that
for
the
remake
for
our
remaining
staff
that
have
not
yet
had
that,
and
we
are
also
working
with
mr
pina
and
also
with
the
trust,
to
provide
differentiate,
differentiated
safety
training
for
our
staff
as
they
come
back
that
way.

the

areas

threat

looking

variety
of

how
to

address
security

concerns

some
different
products
like
for
on
anonymous
tip
lines
so
for
our
scholars
that
may
want
to
have
a
way
to
be
able
to
report
anonymously
information
that
might
be
of
concern
that
they
would
have
a
way
of
doing
that.

they've
brought
some
great
ideas
on
some
products
that
we
can
put
in
place
to
be
able
to
monitor
and
keep
track
of
searches.

if
students
are
searching
something
with
some
frequency,
that's
disturbing
and

might
raise
a
red
flag
that
we
need
to
look
into
to
be
able
to
to
provide
support
to
that
scholar,
having
having
tools
to
be
able
to
do
that
and
then
again.

also
at
our
camera
placement
as
a
as
an
analysis
of
our
vulnerabilities,
do
we
have
adequate
camera
placement
to
be
able
to
to
monitor
all
of
our
different
areas
and

foresee
possible
situations

coming

way

another
highly
important
agreement
that
we
have
as
a
group
is
the
importance
of
parent
communication,
so
just
making
sure
that
we
are
getting
this
information
out
to
our
parents
on
what
we're
doing
as
a
task
force.

comments,
but
it
was.
It
was
a
great
opportunity.
Honestly.
I
look
forward
to

workshops.
You
know
the
networking
opportunities,
because
over
the
many
many
years,
you've
established
a
network
and
you
get
to
see
each
other,
many
of
whom
have
either
serving
in
their
same
capacity
or
moved
on,
but
there's
a
variety
of
leadership
from
ranging
from
judges
to
commissioners
to
I
think
there
was
even
a
yeah,
a
council
member
from
harris
county,
several
just
a
lot
of
opportunities.

It
was
it's
that
shot
in
the
arm
of
energy
coming
back
and
listening
to
some
of
the
best
practices
in
the
workshops,
one
of
which
I
jotted
down
a
few,
a
few
things
that
I
was
involved
in
and
that
that
I
think
resonated
with
me
and
was
important
to
me.
There
was
the
local
governance
revenue
solvency
in
the
time
of
covid,
so
all
of
the
implications
all
of
the
economic
implications
and
what
that
means
to
government.

The
framework
for
for
discourse
at
a
time
of
of
political
or
policy
polarization,
and
I
noticed
the
trend-
and
I
don't
know
if
anybody
else
did
at
least
it's
something
that's
important
to
me,
because
here
in
arizona,
especially
at
our
state
state
legislature,
we
are
so
divided
and
you're,
seeing
it's
seen
negatively
if
you
dare
engage
in
a
conversation
with
somebody,
that's
not
of
your
of
your
political
party,
but
I
saw
a
trend
and
I'm
hoping
that
trend
continues,
and
maybe
there
was
a
reason
for
having
it
at
this
level
of
discourse.

So
it
was
about
a
polarization
but
describing
what
what
it's
like,
but,
however,
that
it
cannot
continue,
and
so
they
spun
it
out
of
the
recent
discussions
with
bipartisanship
and
gun
violence,
and
you
know
that
that
bipartisan
legislation
that
just
had
was
handed
down.
So
obviously
there
was
a
lot
of
work.
But
that
was
something
that
I
hope
I
personally
get
an
opportunity
to
work
at,
because
it's,
I
think
it's
in
arizona
we're
dealing
with
our
arizona
families
and
how
can
we
reach
everybody?

Has
families
in
arizona
right,
so
it
doesn't
matter
regardless
of
political
party,
the
perfect
storm,
the
fentanyl
policy
one
I
went
to
that
breakout.
We
had
a
former
and
actually
naleo
member
moderator
who
was
serving
as
moderator
who
was
a
former
council
member.
I
think
in
long
beach
she's
been
around
for
for
a
few
years
and
she
has
she
shares
her
personal
story.

So
this
is
something
that
was
very
firsthand
to
her
and
I
think
the
she
talked
about
the
importance
of
being
able
to
speak
and
share
your
story
because,
as
an
elected
official
and
being
a
city
council
member
at
the
city
level
and
having
had
the
experience
that
she
did,
I
think
it
was
her.
Parents
were
gang
members
and
ended
up
in
federal
prison
and
she
ended
up
becoming
elected
to
you
know
to
city
council.
So
the
fact
that
you
know
we're
the
reason
we
have
trips
like
this
and
the
opportunities
for
that.

It
was
great,
however,
I
think
at
the
end
of
the
day,
and
I
did
take
a
walk
away
with
a
card
and
remained
in
contact
with
a
there
was
a
commissioner
from
new
york
that
actually
shared
one
of
the
best
practices
that
I
hadn't
heard
of
I'm
familiar
with
the
the
clinics,
the
local
clinics
that
provide
what
is
it
morphine?
What
is
it
the
drug
oxytone
methadone,
something
that
don't,
but
so
I'm
familiar
with
those
and
the
practice.

However,
I
think
a
little
bit
beyond
that
which
was
to
me
I
hadn't
seen
here
and
the
lack
of
discussion
around
it
and
how
we
treat
the
discussion
of
you
know.
We
can't
avoid
it
guys.
So
we've
talked
about
it
before
at
the
corn
street
corners
here
in
west,
phoenix
and
maryville
that
the
large
numbers
are
congregated
individuals
that
are
impacted
by
it
and
they
they
had
centers,
and
I
may
not
be
getting
it
correctly.
But
there
are
drug
distribution
centers,
it
might
sound
hairy.

But
what
they're
doing
is
it's
a
treatment
program?
And
so,
but
obviously
the
push
for
discussion
was
to
be
proactive
and
to
to
discuss
policy
about
not
just
treatment
but.

Behavioral
health
issues
among
our
community,
so
that
was
what
I
walked
away
with
with
that,
but
in
general
to
cut
it
short,
I'm
the
fired
side
chat,
the
self-care,
the
stresses
policy
makers.
I
mean
we're
included
having
to
re-change
our
the
way
we
do
business
and
that
stress
that
comes
along
with
it.

It
was
a
great
overall,
great
great
experience.
We
had,
I
think,
a
lot
more
shared
experiences
together,
so
we
had
an
opportunity
to
attend
several
of
the
functions,
and
I
can
I,
I
guess,
taking
a
step
back,
see
how
everything
kind
of
chimes
in
gives
me
a
different
perspective
around.
For
example,
the
you
know
the
the
trip
some
of
the
vendors
that
we
run
into
the
discussions
and
how
I
guess
you
stretch
it
to
make
it
you
know
to
make
it
work,
how
it
impacts,
get
something
back
for
our
community
members
right.

great
experience
I'll
leave
it
at

funds

would
do
the
electric
electric
session,
so
it
was
interesting.

I
I
attended
that
session
and
a
lot
of
the
districts.
Dr
mcgrano
are
nationwide.

they're
having
those
conversations
about
electric
stations,
electric
buses,
electric
feeds
fleets,
but
it
was
interesting.
There
was
about
20
20
to
25
different
districts
across
the
the
nation.
In
that
session.

know
they
asked
us
to
raise
their
hands
and
what
stay
where
you
from,
and
many
of
the
states
they're
barely
on
the
stages
of
acquiring,
whether
it's
an
electric
bus
or
electric
fleets,
barely
at
the
stages
of
building
coalitions
to
bring
in
school
districts.

regional
bus
station
also
came
up
in
the
conversation
as
well.

So
definitely
it
brought
me
back
to
the
conversations
that
we
started
here
perhaps
last
year
and
the
work
that
dr
madrano
is
doing
with
our
partners
and
other
neighboring
districts.
So
it's
good.
I
think
we
are
ahead
of
the
game
from
what
I
saw
from
many
other
districts.

The
infrastructure
investment
act,
you
know,
is
deploying
7.5
billion
dollars
in
funding
for
districts
who
are
pursuing
this,
so
definitely
there's
definitely
opportunities
in
federal
dollars.
As
we
mingled
throughout
different
sessions.
I
ran
into
a
an
older
friend
from
texas
I
in
2010
I
had
the
opportunity
to
lobby
for
the
dream
act
and
then
this
this
person
hosted
me
in
their
house
and
now
she
or
her
name
is
monster.

She
works
for
the

secretary.

don't
know
if
you
know

but
I
mentioned
that
we
were
there
in
d.c
right
across
her
building
that
holiday
inn.
Hotel

right
across

connected

offered

need
it
or
if
we
return
to
dc,
to
take
the
scholars
into
that
building.

one
of

executive

that

has

saw

opportunities

learn
about
mental
health
and

the
need
for

across

nation

public
schools.

few
other

it
makes
me
feel
good
that
we
are
on
the
right

that

ahead

and
other
states
are
having
with
that,
it
was
good

again
reconvene
and
do
some
professional
development
bond
with
our
staff

mean
that's
when
a
lot
of
our
travel
for
staff
and
principals

those

have
to

happen
before
the
travel
is
make
sure
that
it's

most

for
the
travelers

in
your

for

of
those
two
