E
I
feel
like
it
should
be,
relaxing
because
school
is
kind
of
naturally
a
stressful
environment.
I
think
open,
like
this
class,
is
very
open,
relaxed
class.
You
know
you,
don't
it's
not
very
rigid,
it's
it's
a
lot
more
fluid
it's
different,
because
you
can
definitely
you
definitely
have
much
more
energy
to
like
give
your
own
perspectives
and
art,
and
you
know
creative
things
like
that.
Like.
G
Calm
like
kind
of
happy
to
like
have
that,
like
everyone
includes
each
other
and
they
like
care
for
each
other
and
they're
all
just
helping
each
other
and
like.
It,
makes
me
happy
about
to
see
that.
A
So
the
big
question
is
often:
what
does
social,
emotional
and
academic
learning
look
like
like
what
are
those
strategies
and
practices
in
action?
And
there
are
some
really
high
impact
low
maintenance
strategies
that
can
be
implemented
k-12
during
the
academic
day,
so
things
like
providing
a
warm
welcome
for
all
students
and
all
staff.
H
H
Between
myself,
as
a
teacher
and
them
as
a
student
because
that's
uncomfortable
for
them,
I
want
them
to
be
able
to
approach
me
with
questions
and
problems,
and
so
I
am
intentional
in
trying
to
talk
with
them.
Laugh
with
them
greet
them,
ask
them
about
their
interests
in
their
day,
so
that
they
feel
comfortable
coming
to
me
with
the
academic
stuff
as
well.
I.
C
If
I
can
have
a
class
where
it's
happy
and
positive
and
stress-free
and
fun
for
kids,
it
just
makes
my
life
so
much
easier
like
like
as
a
teacher
educator.
Whatever
you
do
in
education,
don't
you
want
your
experience
to
be
fun
and
meaningful
and
happy
so
if
that's
going
to
be
coming
in
and
building
solid
relationships,
keeping
the
environment
happy
and
stress-free
and
light
where
kids
can
joke
and
feel
free
to
express
themselves
if
that's
going
to
transcend
into
something
where
hey
I
like
coming
into
work,
I
like
being
here
well,
take
it
it.
A
J
J
A
K
Over
the
past
few
years,
we've
worked
really
hard
to
make
sure
that
each
student
has
a
person,
and
we've
worked
as
a
team
here
to
make
connections
with
kids,
and
that
has
really
helped
us
make
sure
that
our
students
feel
a
part
of
our
school.
We
have
seen
that
the
kids
take
a
more
active
role
in
their
learning,
and
some
of
these
students
might
not
be
straight
a
students.
D
It's
like
a
thing
where
you
can
like
make
sure
you
can
stay
calm,
because
when
you're
at
recess,
you
are
like
super
excited.
So
when
you
go
back
to
the
classroom,
you
have
to
get
all
those
icky
feelings
like
excited
feelings
out
and
and
have
a
better
day.
It.
B
L
F
Also
make
sure
that
I
do
it
with
them
and
it's
kind
of
twofold
one
there's
a
lot
of
days.
I
need
it
and
you
know
I
feel
those
emotions,
those
you
know.
As
the
zones
of
regulation,
those
red
zone
feelings
start
coming
up
and
you
know
I
need
to
reset.
M
N
We
don't
have
a
ton
of
time
in
the
years
we
have
here.
It
goes
like
that
we
have
to
make
sure
that
kids
see
the
value
of
everything
we
do
here
in
centennial
and
it
begins
by
them
feeling
a
sense
of
belonging.
It
begins
by
them
feeling
that
we
are
invested
in
them
and
that
they're
not
just
a
passive
person
in
this
whole
educational
process.
N
Anything
that
we
can
do
in
the
dei
department
to
make
everyone
feel
heard
to
make
everyone
see
themselves
and
their
neighbor
and
value
their
neighbor's
story
as
much
as
they
value
their
own
story.
I
think
we're
going
to
be
on
the
path
to
making
a
better
community
and
a
better
prepared
student
for
for
the
world.
A
As
an
added
benefit,
there
is
an
extensive
research
base
that
shows
beyond
creating
the
types
of
climates
and
cultures
where
students,
staff
and
families
feel
successful
and
connected
students.
Experience
increased
academic
gains
when
they
are
part
of
schools
and
classrooms
that
integrate
social,
emotional
learning
into
their
academic
program.
They
also
experience
more
pro-social
behaviors
with
one
another
resulting
in
more
respectful
and
kind
school
classrooms
and
school
climates
and
at
the
end
of
their
k-12.
Experience
are
more
prepared
for
post-secondary
career
and
life.
Readiness,
which
is
centennial's
vision
for
students.
