From YouTube: 2017 10 25 Cedar City Council Action Meeting
Description
Weekly scheduled public City Council meetings for Cedar City, UT
A
Welcome
to
our
City
Council
meeting
tonight,
October
25th
2017.
We
need
to
excuse
councilman,
Isum,
there's
a
chance
you
might
get
here,
but
it
is
unlikely
and
then
we
will
begin
with
a
invocation
by
Reverend
Pierson
from
the
Community
Presbyterian
Church
and
then
have
our
Pledge
of
Allegiance,
led
by
Councilman
cousins.
B
C
B
That
winter
is
just
around
the
corner,
and
we
thank
you
for
the
reminder
that
you
are
with
us
in
every
season
of
the
year
and
every
season
of
our
lives.
Thank
you
for
your
promise
that
nothing
can
separate
us
from
your
love.
Thank
you,
Lord
for
your
faithfulness
God.
We
thank
you
tonight
for
our
nation
and
for
the
freedoms
that
we
have
here
in
the
United
States.
We
pray
that
we
would
never
forget
to
be
thankful
to
you
for
the
freedom
to
meet
together,
to
speak
freely
and
to
worship
in
peace
Lord.
B
B
We
pray
today
for
our
military
men
and
women
who
serve
throughout
the
world
guarding
and
protecting
the
freedoms
of
all
people,
keep
them
safe,
O,
God
and
in
your
care,
and
we
pray
for
your
protection
for
our
own
Utah
officials,
police
officers,
firefighters
and
other
first
responders
as
they
serve
in
our
communities
and
on
our
highways.
We
pray
for
the
families
of
all
of
these
who
serve
and
place
themselves
in
harm's
way.
B
For
us,
we
pray
tonight
for
our
community
of
Seir
city
and
for
the
leaders
that
guide
us
give
wisdom
to
those
who
will
lead
discussions
and
make
decisions,
allow
each
person
to
listen
well
and
to
consider
wisely
what
is
best
for
our
city
and
for
its
people
or
god.
We
pray
for
direction
for
our
city
councils,
so
that
all
that
they
do
and
say
would
build
build
a
spirit
of
unity
and
partnership
in
our
community.
Thank
you
for
the
privilege
we
have
of
living
in
this
place.

Just
this
you
know
the
temple
open
house
is
going
well.
They
had
the
contractors
tour
on
Saturday
from
10:00
to
2:00,
and
that
was
about
4000
builder
about
3,000.
More
than
expected,
and
we
had
Mundy
was
the
media
day
where
they
did
the
press
release
and,
and
then
there
they're
doing
some
VIP
tours
this
week.
Friday
and
Saturday
you're
gonna
be
big
days.
We're
gonna
have
a
lot
of
traffic
town,
probably
be
about
10,000
per
day,
so
between
out
in
the
Sheep
festival
and
Heritage
Festival,
and
all
that
no.
E
D
D
A
Right
are
there
any
other
with
that?
Don't
forget
the
Heritage
and
livestock
festival.
It
technically
starts
Thursday,
Friday,
Saturday
and
Sunday
with
the
Sheep
parade
at
10
o'clock
on
Saturday
morning.
Really,
that's
the
my
favorite
part
of
the
whole
thing
and
we'll
see
if
they
sheep
this
year
are.
A
F
Mary,
council,
Brian,
Dangerfield
leisure
services,
director
I,
wanted
to
remind
everybody
on
our
spectacular
we're
having
at
the
Aquatic
Center
that
Saturday
night
from
6:00
to
9:00
and
also
on
Friday.
Five
of
our
local
youth
have
been
invited
to
go
down
to
the
Vegas
Golden
Knights
hockey
game.
It's
a
3
p.m.
afternoon
game
and
they're
going
to
be
able
to
stand
down
there
on
the
ice
with
the
players
right
before
the
game
which
they're
having
an
amazing
season.
7
ones,
never
never
happened
before.
To
have
an
expansion
franchise.
F
Do
that
well
to
start
a
season
off
so
Cedar
City
is
going
to
be
a
part
of
that
history.
Here's
the
names
of
the
the
local
youth
that
are
going
to
be
able
to
do
that.
Braden,
Robinson,
Donovan,
groom,
Chris
and
righty
white
and
grace
and
brine
Holt
and
can
be
more
thrilled.
We
do
have
about
12
more
tickets
left.
If
anybody
would
like
to
go,
you
can
get
them
on
the
Cedar
City
glacier
dot-com
website
and
go
into
the
shop
section
and
there's
you
can
you
can
get
the
tickets
down?
F
F
A
F
A
G
Thank
you,
I
just
would
add
to
the
to
the
events
happening
this
weekend
on
behalf
of
the
the
downtown
merchants
and
I'm
involved
in
this
downtown
committee,
so
they're
also
having
their
second
annual
Hocus
focus
in
downtown
from
4:00
to
7:00
and
children
will
be
coming
through
downtown
trick-or-treating
in
and
out
of
all
the
stores.
So
last
year
it
was
much
more
successful.
G
They
anticipated
and
I'm
not
sure
how
they're
advertising
it,
but
I
do
know
that
they're
expecting
anywhere
from
1,000
to
2,000
kids,
downtown
Church
reading,
so
they'll
go
familiar
to
the
spooktacular
out
on
the
lake
on
the
hills,
it'll
be
a
very
busy
day
after
the
sheep
festival.
So
there's
a
lot
going
on
this
one.
H
My
name
is
Bruce
Hughes.
First
of
all,
I'd
like
to
thank
the
street
department.
They've
been
in
a
battle
this
past
week
with
the
leaves
and
the
gutter
and
doing
I
think
quite
well.
It's
it's
an
important
thing
to
try
and
keep
the
gutters
clean,
especially
where
we
still
have
water
going
down,
and
it's
made
a
mess
along
certain
streets,
so
I'm
sure
that
homeowners
on
those
streets
have
appreciated
so
I
think
the
street
department
owes
a
pat
on
the
back
for
that
regarding
the
leak
the
livestock
festival.
H
This
weekend
last
year
we
had
15
thousand
people,
attend
the
livestock
festival
between
the
parade
and
out
of
the
diamonds
II,
so
that
whole
end
of
town
is
going
to
be
very
interesting.
This
Saturday,
when
we
have
draft
horses
and
antique
tractors,
going
down
200
North
to
get
to
the
diamond
Z's,
so
just
be
aware
that
that
might
be
a
part
of
town
you'd
like
to
avoid.
H
A
week
ago,
I
announced
my
own
Sparkle
program
that,
if
we're
asking
our
community
members
to
make
the
town
look
nice,
that
I
was
willing
to
take
down
all
my
campaign
signs,
because
I
I
quite
frankly,
think
that
campaign
signs
are
littered
and
with
the
winds
that
we
had
last
Friday.
Some
of
the
signs
are
in
total
disarray
and
are
really
kind
of
trashy.
Around
town
and
I
can't
picture
a
single
person
coming
to
the
temple
open
house.
If
all
of
our
signs
were
down
and
say
whoa,
where
are
these
people's
campaign
signs?
H
The
comments
have
a
natural
advantage
in
any
election.
We
all
know
that,
and
so,
if
anybody
should
be
willing
to
take
down
their
signs,
I
would
think
the
incumbents
might
be
the
ones
to
set
the
example,
but
I
cannot
put
my
beliefs
and
my
principles
upon
anybody
else.
Everyone
has
their
free
choice
of
what
they
want
to
do.
H
My
wife
and
I
were
out
today
and
all
of
our
signs
on
Main,
Street
and
200
North
are
down
as
of
an
hour
ago,
and
tomorrow
we
will
go
out
and
and
look
for
the
200-yard
signs
that
we
have,
because
I
think
it's
important
that
as
politicians,
we
show
that
we
are
putting
the
community
ahead
of
our
own
personal
advantage,
and
so
my
signs
are
coming
down.
Thank
you.
Thank.
