Description
Weekly scheduled public City Council meetings for Cedar City, UT

B
D
I
get
a
couple
items
I
wanted
to
thank
staff,
Stephen
and
Jason,
and
Tom
Jett
for
putting
a
little
motivation
into
getting
our
clock
back
and
running
over
at
the
Heritage
Center,
so
we're
not
back
to
the
future
anymore
with
a
broken
clock.
So
anyway,
it's
good
to
see
that
up
and
running
again
I
think
we
can
maintain
it
now.
They
said
so
also
I've
had
a
few
calls
on
wondering
and
I
didn't
know
if
staff
or
anybody
had
been
contacted
on
the
Ramada
in
the
dead
lawn
out
front.
C
C
E
D
G
Yes
have
two
things:
chief
I
just
was
speaking
to
a
group
of
scalps
before
this
meeting
and
the
gentleman
the
gentleman
was
on
Interstate
Drive
said:
they've
got
a
real
speeding
problem.
I
was
wondering
if
we
could
watch
that
what
a
lot
of
trucks
were
coming
down
fast
he's
worried
about
kids
riding
bikes.
Could
you
the
other,
is
I
apologize?
I
forgot
my
jacket
and
Craig
said
I
get
a
demerit
for
that.
So.
H
I
J
B
G
G
B
I'm
glad
we
can
laugh,
there
are
a
couple
things
one
and
I
will
show,
and
this
over
there
in
a
second
on
Monday,
its
September
11th
and
September.
11Th
is
the
National
Day
of
Service
and
remembrance
and
suu
the
community
engagement
center
and
Leavitt
Center
for
politics
of
public
service
are
hosting
a
patriotic
tribute.
That
starts
at
twelve
eleven
pm
in
the
hunter
conference
center,
and
so,
if
any
of
you
are
around
or
would
like
to
attend
that
it
should
be
a
really
nice
event.
B
B
No
not
at
all,
but
there
is
that
another
thing
we
originally
on
our
schedule
for
the
year
did
not
have
council
meetings
scheduled
for
next
Wednesday
for
the
annual
League
conference
due
to
scheduling
conflicts,
it
does
not
appear
that
any
of
us
can
make
it
up
there,
and
so
we
had
talked
about
having
whether
or
not
to
have
council
next
week,
and
so
I
will
pose
that
question.
We
are
having
a
special
action
meeting
tonight
next
week
would
be
an
action
meeting.
There
are
some
items
that
we
can
have.
J
I
B
Month,
let's
see
what
that
means,
yeah,
it
would
just
as
scheduled.
We
would
have
no
meeting
then
on
the
20th.
It
would
be
an
action
and
a
work
and
then
back
to
the
action
so
normal.
So
if
we
did
have
a
meeting
next
week,
it
would
be
an
action
meeting
and
then
we'll
just
be
on
our
normal
I
know:
councilman
Adams
will
not.
He
will
be
out
of
town
and
have
that
scheduled
before.
But
with
the
rest
of
you,
we
here
in
able
to
have
a
meeting.
I
B
I
K
J
B
B
This
year
we
have
some
awesome.
This
is
the
our
biggest
council
that
we've
ever
had
we're
missing
a
few
tonight
due
to
some
academic
activities.
However,
and
we
do
have
16
active
members,
so
I'm
excited
it'll
be
a
good
year
at
least
the
first
year.
I
did
the
USA
Council
we
had
weeks
and
so
we've
doubled
since
then,
which
is
awesome
so
just
a
few
things.
B
So
I
think
that
that's
great
and
our
motto
and
our
mission
statement
I
think
convey
that
really
really
well.
So
our
motto
is
actually
youth
voices
United
serving
the
community
for
good
and
then
our
mission
statement
is
providing
the
youth
of
Cedar
City
with
the
opportunity
to
serve
empower,
educate
and
unite
the
community
by
acknowledging
and
creating
activities
that
strengthen,
inform
and
change
the
decision-making
for
the
better
of
the
youth.
So
that's
a
little
longer
than
the
motto,
but
we've
got
some
great
programs
and
greats,
and
these
kids
have
awesome
ideas
for
things
to
help.
B
Our
community
council,
councilman
Rowley
I
know
that
your
campaign
to
make
Cedars
political
is
that
what
it
is
that
was
our
very
first
meeting
and
at
a
meeting
tonight
right
before
this
ceremony.
I
guess
we
could
call
it.
We
were
able
to
talk
about
some
city
improvement,
especially
with
with
big
events
like
the
obvious
Cedar
City
tempo
opening,
soon
and
a
lot
of
other
community
enhancement
activities
for
them
and
leadership
opportunities,
and
we
are
excited
to
start
an
awesome
ear.
B
So,
if
I
remember
correctly,
you
want
to
go
through
and
we
want
to
introduce
ourselves
by
name
school
and
then
position
if
applicable,
correct.
Is
there
anything
I'm
missing
year
in
school,
so
you're
in
school
grade?
Oh
those
were
the
same
thing:
you're
in
school,
school
name
and
position.
If
applicable,
is
there
any
questions
for
me?
Okay,
awesome.
I
B
Will
invite
you
will
about
you
there?
You
go
hey
you
foot
the
bill
and
then
you
can
at
some
point.
Maybe
we
could
have
like
a
all
people.
Who'd
been
City,
Council
members
and
all
former
members
of
the
Youth
City
Council
like
that
would
be
a
big
group,
and
that
would
be
awesome.
That
would
be
great
because
a
lot
of
them
stuck
around
because
they
just
love
this
place.
So
much
like
me
so
anyway,
okay,
let's
start
with
you,
we'll
go
down
and
then
then
you
and
go
down.
J
J
N
G
J
I
B
I
B
D
B
Q
Evening,
mayor
and
council,
if
I'll
speak
quickly,
okay,
some
of
them
can
hear
because
you
may
have
an
opportunity
already
for
this
group.
The
Cedar
City
downtown
historic
committee
has
put
together
a
downtown
Main
Street,
cleanup
activity
that
will
be
held
Saturday
morning,
September
the
23rd
between
Center,
Street
and
200
north,
and
that
will
involve
some
weeding
some
cleaning
up
the
sidewalk
areas,
painting
the
no
parking
zones
along
that
stretch,
painting
the
median
where
this
downtown
sign
is
and
a
few
of
those
things.
Q
Q
Also,
tomorrow,
is
the
the
economic
summit
spelled
with
the
Chamber
of
Commerce
in
the
Department
of
Economic
Development,
lunch
is
at
noon
at
SU
use,
Great,
Hall
and
dinner
is
at
6:00
p.m.
at
the
same
location.
We
have
lieutenant
governor
Spencer
Cox,
addressing
the
economic
summit
at
noon
and
then
Chad
booth,
the
executive
producer
of
the
TV
programs,
county
seat
and
at
your
leisure
will
be
the
speaker
for
the
evening.
F
O
Q
H
Mayor
and
council
brain
Dangerfield,
director
of
leisure
services,
this
is
half
marathon
Week
in
Cedar
City
on
Saturday
morning,
we'll
have
900
half
marathoners
and
some
trail
runners
I,
wanted
to
say
thanks
to
Kenton,
Pope
who's
been
our
intern
who's.
Our
race
director
he's
unload
from
seu
and
he's
done
a
great
job
in
helping
and
grateful
to
all
the
volunteers.
We
have
probably
about
a
hundred
150
volunteers
that
helped
with
this
event,
it'll
be
Saturday
morning,
and
do
you
want
to
get
the
word
out?
H
We've
had
signs
posted
up
in
Cedar
Canyon,
the
last
two
weeks.
You
know,
thanks
to
our
public
works
department,
putting
the
electronic
signs
up
at
Midway
and
down
here
on
two
hundred
North
here
to
warn
people
that
the
canyon
will
be
closed
from
6
a.m.
to
11
a.m.
on
Saturday
morning,
and
they
need
anybody
needs
to
get
up.
The
canyon
will
have
to
go
up
through
Parowan,
Canyon
or
and
right-hand
Canyon
will
be
closed
as
well
during
that
time.
So
they
need
to
go
up
through
greens
lake
to
get
on
the
mountain.
H
So
we
know
this
is
an
inconvenience
for
for
for
vehicular
traffic,
but
it
sure
makes
for
a
great
run
for
people
to
come
down
the
canyon
so
anyway,
that
the
race
will
start
at
7:00
and
will
end
at
the
Bicentennial
Soccer
Complex
they'll
run
all
the
way
down
the
canyon,
the
mouth
of
the
canyon
cross
over
the
trail
and
be
able
to
run
down
that
beautiful
coke
creek
trail
and
stay
on
the
trail,
all
the
way
to
Bicentennial,
where
we
have
our
finish
line.
So
thank
you.
Thank
you.
Mayors.
B
R
We
see
our
new
youth
city
council
and
we
say
wow.
This
is
our
future
of
this
community
and
I.
Think
our
future
is
pretty
bright
for
this
community
with
the
young
people
that
are
willing
to
step
up
and
and
be
involved
in
this
community,
but
but
on,
but
on
a
bigger
note,
I
see
the
way
that
this
council
and
our
and
our
local
governments
in
the
area
in
southern
Utah
in
general
act
and
perform,
and
sometimes
you
question
so
at
ease,
I
kind
of
disagree.
R
But
then,
when
you
compare
us
to
what's
going
on
nationwide
and
the
the
the
venom
and
the
the
hatred
and
the
disdain
for
really
is
for
the
people,
the
disdain
is
because
they're
not
doing
their
jobs.
It's
I
look
at
that
our
local
communities
and
said
that
you
found
probably
in
Utah
in
general
and
I,
say
wow.
R
You
know
where
we
may
disagree
at
times,
but
we
come
together
for
the
betterment
of
this
of
this
state
in
the
city
in
this
county
and
so
forth,
and
it
makes
me
quite
proud
to
see
that
versus
when
you
compare
it
to
what
what
we
watch
and
and
the
venom
of
the
dispute
in
in
other
places.
So
keep
keep
that
in
mind,
always
that
we
never
want
to
be
like
that.
We
want
say
that
the
town
where
we
can
shake
each
other's
hands
at
the
end
of
the
day
and
and
be
appreciative
of
each
other.
B
K
Hello
I'm
canvas
house
with
the
Elks
Lodge
and
we're
gonna
do
our
second
horseshoe
tournament
this
next
weekend.
If
all
goes
well
here
herself
we're
planning
on
starting
around
1,
we
should
be
done
around
5,
but
it's
a
good
opportunity
for
people
to
get
out
and
we
can
make
some
money
to
buy
some
shoes
for
shop.
Let's
top.
S
E
S
B
S
B
F
So
the
city
has
two
facilities
on
land.
We
don't
own
at
least
well.
We
at
least
have
to
land,
we
don't
know
and
lands
owned
by
the
school
district.
One
of
the
facilities
is
a
park
to
the
west
of
Canyon,
View
middle
school
and
the
other
facilities
up
by
the
district
office
and
part
Discovery,
where
we
have
our
parking
lot
and
restroom
facilities
for
park
discovery
both
of
those
are
on
land
that
the
school
district
owns,
it's
not
a
secret,
it's
something
that
we've
had
open
for
years
and
years.
T
F
Use
it
for
the
benefit
of
the
public,
so
the
school,
with
this
agreement
with
this
MOU
staff
and
the
mayor's
office
or
what,
as
well
as
the
superintendent's
office,
have
suggested
a
couple
minor
alterations.
They
don't
affect
the
substance
of
the
agreement
there,
they're
more
in
line
with
making
sure
we
call
things
out
by
the
same
name
all
the
time,
some
capitalization
issues
and
things
of
that
nature.
B
F
Probably
in
the
fall
of
last
year,
we
had
a
joint
meeting
with
the
school
board
and
they
reminded
the
city
that
from
time
to
time,
throughout
the
years,
the
either
the
city
or
the
district
has
paid
to
built.
The
tennis
courts
and
the
other
entity
is
chipped
in
towards
maintenance
and
that's
kind
of
how
we've
operated
for
a
long
period
of
time.
Whoever
had
the
ownership
on
the
tennis
courts
would
keep
them
open
to
the
public
and
the
end
of
their
entity
would
chip
in
some
money
to
maintain
them.
F
So
these
new
tennis
courts
that
the
district
built
by
Canyon
View,
High
School
by
Cedar,
High
School
and
is
currently
building
by
Canyon
View
High
School,
are
supposed
to
last
for
quite
a
long
time.
The
district
has
spent
quite
a
bit
of
money
on
making
sure
the
concrete
underneath
is
post-tension
put
in
with
a
post
tensioning
process.
So
it's
supposed
to
last
longer.
The
district
is
estimated
that
in
a
10-year
period,
it
would
cost
about
$50,000
to
resurface
those
slabs
with
new
playable
materials.
F
We've
already
paid
the
district
$50,000
to
go
towards
the
maintenance
of
the
cedar,
high
tennis
courts
and
we'll
budget
sometime
in
the
near
future.
$50,000
for
the
canyon
view
from
this
course.
This
MOU
just
simply
states
that
the
district's
going
to
own
the
courts
they're
going
to
keep
them
open
to
the
public
if
they
got
to
shut
them
down
for
maintenance
or
that
they
want
to
lock
them
up
after
dark.
That's
fine,
but
otherwise,
they'll
be
open
for
public
use.
I
F
No
still
can
encumber
a
future
council.
Future
councils
can
always
do
whatever
they
want.
This
is
just
meant
to
put
in
writing
so
that
a
future
council
knows
hey.
We
did
this
deliberately.
This
is
a
handshake
agreement,
the
district
in
the
city
of
admin,
it's
a
little
more
difficult
for
a
future
council
to
say
I'm,
going
to
ignore
that
when
they
know
that
it's
something
that's
on
the
books
on
the
books
have
been
duly
considered.
J
B
To
be
fair,
the
future
Council
could
say
we
have
won
any
part
of
it.
Yeah
all
right
comments,
questions
good
with
that
on
the
consent,
I
mean
the
main
reason
for
both
of
those
is
people
change
out
of
positions
and
all
of
that-
and
we
just
wanted
as
people
come
and
go
there
to
be
in
writing
what
we've
all
talked
about.
C
B
T
T
Wait
we
sir,
we're
here
tonight
to
request
the
approval
of
the
fields
townhomes
PUD
at
the
corner
of
1425
north
and
north
field
Road.
This
development
has
been
designed
and
approved
through
the
engineering
staff,
and
at
this
point
we
are
all
ready
for
final
plat.
So
we
should
start
construction
and
thank
you
for
allowing
the
the
City
Council
the
weren't
meeting
next
week.
I
J
T
T
T
Age,
that's
that's
correct.
Is
there
as
part
of
our
development?
We
have
a
small
section
of
Northfield
Road
that
we
need
to
finish
the
improvements
on
and
then
also
1425
North
will
be
improved
from
centerline
that
less
12
feet
from
North
Pole
Road
on
over
to
the
West
property
line,
which
I'll
actually
complete
that
or
extend
that
real
truth
we
need
do.
We
need
to
go
back
to
the
drawing
board
on
the
waterline.
B
B
J
B
P
Administrative
intern
at
North,
Elementary
and
one
of
the
things
we've
found
since
the
school.
Your
start
of
this,
even
if
parents
pull
to
the
forward-most
position
in
the
parking
lot,
they're
backing
up
along
600,
West
and
200,
and
so
I
actually
I
think
it's
in
a
type
of
you.
It
needs
to
be
600,
but
it
so
you
know
it's
okay,
there's
room
there,
but
there's
not
room.
If
people
are
parking,
let's
belong
200
right
there.
P
U
C
I
I
Was
all
the
cars
all
the
way
down?
These
parents
were
coming
clear
out
here
in
the
road
like
this,
so
people
could
not
turn
into
the
lane
here
with
that
coming
head-on.
So
this
needs
to
be
there
for
safety.
I
thought
it
was
maybe
a
one
day
deal
because
the
first
day
of
school,
but
yet
it's
every
day.
U
U
I
U
B
S
Chief
Adams
Police
Department
I
was
just
gonna,
bring
up
a
point
that
Ryan
had
brought
up
and
it
may
be
semantics
kit
with
the
wording,
but
if
they're
there
and
they're
in
their
vehicle
technically
they're
not
parked
there
waiting.
So
I
don't
know
if
that
needs
to
be
reworded.
You
know
sitting
in
vehicle
or
stationary
vehicle
by
law.
They're
not
parked.
So
just
something
to
consider
as
far
as
enforcement
goes
is.
C
C
U
I
U
Hasn't
been
a
problem,
but
yes,
that's
what
we
do
we
stand
outside
and
all
the
kids
have
to
go
north
out
of
the
main
entrance
or
the
exit
they
have
to
go
north
and
push
them
that
way
nobody's
allowed
unless
they're
walking
and
that's
very
few
kids.
So
anybody
who
is
jin-kun
picked
up
by
I
was
parents
have
to
ask.
V
U
Not
really
there's
been
like,
like
Fred,
said,
there's
been
people
parking
here,
but
not
along
here.
I
just
wanted
to
avoid
that
problem,
because
it
is
a
parking
spot.
You
know
and
if
that
ever
happened,
I
don't
know
that
it's
happened.
I
haven't
walked
around
every
day
and
look,
but
if
that's
gonna
be
a
real
mess.
What's.
I
R
Quick
Tom
jet.
If
anybody
in
this
community
is
ever
feeling
blue
or
down,
all
you
have
to
do
is
at
school
cross.
What
time
is
watch
the
guard,
the
cross?
What
guard
right
here?
It's
been
there
for
as
long
as
I
can
remember,
and
it
has
almost
died-
that's
from
a
severe
car
crash
here
a
few
years
ago,
and
he
told
me
he
said
the
reason
he
lived
here.
So
he
could
come
back
to
do
that.
Job.
U
B
V
So
the
FAA
is
told
the
city
you
need
to
put
up
this
ground
or
prairie
dog
fence.
Essentially
they've
told
us.
We
just
need
to
put
it
around
the
towns
property
because
we
started
talking
about
this
with
KITT
KITT
suggested
we
put
an
easement
around
the
entire
Airport,
just
not
only
for
this
prairie
dog
fence
for
all
future
utilities
as
well.
So
you
have
a
spot
to
go
there.
It's
given
a
positive
recommendation
by
the
Planning
Commission.
B
H
Mary

Leisure

before
you
as
an
agreement
for
you
to
consider
last
July.
Each
of
you
had
the
opportunity
to
meet
a
gentleman
by
the
name
of
Alan
lamb
bear
representing
the
oat

LLC
North

which
is
a
subsidiary
of
OC
sports,
which
is
a
an
international
sports
and
event
marketing
company.
They
do
sailing
events,
they
do
ultra
running
events
and
cycling
events,
they've
recreated,
the
famous
claims
of
the
Tour
de
France
and
in
the
Pyrenees
and
the
Alps
and
the
Dolomites
when
Ellen
was
here
last
summer.
H
So.
What
this
opportunity,
in
a
nutshell,
provides
us
is
a
cycling
event
that
will
bring
people
from
internationally
to
Cedar
City
for
five
to
seven
days.
The
event
itself
will
be
a
three-day
event
to
two
Road
races
and
a
Time
Trial
there'll
be
about
300
riders
and
we
all
know
and
have
felt
what
the
Tour
of
Utah
has
done
for
our
community.
We've
hosted
it
three
times.
H
Last
year,
last
August
in
2016,
Steve
Miller
of
the
Tour
of
Utah,
said
in
a
press
conference
and
sitting
right
next
to
the
mayor
and
said
Cedar
City,
execute
sat
at
a
high
level
and
that
we
are
capable
of
hosting
world-class
events
and
comments
like
that.
Don't
go
unnoticed,
especially
a
company
based
out
of
Kranz
Montana
Switzerland,
where
Steve
shirts,
our
band
director
cedar,
has
taken
the
Ambassador
Utah
ambassadors
and
music
every
year
or
every
other
year
for
years
and
years.
H
So
there's
a
lot
of
and
that
we
have
with
this
event
as
they
propose
to
come
and
do
an
event
here
in
September
of
2018.
They
would
like
to
come
out
in
advance
and
do
a
test
event
what
they
call
a
test
event
where
they
shoot
video
marketing
video
that
they
post
on
their
website
and
they
promote
internationally.
H
F
N
O
C
I
O
Well,
we've
got
we
go
one
property
right
here,
that's
gonna
be
in
full
in
a
building
permit
on
that
property
and
that's
kind
of
what
triggered
this
for
us
to
get
our
art
part
of
that
in
we
own.
Both
sides
of
this
road
right
here
are
basically
just
improving
up
through
the
city
property
as
part
of
this
bed
and
the
budget
for
the
project
was
196,000.
O
The
bid
on
just
this
road
here,
193,000
I,
did
put
in
an
ass
additive
ultimate
in
the
package.
To
possibly
do
some
work,
the
dip
ion
cold
drive
to
soften
that
dip
out
a
little
bit.
The
low
bidders
price
for
that
alternate
was
twelve
thousand.
Five
hundred
problem
is,
as
that
bumps
us
over
the
budgeted
amount
for
this
project.
O
O
O
L
I
O
O
B
V
M
B
I
I
B
We'll
put
this
on
the
action,
so
we
can
discuss
that
next
time.
All
right
consider
item
number
11,
consider
an
ordinance
placing
no
parking
restrictions
on
both
sides
of
Cove
Drive
at
the
entrance
to
the
LDS
temple
as
follows:
a
on
the
east
side
of
coffe
Drive,
the
center
of
the
temple
driveway
200
feet
to
the
south
and
be
on
the
west
side
of
cove
drive
from
the
center
of
the
temple
driveway
to
200
feet
to
the
north.
Let.
O
O
This
is
a
fairly
steep
road
right
here
and
felt
like
that,
and
just
a
two-lane
road
worried
that
people
stopping
for
traffic
coming
up
the
hill
might
get
rear-ended
by
somebody
coming
down
the
hill,
and
so
we
just
felt
like
turning
lanes
would
make
this
situation
safer
on
both
ends,
but
the
turning
lanes
basically
took
up
the
entire
width
of
the
asphalt.
If
you
go
up
there
and
look
how
they're,
striped
and
sort
of
make
those
turn
lanes
work,
we
feel
like
we
need
to
put
these
no
parking.
I
D
I
O
D
That
we've
denied
driveways
coming
out
on
Cove
Drive
the
back
further
from
there,
but
there's
several
that
we
didn't
allow
to
put
driveways
out
on
Cove
Drive
because
of
the
traffic
problem,
except
for
the
one
new
one.
That's
got
a
gate
because
he's
got
big
enough
yard
in
that
and
he
can
turn
around
and
not
back
out
on
cold.

It's
actually
two
different
owners
that
we're
dealing
with
here,
but
both
of
the
owners
are
from
out
of
town
they're,
not
familiar
with
kind
of
a
process
going
through
with
you
know,
with
the
state
engineer,
so
they're
a
little
bit
hesitant
to
do
that
to
file
the
change
application,
although
from
my
perspective,
I
think
it
is
something
good
that
we
probably
should
start
doing
when
we
purchase
water
rights,
it's
really
the
only
way
to
make
sure
that
we
got
the
water
right
there.
A.
I
J
F
F
I
D
W
F
Mean
we
can
do
a
real,
simple
contract
with
them
that
says,
you're
gonna
agree
to
sell
them
to
sell
these
water
rights
to
us.
At
this
price,
we'll
put
10%
in
an
escrow
account
with
a
title
company
that
you
choose
locally,
we'll
do
the
change
apps
once
they
close
and
everything
is
fine,
we'll
fund
the
rest
of
the
of
the
purpose.
D
F
D
Typically
that
the
title
work
sometimes
they
skip,
but
the
change
of
the
change
needs
to
you
got
to
have
that,
but
I've
worked
on
several
water
deals
and
a
lot
of
times
they'll
skip
paying
the
title
company
and
we'll
just
hang
for
this
tablet
outside
of
title
search.
Title
search
on
the
water
is
with
a
title
company.
There's
only
one
company
that
insures
it
and
sometimes
it
can
be
sketchy.
F
C
Is
there
even
a
need
to
put
it
in
escrow
I
mean
that's
just
gonna
cost
more
in
fees
because
they
don't
do
that
for
free.
Do
they
not?
Would
they
not
rely
on
the
good
faith
of
the
city
if
we
enter
into
a
contract
and
said
when
the
title
is
clear
and
we
pay,
you
just
seems
like
another
extra
step
to
go
through
that,
if
I
would
think
they
could
rely
on
the
good
faith
of
the
city
entering
into
a
purchase
contract.
